  • Transmission error for a stepping motor-timing belt drive system is investigated experimentally and analytically. From FFT analysis of the experimental results, it is found that the transmission error consists of three periodic errors : (1) error by the stepping motor per one resolution angle theta.$_{m}$, (2) error by the pulley eccentricity per one revolution theta.$_{e}$, and (3) error by the meshing effect between the belt and the pulley teeth per one pitch revoltion theta.$_{p}$. In order to investigate the effects of some design parameters on the transmission error, the dynamic models of the stepping motor-timing belt drive system are derived by Bondgraph. According to the simulation results, as the belt total tension increases, theta.$_{m}$ and theta.$_{e}$ decrease due to the nonlinearity of the belt. In adition, the numerical and experimental results show that theta.$_{m}$ and theta.$_{e}$ of the loaded case are larger than those of the unloaded case. The analytical results are in good accordance with the experimental results.sults.s.sults.

  • Because of their lower cost, higher speed, and longer travel, a belt drive system are quite desirable over screw driven system. However, a belt drive system are inherently difficult to control due to belt flexibility, friction, vibration, backlash and other non-linearities. This thesis presents servo control algorithm and the designing method of controller appliable to a belt drive system. In this paper, a LQ servo controller for a belt drive system is proposed to accomplish an optimal design of improved control system. In this scheme a mathematical model for the control system is obtained in state space form. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed servo controller was verified through the computer simulation results.

  • This study analyzes the economic effects of reduction of green-belt. Green-belt is a kind of land which is restricted to be developed into housings. It is important for social welfare. It affects the social welfare by two routes. One way is through the housing market process. Development of green-belt into housings increases housing supplies and lowers rents. The other is that it improves the living condition by increasing green spaces. Therefore, the development of green-belt to housing can Improve or worsen the social welfare. This paper analyzes its welfare effects by simulations. The results of the paper show that reduction of green-belt increases housing supply and lowers the rent and asset prices. The social welfare is improved in the model.

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate the differences of visual image by variations in the location of the waistline and width of the belt of the basic skirt. The stimuli are 21 samples: 7 variations of the location of the waistline and 3 variations of the width of the belt. The data has been obtained from 43 fashion design majors. The data has analyzed by frequency, factor analysis, anova, scheffe's test and the MCA method. The results of this study are as follows. The visual image by variations of the location of the waistline and width of the belt is composed of 3 factors: attention, function, attraction. The visual image by variations of the width of the belt has partial significant differences. The visual image by variations in the location of the waistline has significant differences in all factors. Function shows the interaction between the location of the waistline and width of the belt. However, attention and attraction don't show the interaction between the location of the waistline and width of the belt ; the location of the waistline tends to be the main effect.

  • The purpose of this study was to study visual evaluation by the variation in the location of the belt of skirt and slacks. The results were as follows: 1. The visual evaluation by variation in location of the belt of skirt and slacks were classified by 4 factor: attractive image, horizontal effect, ordinary image, vertical effect. 2. As the study investigated differences by each factor according to a belt location of a skirt and slacks, the attractive image factor showed a bigger difference than any other factors. Especially, the study evaluated that a low location of the belt exhibited a attractive image for a skirt than slacks. 3. 9cm and -3cm or -5cm displayed the slenderest and smallest look respectively for a skirt and slacks in a horizontal visual effect. -1cm, -5cm and -1cm were revealed tallest and longest look respectively for a skirt and slacks in a vertical visual effect. 4. The variation in location of the belt had more effects on a visual image than a visual effect.

  • In order to detect and monitor the broken cords of steel-cord belt from being damaged by impact of large lump of materials and the corrosion of steel cord, we developed a non-contact magnetic coil detection system. This measures the deterioration of reinforcing cables in steel cord conveyor belt which transport the ores in raw material plant. In this research, magnetic coil sensor of broken-cord detection system has exciting part and sensing part. The broken-cord detection system is operated by supplying a transmitter coil with electric power to generate magnetic field, and then the change of induced voltage is detected in each receiver coils due to resultant magnetic flux effected by the broken steel cords at the inside of the conveyor belt. By the informations such as the position and size of the broken steel cords obtained by SCBMS(Steel Cord Belt Monitoring System), it is expected that not only the span of belt life will be lengthened, but also this system can enable operators to plan scheduled maintenance and prevent the enlargement of damaged parts in steel cord belt at an early stage

  • This study examines Geumgwan Gaya's headgear, belt, and footwear. The relics excavated from tombs were examined first, then earthenware and clay figurines, followed by the visual data of related neighboring countries. The results are as follows. The headgear of Geumgwan Gaya, identified in the relics, is daegwan (帶輪式立飾冠) and lip (笠). Daegwan is a diadem with branch-shaped ornaments. It has an organic cap with fabric and leather as well as ties the strings to both ends of the diadem. Lip can be seen in the mounted figure of the earthenware. In neighboring countries, the top of lip is round or straight, but Geumgwan Gaya's lip is pointed and curved slightly backward. In addition, from neighboring countries' data, it is considered that the conical hat and gun (巾) are worn in Geumgwan Gaya. The belt is made of cloth or leather. Geumgwan Gaya also uses a belt with an animal-shaped hook and Jin style belt. Jin style belt shows the association with three-Yan culture of the Seonbi people in patterns and forms. Footwear of Geumgwan Gaya is li (履) and boots. Li included leather shoes, lacquer shoes, straw shoes and wooden shoes. In addition, there are leather boots decorated with round ornaments.

  • In this paper, the optimum location of the belt truss-outrigger for a combined system of framed tube, shear core and outrigger-belt truss is calculated. The optimum location is determined by maximization of the first natural frequency. The framed tube is modeled using a non-prismatic cantilever beam with hollow box cross section. The governing differential equation is solved using the weak form integral equations and the natural frequencies of the structure are calculated. The graphs are introduced for quick calculation of the first natural frequency. The location of the belt truss-outrigger that maximizes the first natural frequency of the structure is introduced as an optimum location. The structure is modeled using SAP-2000 finite elements software. In the modelling, the location of the belt truss-outrigger is changed along the height of the structure. With various locations of the outrigger, the lateral deflection of the all stories and axial force in the columns of the outer tube are calculated. The analysis is repeated by locating the outrigger-belt truss at the optimum location. The analysis results are compared and effect of the optimum location on the lateral deflection and the shear lag phenomena are investigated.

  • The Belt with Rhinoceros-Horn Ornaments(known as a seodae in Korean) from the family of Princess Deokon's descendants housed in the National Hangeul Museum underwent emergency treatment for a special exhibition in 2019 upon the request of the National Hangeul Museum. Priority was given to the restoration of the original form of the severely damaged belt and the repair of its detached horn ornaments. Prior to the conservation treatment, researchers conducted a theoretical study of the belt with rhinoceros-horn adornments to learn the names of its structural components and the changes in form that the type experienced by period, thereby establishing a plan for conservation treatment and setting a direction. Among the belts worn by officials from the Joseon dynasty, rhinoceros-horn ornaments were attached to those of officials of the first rank and were considered the most precious behind the king's belt with its jade ornaments. The rhinoceros horn adorning the belt is classified into three categories according to quality. This belt has horn adornments of the highest quality, falling under the "grape design" category with dark brown dots concentrated in the center. The belt has a rectangular shape and lacks a buckle, reflecting a popular form from the nineteenth century. The structure of the belt was identified over the process of conservation treatment, offering information about its method of production. In addition, comparison of the relic with belts with rhinoceros-horn ornaments depicted in Joseon-period portraits of officials allowed the identification of changes in formal features and the detailed structures of belts with rhinoceros-horn ornaments by period. It confirmed that the belt subject to conservation treatment shows the features of belts with rhinoceros-horn ornaments produced in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
