This study proposes an advanced type of a micropile system. The proposed micropile system consists of perfobond ribs installed steel rod to improve shear capacity between the thread and the grout, and partially expanded drill holes to increase resistance capacity between the grout and the ground. This study contains experimental evaluations on the proposed micropile system to verify the shear capacity of perfobond rib installed on the steel rod and the load-carrying capacity of shear key created by the partially expanded drill hole. Push-out tests were conducted on a rolled screw thread and steel rods which perfobond ribs are installed instead of rolled screw, in order to compare their load-carrying capacity and behavioral characteristics. As a result, it was confirmed that the perfobond-rib steel rods show much superior structural behavior in terms of initial stiffness, ultimate load, and ductile behavior.
The author conducted a literature review to better characterize the current state of knowledge regarding the relationship between psychological and behavioral factors and cardiovascular disease. This review focus on several problems : Hypertension, coronary artery disease such as myocardial infarction and angina pectoris. We describe model for understanding the relation-ship of psychological factors to the disease, review the results of relevant research studies and provide recommendation for further research.
This paper introduces a study for procedurally generating the behavior of objects in a virtual environment at runtime. This study was initiated to enable the behavioral model of objects in virtual reality applications to evolve in response to user behavior at runtime. Our approach is to describe the behavior of an object as a behavior tree, and to make a node of the behavior tree change to another type if a certain condition is satisfied. We defined four types of node changes: "parameterized", "probabilistic", "alternate", and "variant". We experimented with a virtual environment that includes a variety of simple procedural elements to explore the possibilities of our approach. As a result of the implementation, if an optimization algorithm that can select and apply the optimized procedural elements in response to the user's behavior is complemented, it is confirmed that more intelligent objects and agents can be implemented in virtual reality applications.
This paper presents the design and implementation of SVSIM (Sogang VHDL SIMulator), a multi-level VHDL simulator, designed for the construction of an integrated VGDL design environment. The internal model of SVSIM is the hierarchical C/DFG which is extended from C/DFG to include the network hierarchy and local/glabal control informations. Hierarchical network is not flattened for simulation, resulting in the reduction of space complexity. The predufined/user-defined types except for the record type and the predefined/user-defined attributes are supported in SVSIM. Algorithmic-level descriptions can be siumlated by the support of recursive procedure/function calls. Input stimuli can be generated by command script in stimuli file or in VHDL source code. Experimential results show SVSIM can be efficiently used for the simulation of the pure behavioral descriptions, structural descriptions or mixture of these.
Purpose: This study's purpose is to classify and analyze caregivers' recognition of the elderly suicidal intents. Methods: This study uses applied Q-methodology to measure human subjectivity in depth. Concretely, 35 statements are composed in depth interviews and literature investigation. Then, Q-cards and distributive chart of Q-sampling were given to 25 caregivers randomly-selected, who were asked to arrange them on a 7-score based. After coding Q-factor analysis is carried out with the PC-QUANL program. Results: Four types of indicators of the elderly suicidal intents were identified by the caregivers. These are Knowledge-based recognition, Behavioral measure based recognition, Negative comprehension and Sympathy. Conclusion: In this study, four types of recognition were yielded among the caregivers and the characteristics of each type were analyzed. These findings may be useful in assessing suicidal potential and nursing interventions.
The purpose of this research is to discribe the stress in housing of a three generation family. Data were collected through a questionnaire survey form 467 housewives living in a three generation family households. Major finding were as follow: The female elderly was the most popular type. Married children tended to live together with the forced feeling of responsibility rather than with a volunteering attitude. Many good points steming from three generations living together. however, were recognized by the housewives. This will provide suport to reevaluationg the value of the elderly in this industrial society. The felt stress and expressed various undesirable behavioral adjustments and constraints in relation to the stress. Several planning concepts including privacy, storage space, and soundproof were suggested to enchance the quality of residential environment for the family.
Domestic hotel businesses are confronted with new market circumstances. Clear accounting and moral management in company which have been reserved or ignored during the past high economic growth period were emphasized. As global standard such as international standard of accounting system, clear accounting, international standard management, and flexibility of employment are emphasized, which is different management is now accomplishing. During these system changes, organization member's identity was threatened a lot. So organization members were required to adopt new environment. Hotel have influence on organizational accomplishment, thought and behavioral response of organization members according to cultural type and share of organization culture. This study are focused culinary team culture as subculture in hotel. What kind of culture more effective to the culinary group\ulcorner What kind of culture are grouped each hotel, include difference imported brand hotel and domestic brand hotel.
Internalizing and externalizing behavior problems may be more common in children with disability families but rarely known is the magnitude of the problem and the risk factors compared to those in children with non-disability families. This study was undertaken to examine if socio-economic factors, parental health, and family functioning affect children's internalizing and externalizing behaviors differently between two comparison groups. The research literature on childhood behaviors was briefly reviewed. The data was derived from the Mental Health of Children and Young People in Great Britain, 2004. Regression analyses provide evidence that the family type, economic status, and income level are uniquely associated with an increased risks of internalizing or externalizing behavior problems in children with disability families, whereas sex, age, family size, parental health, and family functioning factors have similar impacts on the child's internalizing or externalizing variances between two groups. Intervention is desirable to address the concerns influencing internalizing and externalizing performances among children with disability or non-disability families.
Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a neurobehavioral developmental disorder characterized by a persistent pattern of inattention and/or hyperactivity, as well as forgetfulness, poor impulse control or impulsivity, and distractibility. The recommended evaluation includes documenting the type and severity of ADHD symptoms, verifying the presence of normal vision and hearing, screening for comorbid psychological conditions, reviewing the child's developmental history and school performance, and applying objective measures of cognitive function. Prevailing opinion characterizes ADHD as a disorder of executive function attributable to abnormal dopamine transmission in the frontal lobes and frontostriatal circuitry. A clearly defined etiology remains unknown, but studies suggest a strong genetic link. The aim of treatment is to decrease symptoms, enhance functionality, and improve well-being for the child and his or her close contacts. Stimulants remain the pharmacological agents of first choice for the management of ADHD, and psychosocial, behavioral and educational strategies that enhance specific behaviors may improve educational and social functioning in children with ADHD.
The incidence of childhood obesity has increased dramatically. Childhood obesity is an increasing health problem because of its strong associations with chronic health problems in children and adults. These health problems significantly contribute to the development of common chronic diseases in later life, including hypertension, type2 diabetes, hyperinsulinemia, coronary heart disease, and other psychological disorders. So it is an important issue to prevent and treat obesity during childhood and adolescent. Diet and exercise are the cornerstones of treatment for obesity and related complications. For obese children, some clinical trials have shown improvement with diet, exercise, and /or behavioral interventions. Promising interventions for high-risk individuals, such as bariatric surgery and novel pharmacological agents, also require rigorous assessment with attention to long-term patient important outcomes. There are various pharmacological approaches to the treatment of obesity in the adolescent population some of which have FDA approval. In the article we discuss pharmacological approaches to guide the treatment of obesity in the pediatric population, including risks of treatment, monitoring of potential side effects.
