Datong탄에 대한 Bench Scale Unit급 분류층 석탄가스화 연구 (Gasification Study of Datong Coal in a Bench Scale Unit of Entrained Flow Gasifier)

  • 0.5~1.0톤/일 용량의 BSU급 분류층 가스화기에서 중국산 Datong탄에 대한 석탄가스화 특성실험을 하였다. 가스화기의 반응온도는 1300~155$0^{\circ}C$를 유지하였으며, 실험에 사용된 슬러리농도는 62.5wt% ($H_2O$/Coal=0.6)였다. 산소 및 슬러리는 버너에 주입되기전 예일을 실시하였으며 $O_2$/Coal의 공급비는 0.8~l.2를 유지하였다. 또한 슬러리의 점도를 낮추고 유동성을 향상시키기 위하여 첨가제로서 CWM 1002와 NaOH를 각각 0.3%와 0.05% 추가하였다. 석탄가스화 실험에서 측정된 생성기체는 주로 수소, 일산화탄소 및 이산화탄소로 구성되어 있으며 미량의 메탄도 생성되었다. 생성된 가스는 반응온도가 증가함에 따라 H$_2$와 CO의 생성량은 증가하는 반면 $CO_2$의 양은 감소하였다. 산소의 공급량이 증가함에 따라 $CO_2$의 생성량은 지속적으로 증가하고 CO 및 H$_2$의 생성량은 $O_2$/Coal의 비가 약 0.9에서 최대치를 나타낸 후 감소하였으며, 생성가스 발열량은 1700~2400 kcal/N㎥을 나타내었다.

Atmospheric Turbulence Simulator for Adaptive Optics Evaluation on an Optical Test Bench

  • An adaptive optics system can be simulated or analyzed to predict its closed-loop performance. However, this type of prediction based on various assumptions can occasionally produce outcomes which are far from actual experience. Thus, every adaptive optics system is desired to be tested in a closed loop on an optical test bench before its application to a telescope. In the close-loop test bench, we need an atmospheric simulator that simulates atmospheric disturbances, mostly in phase, in terms of spatial and temporal behavior. We report the development of an atmospheric turbulence simulator consisting of two point sources, a commercially available deformable mirror with a $12{\times}12$ actuator array, and two random phase plates. The simulator generates an atmospherically distorted single or binary star with varying stellar magnitudes and angular separations. We conduct a simulation of a binary star by optically combining two point sources mounted on independent precision stages. The light intensity of each source (an LED with a pin hole) is adjustable to the corresponding stellar magnitude, while its angular separation is precisely adjusted by moving the corresponding stage. First, the atmospheric phase disturbance at a single instance, i.e., a phase screen, is generated via a computer simulation based on the thin-layer Kolmogorov atmospheric model and its temporal evolution is predicted based on the frozen flow hypothesis. The deformable mirror is then continuously best-fitted to the time-sequenced phase screens based on the least square method. Similarly, we also implement another simulation by rotating two random phase plates which were manufactured to have atmospheric-disturbance-like residual aberrations. This later method is limited in its ability to simulate atmospheric disturbances, but it is easy and inexpensive to implement. With these two methods, individually or in unison, we can simulate typical atmospheric disturbances observed at the Bohyun Observatory in South Korea, which corresponds to an area from 7 to 15 cm with regard to the Fried parameter at a telescope pupil plane of 500 nm.

임시 고정성 보철물 제작용 레진의 굽힘강도 (Flexual strength of resins for provisional fixed prostheses)

  • Provisional fixed partial dentures(FPDs) are an important part of many prosthodontic treatment procedures. These provisional fixed prostheses must fulfill biologic, mechanical, and esthetic requirements to be considered successful. Consideration of all these factors and requirements are important because provisional resin restorations may be worn over a long period to assess the results of periodontal and endodontics therapies, and also during the restorative phase of implant reconstructive procedures. This in vitro study examined flexual strength of four resins commonly used for fixed provisional prostheses. The effects of polymerization conditions were also evaluated. The four resins tested were : Caulk Temporary bridge resin(L.D. Caulk Co. Dentsply International Millford), Jet(Lang Dental Mfg. Co. Chicago. ILL. U.S.A), Alike (Coe Laboratories. Inc. Chicago. ILL. U.S.A) and Tokuso Curefast (Coe Laboratories. Inc. Chicago. ILL. U.S.A) The test specimens were 65mm long, 14mm wide, and 3.5mm thickness. 10 specimens of four resins were cured for 15 minutes at atmospheric pressure and 10 specimens of four resins were cured at an additional pressure of approximately 20 psi. A total of 80 specimens were prepared. The flexual strength was determined by three-point bending test. Data were analysed with the Paired samples T-test and Tukey student-range test Within the limitations imposed in this study, the following conclusions can be drawn : 1. Under the condition of bench curing, Caulk Temporary bridge resin showed the highest flexual strength. In decreasing order, the flexual strength of the other materials was as follows : Jet, Tokuso Curefast, Alike, and Caulk Temporary bridge resin demonstrated significantly higher strength than other resins. 2. Under the condition of pressure curing, Jet showed the highest flexual strength. In decreasing order, the flexual strength of the other materials was as follows : Caulk Temporary bridge resin, Tokuso Curefast, and Alike. There were all statistically significant differences among four resins 3. There was a statistically significant difference between bench- and pressure-cured specimens in all four materials.

  • Cross-linked polystyrene supported aluminium triflate (Ps-Al(OTf)$_3$) was found to be an efficient and chemoselective heterogeneous Lewis acid catalyst for the direct conversion of arenes to sulfones using sulfonic acids as sulfonylating agents. The solid acid catalyst is stable (as a bench top catalyst) and can be easily recovered and reused without appreciable change in its efficiency.

  • Oxygen sensor taken from the aftertreatment systems of 4 vehicles which had been aged in domestic field examined for aging effects on emissions using a idel engine bench. also the artificial sensor signal generated by function generator was supplied to ECU, instead of oxygen sensor to simulate aging effects of oxygen sensor. This study shows that reduction of amplitude, deformation and shift of mean value of aged sensors seriously affect on the engine out emissions and the performance of TWC.

  • 본 연구에서는 검증된 Bench급 석탄 가스화 공정에 대하여 개발된 동적모사 프로그램을 중잔유 가스화 공정 모델에 적용하여 가스화 성능에 크게 영향을 미치는 주요변수, 즉 시료 투입비, 산소 공급비, steam 공급비 및 압력조절밸브 열림궤도의 영향을 파악하고, 공정변수들의 동특성을 해석하였다. 가스화기의 부하변동에 따른 주요 공정 변수들의 변동경향 및 시상수에 대한 신뢰성 있는 모사결과를 얻을 수 있었으며, 개발된 모델을 사용하여 중잔유 가스화 공정설계를 위한 기초 자료를 마련하였다.

  • 최근 보급이 확대되고 있는 HVDC는 설치 당시의 상황 등에 따라 제어기가 달라지게 되므로, HVDC 프로젝트마다 제어기가 달라지게 된다. 따라서 PSS/E 프로그램에는 HVDC 설비를 위한 전용의 HVDC 모델을 개발할 수 있는 Model Writing 기법을 제공하고 있다. 하지만 국내에서는 UDM 개발 기술이 널리 전파되지 않아 UDM 기술기반이 취약한 상태이다. 이에 본 논문에 CIGRE HVDC 벤치 마크 모델에 대한 UDM을 개발하여 전용의 HVDC 모델을 개발하기 위한 기반기술을 확보하였다.

  • 현재 미국과 유럽, 일본 등에서는 실내 벽 및 천장 마감재에 관하여 성능 기준 설계에 의한 새로운 평가방법이 활발하게 연구되고 있다. 예를 들면 시험에 소요되는 시간과 경비를 절감하고자 Bench-scale test 결과를 이용하여 화재위험성을 예측하는 내장재의 Performance-based fire safety design에 관한 연구가 진행되고 있다. 한편, 성능기준 화재안전 설계를 적용하기 위하여 현재 사용하는 대부분의 존 모델 프로그램은 공간화재시 가연성 마감재의 발화 및 화염확산 및 위험성을 충분히 고려하지 못하고 있다.
