This paper presents a compensation method of unbalanced phase currents in interleaved bi-directional converters. Phase currents in interleaved bi-directional converter are apt to be unbalanced due to circuit parameter error and switch operation difference. This problem causes the switch element failure and the reduced efficiency of the converter. Therefore, it is necessary that a certain balance control algorithm is provided in interleaved bi-directional converter system. In this paper, a balance control algorithm based on the circular chain control method is proposed. Further, in order to reduce the number of phase current sensors, this paper shows a simple method in which phase currents can be extracted indirectly through a DC-link current sensor in both charging and discharging modes. The validity and the effectiveness of the proposed phase currents balance control algorithm are illustrated through the simulation results.

In applications of adaptive noise control or active noise control, the presence of a transfer function in the secondary path following the adaptive controller and the error path, been shown to generally degrade the performance of the Least Mean Square (LMS) algorithm. Thus, the convergence rate is lowered, the residual power is increased, and the algorithm can become unstable. In general, in order to solve these problems, the filtered-x LMS (FX-LMS) type algorithms can be used. But these algorithms have slow convergence speed and weakness in the environment that the secondary path and error path are varied. Therefore, I present the new algorithm called the "Bi-directional Filtered-x (BFX) LMS" algorithm with nearly equal computation complexity. Through experimental study, the proposed BFX-LMS algorithm has better convergence speed and better performance than the conventional FX-LMS algorithm, especially when the secondary path or error path is varied and the impulsive disturbance is flow in.

This paper presents the study of 3-Phase bi-directional DC to AC inverter with unity power factor. 3-Phase bi-directional DC to AC inverter is important for the bi-modal PV PCS with an energy storage system. Both Inverting and converting are needed to connect between the grid side and boost converting side to charge and discharge the energy storage system. The paper proposes the appropriate circuit topology and proper control system for the bi-directional inverter. It also proposes the method of selecting the optimum control method considering system stability. PSIM simulation is used to validate the proposed algorithm.

A Single-phase bi-directional inverter Using a diode bridge-type resonant circuit to implement ZVT(Zero Voltage Transition) switching is Presented. It is shown that the ZACE(Zero Average Current Error) algorithm based polarized ramptime current control can provide a suitable interface between diode bridge-type resonant circuit DC link and the inverter. The current control algorithm is analyzed about how to design the circuit with analyzed switch which m ZVT operation for the main power switch The simulation and experimental results would be shown to verify the proposed current algorithm, because the main power switch is turn on with ZVT and the bi-directional inverter is operated.

The least mean square(LMS) algorithm has been popular owing to its simplicity, stability, and availability to implement. But it inherently has a problem of slow convergence speed, and the presence of a transfer function in the secondary path following the adaptive controller and the error path has been shown to generally degrade the stability and the performance of the LMS algorithm in applications of acoustical noise control. In general, in order to solve these problems, the filtered-x LMS (FX-LMS) type algorithms can be used and the bi-directional Filtered-x LMS(BFXLMS) algorithm is very attractive among them, which increase the convergence speed and the performance of the controller with nearly equivalent computation complexity. In this paper, a mathematical analysis for the BFXLMS algorithm is presented. In terms of view points of time domain, frequency domain, and stochastic domain, the characteristics and stabilities of algorithm is accurately analyzed.

This paper presents a topology for a modular power electronic transformer (PET) and a control scheme. The proposed PET consists of a cascaded H-Bridge rectifier on the primary side, a high-frequency DC/DC conversion cell in the center, and a cascaded H-Bridge inverter on the secondary side. It is practical to use PETs in power systems to reduce the cost, weight and size. A detailed analysis of the structure is carried out by using equivalent circuit. An algorithm to control the voltages of each capacitor and to maintain the power flow in the PET is established. The merits are analyzed and verified in theory, including the bi-directional power flow, variable voltage/frequency and high power factor on the primary side. The experimental results validated the propose structure and algorithm.

A single-phase bi-directional inverter with a diode bridge-type resonant circuit to implement ZVT(Zero Voltage Transition) switching is proposed. It is shown that the polarized ramptime current control algorithm, a method that belongs to the family of ZACE(Zero Average Current Error) methods, is a suitable technique to integrate with a typical single-phase ZVT inverter. The proposed current control algorithm is analyzed to design the circuit with auxiliary switch which can operate with ZVT for the main power switch. The simulation results would be shown to verify the proposed current algorithm to turn the main power switch on with ZVT and to operate the inverter bi-directionally

This study proposes an optimized design of a dual active bridge converter for a low-voltage charger in a military uninterrupted power supply (UPS) system. The dual active bridge converter is among various bi-directional DC/DC converters that possess a high-efficiency isolated bi-directional converter. In the general design, the zero-voltage switching(ZVS) region is reduced when the battery voltage is high. By contrast, efficiency is low because of high conduction losses when the battery voltage is low. Variable switching frequency is applied to increase the ZVS region and the power conversion efficiency, depending on battery voltage changes. At the same duty, the same power is obtained regardless of the battery voltage using the variable switching frequency. The proposed method is applied to a 5 kW prototype dual active bridge converter, and the experimental results are analyzed and verified.

This paper presents the algorithm of the compensation of the grid current distortion caused by the grid voltage unbalance and distortion in 3-phase bi-directional DC to AC inverter. Usually 3-phase grid system has unbalance and distortion because of connecting 1-phase and non-linear load with 3-phase load using same input node. Controlling 3-phase inverter by general method under the unbalanced and distorted grid voltage, the grid current has distortion. This distortion of the grid current cause the grid voltage distortion again. So, it need to control the grid current balanced and non-distorted, even the grid voltage gets unbalanced and distorted. There are some complex method to compensate the gird current distortion. it sugest simple method to solve the problem. PSIM simulation is used to validate the proposed algorithm.

A bi-directional tuned mass damper (BTMD) in which a mass connected by two translational springs and two viscous dampers in two orthogonal directions has been introduced to control coupled lateral and torsional vibrations of asymmetric building. An efficient control strategy has been presented in this context to control displacements as well as acceleration responses of asymmetric buildings having asymmetry in both plan and elevation. The building is idealized as a simplified 3D model with two translational and a rotational degrees of freedom for each floor. The principles of rigid body transformation have been incorporated to account for eccentricity between center of mass and center of rigidity. The effective and robust design of BTMD for controlling the vibrations in structures has been presented. The redundancy of optimum design has been checked. Non dominated sorting genetic algorithm (NSGA) has been used for tuning optimum stages and locations of BTMDs and its parameters for control of vibration of seismically excited buildings. The optimal locations have been observed to be reasonably compact and practically implementable.
