당뇨환아가 지각하는 자기효능과 환자역할행위이행에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Relationship of Perceived Self-efficacy and Sick-role behavioral Compliance in Diabetic children)

  • This study was designed to identify the relationship of perceived self-efficacy and sick-role behavioral compliance in diabetic children. The forty-two diabetic children participating in this study were selected from outpatients. he period of data collection was August 8 to December 9, 1994. Collected data were analyzed by means of chi-square test, t-test, Pearson correlation using SPSS/P $C^+. The result are summarized as follows : 1. The mean score of perceived self-efficacy was 3. 21 that of sick-role behavioral compliance 3.17. 2. Perceived self-efficacy and sick-role behavioral compliance had a positive correlation which was statistically significant(r=0.77, p<0.001). 3. There were statistically significant difference in perceived self-efficacy according to age(p<0. 01) and acknowledgment of prescribed calories in the diabetic diet(p<0.001). 4. There were statistically significant difference in sick-role behavioral compliance according to age (p<0.01) and acknowledgment of prescribed calories in the diabetic diet (p<0.001). These results suggest that perceived self-efficacy is an important variable in the compliance of diabetic children. Nursing intervention needs to be directed at promoting perceived self-efficacy to maintain sickrole behavioral compliance for diabetic children. Therefore programs of nursing intervention should be revised in order to promote perceived self-efficacy in diabetic children.en.

Fruit and vegetable intakes in relation to behavioral outcomes associated with a nutrition education intervention in preschoolers

  • BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: Although a lot of effort has been put into increasing fruit and vegetable intakes in preschool children, vegetable intake in this group is still low. This study investigated whether nutrition education focusing on fruit and vegetable intakes can affect preschoolers' fruit and vegetable intakes as well as their behavioral outcomes. SUBJECTS/METHODS: Thirty-five preschoolers (54.3% boys, n = 19) aged 4-6 years residing in Seoul underwent weekly nutrition education intervention (8 sessions) between May and July 2016. Intakes of fruits and vegetables were measured during pre and post-intervention. At snack time, fresh fruit (150 g) and vegetable (120 g) snacks were distributed to each child by teachers. The remaining portions of the snacks were weighed and recorded for each child. Behavioral outcomes were measured by applying Child behavior checklist 1.5-5 and the Diagnostic and statistical manual of mental disorders. RESULTS: During post intervention, vegetable intake increased from $36.15{\pm}30.64g$ to $48.01{\pm}31.23g$ (P = 0.010). Among the emotional and behavioral problems measured by parents, levels of total problems (P = 0.001), internalizing (P = 0.004), externalizing (P = 0.003), anxiety and depression (P = 0.001), and aggressive behavior (P = 0.005) decreased. Anxiety (P = 0.026) score, as measured by teachers, also decreased. CONCLUSIONS: Nutrition education of preschoolers regarding the intakes of fruits and vegetables had a positive effect on preschoolers' vegetable intake as well as on their emotional and behavioral outcomes. A long-term, large-scale study with a broader study design is warranted to further investigate the role of fruit and vegetable intake in cognitive development and behavior of preschoolers.

신생아 행동평가법을 이용한 어머니 교육이 영아에 대한 어머니의 지각에 미치는 효과 (Effects of maternal education of infant's behavioral characteristics on maternal perception of her infant and the infant's behavioral development)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect on maternal perception of her infant and the infant's behavior development through maternal education designed to provide information of the capabilities and the individual characteristics of her infant. The subjects were 48 pairs of normal infants and mothers at three different hospitals, 24 pairs for the intervention group and 24 pairs of the control group. The survey was conducted from July 30 to October 6, 2001. The results of this study were as the following. A maternal perception of her infant was significantly different between the two groups, more positive in the intervention group than in the control group. The information and understanding of behavioral characteristics of the infant are an important factor influencing maternal perception for her infant and general development of the infant. On the basis of these results, the educational intervention method of this study may be worth utilizing in nursing practice. The practitioners of hospitals have to establish a system that it offers an education of understanding the infant's behavioral characteristics during the hospitalization after delivery.

  • 고령자들의 정신적/육체적 건강 유지를 위해 디지털 메디신 (Digitial Medicine)의 일환으로 일상에서의 운동 프로그램을 사용하는 시도가 다양하게 이루어지고 있다. 특히 웨이러블 기기에 부착된 센서를 활용한 운동 처방과 분석 방법은 IoT 기술을 헬스케어 분야에 적용시키는 대표적인 예로 제시된다. 본 연구에서는 현재 수원시 노인정신건강센터에서 운영하는 운동 프로그램에서 기존에 수기로 수집되고 작성되는 데이터 분석의 신뢰성을 개선하고 노인들의 운동 동기를 촉구하고자 스마트밴드와 BLE 스캐너 장치를 활용하여 IoT(Internet of Thing)기반 행동 인터벤션(intervention) 시스템을 구현한다. 실제 운동 처방과 운동 데이터 분석을 통해 행동 인터벤션 시스템을 테스트하여 데이터 수집과 분석의 무결성을 검증하고 시스템의 개발과 적용에 대한 일련의 과정을 제시한다.

만성폐쇄성폐질환 환자의 호흡재활을 위한 재가 자가관리 증진 중재 개발 (Developing a Home-based Self-management Support Intervention for Pulmonary Rehabilitation in Patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop a home-based self-management support intervention (SMSI) for enhancing pulmonary rehabilitation (PR) in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in Korea. Methods: This methodological study was conducted by following these 4 steps: constructing the preliminary draft of a home-based SMSI from existing recommendation and a literature review on PR and self-management interventions; testing content validity with 6 experts in COPD; exploring clinical applicability of the intervention by applying it to 4 COPD patients; determining the final intervention. Results: The final intervention included 4 components and contents identified from the literature review as essentials for self-management of COPD patients: education; exercise training and practice including breathing, muscle strengthening and aerobic exercises; cognitive behavioral strategies including informative self-decision making, collaborative goal setting and supportive advice; and action planning for exacerbation. The intervention was designed to be run by a trained nurse and had 8 weekly sessions consisting of three 60-minute face-to-face sessions and five 20-minute phone-call sessions. Conclusion: The intervention developed in this study incorporates essential components of self-management, i.e. action plan and cognitive behavioral strategies, and will contribute to enhancing and maintaining effects of PR by increasing self-management in COPD patients.

정신건강 고위험군 대학생을 위한 인지행동치료적 개입의 개발 및 효과 확인 예비 연구 (A Pilot Study on the Development and the Effect of a Cognitive-Behavioral Intervention for Undergraduates at Mental Health High Risk)

  • 연구목적 본 연구는 정신건강 고위험군 대학생을 위한 인지행동치료 기반 개입 프로그램의 개발 및 정신건강 요인들에 대한 치료 효과 확인을 목표로 하였다. 방 법 본 프로그램은 대학생 특정 개입으로서 우울 등의 문제 증상을 감소시키고 회복탄력성 및 긍정정서를 증진시키기 위해 개발되었다. 총 26명의 고위험군 대학생을 대상으로 총 8주동안의 집단 프로그램을 진행하여, 우울, 회복탄력성, 삶의 만족도, 긍정 및 부정적 정서의 사전, 사후 변화를 측정하여 비교하였다. 결 과 본 프로그램의 주요 목표 증상인 우울 점수는 개입 전에 비해 개입 후 유의미하게 감소하였다(t=3.51, p=0.002). 또한, 대학생들의 회복탄력성(t=-3.65, p=0.001)과 삶의 만족도(t=-3.00, p=0.006)와 같은 보호 요인 또한 유의미하게 향상되었다. 한편, 부적 정서는 개입 전후 유의미한 차이가 관찰되지 않았으며(t=-0.94, p=0.356), 긍정 정서는 개입 후 감소하였다(t=2.28, p=0.031). 결 론 본 연구는 집단 프로그램 시행 후 참가자들의 우울 증상이 감소하고, 회복탄력성 및 삶의 만족도가 증가함을 확인하였다. 이는 본 프로그램이 대학생 정신건강 고위험군의 문제 증상 및 보호 요인에 효과적으로 개입할 수 있음을 시사한다.

  • Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder marked by impaired social communication and repetitive, restricted behaviors and activities. The prevalence of ASD has been increasing for the past 2 decades, but evidence-based therapeutic approaches are lacking for patients with ASD. To date, there is no cure for the core symptoms of ASD, and the existing treatments focus on improving the patient's function and adaptation by using behavioral intervention methods. Behavioral interventions have been proven to show the greatest effect when applied before the age of 2 years, for at least 40-60 hours per week. Many clinicians and ASD families are unfamiliar with the treatment methods, and consequently, may seek unproven and potentially hazardous methods. The purpose of this article was to present an extensive and updated review on evidence-based ASD behavioral interventions that are commonly used in clinical settings.

Review of Early Intervention for Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder: Focused on Randomized Controlled Trials

  • Early identification and intervention for autism spectrum disorder (ASD) were reported to be important for outcomes or clinical courses. However, there have been a few robust evidences for effectiveness of early intervention until now. This review aims to identify the effectiveness of early intervention by investigating the randomized controlled trial (RCT) of early intervention for autism. There are some RCT studies using behavioral program. Although there are some significant findings, the outcome measurements and small sample size are the limitations. Further studies are needed.

  • Purpose: This study was to develop a nursing intervention for infants nursing. Meridian massage and to investigate its effects on the behavioral state of the infants, mothering role satisfaction and mother-infant attachment. Method: This study was conducted using a nonequivalent control group non-synchronized design in quasi experimental basis. Infants and mothers from Y health center were selected for the experimental group(17) and control group(14). Data were collected from August 11, 2005 to February 24, 2006. Infants in the experimental group were given Meridian massage education and practice for 50min three times a week for 3 weeks. Results: For behavioral state, when inactive infants in the experimental group showed a statistical significant difference by being in a greater state of alert as compared to the control group. The attachment of mother and infant was significantly higher in the experimental group than the control group. Satisfaction with mothering role was significantly higher in the experimental group than the control group. Conclusion: Meridian massage is an effective nursing intervention to improve positive behavioral state in infants and also in maternal-infant interaction.

Effects of Socio-Demographic Characteristics and Peer Relations on the Emotional, Behavioral, and Comorbid Disorder Symptoms in Low-SES Children

  • The current study examined the effects of socio-demographic characteristics and peer relations on the emotional, behavioral, and comorbid disorder symptoms among low-low-SES children, using the Young Lives Survey: an International Study of Childhood Poverty: Round 1, 2002. Participants were 1,000 8-year-old children (502 boys and 498 girls) from low-low-SES families. Data were analyzed using ANOVA, t-tests, post hoc test (Scheffe's method), correlations, and multiple logistic regression analyses according to the analysis strategy. There was a moderate correlation between selected socio-demographic variables and emotional/behavioral disorder symptoms, and the caregiver's marital status, child's health compared to others, child's work status corresponded to significant differences in their emotional/behavior levels. Regarding the logistic regression analysis, in addition to the effects of socio-demographic variables reflecting the characteristics of less-developed countries, marital status, child's working status, and conflicts with peers proved to be detrimental to emotional, behavioral, or comorbid disorder symptoms in low-SES children, who have been lack quality parenting, social resources, and child human rights. Results indicated the need to develop health care services that would address those problems and appropriate intervention and prevention programs targeting children in low-income families. Moreover, careful assessment and intervention for child's health status, child's working status and peer relationship problems are suggested as possible strategies for helping children at risk of exhibiting further problematic behaviors.
