The effect of Servicescape on the Customer Orientation of Beauty Professionals

  • The purpose of this research study is to analyze the effect of servicescape on customer orientation of skin beauty professionals. To attain the purpose, this study conducted self-administered survey of skin beauty professionals who have been working in Seoul cities and Gyeonggi provinces. by handing out total 438 copies of questionnaire. But 400 copies except for 38 ones of those respondents deemed to be unfaithful responses were analyzed and researched. A total of 400 questionnaire responses were used for data analyses. According to the results of factor analysis, Factor analysis revealed five factors of servicescape-surrounding factors, functionality, aesthetics, safety, and convenience- and three factors of customer orientation of beauty professional-understanding customer needs, beauty professional needs to offer services and meeting customer needs of beauty professionals. The result of regression analysis revealed that as for understanding customer needs of skin beauty professionals, convenience and functionality, safety and aesthetics has significant effects. All five factors of servicescape, safety, aesthetics, functionality, surrounding factors and conveniences, have significant effects on meeting customer needs. Regarding beauty professional needs to offer services, safety, functionality and convenience factor were significant factors. The study is to provide preliminary data on information useful in developing the method for managing and improving servicescape.

미용 산업체 종사자의 성취동기 관련 요인에 관한 질적 연구 (A Qualitative Study on Factors related to Achievement Motivation of Beauty Industry Professionals)

  • The purpose of this study is to research the achievement motivation of beauty industry professionals. The research method involved one-on-one, in-depth interviews with 7 hair professionals, 7 make-up professionals and 7 skincare professionals. The in-depth interviews were recorded in their entirety, and the recorded content was transcribed and organized. Analysis of the transcribed data involved encoding, deconstructing and re-composing the interview content. Research results revealed 5 factors that were extracted to explain the achievement motivation of beauty industry professionals. Four of the 5 factors were similar to the results of precedent studies, but the remaining factor presented unique characteristics. The 4 common factors were "motive to pursue success", "motive to avoid failure", "motive to meet challenges" and "goal-oriented motive". The factor discovered in this study was "relationship-oriented motive", which is characterized by the tendency to place importance in relationships with superiors, colleagues and customers based on the working characteristics of beauty industry professionals. Based on the results of this study, beauty industry professionals can learn about goals that must be met in various stages in order to establish a system for accomplishing those goals, implement an emotional education program for mental balance, introduce a competitive team system, and carry out a relationship improvement program to increase work efficiency.

뷰티 종사자의 이미지메이킹 효능감에 의한 긍정적 사고, 자아존중감 및 직무몰입의 구조적 관계 (The Structural Relationships between Job-Engagement, Self-Esteem, Positive Thinking on Image-Making Efficacy of Beauty Professionals)

  • 소비자와 대면의 접점이 넓은 뷰티종사자의 이미지는 소비자들에게 긍정적인 영향력을 발휘하여 소비자의 만족도 및 충성도를 높여줄 수 있는 중요한 요소이다. 본 연구는 뷰티종사자들의 이미지메이킹 효능감에 의해 자아존중감과 긍정적 사고 및 직무몰입의 영향력과 관계성을 파악해보는데 목적이 있다. 본 연구의 방법 및 범위는 이미지메이킹 효능감, 긍정적 사고, 자아존중감, 직무몰입에 관련된 이론적 연구와 함께 서울과 경기지역에 소재하는 뷰티종사자를 대상으로 설문조사를 진행하였으며, SPSS 23.0, Amos 23.0 프로그램을 활용하여 인구통계학적 특성, 문항내적합치도 계수 산출, 기술 통계분석, Pearson 상관분석, 확인적 요인분석, 구조방정식모형을 적용한 연구모형의 직접경로계수 추정, 간접효과를 검증을 위한 Sobel Test를 실시하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 뷰티종사자의 이미지메이킹 효능감은 자아존중감, 긍정적 사고, 직무몰입에 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 뷰티종사자의 자아존중감은 긍정적 사고 및 직무몰입에 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 뷰티종사자의 긍정적 사고는 직무몰입에 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 자아존중감 및 긍정적 사고가 뷰티종사자의 이미지메이킹 효능감과 직무몰입 간의 관계를 매개하는 것으로 나타났다.

  • 연구목적은 불량고객 행동지각이 감정부조화 및 직무열의와 경영성과에 미치는 영향을 실증적 연구 하였다. 표본은 뷰티종사자327명이다. 연구방법은 빈도분석, 요인분석, 신뢰도분석, 상관관계분석, 단순회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 불량고객 행동지각이 감정부조화 및 직무열의가 상실되는 것으로 확인되었다. 둘째, 불량고객 행동지각이 감정부조화에 통계학적 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 셋째, 불량고객 행동지각이 경영성과에 통계학적 유의한 영향을 미쳤다. 넷째, 감정부조화가 직무열의에 통계학적 유의한 영향을 미쳤다. 다섯째, 경영성과가 직무열의에 영향을 미치는 것으로 보아 통계학적 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 따라서 불량고객 행동지각은 뷰티종사자의 감정부조화로 인해 직무열의 및 경영성과에 부정적 요인을 주는 것으로 사료된다.

미용분야 종사자의 직업소명이 직무만족과 자기계발에 미치는 영향 (Effects of the vocation of beauty worker on job satisfaction and self-development)

  • The survey targeted 270 men and women in their from their 20s-50s who live in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of the vocation of beauty worker on job satisfaction and self-development. The questionnaire was administered from January 5th to March 10th, 2020, and 243 responses were used for statistical analysis. 27 unanswered or unfaithful questionnaires were disregarded. Using SPSS WIN 21.0 was applied for statistical processing. First, the data was analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis, factor analysis, and reliability verification, For validity verification, one-way variance analysis, correlation analysis, and simple regression analysis were used. The results of this study are as follows. First, upon examining the hypothesis that vocation has a positive (+) effect on job satisfaction, a significant positive (+) influence was shown, and it was found that it was determined vocation is an important factor in job satisfaction for beauty industry professionals. Second, upon examining the hypothesis that vocation has a positive (+) effect on self- development, a significant positive (+) correlation was found between the self-development of beauty industry professionals and job satisfaction. Third, upon examining the hypothesis that occupational vocation has a positive (+) effect on self- development, a significant positive (+) correlation was shown between self-development and job satisfaction of beauty industry professionals.

An Analysis on the Relationships between Professions in the Beauty Industry and Blood Type

  • This study was carried out after the author experienced different personalities according to blood type over many years and thus have attempted to find out the relationships between blood type and each occupation in the industry. This study aims to analyze employees in the beauty industry (hair design, skin care, nail art and makeup) in Seoul with regard to their blood types. The significance of this study is to provide baseline data for entrants and managers in the beauty industry in order to help them choose the right occupation and reduce turnover rates through analyzing employee personalities by blood type. Research topics include the following: first, to understand the characteristics of employees in the beauty industry; and second, to find out the relationships between blood types and types of professions. After conducting an inquiry into the relationships between blood type and profession in the industry, a significant portion of skin care (49.3%) and nail art (43.8%) professionals was blood type A; nail artists (43.8%), type AB; hair designers (54.7%), type B; and makeup artists (50.0%) and hair designers (29.2%), type O. In conclusion, these results reflect the personalities of people within the beauty industry by blood type. Skin care and nail art shops are quiet environments, whereas hair salons are relatively louder with contemporary music along with the sounds of various equipment.

헤어미용 전공 대학생의 전공만족도가 미용전문직관에 미치는 영향 (Cosmetology Major The impact of college student satisfaction on the cosmetology profession)

  • 본 연구는 헤어 미용 전공 대학생의 전공만족도가 미용전문직관에 미치는 영향을 분석함으로써 헤어 미용 전공 대학생들의 전공만족과 전문직관의 관계를 알아보고자 하였다. 연구결과 헤어 미용 전공 대학생의 전공만족도와 미용전문직관 간에 정(+)의 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났고(p<0.001), 전공만족은 '전문성' t=4.625(p=.000), '직업인식' t=3.152(p=.002)로, 전공가치는 '전문성' t=2.330(p=.021), '전문활동' t=2.438(p=.015), '직업인식' t=4.843(p=.000)으로, 대학생활적응은 미용전문직관의 하위요인인 '전문활동' t=2.746(p=.006), '직업인식' t=4.303(p=.000)으로 나타나 헤어 미용 전공 대학생의 전공만족도는 미용전문직관에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 헤어 미용 전공 대학생에게 있어 전공만족은 대학 및 전공학과에 대한 만족뿐만 아니라 자기 자신에 대한 만족 및 헤어 미용 직무 자신감으로 이어져 긍정적인 영향으로 사회생활을 적응할 수 있게 해주며, 미용전문직관은 헤어 미용 직업에 대한 가치관과 태도로 미용 전공 대학생 때 전문직관이 생기게 된다. 연구결과를 통해 헤어 미용 전공 대학생들의 긍정적인 전문직관의 형성과 전공만족도를 높이고 올바른 이론과 실기교육을 통해 미용전문직관이 확립될 수 있도록 학생들의 자기계발과 더불어 교수 및 교육관계자들의 전문직업 윤리와 가치관에 관한 교육과 지속적인 지도가 필요하다고 사료된다.

미용서비스업 종사자의 감정노동과 직무만족 및 이직의도의 관계분석 (A study on the relationships among emotional labor, job satisfaction and turnover intention of beauty industry professionals)

  • The purpose of this study is to define the relationships among the emotional labor, job satisfaction, and turnover intention of beauty industry workers. The data for this study were collected through a survey, and a total of 197 questionnaires were used in the statistical analysis. The survey items were classified into 4 domains: demographic characteristics, emotional labor, job satisfaction, and turnover intention. This study extracted factors that compose each measurement domain to define the impact of emotional labor on job satisfaction or turnover intention. According to the research results, 3 factors - positive norm, sincere behavior, and emotional incongruity - were extracted for emotional labor. Individual aptitude satisfaction and work environment satisfaction were extracted as the factors for job satisfaction, whereas a single factor was extracted for turnover intention. By analyzing the effect of factors related to the emotional labor of beauty in dustry workers on factors related to job satisfaction, results showed that positive norm positively influenced individual aptitude satisfaction, sincere behavior positively influenced individual aptitude satisfaction and work environment satisfaction, and emotional incongruity negatively influenced individual aptitude satisfaction. Among factors related to emotional labor, positive norm and sincere behavior negatively affected turnover intention, whereas emotional incongruity positively influenced turnover intention. With regard to the effect of job satisfaction on the turnover intention of beauty industry workers, results showed that individual aptitude satisfaction and job environment satisfaction negatively (-) affected turnover intention. The results of this study show that people presenting a high level of individual aptitude satisfaction displayed positive job satisfaction, whereas people showing serious emotional incongruity for work presented high turnover intention. This implies that in order to increase the work efficiency of beauty businesses, it is essential to examine and manage the emotional labor of workers as a measure for increasing job satisfaction and lowering turnover.

미용분야 종사자의 경력개발이 조직몰입에 미치는 영향 (The effects of career development of beauty industry professionals on organizational commitment)

  • This study's research method was to investigate the effects of career development in the field of beauty on organizational commitment. A survey targeted 271 beauty workers living in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do. For data analysis, SPSS 21.0 was used for statistical processing. First, descriptive statistics were analyzed, followed by a factor analysis and reliability analysis, third, correlation analysis, and finally linear regression analysis. Detailed research results are as follows. First, the effect of career development of beauty workers and organizational commitment was investigated. The result is as follows. The independent variables, self-development, goal orientation, and career orientation, which are sub-variables of career development, were found to have a statistically significant positive effect. Second, the effect of career development of beauty workers on co-workers' organizational commitment was investigated. The result is as follows. By the independent variable, self-development, and career orientation, which are sub-variables of career development, are found to have a significant positive effect. However, goal orientation had no effect. Therefore, based on the results of this study, the implications are as follows. As beauty is a creative pursuit, it is often done in collaboration rather than alone, and therefore camaraderie plays an important part in the foundation of a commitment to a company. It is a field that goes after a goal after committing to a community mindset, instead of pursuing a goal alone.

K-Beauty 미용산업 활성화 방안에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Activation Plan for K-Beauty Beauty Industry)

  • K-Beauty 미용산업은 고부가가치 창출이 가능한 미래지향적 성장산업으로 부각되고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 소비자들의 미래가치적 니즈와 경쟁력을 갖춘 지속적인 유망 산업으로 발전하기 위한 방향성 제시를 목적으로 K-Beauty 미용산업의 동향, 최신 화장품 산업 트렌드, 글로벌 경쟁력 관련 선행연구와 보고서를 분석하였다. 먼저 혁신성과 창의성을 기반으로 산업과 정부의 부문별 역할 분담을 가능하게 하여 수출효자 산업으로의 사회적, 경제적 가치의 입증을 유도해야 하며, 두 번째는 정보통신기술을 기반으로 뷰티와 IT를 융합하여 혁신네트워크 형성과 확대를 도모해야 성공할 것으로 보여지며, 마지막으로 정부가 제시한 비전에 발맞추어 신규일자리 창출과 산업발전 목표에 맞는 전문인력 양성이라는 과제 해결을 위한 법적, 제도적인 개선이 선행된다면 미래지향적인 K-Beauty 미용산업 활성화를 전략화 할 수 있을 것이라 판단된다.
