BMS(Battery Management System) in EV system(Electric Vehicle) senses voltage, temperature and the charging or discharging current of batteries. The main roles of BMS are to estimate SOC(State OF Charge) of batteries and optimally monitor them according to the operation state of EV system which is motoring mode or charging mode. In this paper, we propose the proper algorithm about BMS's roles and operation which is suitable to EV system and illustrate validity and effectiveness through the experiments which were performed in the condition of Vehicle road test and charging test.
A Design and Fabrication of 565 Mbit/s Optical Fiber Transmission Link We calculated the transfer functions of optical channel components and formulated the optimum transfer function of optical receiver for optical transmission to show a design rule of fiber optical link for digital transmission. And we evaluated various causes of sensitivity degradation to determine the receiver specification. Also we fabricated and demonstrated a 565Mbit/s single mode fiber optic link, 27km, to show the practicality of designed fiber optic link. The output power of the transmitter was above -3dBm, and the sensitivity of the optical receiver was -37.8dBm which is the same value we expected. Also the dynamic range was more than 25dB.

In this paper, low conversion loss 94 GHz MIMIC resistive mixer was designed and fabricated. The $0.1{\mu}m$ InGaAs/InAlAs/GaAs Metamorphic HEMT, which is applicable to MIMIC's, was fabricated. The DC characteristics of MHEMT are 665 mA/mm of drain current density, 691 mS/mm of maximum transconductance. The current gain cut-off frequency(fT) is 189 GHz and the maximum oscillation frequency(fmax) is 334 GHz. A 94 GHz resistive mixer was fabricated using $0.1{\mu}m$ MHEMT MIMIC process. From the measurement, the conversion loss of the 94 GHz resistive mixer was 8.2 dB at an LO power of 10 dBm. P1 dB(1 dB compression point) of input and output were 9 dBm and 0 dBm, respectively. LO-RF isolations of resistive mixer was obtained 15.6 dB at 94.03 GHz. We obtained in this study a lower conversion loss compared to some other resistive mixers in W-band frequencies.
Protected crop production has been popular in Korea as well as in other countries. Intensive and continuous monitoring and control of the environment, which is labor- and time-consuming, is critical for stable crop productivity and profitability, otherwise damage could be happened due to unfavorable ambient and soil conditions. In the study, potential utilization of smartphone and remote access application in protected crop production environment was investigated. Tested available remote access applications provided functions of mouse click (left and right buttons), zooming in and out, and screen size and color resolution control. Wi-Fi data communication speeds were affected by signal intensity and user place. Data speeds at high (> -55 dBm), medium (-70~-56 dBm), and low (< -71 dBm) signal intensity levels were statistically different (${\alpha}=0.05$). Means of data communication speed were 6.642, 4.923, and 2.906 Mbps at hot spot, home, and office, respectively, and the differences were significant at a 0.05 level. Smart phone and remote access application were applied successfully to remote monitoring (inside temperature and humidity, and outside precipitation, temperature, and humidity) and control (window and light on/off) of green house environment. Response times for monitoring and control were less than 1 s at all places for high signal intensity (> -55 dBm), but they were increased to 1 ~ 10 s at home and office and to 10 ~ 30 s at hot spot for low signal intensity (< -71 dBm) for Wi-Fi. Results of the study would provide useful information for farmers to apply these techniques for their crop production.
Barley is a main food source, along with rice, in our dietary life that is easy to buy and process. It is required to develop a beverage base and barley syrup for desserts in order to raise utilization of barley beyond its present use in Sikhye (sweet fermented rice drink) and Jocheong (grain syrup) production. In pursuit of the goal to increase the usability of barley as an ingredient of processed food, this study examined the optimal preparation conditions of barley mash for barley syrup. In addition, the study prepared a barley syrup using saccharified barley liquid, analyzed quality characteristics, and conducted a sensory evaluation. Saccharified barley liquid(barley mash) was prepared with ratios of adding malt of unhulled barley germinated as 0 g(CON), 10 g(BM10), 20 g(BM20), and 30 g(BM30). The results of measuring pH under the varied conditions of saccharification temperatures from $50^{\circ}C$, $60^{\circ}C$, and $70^{\circ}C$, as well as time from 1 to 8 hours, treveal that the optimum condition for malt saccharification is $60^{\circ}C$ for 5 hours. By adding oligosaccharides and lemon juice to the saccharified barley liquid at the different ratios of added malt, this study measured quality characteristics(color value, viscosity, pH, sweetness) of barley syrup warmed up for 1 hour. As the result of measuring color in the barley syrup prepared by saccharified barley liquid, higher levels of added malt saw L-value decreased while a-value and b-value both increased. BMs30 showed the highest viscosity of $1,202.67{\pm}3.06$. As for pH, BMs30 was the highest at pH $3.57{\pm}0.02$. The result of the sensory evaluation of barley syrup showed the superior sensory characteristics of BMs20 in terms of color, flavor, sweetness, viscosity and overall quality.

A clock recovery circuit for a 40 Gb/s optical receiver has been designed and implemented. The clock recovery circuit consists of signal amplifiers, a nonlinear circuit with diodes, and a bandpass filter Before implementing the 40 Gb/s clock recovery circuit, a 10 Gb/s clock recovery circuit has been successfully implemented and tested. With the 40 Gb/s clock recovery circuit, when a 40 Gb/s NRZ signal of -10 dBm was applied to the input of the circuit, the 40 GHz clock was recovered with the -20 dBm output power after passing through the nonlinear circuit. The output signal from the nonlinear circuit passes through a narrow-band filter, and then amplified. The implemented clock recovery circuit is planned to be used for the input of a phase locked loop to further stabilize the recovered clock signal and to reduce the clock jitter.

In this work, we introduce a solution-processed CdS interlayer for use in inverted bulk heterojunction (BHJ) solar cells, and compare this material to a series of standard organic and inorganic cathode interlayers. Different combinations of solution-processed CdS, ZnO and conjugated polyelectrolyte (CPE) layers were compared as cathode interlayers on ITO substrates to construct inverted solar cells based on $PTB7:PC_{71}BM$ and a $P3HT:PC_{61}BM$ as photoactive layers. Introduction of a CdS interlayer significantly improved the power conversion efficiency (PCE) of inverted $PTB7:PC_{71}BM$ devices from 2.0% to 4.9%, however, this efficiency was still fairly low compared to benchmark ZnO or CPE interlayers due to a low open circuit voltage ($V_{OC}$), stemming from the deep conduction band energy of CdS. The $V_{OC}$ was greatly improved by introducing an interfacial dipole (CPE) layer on top of the CdS layer, yielding outstanding diode characteristics and a PCE of 6.8%. The best performing interlayer, however, was a single CPE layer alone, which yielded a $V_{OC}$ of 0.727 V, a FF of 63.2%, and a PCE of 7.89%. Using $P3HT:PC_{61}BM$ as an active layer, similar trends were observed. Solar cells without the cathode interlayer yielded a PCE of 0.46% with a poor $V_{OC}$ of 0.197 V and FF of 34.3%. In contrast, the use of hybrid ZnO/CPE layer as the cathode interlayer considerably improved the $V_{OC}$ of 0.599 V and FF of 53.3%, resulting the PCE of 2.99%. Our results indicate that the CdS layer yields excellent diode characteristics, however, performs slightly worse than benchmark ZnO and CPE layers in solar cell devices due to parasitic absorption below 550 nm. These results suggest that the hybrid inorganic/organic interlayer materials are promising candidates as cathode interlayers for high efficiency inverted solar cells through the modification of interface contacts.

This paper presents a broadband two-stage low noise amplifier(LNA) operating from 3 to 10 GHz, designed with 0.18 ${\mu}m$ RF CMOS technology, The cascode feedback topology and broadband matching technique are used to achieve broadband performance and input/output matching characteristics. The proposed UWB LNA results in the low noise figure(NF) of 3.4 dB, input/output return loss($S_{11}/S_{22}$) of lower than -10 dB, and power gain of 14.5 dB with gain flatness of $\pm$1 -dB within the required bandwidth. The input-referred third-order intercept point($IIP_3$) and the input-referred 1-dB compression point($P_{ldB}$) are -7 dBm and -17 dBm, respectively.
EV(Electric Vehicle) 차량에서 BMS(Battery Management System) 은 모터에 공급되는 고전압 배터리의 충전상태를 감지하여 VCU(Vehicle Control Unit)에 전송하게 된다.
