CNC 가공에서 절삭력 예측과 조절을 위한 절삭 시뮬레이션 시스템 개발 (Development of Cutting Simulation System for Prediction and Regulation of Cutting Force in CNC Machining)

  • This paper presents the cutting simulation system for prediction and regulation of cutting force in CNC machining. The cutting simulation system includes geometric model, cutting force model, and off-line fred rate scheduling model. ME Z-map(Moving Edge node Z-map) is constructed for cutting configuration calculation. The cutting force models using cutting-condition-independent coefficients are developed for flat-end milling and ball-end milling. The off-line feed rate scheduling model is derived from the developed cutting force model. The scheduled feed rates are automatically added to a given set of NC code, which regulates the maximum resultant cutting force to the reference force preset by an operator. The cutting simulation system can be used as an effective tool for improvement of productivity in CNC machining.

기어 물림부의 스프링강성 변화와 구동기의 불균형을 고려한 2단 기어장치의 진동에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Vibration of 2-Stage Gear System Considering the Change of Gear Meshing Stiffness and Imbalance of Motor)

  • We develop a method to analyze dynamic behavior off multi-stage gear train system. The example system consists of three shafts supported by ball bearings at the ends of them and two pairs of spur gear set. For exact analysis, the meshing tooth pair of gear set is modeled as spring and damper having time-dependent meshing stiffness and damping. The bearing is modeled as spring. The result of this analysis is compared to that of other model having mean mesh stiffness. The effect of the excitation force by the unbalance off rotor off motor is also analyzed. Finally, the change ova natural frequency of the whole system due to the change of an angle between three shafts is compared in each case, and from this analysis, the avoiding angle for design is advised.

  • Monolayers such as self-assembled monolayer (SAM) have received considerable attention to reduce stiction and friction in micro-devices and microelectromechanical systems (MEMS). Various organic molecular films were investigated to obtain better understanding of their tribological behaviors and adhesion property. The organic molecular films studied in this work are: epoxysilane SAMs, octadecyltricholosilane (OST), multi-layers composed of epoxysilane SAMs, poly〔styrene-b-(ethylene-co-butylene)-b-styrene〕(SEBS) and compound of epoxy resin and poly (paraphenylene) (EP/PPP). The pull-off forces of these films were also obtained from force-distance curves measured in static mode of operation of atomic force microscope (AFM). Tribological tests were conducted with a ball-on-flat reciprocating friction tester. The OST showed the lowest pull-off force, indicating its low adhesion property. It was revealed that, the OST, EP/PPP and the multi-layer of epoxysilane SAMs, SEBS and EP/PPP exhibited good tribological properties at the lower load (0.3 N) whereas the OST showed best performance at the higher load (1.8 N).

Rhodopsin 의 再生에 對한 Nicotinamide 와 Folic Acid 의 影響에 關한 硏究 (Studies on the Influence of Nicotinamide and Folic Acid on the Regeneration of Rhodopsin)

  • Six frogs (Rana nigromaculata 25∼40 gm) were adapted to light for 2 hours. Then 0.02 ml of 3% nicotinamide and 0.02 ml of 0.6% folic acid were injected into the vitreous body of the right eye-ball, and 0.02 ml normal saline solution into the vitreous body of the left eye-ball respectively. After dark adaptation for an hour-their heads were cut off under a dim red light (650 $m{\mu}$). The retinae were removed from the left eye-ball for the control group and from the right for the test group respectively. Then rhodopsin was extracted from the retinae with 3 ml of 2% digitonin solution(pH = 7.0) for 17 hours at 0$^{\circ}C$ in the dark. The optical densities before and after the illumination of the extract were measured and compared with those of the control group. The results are as follows: 1) The group which had been injected with 0.02 ml of 3% nicotinamide solution had the promotive action on tile regeneration of rhodopsin in comparison with the control group. 2) The group which had been injected with 0.02 ml of 0.6% folic acid solution had the controlling action on the regeneration of rhodopsin in comparison with the control group.

Arc Sprayed부의 Erosion 특성평가 (An evaluation of arc sprayed layer on the erosion property)

  • The characteristics of arc sprayed layer were studied with hardness test and microstructural observation. The erosion resistance of arc sprayed layer was also evaluated using a method of steel ball blasting test which was proposed in this study as a test method for measuring the erosion properties in the impact wear condition. By an impact of the molten droplets on the redeposited substrate, lamella structure was formed which contains laminated oxide layers, fissures, and porosities. As a result of mechanical tests, it was shown that the sprayed specimen showed higher hardness than the substrate, but it resulted in higher erosion rate than the substrate. The poor erosion property obtained with a sprayed coating was considered to be attributable to easy flaking off the the layers laminated with brittle oxide layers.

표면 거칠기가 나노 응착력에 미치는 영향에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Effect of Surface Roughness on Nanoscale Adhesion)

  • Effect of Surface roughness on nanoscale adhesion was studied experimentally by using colloidal probe technique. Glass micro balls having the radius of $3.3\~17.4{\mu}m$ were glued at the end of AFM cantilevers to prepare colloidal probes. Adhesion force between the colloidal probe and Si-wafer was measured using pull-off force measuring method. Results showed that the measured adhesion forces are not the function of the radius of the glued balls because the ball surfaces are rough. It is also found that roughness parameters such as $R_a,\;R_q\;and\;R_{max}$ do not have important role on nanoscale adhesion. In order to find the effect of surface roughness on nanoscale adhesion, the bearing areas were extracted from the measured topography of glued balls. After normalizing the measured adhesion force with the bearing area, it was found that the normalized adhesion force kept constant as function of the radius of glued ball.

  • This paper describes a local modification capability on shell meshes, which can change a 'constant or variable radius of rounding for the s h q edges of the stamping die shoulder in the mesh. The algorithm consists of the followin_e three main steps; (1) the rounding area for sharp edges of a die shoulder are detected from the given shell mesh, (2) a rolling-ball surface with a given constant or variable radius is generated, which is contacti% with two incident face groups of the sharp edges, (3) the rounding area of the mesh is cut off, and a new mesh for the rolling-ball surface is generated and implanted into the gap. Owing to this rounding modification capability, CAE engineers can examine various cases based on the existing dies by scanning them to form polyhedral models and then changing radii of die shoulders for stamping process simulation.

Effect of Surface Pretreatment on the Corrosion Resistance of Epoxy-Coated Carbon Steel

  • The corrosion resistance of epoxy-coated carbon steel was evaluated. The carbon steel surface was subjected to different treatment methods such as steel grit blasting with different size, steel shot ball blasting and power tool treatment. To study the effect of the treatments, the topology of the treated surface was observed by optical 3D microscopy and a pull-off adhesion test was conducted. The corrosion resistance of the epoxy-coated carbon steel was further examined by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) combined with hygrothermal cyclic testing. The results of EIS indicated that the epoxy-coated carbon steel treated with steel grit blasting showed an improved corrosion resistance compared to untreated epoxy-coated surfaces or surfaces subjected to shot ball blasting and power tool treatments.

절삭성을 고려한 자유곡면 모형의 볼 엔드 밀링가공에 관한 연구 (Ball end milling of sculptured surface models by considering machinability)

  • 본 연구에서는 이와 같은 구비조건과 문제점들을 해소하기 위하여 Fig.1과 같 이 볼 엔드 밀링의 절삭성과 경제적 절삭 속도식을 실용식의 형태로 표현하여 절삭조 건의 최적화를 위한 구속조건으로 설정하였고, 이를 자유곡면의 절삭경로 산출과정에 서 구속조건을 만족하면서 부품당의 생산비를 최소로 하는 스핀들속도와 이송속도를 결정하는 데에 적용하였다. 그리고 이는 실험모형에의 적용예를 통해 계산시간과 정 확도 및 절삭효과 등에 있어서 실용화의 가능성을 검토하였다. 이때 절삭력계를 해 석 함에 있어서는 기하학적 절삭 파라미터들에 대해 무차원적으로 정의된 절삭작용 누 적계수(accumulating coefficient)들을 이용하여 절삭력계를 선형화 된 실용식으로 표 현하였으며, 절삭 상수들과 절삭작용 누적계수들의 선형적 표현에 의해 평균 절삭력계 를 계산한 후, 토크 패턴 모델에 의해 절삭력 집중비를 구함으로써 실 절삭계의 주변 력(peripheral force), 드러스트, 토크, 동력 등을 예측하였다. 또한 절삭속도의 결 정에 있어서는 경제적 절삭속도 예측모델을 설정하여 가공비를 최소로 하는 절삭속도 를 선정토록 하였다.

Ti 합금을 이용한 항공기용 Flexible PTO 샤프트 개발 시험 (Development Test for Flexible PTO Shaft Made of Ti Alloy for Aircraft)

  • 항공기 등에 사용되는 Flexible PTO(Power Take-Off) 샤프트는 스프링 특성을 좋게 하기 위해 여러장의 얇은 멤브레인을 용접한 형태로 1950년대에 이미 개발됐으며, AMAD(Aircraft Mounted Accessory Drive) 기어박스와 EMAD(Engine Mounted Accessary Drive) 기어박스 사이에서 회전동력을 전달한다. 이런 종류의 샤프트는 가볍고 특히 스프링 특성이 좋기 때문에 축 정렬이 틀어진 고속회전 상태에서도 안정적으로 회전동력을 전달할 수 있어 대부분의 전투기에 사용된다. 이번 연구에서 티타늄 합금으로 개발된 Flexible PTO 샤프트의 구조해석을 통해 제품의 안전성을 확인하였고, 실제 실험실에서 진행된 고속회전 시험에서 굽힘과 비틀림 부하를 동시에 인가하여 샤프트의 고주기 피로에 대한 내성을 실증하였다. 또한, 고주기 피로 시험 조건에서 항공기용 볼 조인트의 마모 특성 분석을 통해 수명을 예측하였다.
