A new method to calculate the transmittable prevalence of an epidemic disease is proposed based on a back-calculation formula. We calculated the probabilities of reactivation and of parasitemia as well as transmittable prevalence (the number of persons with parasitemia in the incubation period) of malaria in South Korea using incidence of 12 years(2001-2012). For this computation, a new probability function of transmittable condition is obtained. The probability of reactivation is estimated by the least squares method for the back-calculated longterm incubation period. The probability of parasitemia is calculated by a convolution of the survival function of the short-term incubation function and the probability of reactivation. Transmittable prevalence is computed by a convolution of the infected numbers and the probabilities of transmission. Confidence intervals are calculated using the parametric bootstrap method. The method proposed is applicable to other epidemic diseases in other countries where incidence and a long incubation period are available. We found the estimated transmittable prevalence in South Korea was concentrated in the summer with 276 cases on a peak at the $31^{st}$ week and with about a 60% reduction in the peak from the naive prevalence. The statistics of transmittable prevalence can be used for malaria prevention programs and to select blood transfusion donors.

The high-frequency analysis method of back-scattering cross section spectrum of rotating targets is established. The time history of the back-scattering cross section is calculated using a quasi-stationary approach, based on a physical optics and a physical theory of diffraction, combining an adaptive triangular beam method to consider the shadow effect. And the spectra of back-scattering cross section by the Doppler effect are analyzed applying a simple fast Fourier transform method to its time history. The numerical calculation for rotating targets, such as rotating metal plates and underwater propeller, are carried out. The time history appears to be periodic with respect to the number of wings. The backscattering cross section spectrum level and its frequency shift are dependent on the rotating speed, direction, and the shape of the targets.
In this study, the indirect estimation method of the support load which is based upon the integrated measuring technique suggested by Kovari was applied to the calculation of support load in the mine roadway. Four test supports were installed in the area where they had to be replaed. Two of those were GI-130 rigid supports and the others were U-26 yieldable supports. The vibrating wire strain gages which were attached inpairs on the steel arch support were used to provide an accurate measurement. Bending moments and normal forces obtained from strain gage pairs were used to calculate the support load. This method was also verified by laboratory bending tests. The results obtained from the back-calculction method showed relatively good agreement with the measured convergence for each crossection.
In this paper, we validate the decay heat calculation capability via a two-step method to analyze spent nuclear fuel (SNF) discharged from pressurized water reactors (PWRs). The calculation method is implemented with a lattice code STREAM and a nodal diffusion code RAST-K. One of the features of this method is the direct consideration of three-dimensional (3D) core simulation conditions with the advantage of a short simulation time. Other features include the prediction of the isotope inventory by Lagrange non-linear interpolation and the use of power history correction factors. The validation is performed with 58 decay heat measurements of 48 fuel assemblies (FAs) discharged from five PWRs operated in Sweden and the United States. These realistic benchmarks cover the discharge burnup range up to 51 GWd/MTU, 23.2 years of cooling time, and spanning an initial uranium enrichment range of 2.100-4.005 wt percent. The SNF analysis capability of STREAM is also employed in the code-to-code comparison. Compared to the measurements, the validation results of the FA calculation with RAST-K are within ±4%, and the pin-wise results are within ±4.3%. This paper successfully demonstrates that the developed decay heat calculation method can perform SNF back-end cycle analyses.
In this paper two methods of torque control for brushless DC motor with non-ideal trapezoidal back EMF are presented. One is the method of modulating the reference current so as to give a constant torque since the torque is given by the back EMF and the. phase currents. And the current control loop includes the feedforward control of back EMF and of the neutral voltage between the neutral points of the inverter and of the machine. The other is a direct voltage calculation algorithm for a given reference torque. In the two methods, the time delay due to the calculation is compensated by one sampling current prediction. The simulation results are presented to verify the proposed methods.
This study outputs calculation of regression of each items for production of torso basic pattern according to 6 body types as the result of another study and intends to present drawing method of torso model by short measure method modified and supplied and supplied by experiments of wearing clothing. SAS(Statistical Analysis System) is used for figures management and methods for analysis used are Frequency Analysis, Means Analysis, Regression Analysis, Correlation Analysis, etc. Results are as follows. 1. Correlation analysis is used to output the size necessary for torso prototype drawing by sort measure method and waist front length, back length, crotch length, shoulder point-cerricale-shoulder point, bust circumference, waist circumference, weight, etc, are set up as representative items calculation of regression of each type is suggested. 2. In the result of experiment of the first wearing clothing intended for 5 in each type and the whole 30, to develop torso prototype drawing method by short measure method, as we find some problems of the shape and propriety of neck root circumference line, the position of shoulder point, pulling or hold armpit parts, waist circumference line, the degree of dissatisfaction is high, so the second experiment of wearing clothing is propriety of each part is improved, all items except the length and quantity of shoulder dart, waist in back bodice, clearance quantity of hip circumference, and the place of shoulder line in side bodice. So, it was modifed and supplied and then the third torso prototyped drawing method by shout measure method was suggested. The third prototype drawing method was suggested, by modifying and supplying.
This paper presents the verification and validation (V&V) of a calculation module for isotope inventory prediction to control the back-end cycle of spent nuclear fuel (SNF). The calculation method presented herein was implemented in a two-step code system of a lattice code STREAM and a nodal diffusion code RAST-K. STREAM generates a cross section and provides the number density information using branch/history depletion branch calculations, whereas RAST-K supplies the power history and three history indices (boron concentration, moderator temperature, and fuel temperature). As its primary feature, this method can directly consider three-dimensional core simulation conditions using history indices of the operating conditions. Therefore, this method reduces the computation time by avoiding a recalculation of the fuel depletion. The module for isotope inventory calculates the number densities using the Lagrange interpolation method and power history correction factors, which are applied to correct the effects of the decay and fission products generated at different power levels. To assess the reliability of the developed code system for back-end cycle analysis, validation study was performed with 58 measured samples of pressurized water reactor (PWR) SNF, and code-to-code comparison was conducted with STREAM-SNF, HELIOS-1.6 and SCALE 5.1. The V&V results presented that the developed code system can provide reasonable results with comparable confidence intervals. As a result, this paper successfully demonstrates that the isotope inventory prediction code system can be used for spent nuclear fuel analysis.
This study develops a bodice pattern for high school girls aged 17 to 19 that use virtual garment simulation. The study developed a bodice pattern based on the fit evaluation result for two selected bodice patterns. The basic formula of the design method based on the result of 3 times of fit evaluation is as follows: waist back $length=stature/8{\times}1.85cm$, waist front length=waist back length+bust/40+0.7cm, front bust girth=bust/2+4cm, back bust girth=Chest/2+3cm, armscye depth=Chest/4+0.5cm, back interscye length=bishoulder length -1.2cm, front interscye length=back interscye length -1.2cm, front neck width=back neck width -0.3cm. The developed bodice pattern used Bishoulder Length as a criteria for the calculation formula of back interscye length, and back interscye length as a criteria for the calculation formula of front interscye length. The fit evaluation showed the relevance of the bishoulder length, front interscye length, and back interscye length based on a comparison of the calculated figure. A bodice pattern with great body suitability and fitness to high school girls was developed through 3D virtual garment simulation that calculated the application of body proportion to width. This study only analyzed the evaluation result of a virtual model only in a representative form; however, a pattern study is also proposed to compare and analyze the design methods of patterns by body type.

A neural network with one or more layers of hidden units can be trained using the well-known error
back propagation algorithm. According to this algorithm, the synaptic weights of the network are updated
during the training by propagating back the error between the expected output and the output provided
by the network. However, the error back propagation algorithm is characterized by slow convergence and
the time required for training and, in some situation, can be trapped in local minima.
A theoretical formulation of a new fast learning method based on tabu search method is presented in
this paper. In contrast to the conventional back propagation algorithm which is based solely on the modification
of connecting weights of the network by trial and error, the present method involves the calculation
of the optimum weights of neural network. The effectiveness and versatility of the present method
are verified by the XOR problem. The present method excels in accuracy compared to that of the conventional
method of fixed values.

In welded steel structures, there are many stress concentration sites such as weld beads, and welding defects are likely to occur at the welded parts. When a repeated fatigue load acts on a stress concentration site, fatigue crack occurs and propagates, leading to fatigue fracture. Therefore, it is necessary to understand fatigue life, crack initiation life, and crack propagation life in order to prevent fatigue failure. In this study, a compliance method was derived for use in the study of fatigue crack propagation characteristics. This compliance can be used for automated measurement of fatigue cracks. The compliance was calculated using an in-house FEM program for a CT specimen. The results of this calculation are presented in relation to a/W and compared with calculation results using the J integral and a program from a previous study. In addition, the strain distribution in the upward and downward directions was calculated from the center of the back face of the CT specimen. In this distribution, the strain tended to decrease from the center to the top and bottom. The compliance method was achieved from these calculations and can be used for automatic execution of crack propagation tests.
