Biodistribution of 99mTc Tricarbonyl Glycine Oligomers

  • $^{99m}Tc$ tricarbonyl glycine monomers, trimers, and pentamers were synthesized and evaluated for their radiolabeling and in vivo distribution characteristics. We synthesized a $^{99m}Tc$-tricarbonyl precursor with a low oxidation state (I). $^{99m}Tc(CO)_3(H_2O)_3^+$ was then made to react with monomeric and oligomeric glycine for the development of bifunctional chelating sequences for biomolecules. Labeling yields of $^{99m}Tc$-tricarbonyl glycine monomers and oligomers were checked by high-performance liquid chromatography. The labeling yields of $^{99m}Tc$-tricarbonyl glycine and glycine oligomers were more than 95%. We evaluated the characteristics of $^{99m}Tc$-tricarbonyl glycine oligomers by carrying out a lipophilicity test and an imaging study. The octanol-water partition coefficient of $^{99m}Tc$ tricarbonyl glycine oligomers indicated hydrophilic properties. Single-photon emission computed tomography imaging of $^{99m}Tc$-tricarbonyl glycine oligomers showed rapid renal excretion through the kidneys with a low uptake in the liver, especially of $^{99m}Tc$ tricarbonyl triglycine. Furthermore, we verified that the addition of triglycine to prototype biomolecules (AGRGDS and RRPYIL) results in the improvement of radiolabeling yield. From these results, we conclude that triglycine has good characteristics for use as a bifunctional chelating sequence for a $^{99m}Tc$-tricarbonyl-based biomolecular imaging probe.

린넨 직물의 번수에 따른 최적 반응성 염료의 염색성 및 염색견뢰도 연구 (Dyeability and Color Fastness of Optimal Reactive Dyes According to Linen Fabrics)

  • In this study, we constructed a database of dyeing concentrations of all reactive dyes used for dyeing linen according to the thickness of the linen fabric and attempted to improve the reproducibility of the dyeing process for the commercialization of linen fabric materials. Linen fabric is a natural cellulose material that is comfortable and suitable for eco-friendly trends. It is a typical summer material with excellent breathability and thermal conductivity, quick moisture absorption and dissipation, and a cool touch. Dyeability and fastness were evaluated depending on the thickness of the linen fabric using a monochlorotriazine (MCT) reactive dye and bifunctional yellow, red, and blue dyes. All three colors of the MCT reactive dye and bifunctional dyes exhibited a darker shade as the fiber thickness of the marker increased. Fastness to washing was excellent at grades 4-5 or higher, regardless of the color of the dye and the number of linen fabrics. Although some color-fastness differences were noted, with the color change occurring most frequently with blue color, the fastness variations with dye type were mostly similar. The results of this study are expected to facilitate the selection of reactive dyes according to the thickness of the linen fabric based on the basic data from the laboratory, which will aid in the mass production of linen fabric and benefit the fashion industry.

Antibody radiolabeling with diagnostic Cu-64 and therapeutic Lu-177 radiometal

  • With the development of monoclonal antibodies, therapeutic or diagnostic radioisotope has been successfully delivered at tumor sites with high selectivity for antigens. Different approaches have been applied to improve the tumor-to-normal ratio by considering the in vivo stability of radioimmunoconjugates as a prerequisite. Various stable and inert antibody radiolabeling techniques for radioimmunoconjugate preparation have been extensively evaluated to enhance in vivo stability. Antibody radiolabeling techniques should be rapid and easy; they should not disrupt the immunoreactivity and in vivo behavior of antibodies, which are coupled with a bifunctional chelator (BFC) to stably coordinate with a radiometal. For the design of BFCs, radiometal coordination properties must be considered. However, various diagnostic radionuclides, such as 89Zr, 64Cu, 68Ga, 111ln, and 99mTc, or therapeutic radionuclides, such as 177Lu, 67Cu, 90Y, and 225Ac, have been increasingly used for antibody radiolabeling. In addition to useful radionuclides, 64Cu and 177Lu with the most accessible or the highest production rates in many countries should be considered. In this review, we mainly discussed antibody radiolabeling techniques and conditions that involve 64Cu and 177Lu radiometals.

  • Microbial lactonohydrolases (intramolecular ester bond-hydrolyzing enzymes) with unique properties were found. The lactonohydrolase from Fusarium oxysporum catalyzes enantiose-lective hydrolysis of aldonate lactones and D-pantoyl lactone (D-PL). This enzyme is useful for the large-scale optical resolution of racemic PL. The Agrobacterium tumefaciens enzyme catalyzes asymmetric hydrolysis of PL, but the stereospecificity is opposite to that of the Fusarium enzyme. Dihydrocoumarin hydrolase (DHase) from Acinetobacter calcoaceticus is a bifunctional enzyme, which catalyzes not only hydrolysis of aromatic lactones but also bromination of monochlorodi-medon in the presence of H$_2$O$_2$and dihydrocoumarin. DHase also hydrolyzes several linear esters, and is useful for enantioselective hydrolysis of methyl DL-$\beta$-acetylthioisobutyrate and regioselective hydrolysis of methyl cetraxate.

Stability of Photochromism in New Bifunctional Copolymers Containing Spiropyran and Chalcone Moiety in the Side Chain

  • We synthesized three copolymers bearing photochromic spiropyran dye and chalcone moiety in the side chain for studying the dynamic properties of their photochromism. They contain methacrylate-spiropyran (MAspiropyran) and methacrylate-chalcone (MA-chalcone) with the different concentration. The photosensitivity of the newly synthesized copolymers was investigated by using UV-Vis absorption spectroscopy. We observed photodimerization and photochromic behavior under UV irradiation at the same time. The effect of photocrosslink on the rate and stability of photochromism in three copolymers was considered in this study. This study might be helpful to design photochromic materials for irreversible optical memory by virtue of photocrosslinking reaction.

Preparation of Bonded Cellulose Tris(3,5-dimethylphenylcarbamate) Chiral Stationary Phases by Using Three Bifunctional Reagents

  • Three di-acyl chlolide reagents, adipoyl chloride, terephthaloyl chloride and isophthaloyl chloride, were used as spacer reagents to prepare bonded type of three cellulose (3,5-dimethylphenyl)carbamate (CDMPC) chiral stationary phases (CSPs). The CDMPC CSPs were prepared using these three acid chlorides as spacer agents at the 6-position of the primary hydroxyl group on the glucose unit of cellulose regioselectively. The chiral recognition ability of the prepared CSPs for five racemates was evaluated by normal-phase high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) with the following mobile phases: hexane/isopropanol (IPA), hexane/IPA/tetrahydrofuran (THF) and hexane/IPA/chloroform. The result showed that these prepared CSPs can be used in THF and chloroform solutions and the chiral recognition abilities of the CSPs were improved depending on the eluents and chiral samples.

유지산업 부산물을 이용한 1,3-propanediol 생산공정 개발

  • 1.3-Propanediol as a bifunctional organic compound could potentially be used for many synthesis reactions, in particular as a monomer for polycondensations to produce polyesters, polyethers and polyurethanes. Wastewater containing high concentration of glycerol was used to produce 1,3-propanediol in lower production cost which inturn the quantity of wastewater to be treated. In this study, various attempts were made to increase 1,3-propanediol production under different conditions by Klebsiella pneumoniae ATCC 15380. 1,3-Propanedio conversion yield and by-product formation were influenced significantly by pH and temperature. The Optimal glycerol and nitrogen concentration for 1,3-propanediol production were found to be 25g/L and 1%(w/v), respectively. The production formation of 1,3-propanediol was optimal at pH 6.0 and temperature $35^{\circ}C$.

  • In this paper, a novel utility connected photovoltaic power generation system with unity power factor and uninterruptable power system facility and its control strategy are proposed. The proposed photovoltaic(PV) system is connected in parallel between utility and load. The PV system provides an uninterruptable voltage to load, a maximum power tracking to solar array, and power factor correction to the utility. The proposed system has the following advantages compared with the conventional utility connected PV system. 1. Harmonic elimination Function 2. Feeding the photovoltaic energy to the utility 3. Providing the uninterruptible power source along battery to the load In case that the photovoltaic array system is on the poor power generation, the battery and capacitor of the PV system are charged by three phase utility source and the inverter in the PV system only provides the reactive current to eliminate the harmonic current exited on the utility. In the normal operation mode, the PV system supplies active power to load and reactive power to utility in order to maintain the unity power factor and to regulate ac load voltage.

$\alpha$-Bromoacrylamide계 반응염료에 의한 키토산 섬유의 염색 및 가교 (Dyeing and Crosslinking of Chitosan Fibers with $\alpha$-Bromoacrylamide Reactive Dyes)

  • Dyeing properties and crosslinking effect of bifunctional reactive dyes on chitosan fiber were investigated to improve the stability of chitosan fiber against the mild acidic solution and the wet processing. Chitosan fibers were crosslinked with epichlorohydrin for comparing purpose, and dyed with C. I. Reactive Red 194, C. I. Reactive Blue 50, and the reactive dye having two $\alpha$-bromoacrylamide groups at various concentrations. The initial dyeing rates of reactive dyes are rapid and chitosan fibers absorb the relatively large amount of dyes. The chitosan fibers dyed with these dyes show the low degree of swelling and the low solubility in 1 % acetic acid solution and also represent the higher thermal stability The reactive dye with two $\alpha$-bromoacrylamide groups shows higher crosslinking effect than other dyes.
