  • The K-PCS and W-CDMA dual band dielectric duplexer and bandpass filters have been designed and fabricated. The dual band duplexer consists of the separate monoblock K-PCS and W-CDMA duplexers using common antenna port. The coupling capacitance and I/O impedance matching have been designed to minimize the cross interference between the bands. Isolations of crosspoint between Tx and Rx in K-PCS and W-CDMA dualband were about 47 dB and 100 dB, respectively. On the other hand, isolations of Tx and Rx in K-PCS and W-CDMA were about 66 dB and 65 dB, respectively. The difference between 47 dB and 100 dB originated from the different center frequencies in Tx and Rx of K-PCS and W-CDMA bands. The coupling capacitance of the bandwidth, I/O capacitance of I/O matching and impedance matching, and various capacitances were important role to fabricate the dielectric duplexer and bandpass filters.

  • Using the notch and isolation, we investigated the insertion loss and isolation characterics of the fabricated dielectric duplexers and bandpass filters for CDMA and W-CDMA dualband. Insertion loss(Tx band) and isolation(between Tx and Rx) of duplxer were about -2.1708dB and 45dB at CDMA band, respectively. Also, in the case of W-CDMA, the insertion loss(Tx band) and isolation(between Tx and Rx) showed about -2.6946 and 100dB, respectively. Summering the aboved results, fabricated the dielectric duplexers and bandpass filters will be contributed the increase of atttenuation and the decrease of interference at CDMA and W-CDMA dualband.

  • This paper described design and simulation of the high-Tc superconducting (HTS) microstrip bandpass filter (BPF) on MgO substrate using $Y_1Ba_2Cu_3O_{7-x}$ films that show superconductivity ${at \fallingdotseq}90$ K. Design parameters for the characteristic of the bandpass filter in Ku-band were obtained by approximate design formulas. It used parallel coupled stripline stepped impedance resonators (SIR). Microwave design system, MDS(EEsorf S/W) was used to derive the optimal pattern of the filters and to simulate frequency response. In computer-aided results, optimally designed HTS filters got good performance compared with the gold counter-parts on frequency response $S_{21}$, $S_{11}$.

  • This paper presents a novel design for dual-band bandpass filters. The proposed filters are applicable to the carrier aggregation of the TV white space (TVWS) band and long-term evolution (LTE) band for cognitive radio applications. The lower passband is the TVWS band (470-698 MHz) whose fractional bandwidth is 40 %, while the higher passband is the LTE band (824-894 MHz) with 8 % fractional bandwidth. Since the two passbands are located very close to each other, a transmission zero is inserted to enhance the rejection level between the two passbands. The TVWS band filter is designed using magnetic coupling to obtain a wide bandwidth, and the LTE band filter is designed using dielectric resonators to achieve good insertion loss characteristics. In addition, in the proposed design, a transmission zero is placed with cross-coupling. The proposed dual-band bandpass filter is designed as a two-port filter (one input/one output) as well as a three-port filter (one common input/two outputs). The measured performances show good agreement with the simulated performances.

  • A miniaturized CMOS bandpass filter for a single RF transceiver system is presented, using diagonally end-shorted coupled lines and lumped capacitors. In contrast to conventional miniaturized coupled line filters, it is proven that the effective permittivity variation of the coupled transmission line has no effect on shifting the center frequency when the bandpass filter is highly miniaturized. A bandpass filter at a center frequency of 2 GHz was fabricated by $0.18{\mu}m$ CMOS technology. The insertion loss with the die area of $1500{\mu}m{\times}1000{\mu}m$ is -5.14 dB. Simulated results are well agreed with the easurements. It also verify the center frequency stability in the compact size bandpass filter.

  • A design procedure for microstrip bandpass filters using step impedance resonators (SIR's) and tapped input/output to a conventional parallel coupled line bandpass filter is presented. The filter configuration consisting of both half-wavelength and SIR's suppreses to spurious resonance response near the second harmonics, while tapping techniques offer benefit in situations where the impractical. The measured frequency responses of the designed filter are in close agreement with the computed responses.

  • In this paper, surface acoustic wave (SAW) bandpass filter is designed using the Fourier series approach and the I$_{0}$-shin window function. And also we studied a method to realize SAW filter using the apodized ID transducer which was fabricated with aluminum metallization of about 1500 A over .deg. thickness on Y-cut Z-propagating LiNbO$_{3}$, crystal by photolithographic technique (lift-off method). Experimental results on SAW bandpass filter responses show good agreements with the theoretical characteristics.s.

  • An analytic design formula is proposed for a TEM mode dielectric bandpass filter with attenuation poles at desired frequencies in the stop band. In order to sustain the constant ripple in the passband due to attenuation poles, the initial resonant frequencies of the various resonators adopted in a filter with attenuation poles are newly calculated. The proposed design theory is verified by designing various bandpass filters with attenuation poles in the stop band.

  • This letter presents the design and measured performance of bandpass filters based on a stacked-SIR (stepped impedance resonators) configuration with DGS (Defected Ground Structure). An unit DGS configuration is designed and analyzed to show the phase characteristic of proposed slow-wave structure. The SIR filter with DGS has been yielded better stop band and sharper skirt behavior than conventional bandpass filter.

  • The power system frequency plays an important role in monitoring and controlling the power system. The frequency can be measured through discrete Fourier transform (DFT) coefficients of its positive fundamental frequency. The accuracy of the frequency estimate is severely affected by noise in the power system signal and the leakage effect of the negative fundamental frequency in DFT. This paper proposes a DFT-based frequency estimation algorithm to cope with the noise as well as the leakage effect. In this algorithm, two suitable digital filters are introduced to reduce efficiently frequency estimate error due to the noise. These filters are designed to use a digital bandpass filter and a second-degree integrator. The effectiveness of the proposed algorithm in reduction of frequency estimate error is verified through simulations on noise, harmonics and frequency deviation.
