Design models of PTIS in a telecommunication point of view, and implementation case at Seoul city (PTIS : Public Transportation Information System)

  • A transportation problem in Korea is a serious issue that has to be solved urgently in the motor era of 15 million vehicles. Recently ITS has been introduced to improve efficiency of the current roads because an excessive budget and a long term construction are needed to build new roads. Therefore the government enacted the law as of ITS and the in architecture. However, these ITS information services were oriented to mainly vehicles and drivers, not public entities such as bus driver, passengers and so on. Nowadays lots of local autonomous city introduced a public transportation information system (PTIS), and providing useful information for the public. For this PTIS, important design issues are to be focused on detecting and tracking technology of moving bus, and a wireless communication link to transmit the location information. This paper presents design models using several wireless communication methods, and an implementation case using a Wireless packet Data communication Network (WDN) to transmit bus location information at Seoul, Korea.

스마트 그리드 망을 위한 IEC61970/IEC61850 통합 정보 모델과 토폴로지 모델 설계 (Designs of the Unified Information Model-IEC61850/IEC61970 and Topology Model for Smart Grid)

  • The smart grid, which is an integrated type of the power system and the digital network, requires the integration of a CIM(Common Information Model) standard for information modelling at the power control centers and an IEC 61850 standard for automation at the substation level in order to efficiently exchange the information between system elements. This paper describes the method of data transfer from one standard information model to the other standard unified information model by mapping between the objects of IEC 61850 and IEC61970 CIM standards both in the static and dynamic models, and designs the method of data transfer and information exchange between the topology processing application using unified topology class packages.

Effect of ginseng saponins on the induction of $\beta$-galactosidase in yeast

  • The effect of red ginseng saponins (total saponins, Rbl- and Rgl- fraction of saponins) on the induction of $\beta$-galactosidase in yeast, hccharomyces cereuisiae, was investigated to see that ginseng saponins would penetrate the cell membrane and have a function in a nucleus as steroid hormones do. To attain such a kind of purpose, a DNA fragment (685bp) containing GALI promoter was inserted into the sites of EcoRl and BamHl of polylinker region, upstream of lace gene of the plasmid YEp356 (7.966 Kb), and thus the resulting plasmid pGALl-lacZ is supposed to express $\beta$- galactosidase only in the presence of galactose. The plasmid pGALl -lacZ was introduced into yeast, Ky106 (a leu2 ura3 his3 trp 1 Iys2), and the growth of the transformed cells was much slower in the presence of galactose than glucose. The effects of saponins on the specific activity of P-galactosidase from transformed yeast cells were detected. No significant increase was observed in case of total saponins, but the Rbl- or Rgl- fraction of saponins gave much higher increase in the activity. Maximum increase was observed as 35% in 10-3% of Rbl and as 75% in 10-1% of Rgl. These data suggest that ginseng saponins might be able to enter the nucleus and stimulate transcription. However, further studies to find out the putative saponin receptor are needed to confirm this possibility. Key words : Red ginseng saponin, $\beta$-galactosidase induction, Saccharomyces cerevisiae.

비모수 회귀분석을 이용한 실시간 통행시간 예측 기법 개발 및 평가 (서울시 버스를 중심으로) (Development and Evaluation of Real-time Travel Time Forecasting Model: Nonparametric Regression Analysis for the Seoul Transit System)

  • 2004년 7월, 서울시는 대중교통 이용률을 높이고, 여러 교통 문제를 해소 또는 완화하기 위해 버스 중심의 대중교통체계로 대대적인 개편을 단행하였다. 중앙버스전용차로제가 확대 시행되었고, 광역, 간선. 지선 순환의 네 가지 형태로 노선을 구분. 정비하였으며, 통합거리비례요금제 방식을 도입하였다. 이와 함께 BMS(Bus Management System)의 구축으로 서울시 버스 시스템 전반에 대한 관리 및 제어가 가능해 짐으로써 버스 이용자들에게 보다 신속, 정확하게 실시간 정보를 제공할 수 있게 되었다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 서울시의 새로운 대중교통체계에 맞추어. 선행연구를 통해 정립된 최적경로 탐색기법들을 적용하여 대중교통 최적경로를 산출하고, 기존의 여러 통행시간예측모형 비교를 통해 선정된 비모수 회귀분석 기법을 적용하여 주간선 및 보조간선 도로망에서의 대중교통 데이터에 기초한 통행시간 예측 응용 프로그램을 구현하였다. 그리고 구현된 프로그램의 정확성과 신속성 평가를 통해 실제 시스템에서의 적용가능성과 그 방안들을 제시하였다.

  • 버스정보시스템(BIS: Bus Information System) 이란 기존의 버스교통에 첨단의 정보 통신, 컴퓨터 전자, 제어등의 기술을 접목시켜, 실시간으로 버스위치를 파악하고, 수집된 정보를 가공하여, 버스 이용자 및 관리자에게 각각의 필요한 운행정보를 제공하는 시스템이다. 현재 국내의 버스정보시스템 또는 버스관리시스템(BMS)의 추진이 활발히 진행중이다. 이와 같이 각 자치단체 단위로 설치, 운영되고 있는 버스정보시스템(BIS)의 정보의 질적 향상은 향후화대 사업 및 운영관리 측면에 있어서 중요한 사안이다. 따라서 본 연구는 기 구축 운영중인 안양시 버스정보제공서비스를 대상으로, 버스정보시스템의 품질을 평가함으로서 시스템의 수준에 적합한 평가항목을 선정하고 평가함으로써 최적의 질(quality)을 유도하는데 기여하고자 하였다. 이는 궁극적으로 대중교통서비스의 질적 향상을 도모하고 대중교통 이용 활성화 및 보다 효율적인 대중교통운영에 이바지할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

현장 및 실내조사를 통한 일반국도교량의 화재위험요소 분석 (Investigation of Potential Fire Hazard Resources of Bridges on National Routes by Field and Web-based Satellite)

  • PURPOSES : The occurrence of unexpected disasters, including fire events, increases as the road network becomes complicated and traffic volume increases. When a fire event occurs on and under bridges, the damage extensively influences direct damage to structures, vehicles, and human life and secondary socioeconomic issues owing to traffic blockage. This study investigated potential fire-hazard risks on bridges of the Korean national route road. METHODS : The investigation was conducted using field investigation and analysis with satellite pictures and road views from commercial websites and the Bridge Management System (BMS). From the filed investigation, various potential fire resources were identified. The satellite pictures and road views were helpful in measuring and recognizing conditions underneath bridges, stowage areas, etc. RESULTS : There are various potential fire resources underneath bridges such as piled agricultural products, parked petroleum tanks, construction equipment, and attached high-voltage cables. A total of 94.6% of bridges have underneath clearances of less than 15 m. A bridge underneath volume that can stow a potential fire hazard resource was $7,332m^3$ on average, and most bridges have about $4,000m^3$ of space. Based on the BMS data, the amounts of PSC and steel girders were 29% and 25%, respectively. CONCLUSIONS : It was found that the amount of stowed potential fire hazard resources was proportional to the underneath space of bridges. Most bridges have less than 15 m of vertical clearance that can be considered as a critical value for a bridge fire. The fire risk investigation results should be helpful for developing bridge fire-protection tools.

임베디드 보드를 사용한 EKF 기반 실시간 배터리 SOC 추정 (Real-time EKF-based SOC estimation using an embedded board for Li-ion batteries)

  • 정확한 SOC 추정은 배터리 운영 전략을 제시하는 중요한 지표로 많은 연구가 진행되었다. 기존 연구에서 검증을 위해 주로 사용되던 시뮬레이션 방식은 실제 BMS 환경처럼 실시간 SOC를 추정하기 어렵다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 실시간 배터리 SOC 추정이 가능한 임베디드 시스템을 구현하고 검증 과정에서 발생 가능한 문제 분석을 목표로 한다. 2개의 라즈베리파이 보드로 구성된 환경은 Simscape 배터리에서 측정된 데이터로 EKF 기반 SOC 추정을 진행한다. 검증 단계에서는 온도에 따라 달라지는 배터리 특성을 고려하여, 다양한 주변 온도에서 결과를 확인하였다. 또 임베디드 환경에서 발생하는 오프셋 오류와 패킷 손실에 대비하여, 문제 상황에서 SOC 추정 성능을 검증하였다. 이를 통해 안정범위의 5%내의 오차를 갖는 실시간 SOC 추정이 가능한 임베디드 시스템 구현을 위한 전략을 제시한다.

Prediction of Remaining Useful Life of Lithium-ion Battery based on Multi-kernel Support Vector Machine with Particle Swarm Optimization

  • The estimation of the remaining useful life (RUL) of lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries is important for intelligent battery management system (BMS). Data mining technology is becoming increasingly mature, and the RUL estimation of Li-ion batteries based on data-driven prognostics is more accurate with the arrival of the era of big data. However, the support vector machine (SVM), which is applied to predict the RUL of Li-ion batteries, uses the traditional single-radial basis kernel function. This type of classifier has weak generalization ability, and it easily shows the problem of data migration, which results in inaccurate prediction of the RUL of Li-ion batteries. In this study, a novel multi-kernel SVM (MSVM) based on polynomial kernel and radial basis kernel function is proposed. Moreover, the particle swarm optimization algorithm is used to search the kernel parameters, penalty factor, and weight coefficient of the MSVM model. Finally, this paper utilizes the NASA battery dataset to form the observed data sequence for regression prediction. Results show that the improved algorithm not only has better prediction accuracy and stronger generalization ability but also decreases training time and computational complexity.

배터리 팩 내부 과방전 사전 진단을 위한 모델기반 셀 간 불균형 특성 파라미터 분석 연구 (Model-based Analysis of Cell-to-Cell Imbalance Characteristic Parameters in the Battery Pack for Fault Diagnosis and Over-discharge Prognosis)

  • Most diagnosis approaches rely on historical failure data that might not be feasible in real operating conditions because the battery voltage and internal parameters are nonlinear according to various operating conditions, such as cell-to-cell configuration and initial condition. To overcome this issue, the estimator and the predictor require integrated approaches that consider comprehensive data, with the degradation process and measured data taken into account. In this paper, vector autoregressive models (VAR) with various parameters that affect overdischarge to the cell in the battery pack were constructed, and the cell-to-cell parameters were identified using an adaptive model to analyze the influence of failure prognosis. The theoretical analysis is validated using experimental results in terms of the feasibility and advantages of fault prognosis.

전장관리체계 운용을 위한 전투지휘용 차량의 성능개량 개념 (A Concept Study on Improving Command Post Vehicles for Operating Battle Management System)

  • So far, Korean command post vehicles(CPs) have used voice-only radio communication among the mechanized troop units such MBTs and IFVs, etc. But digital data communication technology should be introduced to improve mission success capabilities and accommodate integrated combat capabilities through increasing SA(situation Awareness), or spatiotemporal synchronization of military operation in battle field environment. Therefore, conventional CPs, which have been operated without digital network, urgently needs to mount a battle management system which furnish with tactical information network, considering that korean new MBTs or new IFVs will be fielded soon. This study suggests some performance enhancement method which might be applicable to CPs which have a role of connecting Battalion unit to Brigade C4I system.
