Heterogeneous network technology is expected to be a core technology for 5G mobile communications. 5G mobile network would be composed of many base stations even have mobility, then the operator should connect base stations through the wireless backhaul technology. This paper presents Ultra Wide Area Wireless Backhaul Network System with massive array antenna. We conducted link budget analysis for Ultra Wide Area Wireless Backhaul Network and performance analysis of massive array antenna system through the transmission simulator based on beamforming technology. In wide area ($10km^2$) wireless backhaul system composed of massive antenna, we achieved 5 bps/Hz average spectral efficiency with 1 W transmission power per beam.

This paper presents spectrum utilization strategies in cognitive radio (CR) networks powered by multi-antenna based wireless energy transfer. Secondary access point (AP) with multiple antennas should transfer the energy to the secondary sensor nodes with energy beamforming and simultaneously induces no interference to PUs. In addition, sensor nodes can transmit information to the secondary AP using the harvested energy, only when the spectrum is not utilized by PUs. We analyze the achievable rate of the CR sensor networks and propose an interference nulling energy beamforming method to maximize the achievable rate. Finally, we also propose a frame scheduling algorithm in which the durations of wireless energy transfer/information transfer frames (phases) are optimized.

Maritime activities are on the rise, there is a growing demand for high-quality communication services that can cover larger areas. However, the transmission of high data rates to maritime users is challenging due to path loss from land base stations, which limits the transmission power. To overcome this challenge, researchers have been exploring the use of buoys in a marine environment as relays for communication technology. This paper proposes a simulation-based approach to investigate the impact of various beamwidths on communication performance when using a buoy as a relay. The objective is to determine the optimal beamwidth that yields the highest data rate for the target location. The approach is based on an offshore wave model where the direction of the buoy changes according to the height of the wave. The study investigates the performance of the relay in the downlink situation using receive beamforming, and the capacity at the user in the three-hop situation is verified using an amplify-and-forward (AF) relay that uses transmit beamforming to the user. The simulation results suggest that the beamwidth of the relay should be adjusted according to the wave conditions to optimize the data rate and relay position that satisfies a data rate superior to the direct path to the target position. Using a buoy as a relay can be a promising solution for enhancing maritime communications, and the simulation-based approach proposed in this paper can provide insights into how to optimize beamwidth for effective communication system design and implementation. In conclusion, the study results suggest that the use of buoys as relays for maritime communication is a feasible solution for expanding coverage and enhancing communication quality. The proposed simulation-based approach provides a useful tool for identifying relay beamwidths for achieving higher data rates in different wave conditions. These findings have significant implications for the design and deployment of communication systems in maritime environments.

In this paper, we propose the distributed robust beamforming design scheme in cognitive two-way amplify-and-forward (AF) relay networks with imperfect channel state information (CSI). Assuming the CSI errors follow a complex Gaussian distribution, the objective of this paper is to design the robust beamformer which minimizes the total transmit power of the collaborative relays. This design will guarantee the outage probability of signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) beyond a target level at each secondary user (SU), and satisfies the outage probability of interference generated on the primary user (PU) above the predetermined maximum tolerable interference power. Due to the multiple CSI uncertainties in the two-way transmission, the probabilistic constrained optimization problem is intractable and difficult to obtain a closed-form solution. To deal with this, we reformulate the problem to the standard form through a series of matrix transformations. We then accomplish the problem by using the probabilistic approach based on two sorts of Bernstein-type inequalities and the worst-case approach based on S-Procedure. The simulation results indicate that the robust beamforming designs based on the probabilistic method and the worst-case method are both robust to the CSI errors. Meanwhile, the probabilistic method can provide higher feasibility rate and consumes less power.

In this paper, we derive the average received beampattern at each receive node which is randomly distributed within a disk when considering a collaborative beanforming between transmission nodes which are randomly distributed within another disk for ad hoc sensor network. Numerical results show that the radius of disk at the transmitter determines the beamwidth of mainbeam, and the sidebeam is affected by the number of transmitter nodes. We also consider K receive groups and divide the transmit sensor modes into K groups to support each receive group using beamforming, and derive the SINR at each receive node. Finally, we investigate the effects of beampattern and interference on total sum capacity among all receive node, and numerically determine the number of transmit nodes for each group which can achieve the maximal sum capacity.

We propose a beam selection algorithm that improves inter sector SIR using a code-book of a circular array antenna in multi-sector wireless mesh network environments. The proposed method improves SIR using a combination of fed back code-book and guarantees QoS of all nodes. Computer simulation exhibits the proposed scheme demonstrates 4.42dB higher SIR than that of the conventional code-book method, QoS with proportional fair is improved by 1.70dB and fact that all nodes are satisfied Qos is also shown.

For the purpose of providing high data rate real-time services, radio transmission technologies (RTT) for ship ad-hoc network (SANET) based on the Recommendation ITU-R 1842-1 are designed. Physical layer parameters of SANET are contrived to meet the requirements of the specification. In order to improve the link reliability for SANET, in this paper, we investigate the performance of the SANET with the multiple antennas, where receive combining (RC), transmit diversity (TD), and beamforming (BF) are employed, respectively. Based on the analysis of the packet error rate (PER) under the highly correlated maritime wireless channel model, we select the efficient multiple antenna schemes for SANET to improve the link reliability. In addition, the optimal MCS levels for the single-carrier (SC) SANET with the bandwidth of 25 kHz, and the multi-carrier (MC) SANET with the bandwidth of 50 kHz and 100 kHz are finalized.

This paper presents an analytical investigation for a baseline-free imaging of a defect in plate-like structures using the time-reversal of Lamb waves. We first consider the flexural wave (A0 mode) propagation in a plate containing a defect, and reception and time reversal process of the output signal at the receiver. The received output signal is then composed of two parts: a directly propagated wave and a scattered wave from the defect. The time reversal of these waves recovers the original input signal, and produces two additional side bands that contain the time-of-flight information on the defect location. One of the side band signals is then extracted as a pure defect signal. A defect localization image is then constructed from a beamforming technique based on the time-frequency analysis of the side band signal for each transducer pair in a network of sensors. The simulation results show that the proposed scheme enables the accurate, baseline-free detection of a defect, so that experimental studies are needed to verify the proposed method and to be applied to real structure.

In this paper, we addressed the computer interfacing method using the physical component in our living environment especially, a structure that has plane shape. A beamforming is the one of method for spatial location estimate, when appling it to the structure that has plane shapes, it estimates the event of impings location. and this impings event of specific location can be used for input unit of computing system. we expected, this result will contribute to human-computer interfacing research in home network environment.
Throughput and quality-of-service (QoS) over multi-cell environments are two of the most challenging issues that must be addressed when developing next generation wireless network standards. Currently, multiple-input/multiple-output (MIMO), inter-cell coordination and multi-hop relay technologies are viable options for improving channel capacity or coverage extension. Nevertheless, severe QoS degradation occurs in the outer region of multi-cells due to significant interference from neighboring cells or relay stations, thereby limiting overall performance. Therefore, we propose a scheme which adapted to hybrid relaying.
