  • BLS weight adjustment is a widely used method for business surveys with non-responses and outliers. Recent surveys show that the non-response weight adjustment of the BLS method is the same as the ratio imputation method. In this paper, we suggested a modified BLS weight adjustment method by imputing missing values instead of using weight adjustment for non-response. Monthly labor survey data is used for a small Monte-Carlo simulation and we conclude that the suggested method is superior to the original BLS weight adjustment method.

  • Efficiency and sensitivity of BLS adjustment method have been studied and the method is known to provide more accurate estimate of total by using properly adjusted weights of samples. However, BLS methods provide different efficiencies according to the magnitudes of correlation coefficients and the sizes of samples in strata. In this paper we study the efficiency of the BLS adjustment according to the sample sizes and correlations in strata. For this study, 2007 monthly labor survey data is used.

  • Cross-wave regression imputation and carry-over imputation method are generally used in the analysis of panel data with missing values. Recently it is known that the BLS non-response adjust method has good statistical properties. In this paper we show that the BLS method can be considered as an imputation method with a similar formula of a ratio-estimator. In addition, we show that the carry-over imputation and BLS imputation are approximately the same under the assumption that data follow a non-stationary process with drift. Small simulation studies and real data analysis are performed. For the real data analysis, a monthly labor statistic (2007) is used.

  • BLS adjustment methods have been able to provide more accurate estimates of total and make samples represent population characteristics by post-adjustment of design weights of samples. However, BLS methods use additional data, for instance number of employee, without this information or using other information, give different weight adjustment factors. In this paper we studied the sensitivity of the variables used in BLS adjustment. The 2007 monthly labor survey data is used in analysis.

  • In sample design, it is usually planned by purpose and the range of the announcing statistics from the survey. After survey, getting a proper and decent statistics, applying the proper weights on the results of survey is very important and necessary. Therefore in this study, three estimation methods which are raking, BLS and general linear regression method are compared with MSE, Coverage, CV, LE and NC.

  • The panel survey is need to have a more concern about a response due to a secession and non-response of a sample. And generally a population is not fixed and continuously changed. Thus, the rotation sample design can be used by the method replacing the panel research. This paper is the study of comparison to equal weight method, Duncan weight, Design weight method, weight share method in rotation sample design. More specifically, this paper compared variance estimators about the existing each method for the efficiency comparison, and to compare the precision using the relative efficiency gain by the Coefficient Variance(CV) after getting the design weight from the actual data.

  • Prediction of demand for workforce in new and renewable energy is precondition for sustainable growth of an industry. The purpose of this research is to review prediction methods and case studies of workforce in new and renewable energy industry. This research compares the three methods in the focused on possibility of applying in renewable energy industry; survey, input-output and labor function estimation methods. Also, three cases are reviewed in the focused on applied method; Korea, America and Australia. As a result, the survey method was wildly used in the new and renewable industry. Also the improvement rates of work force are difference depending on the methodology. This result can be applied to set up the policy of human resource development of renewable energy.

  • Caenorhabditis elegans whose DNA sequence was completely identified is a representative species used in various research fields such as gene functional analysis and animal behavioral research. In the mean time, many researches on the bio-monitoring system to determine whether water is contaminated or not by using the swimming activities of nematodes. In this paper, we show the possibility of using the swimming activities of C. elegans in the development of a machine learning based bio-monitoring system which identifies chemicals that cause water pollution. To characterize swimming activities of nematode, BLS entropy is computed for the nematode in a frame. And, BLS entropy profile, an assembly of entropies, are classified into several patterns using clustering algorithms. Finally these patterns are used to construct data sets. We recorded images of swimming behavior of nematodes in the arenas in which formaldehyde, benzene and toluene were added at a concentration of 0.1 ppm, respectively, and evaluate the performance of the developed HMM.

  • This study was conducted for effective CPR by comparing the quality of chest compressions when using a new chest compression method during pediatric CPR. As an experimental study by Randomized Crossover Design, the depth, speed, compression-to-relaxation ratio, ease, and stability were measured when performing chest compressions for 28 Emergency Medical Technicians who completed the BLS Health Care-Provider qualification. The collected data were analyzed by using the SPSS Ver. 23.0 for Win statistical program. To summarize the results of this study, if the new chest compression method was used for chest compression in pediatric CPR, the qualitative indicators of chest compressions were improved. It is good to stick to the existing method, but through the new chest compression method, it will be necessary to confirm the possibility of clinical use based on additional research on various age groups and environmental factors.

  • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is an emergency treatment that stimulates blood circulation and breathing when the function of the heart stops or stops breathing. CPR can be divided by basic life support (BLS) and advanced life support (ALS). BLS involves the use of chest compression to force the blood flow to the main organs, rescue breathing to improve the breathing to the respiratory failure patient and the use automated external defibrillator (AED). The categories of advanced life support include advanced cardiovascular life support (ACLS) for adult and pediatric advanced life support (PALS) for children. In the treatment of dental care for children, which is extremely difficult to deal with, and for a variety of reasons, the use of sedation is considered to treat the children who are unlikely to cooperate with dentistry. This is why there is an increasing possibility of an emergency situation involving cardiac arrest. PALS includes the BLS, and it presents a systematic algorithm to treat respiratory failure, shock and cardiogenic cardiac arrest. In order to manage emergency situations in the pediatric dental clinic, respiratory support is most important. Therefore, mastering professional PALS, which includes respiratory care and core cases, particularly upper airway obstruction and respiratory depression caused by a respiratory control problem, would be highly desirable for a physician who treats pediatric dental patients. Regular training and renewal training every two years is necessary to be able to immediately implement professional skills in emergency situations.
