  • High-temperature superconduction materials(Bi2223) possess electrical/electronic and magnetic properties. Because high-temperature superconduction materials is a ceramic powder, that can not be produced singlehandedly. So Ag sheathed Bi-2223 wire was produced by drawing process using powder-in-tube(PIT) method. This superconductor has many difficulties to produce. The main difficulty is that the mechanical properties of the ceramic powder are very different from those of the Ag sheath. Bi2223 high-temperature superconductivity have a single filament drawing process, and multi-filament drawing process. This study analysed multi-filament drawing process by FEM, a defects during multi-filament drawing was studied by FEM.

Thermodynamics for Formation of Each Stable Single Phase in Bi-superconductor Thin Films

  • High quality BSCCO thin films have been fabricated by means of an ion beam sputtering at various substrate temperatures, T$\_$sub/, and ozone gas pressures, PO$_3$. The correlation diagrams of the BSCCO phases appeared against T$\_$sub/ and PO$_3$ are established in the 2212 and 2223 compositional films. In spite of 2212 compositional sputtering, Bi2201 and Bi2223 phases as well as Bi2212 one come out as stable phases depending on T$\_$sub/ and PO$_3$. From these results, the thermodynamic evaluations of ΔH and ΔS, which are related with Gibbs' free energy change for single Bi2212 or Bi2223 phase are performed.

100 m급 Bi-2223 고온초전도 선재 제조 및 특성 (Fabrication and performance of 100 m Class Bi-2223 High Temperature Superconducting Tape)

  • For large scale applications of high temperature superconductor (HTS) such as transmission cables, motors and generators, long length of flexible HTS conductor is required. Currently, Bi-2223 HTS tape is capable of being fabricated in longer than 100 m length by industrial processes. In this study, we fabricated 100 m 19 filamentary Bi-2223 ($Bi_{1.8}Pb_{0.4}Sr_2Ca_2O_{10+x}$) HTS tape by PIT (Power in Tube) process. Critical current(IC) of this long length tape was measured 18.5 A at 77K, self field. Critical current of 100 m length tape was mainly resulted from the increase of inhomogeneity in oxide from the increase of inhomogeneity in oxide layer. Engineering critical current (Je=Ic/total tape cross-section area) that is important factor for practical applications and fabrication cost was measured 2.2 kA/cm2.

열처리 조건에 따른 Bi-2212 초전도 튜브의 특성 (Characteristics of Bi-2212 Superconductor Tube Depending on Heat-treatment Conditions)

  • Bi-2212 HTS tube was fabricated by centrifugal forming and partial melting processes. Bi-2212 bulk tube has been optimized to achieve smooth surface and uniform thickness. The slurry was prepared in the mixing ratio of 10:1 between Bi-2212 powder and binder and initially charged into the rotating mold under the speed of 300~450 rpm. Heat-treatment was performed at the temperature ranges of 860~89$0^{\circ}C$ in air for partial melting. the HTS tube fabricated by centrifugal forming process at 89$0^{\circ}C$ under the rotating speed of 450 rpm was highly densified and the plate-like grains with more than 20${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ were well oriented along the rotating axis. The measured Tc and J$_{c}$ at 10K on specimen heat treated at 89$0^{\circ}C$ was around 85 K and 1,200 A/$\textrm{cm}^2$ respectively.y.

  • SrCaCuO와 BiPbCuO 화합물로 이루어진 이중층시료가 만들어 졌으며, 소결과정에서 나타나는 확산과 입자간의 상호작용으로 108K의 임계온도를 나타내었다. 이 시료는 820.deg. C에서 0-210 시간동안 소결되었다. 초전도체의 생성, 성장메카니즘과 임계온도의 관계가 연구되었으며, 최적조건은 820.deg. C에서 210시간 소결하고 SrCaCuO와 BiPbCuO의 도포비가 1:0.6인 시편에서 나타났다. 또한 이중층시료에서 가장 좋은 조성비는 S $r_{2}$C $a_{2}$C $u_{2}$ $O_{x}$와 B $i_{1.9}$P $b_{0.5}$C $u_{3}$ $O_{y}$ 이었다.다.

  • we prepared 70K new BiPbAgSrCaCuO superconductor used diffusion of dual layer which composed of SrCaCuO and BiPbAgCuO compound. This method is used permeation and diffusion on partial melting point of BiPbAgCuO compound. Samples were analyzed by means of X-ray diffraction analysis, Thermal analysis, critical temperature and scanning electron microscopy. It was found that the best results were obtained for spread volume (A:B=1:0.6) and sintring time 210hours.

  • Ru thin films were deposited on bi-axially textured Ni tape using rf-magnetron sputtering for a conductive buffer layer of high Tc superconductor applications. (002) textured Ni films were fabricated as the deposition temperature was over $600^{\circ}C$. Rocking curves of the films showed similar alignment to those the Ni tapes. The resistivity of the tapes fabricated below $600^{\circ}C$ was around 20$\mu\Omega$-cm which is good for the conductive layer for tape superconductor applications.

  • Suspension effect has been studied by using superconductor of BiPbSrCaCuO ceramics containing $Ag_2O$. It has been c1eared that $Ag_2O$ acts as pinning center which plays an important role to the suspension effect. Magnetic repulsive force which affects a superconductor located in magnetic flux from toroidal magnet has been investigated. It has been concluded that the suspension effect arises from the interaction between the pinning effect and the diamagnetic effect.

Currently, HTS tape that is capable of being fabricated in long length by industrial processes is the Bi-2223 HTS tape. In this study, we fabricated 19 filamentary Bi-2223($Bi_{1.8}$$Pb_{0.4}$$Sr_{2}$$Ca_{2}$$Cu_{3}$$O_{10+X}$) HTS tape with 100m length by PIT(Powder In Tube) process. Critical current(Ic) of this long length tape was measured 18.5 A at 77 K, self field and short sample Ic is 32.5 A at the same condition. Critical current of 100m length tape was decreased by about 1/3 compared to that of short tape. This was mainly resulted from the increase of non homogeneity in oxide layer.
