As the functionality of portable devices arc being enhanced and the performance is being greatly improved, power dissipations of battery driven portable devices are being increased. So, an efficient power management for reducing their power consumption is needed. In this paper, we propose a window-based DVS algorithm for MPEG Player. The proposed algorithm maintains the recently frame information and execution time received from MPEG player in window queue and dynamically adjusts (frequency, voltage) level based on window queue information. Our algorithm can be implemented in the common multimedia player as a module. We employed well-known MPlayer for the measurement of performance. The experimental result shows that the proposed algorithm reduces energy consumption by 56% on maximal performance.

In wireless power transfer (WPT) system, the conventional compensation topologies only can provide a constant current (CC) or constant voltage (CV) output under their resonant conditions. It is difficult to meet the CC and CV hybrid charging requirements without any other schemes. In this study, a switching hybrid topology (SHT) is proposed for CC and CV electric vehicle (EV) battery charging. By utilizing an additional capacitor and two AC switches (ACSs), a double-side LCC (DS-LCC) and an inductor and double capacitors-series (LCC-S) topologies are combined. According to the specified CC and CV charging profile, the CC and CV charging modes can be flexibly converted by the two additional ACSs. In addition, zero phase angle (ZPA) also can be achieved in both charging modes. In this method, because the operating frequency is fixed, without using PWM control, and only a small number of devices are added, it has the benefits of low-cost, easy-controllability and high efficiency. A 3.3-kW experimental prototype is configured to verify the proposed switching hybrid charger. The maximum DC efficiencies (at 3.3-kW) of the proposed SHT is 92.58%.

A 100 W fuel cell system using chemical storage method has been applied for a propulsion system of the SUAV(Small Unmanned Aerial Vehicle). A fuel cell and battery have been combined for both the small/light hydrogen generation control system and the hybrid power supply system. A small hydrogen generation device was implemented to utilize NaBH4 aqueous solution and dead-end type PEMFC system, which were evaluated on the ground and by the flight tests. The system pressurized at a 45kpa stably operates and get higher fuel efficiency. The pressure inside of the hydrogen generation control system was maintained at between 45 kPa and 55 kPa. The 100W fuel cell system satisfies the required weight and power consumption rate as well as the propulsion system, and the fuel cell system performance was demonstrated through flight test.

Under Water Sensor Networks (UWSN) has gained attraction among various communities for its potential applications like acoustic monitoring, 3D mapping, tsunami detection, oil spill monitoring, and target tracking. Unlike terrestrial sensor networks, it performs an acoustic mode of communication to carry out collaborative tasks. Typically, surface sink nodes are deployed for aggregating acoustic phenomena collected from the underwater sensors through the multi-hop path. In this context, UWSN is constrained by factors such as lower bandwidth, high propagation delay, and limited battery power. Also, the vulnerabilities to compromise the aquatic environment are in growing numbers. The paper proposes an Energy-Efficient standalone Intrusion Detection System (EEIDS) to entail the acoustic environment against malicious attacks and improve the network lifetime. In EEIDS, attributes such as node ID, residual energy, and depth value are verified for forwarding the data packets in a secured path and stabilizing the nodes' energy levels. Initially, for each node, three agents are modeled to perform the assigned responsibilities. For instance, ID agent verifies the node's authentication of the node, EN agent checks for the residual energy of the node, and D agent substantiates the depth value of each node. Next, the classification of normal and malevolent nodes is performed by determining the score for each node. Furthermore, the proposed system utilizes the sheep-flock heredity algorithm to validate the input attributes using the optimized probability values stored in the training dataset. This assists in finding out the best-fit motes in the UWSN. Significantly, the proposed system detects and isolates the malicious nodes with tampered credentials and nodes with lower residual energy in minimal time. The parameters such as the time taken for malicious node detection, network lifetime, energy consumption, and delivery ratio are investigated using simulation tools. Comparison results show that the proposed EEIDS outperforms the existing acoustic security systems.

In this paper a micro solar energy harvesting system with MPPT(Maximum Power Point Tracking) control using a miniature PV(photovoltaic) cell of which the output is less than 0.5V is proposed. The MPPT control is implemented using linear relationship between the open-circuit voltage of a PV cell and its MPP(Maximum Power Point) voltage such that a pilot PV cell can track the MPP of the main PV cell in real time. The proposed circuit is designed in 0.18um CMOS process. The designed chip area is $900um{\times}1370um$ including a load charge pump and pads. Measured results show that the designed system can track the MPP voltage changes with variations of light intensity. The designed circuit with MPPT control delivers MPP voltages to load even though the load is heavy such that it can supply more power when the MPPT control is applied. The proposed circuit does not require any precharged battery resulting in more suitability for miniaturized self-powered systems compared to the existing works.

In this paper, we propose a $M{\times}M$ beam-space multiple input multiple output (BS-MIMO) system using electronically steerable parasitic array radiator (ESPAR) antenna. Conventional MIMO method required multiple RF chains because it map the transmission signals onto multiple antennas. So, conventional MIMO system has high cost for design and high energy consumption at RF circuit. Also, It is difficult to use MIMO system in battery based mobile terminals with limited physical area. In order to solve these problems, BS-MIMO technique which map the data signal onto bases in beam space domain was proposed using ESPAR antenna with single RF chain. This paper, we design and analyze the performance of extended $M{\times}M$ BS-MIMO technique. Simulation results show that the proposed BS-MIMO system has similar BER performance compare to conventional MIMO scheme. Therefore, BS-MIMO system with single RF chain will has a low RF power consumption and low cost for RF hardware design as compared with conventional MIMO technique with multiple RF chains.

Many P2P systems which are designed to implement large-scale data sharing have been introduced in internet recently. They exhibit interesting features like sell-configuration, sell-healing and complete decentralization, which make them appealing for deployment in ad hoc environments as well. This paper proposes an Gnutella-based P2P system that can operate efficiently in ad hoc networks. The objectives of this paper are to extend the overall system lifetime, to reduce overheads, and to provide enhanced performance. The proposed system uses an ultrapeer election scheme based on metric values and proactive distribution of ultrapeer information. According to the simulation results, the proposed system can provide better performance than Gnutella in terms of query success rate, query response time, overhead and residual battery power by utilizing network resources efficiently.

In this study, we built a thermal model for SNIPE 6U nano-satellite which has scientific mission for measuring science data in near Earth space environment and described thermal design based on the thermal model. And the validity of the thermal design was verified through the on-orbit thermal analysis. The thermal design was carried out mainly on the passive thermal control techniques such as surface finishes, insulators, and thermal conductors in consideration of the characteristics of the nano-satellite. However, the components with narrow operating temperature range and directly exposed to the orbital thermal environments, such as a battery and thrusters, are accomodated with heaters to satisfy the temperature requirements. On-orbit thermal analysis conditions are based on the basic orbital conditions of the satellite, and thermal analysis was performed for Normal mode, Launch & Early Orbit Phase (LEOP), Safehold mode, and Maneuver mode which are classified by the power consumption and the attitude of the satellite according to the mission scenario. The analysis results for each mode confirmed that every component satisfies the temperature requirement. In addition, the heater capacity and duty cycle of the battery and thruster were calculated through the analysis results of the Safehold mode.

current mine detector can't division the section if it is conducted and it needs too much labor force and time. in addition to, if the user don't move the head of sensor in regular speed or move it too fast, it is hard to detect a mine exactly. according to this, to improve the problem using one direction ultrasonic wave sensing signal, that is made up of human body antenna part, main micro processor unit part, smart glasses part, body equipped LCD monitor part, wireless data transmit part, belt type power supply part, black box type camera, Security Communication headset. the user can equip this at head, body, arm, waist and leg in removable type. so it is able to detect the powder in a 360-degree on(under) the ground whether it is metal or nonmetal and it can express the 2D or 3D film about distance, form and material of the mine. so the battle combats can avoid the mine and move fast. also, through the portable battery and twin self power supply system of the power supply part, combat troops can fight without extra recharge and we can monitoring the battle situation of distant place at the command center server on real-time. and then, it makes able to sharing the information of battle among battle combats one on one. as a result, the purpose of this study is researching a smart wearable mine detector which can establish a smart battle system as if the commander is in the site of the battle.
Road surface monitoring is essential for maintaining road environment safety through managing risk factors like rutting and crack detection. Using autonomous driving-based UGVs with high-performance 2D laser sensors enables more precise measurements. However, the increased energy consumption of these sensors is limited by constrained battery capacity. In this paper, we propose a fusion sensor system for efficient surface monitoring with UGVs. The proposed system combines color information from cameras and depth information from line laser sensors to accurately detect surface displacement. Furthermore, a dynamic sampling algorithm is applied to control the scanning frequency of line laser sensors based on the detection status of monitoring targets using camera sensors, reducing unnecessary energy consumption. A power consumption model of the fusion sensor system analyzes its energy efficiency considering various crack distributions and sensor characteristics in different mission environments. Performance analysis demonstrates that setting the power consumption of the line laser sensor to twice that of the saving state when in the active state increases power consumption efficiency by 13.3% compared to fixed sampling under the condition of λ=10, µ=10.
