뷰티케어용 세라믹소재기술 동향 (Trend of Ceramic Materials Technology for Beauty-care)

  • This work reported the trends of bioceramic materials for beauty-care applications with the several represent examples - tone-up, sun-care and anti-pollution cosmetics. The development of cosmetic techniques was discussed and reviewed with various ceramic hybrid materials. Moreover, we also reported the preparation and application of functional cosmetics with silicified liposome particles as a good make-up material for controlled release with natural compounds. The homogeneous loading and highly controlled-release formulation with porous and silicified ceramic liposome ceramic materials were discussed.

Bacterial leakage and micro-computed tomography evaluation in round-shaped canals obturated with bioceramic cone and sealer using matched single cone technique

  • Objectives: To evaluate sealing ability of root canals obturated with bioceramic-impregnated gutta percha cone (BCC) or gutta percha (GP), with bioceramic sealer (BCS) or AH Plus (AH; Dentsply-Maillefer), in roundly-prepared canals using matched single-cone technique, based on bacterial leakage test, and to analyze obturation quality using micro-computed tomography (CT) analysis. Materials and Methods: Ninety-two distobuccal roots of maxillary molars were prepared using nickel-titanium files to apical size 40/0.06. The roots were divided into 4 groups (n = 20) that were obturated with a master cone and sealer: GP/AH, BCC/AH, GP/BCS, and BCC/BCS. Bacterial leakage model using Enterococcus faecalis was used to evaluate sealing ability for 60-day period. Obturated samples from each group (n = 4) were analyzed using micro-CT. Results: All groups showed bacterial leakage at 20%-45% of samples with mean leakage times of 42-52 days. There were no significant differences in bacterial leakage among the groups. Micro-CT showed minimal gaps and voids in all groups at less than 1%. Conclusions: In roundly-prepared canals, the single cone obturation with BCC/BCS was comparable to GP/AH for bacterial leakage at 60 days.

Comparison of the sealing ability of various bioceramic materials for endodontic surgery

  • Objectives: Endosequence Bioceramic Root Repair Material (BC-RRM) is used in endodontic microsurgery. It is available as a paste and a putty. However, no studies to date have examined the sealing ability of these forms alone or in combination as root-end filling materials. Hence, this study aimed to compare the sealing properties of these 2 forms of BC-RRM. Materials and Methods: Forty-two extracted upper anterior teeth were divided into 3 experimental groups, a positive and negative control. After the root canal treatment, the root ends were resected, retroprepared and retrofilled with either putty, paste + putty or mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA). The teeth were mounted in tubes so the apical 3 mm was submerged in Brain Heart Infusion (BHI) broth. The coronal portions of the canals were inoculated with Enterococcus faecalis and BHI broth and incubated for 30 days. The broth in the tubes was analyzed for colony forming units to check for leakage of bacteria from the canal. The teeth from the groups were sectioned and analyzed using scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The Kruskal-Wallis test and analysis of variance were used to analyze the data with a significance level p < 0.05. Results: The BC-RRM and MTA groups showed similar sealing ability. The positive control showed leakage in all samples. The SEM imaging showed the presence of bacteria in all experimental groups at the material-tooth interface. Conclusions: No significant differences were noted in the experimental groups, providing sufficient evidence that any combination could be effectively used during endodontic microsurgery.

제초제 Imazapyr 의 미생물에 의한 분해 및 기타 방법에 의한 분해 촉진 (Microbial degradation and other methods for accelerated degradation the Herbicide Imazapyr)

  • 물리화학적 특성이 상이한 4종의 토양을 이용하여 제초제 imazapyr의 미생물에 의한 분해, 감광제에 의한 광분해 촉진 및 bioceramic 첨가에 의한 분해 촉진 시험을 수행하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 토양 A와 active sludge로부터 분리한 7종의 미생물을 접종한 순수배양에서 뚜렷한 대사산물을 얻지 못했다. 또한 6종의 기지 미생물을 이용한 14일간의 배양실험에서 역시 대사산물을 얻지 못했다. 이 결과는 수중에서 imazapyr가 미생물에 의해서는 거의 분해가 되지 않음을 시사해 준다. Imazapyr를 처리하여 배양한 토양중 그 분해산물로는 imidazolinone ring의 개열에 의해 형성된 m/z 279의 2-[(1-carbamoyl-1,2-dimethylpropyl)carbamoyl]nicotinic acid를 얻었다. 또한 자연광하에서 행한 광분해 시험에서 감광제의 종류에 따라 분해율에 많은 차이를 보였다. 무처리의 경우에는 14.6%의 분해율을 보인 반면 PS-1의 100ppm과 200ppm에서 각각 66.0과 76.5%로 농도가 높을수록 높은 분해율을 보였고, PS-2와 PS-3에서 각각 26.7과 90.0%의 분해율을 보였다. Aromatic ketone계 감광제인 PS-2는 무처리와 큰 차이를 보이지 않았다. PS-1을 첨가한 광분해 시료에서 m/z 149의 광분해 산물을 검출하였으며, 그 생성경로는 imidazolinone환이 개열된 후 가수분해되어 2-carbamoyl-nicotinic acid ${\rightarrow}$ 2,3-pyridinedicarboxylic acid ${\rightarrow}$ 2,3-pyridine-dicarboxylic anhydride(m/z 149)로 추정되었다. 토양 C와 D에 $[^{14}C]$imazapyr를 처리하고 bioceramic을 첨가하였을 때 발생된 $^{14}CO_2$의 방사능은 각각 총 처리방사능의 2.03%와 1.12%인 반면 bioceramic을 처리하지 않은 구에서는 각각 1.88%와 0.82%로써 유의성 있는 차이는 보이지 않았으나 5주 이후에는 $^{14}CO_2$의 양이 점점 증가했다.

주거재료용 왕겨보드의 생물학적 평가 (Environmental Effect Evaluation of Rice hull Board for Housing Materials)

  • As a countermeasure to reach self-sufficiency for wood supply and demand, we have to develop wood substitutes. Rice hull is the cheapest fiber material we can get in Korea, What is better the yield of rice hull amounts to 1 million tons per year. Before carrying out this study, new ecomaterial rice hull board for housing materials was developed successfully. In order to evaluate whether the rice hull board with or without bioceramic treatment is suitable for housing materials, we studied the environmental effect of the above materials in comparison with the polycarbonate, stainless, or concrete on the adaptation (body weight, water/feed consumption, general signs, urinalysis, autopsy, etc) and the reproduction(litter size, newborn adaptation, etc)of mice. In conclusion, the concrete cage was the worst in the adaptation and so was the stainless steel cage in the reproduction. The rice hull board cage with or without bioceramic treatment was superior or equivalent to other material cages from the standpoints of the adaptation and reproduction.

  • Korean traditional Ondol with the sensible heat storage medium has been for a long time used as residential heating system, in these days the concrete Ondol without the heat storage medium was realized as the heating system in the private houses and the apartments. This floor heating system is good for our health. But the concrete Ondol is not desirable for the energy saving and for the maintenance of comfortable room temperature because the heat storage medium is not employed in the concrete Ondol. And as the hot water circulating pipes ate buried under the the concrete floor, the concrete Ondol system has some kind of problems to be improved. Therefore the new type of Ondol system was developed in this study. And the new Ondol was consisted of latent heat storage material as heat storage medium with a great heat capacity and bioceramics as medium to maintain comfortable room temperature. In this study, the heat transfer characteristics of latent heat storage-bioceramic Ondol was analyzed theoretically.

Characterization and Evaluation of Porous Vermiculite Containing Polyethylene Composites Film

  • This work reported the preparation and evaluation of a freshness-keeping film prepared by composite of a porous ceramic material such as vermiculite and polyethylene polymer. The ceramic material was pretreated physically and chemically to control the specific surface areas and particle size. A high content master-batch was prepared using the pretreated vermiculite. The master-batch, which contained 30% ceramic material, was mixed with a polymer material to prepare a film containing 3% vermiculite. The oxygen permeability and various physicochemical properties were evaluated for the prepared films. Compared to plain polyethylene film, the vermiculite loaded polyethylene film has a freshness maintenance property, indicating the creation of an improved film.

Antimicrobial Ceramic Hybrid Polyethylene Films with Chamomile Extracts for Feed Packaging

  • This work was achieved on the preparation of antimicrobial ceramic hybrid polyethylene films with natural chamomile extracts. The antimicrobial activity and various physicochemical properties of the prepared films were evaluated. Various natural products demonstrated antimicrobial activity. Among them, chamomile extracts showed strong activity and no cytotoxicity rather than that of the natural extracts. Porous ceramic materials were synthesized and demonstrated loading and controlled release of natural antimicrobial extracts. Furthermore, chamomile loaded ceramic hybrid films showed antimicrobial activity that was maintained for over 15 days.

Lid technique을 활용하여 치근단 수술에서 역충전을 시행한 증례 보고 (Retrograde filling with Lid technique in periapical surgery: case report)

  • 치근단 수술의 성공 여부는 적절한 역충전 재료와 충전 기법을 선택하여 근단부를 밀폐하는 데 달려있다. 역충전 재료는 확실한 밀폐를 제공하고 양호한 치유를 얻기 위하여 여러가지 물리화학적 특성들이 요구되는데 현재까지 MTA는 기존의 재료들이 가지지 못한 전례없는 우수한 장점을 갖추어 역충전 재료의 gold standard로써 사용되어 왔다. 그러나 이러한 MTA도 경화시간이 길고 조작이 어렵다는 단점이 있어 최근에는 이러한 단점을 개선한 premixed putty type bioceramic material이 개발되었다. 또한 이러한 재료를 활용하여 역충전 와동을 효율적으로 충전하기 위한 'Lid technique'이 함께 제안되었다. 본 증례 보고는 치근단 수술에서 premixed putty type material과 Lid technique을 활용한 증례에 대하여 소개하고자 한다.
