Objectivs : This report describes the studies as follows through the research of 163prescribtions in low-chapter from Bangyakhappyun. Methods : Analysis the 163prescribtions of basic prescribtions, therapeutic area, symptoms and pathology. Result : Many prescriptions are contained in the diseases areas such as defecate diseases, women diseases, internal diseases, exogenous febrile diseases. And prescriptions in the low-chapter are used in the areas such as eye, aggregation, mouth and tongue, teeth, hand, back, neck, emergency. Eighty-five basic prescriptions are analyzed from the low-chapter and the ratio of nineteen prescriptions containing Ijintang, Pyeongwisan, Oryungsan, Samultang, Sunggitang, Jichultang are over 60%. The efficacy classifications containing basic prescriptions frequently used are researched in the following order: heat-clearing and fire-purging formulae, digestant formulae, phlegm-dispelling formulae, qi-regulating formulae and blood-activating formulae. And tonifying and replenishing formulae are rarely used. Most of the prescriptions in the low-chapter are used for the excess syndrome and few of them are used for the deficiency syndrome. And six excesses, food damage, phlegm are the major causes of excess syndrome. Conclusions : As s result of study on analysis all prescriptions in low-chapter from Bangyakhappyun. We can understand more about basic prescriptions, symptoms of prescriptions and pathology.

Yaksung-ga is a short Chinese poem, written for easy memorizing of properties and effects of various herbal drugs. It is very useful for teaching herbalogy and for using in clinical practice. In spite of its importance, research of the Yaksung-ga is very insufficient. Thus, we investigated literary works of Tingxian Gong and Korean medical books in the late Chosun dynasty, to explain how Yaksung-ga had been received and modified in Korean medicine. Manbinghuichun(萬病回春) and Shoushibaoyuan(壽世保元), the literatures of Tingxian Gong, are the origin of Yaksung-ga. Jejungshinpyun(濟衆新編) is the first book which recorded Yaksung-ga in Korea, having influenced Juchonshinbang(舟村新方) and Euijongsonik(醫宗損益). The classification system of Yaksung-ga was remarkably changed in Euijongsonik, according to the method of Bencaogangmu(本草綱目). And the Yaksung-ga of Bangyakhappyun(方藥合編), which is generally used in Korea at present, was shortened from the form of 8 Chinese characters in each line to 7 characters, so that it can be easily recited. In the end, the authors of Korean medical books selectively cited the Yaksung-ga of Tingxian Gong, and added many novel Yaksung-ga.

Objectives : To determine a dose of medicine precisely and conveniently, this study was tried to specify the weight of Bangyakhappyun pills by measuring in terms of grams. Methods : 1. Selected typical prescriptions in order of size and formula written down in Bangyakhappyun. 2. Pulverized each medicine in prescription and weighed one Bangchonbi(方寸匕). 3. Weighed the 10 seeds of Firmiana simplex sized one(梧子大) which were mixed with auxiliary materials such as water, honey, starch paste, etc. 4. The dosages of other type forms were measured based on the weigh of 10 seeds of Firmiana simplex sized one(梧子大). Results : 1. A well-used size of pills is Firmiana simplex sized one(梧子大) 2. Honey and starch paste are typical auxiliary materials for formulating pills. 3. A weigh of starch paste based 10 seeds of Firmiana simplex sized one(梧子大) ranged between 1.09g and 2.55g. 4. A weigh of honey based 10 seeds of Firmiana simplex sized one(梧子大) ranged between 1.18g and 2.77g. Conclusions : A dosage of each prescription can be calculated in terms of grams. 1. In case of Firminia simplex sized one(梧子大) with paste, a daily dose is 5.28g to 17.8g. 2. In case of Firminia simplex sized one(梧子大) with honey, a daily dose is 11.8g to 17.3g. 3. The dosage of pills with toxic herb and mineral medicinal material for baby is the least amount of 0.017g. 4. The dosage of most tonifying medicinals are over 10g. Table 3. shows more details.

Zingiber officinal is roled in protection force(衛) and Zizyphus jujuba is roled in management force(營). 3 Slices of Zingiber officinal and 2 pieces of Zizyphus jujuba in upper location of BangYakHapPyun harmonize management and protection forces(營衛氣). 3 Slices of Zingiber officinale and 2 pieces of Zizyphus jujuba in middle and lower location of BangYakHapPyun compromise and treat inner and outer body condition. 5 or 7 Slices of Zingiber officinale purge noxious vapor and alleviate Pinellia ternata(半夏). Arisaema amurense (南星) poison. Todays, 3-Yangs and 2- Yins an apriority world(先天). use 3 Slices of Zingiber officinale and 2 pieces of Zizyphus jujuba. In the future. 2-Yangs and 3-Yins in a posterior world(後天) may use 2 Slices of Zingiber officinale and 3 pieces of Zizyphus jujuba.

Jing-Yue Jang(張景岳, 1563{\sim}1640$), a medical scalar in the late Ming(明) Dynasty wrote many books such as Leijing(類經), Zhilyilu(質疑錄) and Jingyuequanshu(景岳全書). He was also famouse for the concept of 'Warming and Recuperating(溫補)' and 'Syndrome Differantation Treatment(辨證論治)', Jingyuequanshu was written between 1636 and 1640, and first published in 1700, It can be said that the book was imported from Ming Dynasty of China to Chosun(朝鮮) Dynasty, in what is now South Korea. between 1713 and 1724 In eighteen century. the book was quoted in Euimunbogam(醫門寶鑑), Jejungshinpyun(濟衆新篇) and Magwaheotong(麻科會通). In nineteen century. the book was quoted in Euijongsonik(醫宗損益), Bangyakhappyun(方藥合編), Dongeuisusebowon (東醫壽世保元) and Euigamjungma(醫鑑重磨). The number of quoted prescription and thesis during in nineteen century. is much more than that of eighteen century, Specifically, there are thirty prescriptions of Xinfangbazhen(新方八陣) in Bangyakhappyun, and the concept of 'Nourishing Yang(扶陽)' in Euigamjungma is also based upon Jing-Yue's thesis, This fact shows that we cannot consider the medicine of the late Chosun Dynasty as an abridgement of Dongeuibogam(東醫寶鑑). It is also said that the study focusing on medical books imported from China to Korea in this period is related to understanding the medical progress in the late Chosun Dynasty and the medical intercommunication between Korea and China.
