Performance assessment model for robot-based automated construction systems

  • An adjusted assessment model based on benefit-cost analysis (BCA) is proposed for evaluating the economic efficiency of automated construction technologies. In contrast to conventional BCA, the model does not compare monetary values, but the differences in benefits and costs between traditional and automated construction methods. To verify the usefulness of the model, it was applied to a real-scale building construction project that used a fully automated building construction system, and the face validity of the model was confirmed. The results indicate that the model can support decision makers in identifying valuable benefit factors and in assessing the cost effectiveness of the system.

  • 이 연구에서는 새로운 공공도서관의 건립 및 운영과 관련한 타당성 분석의 일환으로 대구광역시 북구지역의 사례를 중심으로 그 경제적 타당성을 분석하였다. 이를 위해 비용-편익분석과 민감도분석을 실시하였다. 분석 결과 해당지역의 공공도서관 건립 및 운영의 예상결과는 충분한 경제적 타당성을 갖는 것으로 나타났다.

  • This study empirically analyzes the economic validity of rape farmers. The analysis of economic evaluation is based on the benefit-cost analysis. Previous studies have undoubtedly expanded our understanding of the importance of substitution effects on a rapeseed for bio-fuels. However, earlier studies have mostly dealt with the concept of biodiesel's economics analysis, but this paper's attentions have been paid to the economic analysis of farm. The aim of this paper is suggesting the most appropriate policy brings about why farmhouses should cultivate the rape. To answer this question, this paper adopts a scenario analysis and the B/C ratio is used.

비용-편익을 고려한 홍수 대응 정책의 유출 저감 효과 분석 (Analysis of Runoff Reduction Effect of Flood Mitigation Policies based on Cost-Benefit Perspective)

  • 기후변화로 인하여 도시에서 발생하는 집중호우가 증가함에 따라 정부와 지자제는 기후변화 적응대책을 통해 홍수로 인한 피해를 저감시키고자 노력하고 있다. 도시 유역 침수 피해의 감소를 위해 우수관거 용량 증대와 물순환 개선을 통한 지속가능한 치수 정책인 저영향 개발 기법 등 다양한 홍수 대응 정책들이 제시되고 있다. 이러한 정책들을 이행하는데 있어 지역별 특성을 고려한 대책 수립이 필요하며, 이를 위해선 홍수 저감 효과를 비용-편익 측면에서 분석하여 국가 예산을 효율적으로 사용하여야 한다. 본 연구에서는 침수 피해 위험이 있는 도시 소유역에 적용할 수 있는 대응 정책으로 우수관거의 용량 증대와 저영향개발 기법 중 옥상녹화와 투수성 포장 기법을 선정하고 서울대학교 관악캠퍼스 유역의 홍수 저감 효과를 도시유출해석모형인 SWMM 모형으로 분석하였다. 또한, 정책별 공사 및 운영 비용을 계산하고 월류량 감소를 편익으로 고려한 비용-편익 분석을 수행하였다. 분석 결과, 투수성 포장과 우수관거 용량 확대 정책을 100% 반영하는 정책 시나리오가 유출 저감 측면에서 비용 대비 효과가 가장 우수한 시나리오로 분석되었다. 본 연구를 통해 제안된 방법론은 지역별 맞춤형 치수 계획 수립 단계에서 의사 결정을 위한 자료로 높은 활용성을 보일 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

최적화 기법을 이용한 에너지 효율 프로그램의 지원금 수준 산정 (Estimation of Rebate Level for Energy Efficiency Programs Using Optimization Technique)

  • This paper presents the evaluation procedures and the estimation method for the estimation of optimal rebate level for EE(Energy Efficiency) programs. The penetration amount of each appliance is estimated by applying price function to preferred diffusion model resulted from model compatibility test. To estimate the optimal rebate level, two objective functions which express the maximum energy saving and operation benefit are introduced and by multi-objective function which can simultaneously consider two objective functions the optimal rebate level of each appliance is estimated. And then, using the decided rebate level and each penetration amount, the priority order for reasonable investment of each high-efficiency appliance is estimated compared to the results of conventional method. Finally, using a benefit/cost analysis based on California standard practice manual, the economic analysis is implemented for the four perspectives such as participant, ratepayer impact measure, program administrator cost and total resource cost.

신기술의 경제성 평가를 위한 다세대 확산모형 연구 (Multi-Generation Diffusion Model for Economic Assessment of New Technology)

  • As cost invested in developing the specified technology is increasing, investors are paying more attention to cost to benefit analysis (CBA). One of the basic elements of CBA for new technological development is the diffusion pattern of demand of such technology. Many studies of technology evaluation have adopted a single generation model to simulate the diffusion pattern of demand. This approach, however, considers the diffusion of the new technology itself, not taking into account a newer generation that can replace the one just invented. In this paper, we show how a multi-generation technology diffusion model can be applied for more accurate CBA for information technology. Monte Carlo simulation is performed to find influential factors on the CBA of a Cybernetic Building System.

The need for upgrading the seismic performance objectives

  • The economic consequences of large earthquakes require a revolutionary change in the seismic performance objective of residential and commercial buildings. The majority of total construction costs consist of non-structural and architectural costs. Therefore, the aim of this research is to upgrade current Life Safety performance objectives and to offset adverse effects on country's economy after an occurrence of large earthquakes. However, such a proposal cannot easily prove the feasibility of cost-benefit analysis in structural design. In this paper, six generic reinforced concrete frames and dual system structures designed based on Turkish Seismic Code were used in cost analysis. The study reveals that load bearing structural systems with Immediate Occupancy performance level in seismic zones can be achieved with negligible costs.

  • Since 'The Act on Private Investment of The Infrastructure' was established in 1994, private investment as well as government's investment in transport infrastructure has been active. However investment in transport infrastructure has more risks than others' due to uncertainty both in traffic volume and in construction cost. In the current appraisal procedure of deciding transportation infrastructure investment, instead of risk management, the sensitivity analysis considering only the changes of benefit, cost and social discount rate which are main factor affecting economic feasibility is carried out. Therefore the uncertainty of various factors affecting demand, cost and benefit are not considered in feasibility study. In this study the problems in current investment appraisal system were reviewed. Using Delphi technique the major factors which have high uncertainty in feasibility study were surveyed and then improvement plan was suggested in the respective of classic 4 step demand forecasting method. The range estimation technique was also mentioned to deal with the uncertainty of the future.

부산대표도서관 건립의 경제적 타당성 분석에 관한 기초연구 (A Basic Study on the Economic Feasibility Analysis of Busan Central Library Construction)

  • 본 연구에서 부산대표도서관 건립 기본계획 연구의 일부로 수행된 건립타당성 분석 중 경제적 타당성 분석에 대한 기초적인 작업을 수행하였다. 이를 위해 비용편익 분석과 순현재가치, 내부수익률의 방법을 활용하였다. 조건부가상가치법(CVM)을 활용하여 편익분석을 실시하였으며 부산대표도서관 건립부지를 중심지 또는 외곽지로 할 때의 값을 조사하여 비교분석하였다. 분석 결과, 중심지에 건립할 경우 부산대표도서관은 충분한 경제적 타당성을 갖는 것으로 나타났으며 외곽지에 건립할 경우 그렇지 않음을 확인하였다.

농업용 저수지의 소수력 개발을 위한 경제성 분석 (Economic Feasibility Analysis for Development of Small Hydropower Using Agricultural Reservoirs)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the effect of hydropower factors (watershed, gross head), operation ratio and unit electricity cost on the benefit-cost ratio (B/C ratio) of small hydropower using agricultural reservoirs. The equation of B/C ratio was expressed as a function of watershed area, gross head, operation ratio and unit electricity cost. The benefit increased with watershed area, gross head and unit electricity cost, while the cost increased with watershed area and gross head but decreased with operation ratio. The B/C ratio increased with watershed area, gross head, operation ratio and unit electricity cost. While the effect of gross head on the B/C ratio decreased with watershed area, the effect of operation ratio and unit electricity cost on the B/C ratio increased with watershed area. The operation ratio is an important factor to affect the B/C ratio and therefore we need to develop hydropower for the heightened dams to expect high operation ratio due to continuous water release. The unit electricity cost is also an important factor to affect the B/C ratio and the B/C ratio was always below 1 unless unit electricity cost is over 60 Won/kWh under given conditions. The reservoirs with economic feasibility for small hydropower development were three in 21 when the equation of B/C ratio was appled to the study reservoirs. The results can be used to choose the appropriate reservoir with economic feasibility for development of small hydropower.
