나노 은을 이용한 전자파 차폐 직물이 뇌파에 미치는 영향 (A Study on the Effects of Electroencephalogram of Blocking Electromagnetic Wave Materials by useing the Nano Silver)

  • This study is one of the fundamental researches for the development of future smart clothing and textile products using silver(Ag) nano powder. Our study was focused on the blocking or insulating effects of nano-processed textiles from electromagnetic waves. Also, for the surveying of the actual effect to human body, we measure the variation of electroencephalogram which is an indication of human physical symptoms. Among various textiles in this experiment, nano silver processed case has shown the best blocking performance from the electromagnetic waves, which decreases depending on the distance. As a reference model of working environment, we setup the visual stimuli object on the computer that is a source of electromagnetic wave. The power spectrum distribution and the incidence of electroencephalogram was measured. The analysed data has shown that, with nano-processed textiles, ${\beta}$ wave does not appear very often where ${\beta}$ wave appears only to illustrate the stable states of human's body. However, as for the materials without nano processing, the ratio of ${\gamma}$ waves in the total level of electroencephalogram becomes higher in spite of short exposure to visual stimuli in work environment, which shows that the worker becomes stressed. The ${\beta}$ wave electroencephalogram of all materials is drawn in calcarine fissure of occipital lobe to show the convergent distribution, and stronger with block-processed Nano Silver Silk(NSS). The study based on the potential risks of human diseases such as physical fatigue by electromagnetic waves, and has shown that the application of Nano Silver textile for human uses require a proper particle size of it which would not penetrate cellular tissues, and a proper binder and binding treatment for it. However, it is highly required for back-up researches to verify various aspects in applying nano silver to textile products.

방사성폐기물 아스팔트 고화체 안정화 특성연구 (A Development of the Stabilization Technology for the Solid Form of Radioactive Waste)

  • 본 연구에서는 방사성폐기물 아스팔트고화체를 장기간 저장시 형태유지가 되지 않는 단점을 보완하기 위하여 폴리에틸렌을 고화보조제로 아스팔트에 첨가하여 전처리의 분쇄 공정 없이 입상수지를 직접 고화처리 함으로서 시멘트 고화체처럼 형태안정성을 지니는 아스팔트 고화체를 제조하는 방법을 개발하고 이 방법에 의해 제조된 고화체의 침출특성을 평가하여 실제 방사성 폐이온 교환수지 처리에 적용함을 그 목적으로 하였다. 실험결과 고화보조제인 폴리에틸렌은 아스팔트와 폐수지가 혼합된 고화체내에서 가교역활을 하며 PE 함유량이 10 wt% 이상일 때 장기간 노출실험에서도 고화체 형태를 그대로 유지하였다. 최적조업조건은 폐수지의 함유량이 무게비로 40wt% 이고 PE의 함유량이 10wt%이며 이때 고화체내부에 수지입자의 밀도도 균일하게 분포됨을 확인하였다. 실험은 폐이온교환수지에 아스팔트를 혼합하고 여기에 폴리에틸렌(PE) 필름을 고화보조제로 첨가함으로서 고화체의 균일성, 수분과 접촉시 고화체의 침출을 최저로 하는 안정된 고화체를 개발하였다.

흑연표면의 열방사율 측정시 결정립 배향성의 영향 (Thermal Emissivity Changes as a Function of Degree of Flakes Alignment on the Graphite Surface)

  • This study is the research on the thermal emissivity depending on the bulk graphite's alignment degree. Bulk graphites were manufactured by uni-axial pressing and subsequent heat treatment of natural graphite flakes with organic binder. The samples were prepared to be $0^{\circ}$ (relative to the 002 c-face), $45^{\circ}$, and $90^{\circ}$ (relative to the 100 a-face) for measuring alignment degree. The alignment degree of the sample was measured by XRD. The thermal emissivity was measured by infrared thermal image camera at $100^{\circ}C$ and compared with the value obtained by Infrared spectroscopy. The alignment degree and thermal emissivity of $0^{\circ}$ sample were measured to be 0 and 0.70 respectively. And those of $90^{\circ}$ sample were 0.73 and 0.80 respectively. The emissivity value was correlated with obtained by IR spectroscopy. Therefore it was considered that the thermal emissivity of the bulk graphite is correlated with the alignment degree.

  • Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic autoimmune disorder characterized by progressive joint deterioration; Furthermore, RA can also affect body tissues, including the skin, eyes, lungs, heart and blood vessels. The early stages of RA can be difficult to diagnose because the signs and symptoms mimic those of many other diseases. It is not known exactly what triggers the onset of RA and how to cure the disease. But recent discoveries indicate that remission of symptoms is more likely when treatment begins early with strong medications known as disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drugs (DMARDs). Tumor necrosis factor (TNF) inhibitors are typical examples of biotherapies that have been developed for RA. The substances may occur naturally in the body or may be made in the laboratory. Other biological therapies care biological response modifiers (BRMs)such as monoclonal antibodies, interferon, interleukin-2 (IL-2) and a protein binder using repeat units. These substances play significant anti-inflammatory roles. Proteins with recurrent, conserved amino acid stretches mediate interactions among proteins for essential biological functions; for example, ankyrin (ANK), Heat repeat protein (HEAT), armadillo repeat protein (ARM) and tetratricopeptide repeats (TPR). Here, we describe Leucine rich repeats (LRR) that ideally fold together to form a solenoid protein domain and is more applicable to our current study than the previously mentioned examples. Although BRMs have limitations in terms of immunogenicity and effector functions, among other factors, in the context therapeutic use and for proteomics research, We has become clear that repeat-unit-derived binding proteins will increasingly be used in biotechnology and medicine.

커플링제가 플라스틱 페라이트 자석의 레올로지와 자기특성에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Coupling Agents on the Rheological and Magnetic Properties of Plastic Ferrite Magnets)

  • 커플링제 종류에 따른 플라스틱 페라이트 이방성 자석의 레올러지와 자기특성에 미치는 영향을 조사하여 비교하였다. 커플링제는 silane A174와 titanete TTS를 사용하였으며, 고분자 결합제는 polypropylene(PP), 자성분말은 Sr-페라이트를 사용하였다. TTS의 첨가가 A174의 첨가보다 혼합물의 점도 감소와 자기특성 증가에 더 효과적이었다. 커플링제가 첨가되지 않은 혼합물과 비교하여, A174는 23%, TTS는 50%의 점도 감소 효과를 나타내었다. (전단율 1280 sec-1에서). 4 kOe의 자장하에서 사출성현한 플라스틱 이방성 자석은 커플링제로 처리되지 않은 자석 (잔류자속밀도 : 1.89 kG, 최대자기에너지적 : 0.84 MGOe)에 비해 A174 처리에 의해 잔류자속밀도는 2.25 kG, 최대자기에너지적은 1.23 MGOe로 향상되었으며, TTS의 처리에 의해 잔류자속밀도는 2.35 kG, 최대자기 에너지적은 1.33 MGOe로 각각 향상되었다.

6개월간의 Alphacalcidol의 투여와 영양교육의 실시가 지속성복막투석 환자의 영양소 섭취, 골밀도 및 골대사 지표에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of 6 Month Alphacalcidol Treatment or Nutrition Education on the Nutrient Intakes, Bone Mineral Density and Bone Markers in Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis Patients)

  • This study was performed to estimate the effect of alphacalcidol supplementation or nutrition education on the nutrient intakes, bone mineral density and bone markers in continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD) patients. The 90 CAPD subjects were randomly assigned to 3 groups (alphacalcidol group: AG, nutrition education group: NG, and control group: CG). Alphacalcidol supplementation($0.5{\mu}g/day$) was carried out for 8 months. Nutrition counseling was performed according to the patient s individual question for the first 6 months and scheduled nutrition education with individual counseling was carried out for the last 2 months. In baseline data. there were no significant differences in age, sex, family number, education years and monthly income except the NG showed significantly less duration of CAPD (p< 0.05) compared to other two groups. After intervention all three groups showed tendency of lower intakes. NG revealed less decrease in protein, especially in animal protein calcium from Ca-P binder, dietary calcium, dietary iron and niacin. NG showed significantly more increase in dry weight (p<0.05) and AG in waist circumference (p<0.001) after intervention. The groups did not show significant differences in the changes of biochemical indices related to bone metabolism. NG revealed more increase in trochanter BMD(p < 0.05) compared to other two groups. It seems that nutrition education is more effective in preventing deterioration or improving the bone and general nutrition status.

콘크리트 포장의 급속 보수를 위한 산화마그네슘계열 단면복구재의 성능에 대한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study on Performance of MgO-based Patching Materials for Rapid Repair of Concrete Pavement)

  • PURPOSES : This study aims to develop a repair material that can enhance pavement performance, inducing rapid traffic opening through early strength development and fast setting time by utilizing MgO-based patching materials for repairing road pavements. METHODS : To consider the applicability of MgO-based patching materials for repairing domestic road pavements, first, strength development and setting time of the materials were evaluated, based on MgO to $KH_2PO_4$ ratio, water to binder ratio, and addition ratio of retarder (Borax), by which the optimal mixture ratio of the developed material was obtained. To validate the performance of the developed material as a repair material, the strength(compressive strength and bonding strength) and durability (freezing, thawing, and chloride ion penetration resistance) was checked through testing, and its applicability was evaluated. RESULTS : The results showed that when an MgO-based patching material was used, the condensation time was reduced by 80%, and the compressive strength was enhanced by approximately 300%, as compared to existing cement-based repair materials. In addition, it was observed that the strength (compressive strength and bonding strength) and durability (freezing and thawing, and chloride ion penetration resistance) showed an excellent performance that satisfied the regulations. CONCLUSIONS : The results imply that an emergent repair/restoration could be covered by a rapid-hardening cement to meet the traffic limitation (i.e. the traffic restriction is only several hours for repair treatment). Furthermore, MgO-based patching materials can improve bonding strength and durability compared to existing repair materials.

The Physical, Mechanical, and Sound Absorption Properties of Sandwich Particleboard (SPb)

  • While the utilization of wood as a raw material in related industries has been increasing with the population increasing, the availability of wood from natural forests has continued to decline. An alternative to this situation is the manufacture of particleboard from non-wood lignocellulose materials through the modification of sandwich particleboard (SPb) using bamboo strands as reinforcement. In this study, strandsof belangke bamboo (Gigantochloa pruriens W) and tali bamboo (Gigantochloa apus) were utilized. The non-wood particles included sugar palm fibers, cornstalk, and sugarcane bagasse. The board was made in a three-layer composition of the face, back, and core in a ratio of 1: 2: 1. The binder used was 8% isocyanate resin. The sheet was pressed at a temperature of 160℃ for 5 min under a pressure of 3.0 N/㎟. Testing included physical and mechanical properties based on the JIS A 5908 (2003) standard, while acoustic testing was based on ISO 11654 (1997) standards. The results showed that using bamboo strands as reinforcement has an effect on the mechanical and physical properties of SPb. Almost all the types of boards met the JIS A 5908 (2003) standards, with the exception of thickness swelling (TS) and internal bond (IB) parameters. Based on the thickness swelling parameter, the C-type board exhibited the best properties. Overall, the B-type board thatused a belangke bamboo strand for the surface and sugarcane bagasse as the core underwent the best treatment. Based on the acoustical parameter, boards using a tali bamboo strand for the surface and sugar palm fiber as the core (E-type board) exhibited good sound absorption properties.

코발트 페라이트 나노입자/탄소 나노섬유 복합전극 제조 및 슈퍼커패시터 특성평가 (Preparation of CoFe2O4 Nanoparticle Decorated on Electrospun Carbon Nanofiber Composite Electrodes for Supercapacitors)

  • Energy storage systems should address issues such as power fluctuations and rapid charge-discharge; to meet this requirement, CoFe2O4 (CFO) spinel nanoparticles with a suitable electrical conductivity and various redox states are synthesized and used as electrode materials for supercapacitors. In particular, CFO electrodes combined with carbon nanofibers (CNFs) can provide long-term cycling stability by fabricating binder-free three-dimensional electrodes. In this study, CFO-decorated CNFs are prepared by electrospinning and a low-cost hydrothermal method. The effects of heat treatment, such as the activation of CNFs (ACNFs) and calcination of CFO-decorated CNFs (C-CFO/ACNFs), are investigated. The C-CFO/ACNF electrode exhibits a high specific capacitance of 142.9 F/g at a scan rate of 5 mV/s and superior rate capability of 77.6% capacitance retention at a high scan rate of 500 mV/s. This electrode also achieves the lowest charge transfer resistance of 0.0063 Ω and excellent cycling stability (93.5% retention after 5,000 cycles) because of the improved ion conductivity by pathway formation and structural stability. The results of our work are expected to open a new route for manufacturing hybrid capacitor electrodes containing the C-CFO/ACNF electrode that can be easily prepared with a low-cost and simple process with enhanced electrochemical performance.

매립장 석탄회의 긴급복구용 CLSM으로 활용 가능성 (Feasibility Study on CLSM for Emergency Recovery of Landfill Bottom Ash)

  • 본 연구에서는 매립석탄재를 이용한 CLSM의 실질적인 기술개발의 일환으로 매립석탄재의 입도분포 및 미립자 함량 등 물성에 따른 CLSM의 유동성, 블리딩 속도, 강도 등의 특성을 검토하였다. 그 결과 채취한 매립석탄재는 밀도 특성과 입도 분포가 다른 것으로 나타났으며 비산재의 양이 많고 혼합수를 많이 첨가한 시편의 경우 블리딩 비율이 기준을 만족하지 못하였고 압축강도 시험 결과, 4시간 동안 0.5MPa 이상의 강도발현은 단위결합재량이 200 이상인 반수석고를 사용한 시편의 경우 만족스러운 것으로 나타났다. 나머지 석고는 강도발현이 불량한 것으로 나타나 매립석탄재는 CLSM 소재로 활용이 가능할 것으로 판단되나 각 발전사의 회처리장에 매립된 석탄재의 물리화학적 특성을 규명하고 적용할 필요가 있다.
