The purpose of this study was to investigate the understanding of basic knowledge of mathematics for $6^{th}$ grade students in elementary school by an essay test and provide instructional suggestions for teachers. A total of 132 students from 6 classes in 3 elementary schools were tested and analyzed in terms of the characteristics of correct answers and types of incorrect answers. The results showed that students had poor understanding of basic conceptual concepts and principles throughout six content areas of school mathematics curriculum, despite their good performance on mathematical skills. This study included implications to teaching and learning for each of the content areas.

To investigate the conditions of groundwater resources in Jeonju, Wanju, and Goksung areas, a basic groundwater survey was performed. From the survey, various useful informations such as groundwater use, waterlevel distribution, water chemistry were obtained. This study focused on the analysis of the water levels, which were automatically monitored with pressure transducers or manually measured. The monitorings were conducted for both shallow wells completed in alluvial aquifers and deep wells in bedrock aquifers. This study presents results of the investigation.

The success of road haulage, in dominating the surface movement of freight, is now threatened by increased traffic congestion, falling average motorway speeds and rising in logistic costs. As a result, Government as well as companies, which use or operate logistics service, is now looking to rail to provide an alternative. First, we surveyed the bottlenecks and desired betterments to rail transport, which were indicated by rail and road transport users. Through the analysis of customers' needs survey. this paper is focused in the basic framework fur the rail freight transport, which could be helped to promote the efficiency associated with moving freight by rail.

In this paper, wer propose many problems by analyzing the various currently statistics, propose the basic principal for the more precise performance of sample survey, and at the same time propose the method(principal) for detecting and manipulationg the source of error. Finally, we are to improving the statistical reliability and increasing the user's convenience by standardizing the statistical reporting form.

Prediction of total sales in information security industry is considered. Exponential smoothing and spline smoothing is applied to the time series of annual sales data. Due to the different survey items of every year, we recollect the original survey data by some basic criterion and predict the sales to 2014. We show the total sales in infonnation security industry are increasing gradually by year.

In this paper, we presents the results of the leading 2 European projects in the real-time train conflict dection and resolution field. One is MARCO(Multi-level Advanced Railways Conflicts Resolution and Operation Control) and the other is COMBINE(enhanced COntrol center for a Moving Block sigNaling systeEm) project. From the results of the survey, we derive the basic principles in order to use in the similar project of Korea Nation Railway.

This study was focused on the ethical dilemmas of fire fighters in Korea. There was no research on ethical dilemmas and experience of fire fighters and paramedics(emergency medical technician, EMT) in Korea. So I am going to survey this ethical problems through questionnaires and propose the basic data for the legal and ethical solutions.

As the typical farming of the most Asian countries are of small and subsisting scale, the infrastructure is variable depending on the region and more complicated than in the industrialized countries. Except such basic statistics as acreage of farm land, farming population and production, there are no common standard methods to be used for indepth analysis on the farming status, the level of farming techniques, financial status of farming, consciousness of farmers and others. Therefore, it is necessary to develop survey models which can be commonly used to compare with different circumstances. The purpose of this report is to provide examples of survey models which are used to measure farming performances in Korea. Those are (1) Diagnosis and analysis on farming technique, labor utilization and farm income, (2) Management performance analysis, (3) Planning for farming, (4) Survey on the nutritional status of farming, (5) Survey on rural village status and planning regional agricultural development.

In this paper, an analysis of survey questions relating to educational technology which was extracted from a more general survey of 1-12 mathematics teachers in Korea is reported. The general survey was conducted to provide a baseline for evaluating and developing recommendations for mathematics curriculum that is consistent with the knowledge based information society model of the future. The basic requirements for technology based education are availability of hardware and the ability of teachers to use technology for education. Therefore, the availability and use of technology by mathematics teachers in today’s curriculum was analyzed. The computer ability of teachers, the amount of computer use in the classroom, and the attitude of teachers about the use of technology for education was analyzed. The analysis is intended to provide a baseline of information for understanding and developing plans for better implementing technology for mathematic education.

We suggest a summary of sample design for the statistical survey of E-commerce to estimate the general trend as well as the market size and investment scale of e-commerce based on the Census on Basic Characteristic of Establishments(CBCE). The sample design of this survey is composed of systematic sampling and modified cut-off method.
