  • The increasing interest in environment-friendly products brought the new so-called 'health furnitures. 'Recently health-friendly-furnitures have gained a larger share in the furniture market, but the method of making health furnitures is still stuck in the primitive stage. For example, a bed with a stone or ceramic plate is one of the most famous health furniture to date. It needs a design fairly different from an ordinary bed that uses a mattress, but there has been little development on how different it would be. Therefore the purpose of this study is to develop a new design for a newly designed stone bed to make it n)ore competitive in the market. Its basic concept is to make an high-tech but human friendly bed. It should be natural and minimal, and it should have a royal grace on it. We worked on how to maximize every requirement and applied on it. Lastly, we had an eco-friendly final touch on our new bed with environment-friendly natural lacquer, so it could discharge volatile organic compounds such as formaldehyde as little as possible.

  • This research is executed to find out the boundary of use by the conscious of local residents and to get the basic materials for the distribution of outdoor leisure-facilities. The map of use distribution of the outdoor leisure-facilities in a neighbourhood unit is made by applying a concept of the probabilistic contour line based on the choice model of outdoer leisure-facilities in the city of Seoul, Taegu an\ulcorner Kwangju. The results are listed as follows. 1) The use of outdoor leisure-facilities is influenced on the accessibility by the physical obstacles of streets and hills, etc. 2) The limitation of uses applying the model of choice probability are different according to the accessibility, the percentage of utilities and the arriving range based on the questionnaires which are surveyed the choice of outdoor leisure facilities of the residents of Seoul, Taegu and Kwangju. 3) The distribution of outdoor leisure facilities is decided by the limitation of use with the conscious of local residents.

  • In this study the location condition and the management of the Rural Experience Tourism Villages located around unified Cheongju city has been surveyed or investigated. On the basis of the results of the survey or investigation this study is to suggest a way to make activate the Rural Experience Tourism Villages which have been inactive. The ways of the research include the understanding of what means the activation of rural areas and then this study is to find the problems with the Rural Experience Tourism Villages and to suggest final ways or plans after the field investigation of the condition of the location and management of the Villages. In this study I had full understanding of the concept of the activation for rural areas and the humanistic and geographical characteristics and then made a wide investigation and analysis of the location condition and the management of the Rural Experience Tourism Villages in this area. Based on the theory and the results of the actual investigation I made a suggestion of basic direction for the improvement of the Villages and the ways for activation of the Villages. I really expect these suggestions of mine to make active contribution to make the actual plan through the promotion of the Rural Experience Tourism Villages.

  • This study examined the present condition and problems of rural apartment house through documentary survey and considered the social necessity and concept of rural apartment housing. The aim of this study is to suggest the social necessity and spatial composition factor of rural apartment housing. The results of this study are as follows. First, rural apartment houses are generally adjacent to production and natural environments, and tend to be constructed in small complex of 50 households or less with the lack of convenient facilities. Second, the ultimate goal of rural apartment housing plans is to improve the livability, community, sustainability and rurality on the basis of the basic direction of rural areas. Third, it is necessary to install storages within the apt. complex and secure a buffer zone where people can wash their hands before entering the houses. Fourth, rural apartment housing should adopt the space components of auxiliary facilities including storages for agricultural products and farming appliances, common workshops, field attached to home, and washrooms in consideration of the conditions of rural areas different from urban apartment housing.

  • Though GF(2) CA can only handle data with bit units, GF(2$^{p}$) CA can handle data with byte units. In this paper we analyze the state-transition of nongroup cellular automata(CA) with a single attractor over GF(2$^{p}$). And we propose the constructing method of the state-transition diagram of a linear SACA over GF(2$^{p}$) by using the concept of basic path. Also we propose the state-transition diagram of the nonlinear complemented SACA by using the state-transition diagram of a linear SACA.

  • Most of oceanic information are related with spatial properties directly or impliedly and Presented differently depend on applications. So, without efficient integrated data model and strategies it inevitably occurs redundant development results of database itself and application systems. Therefor to avoid these inefficiencies it is most basic need to establish the ocean data infrastructure based on unified data model. In this paper we suggest the guideline for object data model based on ocean GIS concept followed with a sample primitive object data model implementing tile proposed guideline. With this unified data model we could expect the improvement ill the every phase of ocean related environment from data acquisition through translation and utilizing to service and exchange.

  • A novel method of high speed, accurate circuit simulation in 3-dimensional (3-D) parallel-plate capacitors is investigated. The basic concept of the circuit simulation methods is partial element equivalent circuit model. The three test structures of 3-D parallel-plate capacitors are fabricated by using multi-layer low-temperature co-fired ceramic (LTCC) process and their S-parameters are measured between 50 MHz and 5 GHz. S-parameters are converted to Y-parameters, for comparing measured data with simulated data. The circuit model parameters of the each building block are optimized and extracted using HSPICE circuit simulator. This method is convenient and accurate so that circuit design applications can be easily manipulated.

  • In this paper, we suggest a checkpoint and recovery facility for the fault-tolerable process which is expected to be executed for a long time. The basic concept of the suggested facility is to allow the process to be executed continuously, when the process was stopped due to a System fault, by storing the execution status of the process periodically and recovering the execution status prior to the fault was occurred. In the suggested facility, it does not need to modify the source code for the fault-tolerable process. It was designed for the user to specify directly the file name and the checkpoint frequency, and two system calls(save, recover) were added. finally, it was implemented on the Linux environment(kernel 2.4.18) for checking the feasibility.

  • This paper investigated the accuracy of the current design formulae for the elastic buckling strength of web-tapered I-beams in AISC-LRFD specification. The basic concept is to replace a tapered beam by an equivalent prismatic beam with a different length, but with a cross section identical to that of the smaller end of the tapered beam. The modification factor, B, is used to account for the stress gradient within the unbraced length and the lateral restraining effects offered by the adjacent segments. The modification factor(B) suggested in AISC-LRFD specification was compared with the finite element method(FEM) results. This paper presented a redefined method to calculate the modification factor(B).
