Nowadays, multimedia and Hypermedia become hot topics in information industry. Due to high capacity of media storage and fast communication network, it is possible to exchange text data as well as image, moving picture and voice. Especially to apply hypermedia under CALS standard environment, the relation between international standard and CALS standard needs to be considered. This study introduces conceptual background and processing model of HyTime (Hypermedia Time-based Structuring Language) which is a specification of hypermedia exchange, Hyper ODA (Hyper Open Document Architecture) which is a major multimedia communication basis, MMCF (Multimedia Communication Forum), AHM(Amsterdam Hypermedia Model), and DSRM(DAVIC System Reference Model) reference model which helps determination of hypermedia communication specification Although they are international standard, provisional standard or non-standard, it discusses the Possibility of adopting them as CALS standard. Hence, this paper chooses the best recommend for CALS among these models.

This study considers the local players in the European steel industry, whose the amounts of crude production are more or less 5 million tons per annum. They do not belong to the Pan-EU mega-group of steel mills with more than 15 million tons of crude production yearly. However, these mid-sized steel mills in European countries have been originated from the strong foundation of steel, scientifically and technically, as well as the centennial history. They concentrate on the niche market adjacent to the local area, which takes advantage of the geographical location. The companies considered here are VoestAlpine in Austria, Salzgitter in Germany, Rautaruukki in finland, and SSAB in Sweden. Their corporate strategies are compared on the basis of product mix and sales structure. And, the deep analysis for each company is performed, such as business strategies with the sales volumes, market strategies. competitiveness improvement planning. and R&D policies with the technology management. These analysis results can be benchmarked as the cases of best practices for domestic steel mills, especially mid & small sized companies, that develop business and market strategies for the sustainable growth and profitability.

Recently, the turbo charger has become an important part because it yields little displacement and high power while downsizing the engine's fuel ratio for environmental purposes. In this study, flow analysis was conducted to form the basis of data regarding the best efficiency. The axial displacement was changed from none to 25 mm by controlling the configuration of the turbo charger and the flow analyses were compared with each other. The maximum rate of the outlet of model 1 was 46.36 m/s and the maximum pressure of model 4 was 0.761946 Pa. The maximum flow rate of model 4 was 0.000187650 kg/s. This study's result should aid in the effective design of a turbo charger with high performance.

The catch and effort information for the yellow croaker from the Yellow Sea and the East China Sea during 1964 through 1971 is analyzed on the basis of the generalized production model. The equilibrium catch curve for m=0.2, the best estimate of the skew parameter, is obtained, and the maximum equilibrium catch is shown to be 37,306M/T. It appears that equilibrium catch curve for the yellow croaker is positively skewed and the fishing beyond the maximum of the yield curve will result in a less pronounced decline in yield than would be predicted by the Schaefer model.

A retrospective study of 21 cases of chest wall tumors, 12 benign and 9 malignant, was carried out to review their clinical radiological and pathological features. On age distribution, most cases [80.9%] were found in 4th to 6th decades. The sex ration [M:F] was represented as 2.5:1. Of the 21 lesions, there were 8 cases of soft tissue tumors, 4 cases of bone and cartilage origined tumors and 9 malignant tumors which included 3 metastatic tumors. The overall mortality was 22.2% and all of the deaths were found in the malignant tumors. All of the patients with benign tumors were treated by excision without recurrence. Distinction between benign and malignant chest wall tumors was not possible using radiographic criteria unless cortical destruction and involvement of soft tissue were visualized. On the basis of our analysis, we believe that all tumors of chest wall should be considered malignant until proven otherwise and that wide excision should be carried out. This is necessary not only to obtain as adequate diagnosis but also to provide the best chance for cure in both benign and malignant lesions.

Quantum theory of Niels Bohr received the Nobel Prize in Physics was rooted to the Oriental thought 'Yin-Yang and the Five Elements 陰陽五行', and architect Frank Lloyd Wright is also known as Lao Tzu's thoughts on the best architectural theory. Thus, the western architecture and oriental thought is very similar to the concept development. On the basis of this fact, the architectural philosophy of Mies van der Rohe is closely contact with Lao Tzu's Taoism, that is 'The greatest has no boundary 大象無形, Tao Te Ching chap.41' or 'The way to be is not to be 有道者 不處, Tao Te Ching chap.24'. Hence the aim of this thesis is to investigate the interrelation between the German architect Mies van der Rohe's 'almost nothing' and the Chinese philosopher Lao Tzu's 'Taoism'.

Most of the statistical signal analysis processed in the time domain and the frequency domain are based on the assumption that the signal is weakly stationary(wide sense stationary). Therefore, it is necessary to know whether the surface EMG signals processed in the statistical basis satisfy the condition of weak stationarity. The purpose of this study is to analyze the accuracy of the Run-test, modified Run-test, RA(reverse arrangement)-test, and modified RA-test for assessing surface EMG signal stationarity. Six stationary and three non-stationary signals were simulated by using sine wave, AR(autoregressive) modeling, and real surface EMG. The simulated signals were tested for stationarity using nine different methods of Run-test and RA-test. The results showed that the modified Run-test method2 (mRT2) classified exactly the surface EMG signals by stationarity with 100% accuracy. This finding indicates that the mRT2 may be the best way for assessing stationarity in surface EMG signals.

Complex structures are usually assembled from several substructures with joints connecting them together. These joints have significant effects on the dynamic behavior of the assembled structure and must be accurately modeled. In structural analysis, these joints are often simplified by assuming ideal boundary conditions. However, the dynamic behavior predicted on the basis of the simplified model may have significant errors. This has prompted the researchers to include the effect of joint stiffness in the structural model and to estimate the stiffness parameters using inverse dynamics. In the present work, structural joints have been modeled as a pair of translational and rotational springs and frequency equation of the overall system has been developed using sub-structure synthesis. It is shown that using first few natural frequencies of the system, one can obtain a set of over-determined system of equations involving the unknown stiffness parameters. Method of multi-linear regression is then applied to obtain the best estimate of the unknown stiffness parameters. The estimation procedure has been developed for a two parameter joint stiffness matrix.

The purpose of this study is to identify the notion, types and best practices of cloud computing service through a literature review and to analyze the librarians' perceptions of cloud computing service on the basis of a survey. The survey sought to check the strengths and weaknesses of cloud computing service from librarians' perspectives and to find the specific areas where cloud computing service may be effective in libraries. Some key considerations in the application of cloud computing services to library systems are also suggested.
