  • Tracking the location of patients in medical facilities is important to guarantee the patients' safety and to improve the service quality. Previous studies related to location tracking systems based on Bluetooth communication need numerous prerequisite information and multiple devices to improve the accuracy. In this paper, we propose a beacon-based space partition scheme that assigns different arrangement patterns of beacons to different spaces and composes groups with the similar value of RSSI to minimize prerequisite information and the number of beacons. The proposed scheme considers a pattern arrangement scheme to minimize intereference between neighbor patterns. We also verified the applicability of our scheme to monitor the patient location by using experimental results.

  • The current domestic subway has been conducting specialized transportation seats, aimed at whomever wish to use metro not only for vulnerable and disabled people but also for 'pregnant women', which mostly concerns for women during their pregnancy. However so far, such measures have not shown to be effective enough for the community to consider pregnant women as 'weaker transportation users'. Therefore, this paper announces a new seat arrangement system proposal for these specialized seats to be exerting advantageous influences for pregnant women. The grounds for this proposal are using "Hybrid Beacon", which is a short-range communication technology, and combining this to the Mobile Application. The proposal starts with observing the current problem related to the specialized seats for pregnancy, and follows by the concept of the system and the scenario.

  • This paper suggests a relative orbit control strategy for the CubeSat Astronomy by NASA and Yonsei using Virtual Telescope Alignment eXperiment (CANYVAL-X) mission whose main goal is to demonstrate an essential technique, which is an arrangement among two satellites and a specific celestial object, referred to as inertial alignment, for a next-generation virtual space telescope. The inertial alignment system is a relative orbit control system and has requirements for the relative state. Through the proposed orbit control strategy, consisting of separation, proximity keeping, and reconfiguration, the requirements will be satisfied. The separation direction of the two CubeSats with respect to the orbital plane is decided to provide advantageous initial condition to the orbit controller. Proximity keeping is accomplished by differential atmospheric drag control (DADC), which generates acceleration by changing the spacecraft's effective cross section via attitude control rather than consuming propellant. Reconfiguration is performed to meet the requirements after proximity keeping. Numerical simulations show that the requirements can be satisfied by the relative orbit control strategy. Furthermore, through numerical simulations, it is demonstrated that the inertial alignment can be achieved. A beacon signal had been received for several months after the launch; however, we have lost the signal at present.
