  • Today many people are greatly interested in the environment. Especially increasing affluent of food causes a great amount of food waste. To handle this effectively, we now have a lot of problems of disposing garbage all over the world. In Korea, in order to reduce this garbage, we should use a standard plastic garbage bag in which we have to throw away our garbage. So it has an effect on significantly reducing the waste amount every year. Now, there are a lot of cases that residents use several times a standard plastic garbage bag. The purpose of this study is to develop the recognition device preventing the re-cycling of a standard plastic garbage bag. As a result, we obtain 1% error rate.

Dynamic PIV analysis of High-Speed Flow from Vent Holes of Fill-Hose in Curtain type Airbag (Dynamic PIV 기법을 이용한 커튼에어백 Vent Hole 고속유동 해석)

  • Passenger safety is fundamental factor in automobile. Among much equipment for passenger safety, the air bag system is the most fundamental and effective device. Beside of the front air bag system which installed on most of all automobiles, a curtain-type air bag is increasingly adapted in deluxe cars fur protecting passengers from the danger of side clash. Curtain type airbag system consists of inflator housing, fill hose, curtain airbag. Inflator housing is a main part of the curtain-type air bag system for supplying high-pressure gases to deploy the air bag-curtain. Fill hose is a passageway to carry the gases from inflator housing to each part of curtain airbag. Therefore, it is very important to design the vent holes of fill hose for good performance of airbag deployment. But, the flow information from vent holes of fill hose is very limited. In this study, we measured instantaneous velocity fields of a high-speed flow ejecting from the vent holes of fill hose using a dynamic PIV system. From the velocity Held data measured at a high frame-rate, we evaluated the variation of the mass flow rate with time. From the instantaneous velocity fields of flow ejecting from the vent holes in the initial stage, we can see a flow pattern of wavy motion and fluctuation. The flow ejecting from the vent holes was found to have very high velocity fluctuations and the maximum velocity was about 480m/s at 4-vent hole region. From the mass flow rate with time, the accumulated flow of 4-vent hole has occupied about 70% of total flow rate.

Analysis of Resistance Distribution of the Midwater Trawl Net (중층 트롤 그물의 저항 분포 해석)

  • Quality and distribution of the TEA(Total Enclosed Area), TSA(Twine Surface Area), solidity ratio and resistance according to the partial nets of the midwater trawl net were examined through experiment at the sea to standardize a design of the midwater trawl net.The results can be summarized as follows;1. The TEA, TSA and resistance of the trawl net were increased definitely according to increasing the scale of the trawl net, and this is the most important factor to design the trawl net.2. As the result of analysis of the distributions of the bag net was smaller than the others. Because TEA for rear end of the wing net is decreased suddenly, we can judge that the trawl net was towed irregularly. 3. The resistance distribution of the partial net was increased suddenly from central part of the bag net and was showed large value in the codend.4. The resistance of the net from the position one of three to gab net and codened charged 75% at all resistance of net.

Application of Electronic Retailing in Apparel (의류를 중심으로 한 전자상거래의 활용 실태에 관한 연구)

  • This research examines 13 Korean Web sites and 15 foreign Web Sites to explore how companies present apparel products by both layout of graphics and information at the Web sites. The results show that most Web sites display tiny icons next to the item's text description. Clicking on these icons takes the customers to another web page, where the full size photograph of the item appears. The results also revealed that most web sites offer shopping bag function and payment options such as on-line and credit cards. The results indicate that Web sites are constantly evolving and following functions such as virtual dressing room, FAQ, the links, E-Cash payment, currency converter and multilingual sites are becoming standards in the near future.

측면 충돌시 Restraint system의 효과에 관한 연구 -Seat wing의 효과-

  • 자동차의 안전도는 전통적으로 정면 충돌시 승객의 보호 정도를 가지고 비 교 된다. 그러나 근래에 와서는 다양한 사고에 의한 승객의 피해를 볼 때 정면 과 더불어 측면 충돌시의 피해를 무시할 수 없는 상태에 이르렀다. sled tests 등을 통해서 정면 뿐만 아니라 측면 충돌의 영향도 파악하고 있으나 정면 충돌보다 측면 충돌에 대해 승개 보호 장치의 개발이 미흡한 것이 현실이다. 본 연구에서는 현실적으로 보다 효과적인 occupant (운전자 및 승객) restraint system을 computer 모의 실험을 통해서 제안하고자 하였다. 기존의 안전시스템인 lap/shoulder belt system과 Air cushion에 의한 실험은 다각도로 연구되었다. 그러나 측면 충돌에서 Air Bag에 의한 충돌 감소 영향은 정면 충돌에 비해 적어지게 되어 상체 측면 보호 장치가 필요하게 된다. 본 연구에서는 운전자의 lap/shoulder belt system과 Air Bag에 의해 구속되는 dummy를 가지고 다양한 측면 충돌 각도 (0 .deg. , 15 .deg. , 30 .deg. , 45 .deg. , 70 .deg. )에서 실험이 수행되었다. 또한 각 충돌각에 대해 기존 Restraint System에 상체 측면 보호 장치(seat wing)를 포함하여 실험을 수행 하였다. 이에 대한 각각의 영향, 그리고 승객 손상도 분석 및 평가를 통하여 보안된 측면 충돌 보호 restraint system의 필요성과 그 효과를 제시하고자 한다. 실험결과 에 의하면 정면보다 측면에서 충돌하였을 경우 보조 구속 시스템인 seat wing으로 인 해 측면보호는 물론 occupant는 정면으로 나가게 개선되어 구속 시스템으로써의 이점이 확대되고 shoulder blet 또는 dummy의 감속을 통제하는 Air Bag의 잠재적인 이점이 더욱 확대되었음을 보여주고 있다. 그러나 design 단계에서 편안함, 안락감 등의 문제들과, 다른 실용적인 면에 대한 계속적인 연구가 필요하다.

Filtration Characteristics of the Fugitive Dust Emitting from Animal Feedstuff Handling (사료 부원료 하역과정에서 발생하는 비산먼지의 여과특성)

  • Animal feedstuff handling is one of the major fugitive dust sources in the port of Incheon. For the effective control of fugitive dusts emitting from the port of Incheon, dust control facilities with bag filter systems should be designed properly considering the characteristic of the fugitive dusts including those from animal feedstuffs. The ultimate goal of this study is thus to develop the optimum fugitive dust control system which will be applicable for the renovation of the port. As the first step to achieve this longstanding goal, filtration characteristics of soybean shell, the largest dust sources in the port, were investigated with the specially designed filter testing apparatus for this study. The variables tested for the experiments included filter materials, dust concentrations, relative humidities, and filtration velocities. Also, the filtration characteristics of the other animal feedstuffs such as sunflower seed shell, tapioca, and palm shell were investigated to determine $K_2$ as a function of filtration velocity. The information on $K_2$ will be used to design the optimum bag filter systems for animal feedstuffs handling in the port.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze design characteristics of Chanel bags by its type and shape, material, color, pattern, decorations in order to give information about foundation of the development of Korean fashion brand handbags and help suggest predict future handbag trends. The methods of this study are documentary research and demonstrative research. For the documentary research, mainly previous researches and fashion related data were used. For the demonstrative research, the total of 288 design photos of Chanel bag were selected from 2001 S/S season to 2008 F/W season fashion collections of firstview.com., style.com., and mode et mode. The results of this study are as follows; First, type and shape of bags are clutch(30%), flap(25%), shoulder(25%), others(10%), tote(5%), hobo(5%). Second, the material data shows that leather(46%), mixed(18%), fabric(17%), synthetics (10%), patent(3%), others(3%), and suede(2%). Third, the patterns are geometrical(27%), solid(25%), combination(24%), symbolic(11%), abstract(11%), nature(2%). Fourth, the colors are largely monochrome(73%) and multicolor(27%). In case of monochrome, achromatic color(50%) is more than chromatic color(23%). The chromatic color is consisted of YR(9%), Y(9%), R(5%), RP(4%), PB(2%), P(1%), GY(0.5%), BG(0.5%). The multicolor is consisted of similar coloration(12%), contrast coloration(10%), and accent coloration(5%). Fifth, the decoration data shows that metallic(53%), plain(23%), combination(22%), and handcrafted(1%).

A Study on the Passenger Airbag Design Parameters Influencing Child Injury (어린이 상해에 영향을 주는 조수석 에어백 설계 인자에 대한 연구)

  • The passenger airbag(PAB) designed for standard sized adults may induce unexpected results to children in out-of-position(OOP) postures. In this work, using MADYMO software, simulations of the OOP injury of children have been performed with respect to PAB design parameters and child dummy positions. The attention is focused on some details with respect to the injury of 3 and 6 year old children in two OOP postures. Among the various design parameters of the passenger airbag systems, four parameters are selected for the sensitivity analysis of the injury with the Taguchi method: bag folding pattern, vent hole size, position of the cover tear seam and the type of door tear seam. An optimal combination of the parameters is suggested.

Design and Evaluation of a Cinch Bag Typed Robotic Gripper for Fruit Harvesting (과수 수확을 위한 주머니 방식의 로봇 그리퍼 설계 및 검증)

  • In this paper, the cinch bag typed fruit harvesting gripper was proposed. This gripper is focused on preventing problems that we found from the related research and setting the breakthrough as a design condition according to the harvest failures of other related studies. The cover part is designed to overcome the surrounding obstacles of target fruits such as tomato, Korean melon, and sweet pepper. The measurement of maximum load showed that the well-grasped target object, such as a spherical object with 65 mm of diameter, is unable to slip in a range of 0 kg to 10 kg. The fact that the gripper allows from 4 cm to 6 cm of positional error was shown in the measurement of positional error tolerance. And the cover part of this gripper showed that the suggested gripper can grab a target object without being obstructed by leaves and stems. Finally, it was proved that the gripper satisfied the design conditions through the measurement of contacting force, which showed it is appropriate for grasping an actual fruit without damage.
