Location Estimation Method of Positioning System utilizing the iBeacon (iBeacon을 활용한 측위 시스템 위치추정 기법)

  • In this paper, by utilizing the iBeacon is BLE (BlueTooth Low Energy) protocol devices that are supported by over the Bluetooth 4.0, and have implemented a system to improve the accuracy in the system for measuring the position of the user. After measuring through the system according to the state of the iBeacon, the interference factors are analyzed through analysis of the collected data, and applying the extended Kalman filter for calibration. Compared with the data after applying a filter with existing data, it was confirmed an increase in accuracy. Improvement techniques for providing the less complexity to the actual implementation, is effective in improving the accuracy of vulnerable services basic iBeacon.

  • As interest in IoT has increased recently, services using IoT devices and smart phones have been applied to various industries. Among them, the electronic attendance system has been built and serviced by various institutions, but There is a problem that the user recognition is not accurate yet. In this paper, we propose a context recognition based user recognition method that can improve the accuracy of user recognition part in a system based on BLE beacon among existing electronic attendance systems.

  • 본 연구는 안전불감증으로 인하여 발생되는 인명피해 재난사고를 예방하고자 증강현실(Augmented Reality)기반 BLE 비콘(Beacon)을 사용하여 영화관 내 비상대피로 안내를 수행하는 시스템을 제안한다. 기존에 GPS를 사용하여 위치기반 증강현실 서비스가 제공되었다면 Beacon 위치정보를 탐색하는 것이 실내 위치기반 증강현실 서비스에서 더 정밀한 결과를 얻을 수 있다. 영화관 내에서 발생할 수 있는 화재, 가스, 붕괴 등 다양한 사건을 그래픽처리 하여 화면에 출력시키고 그에 따른 이벤트를 발생시켜 사용자가 가장 가까운 비상구의 위치로 대피할 수 있도록 네비게이션 역할을 하도록 하며, 사전에 실제 대피로를 체험할 수 있는 방안을 제시한다.

  • In this paper, we proposed an electronic attendance-absence recording system using a smartphone that does not require separate BLE(Bluetooth Low Energy) devices and infrastructure by using BLE advertisement technology of smartphone. The existing BLE-based electronic attendance-absence recording system requires a BEL device to be attached to each classroom for services and a separate technology to identify the devices attached to the classroom. Also, due to the interference with each other, sometimes an error occurred in the electronic connection. In this paper, we propose a system to solve the problems about time, place and cost, which is a disadvantage of the conventional Bluetooth beacon system. BLE advertising function of the smartphone that the user is using without BLE device, it is possible to construct infrastructure for electronic attendance-absence recording system. In order to evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed system, we designed the system structure and operation flow and constructed the system using the smart phone in actual used.

Position Error Correction Algorithm for Improvement of Positioning Accuracy in BLE Beacon Systems (BLE 비콘 시스템에서 측위 정밀도 향상을 위한 위치 오차 보정 알고리즘)

  • Recently, BLE beacons are widely used in indoor precision positioning systems because of their low battery consumption and low infrastructure cost. However, existing BLE beacon based indoor positioning algorithms are difficult to compensate for position errors due to the user's moving speed. Therefore, we proposed a position error correction algorithm that combines bounced cancellation and minimum distance maintenance algorithm with a positioning error correction method using direction vectors. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm guarantees superior positioning performance than the existing indoor positioning algorithm and also improves the performance of position error compensation.

  • Recent with the progress of smart devices, there is an increasing demand for indoor location-based services. For this reason, research on indoor positioning system using a iBeacon techniques added to BLE(Bluetooth Low Energy) specifications of Bluetooth4.0 has been actively. However, RSSI signal used for the measurement of the distance between the iBeacon and the receiving terminal has the problems of inaccurate distance measurement to environmental factors such as obstacles. In this paper, we propose an implemented indoor positioning technique to use filtering technology enhance the reliability of the RSSI signal and the broadcasting signal of the terminal access point function.

  • Recently, the activity area in the indoor space has been widening. Various types of service technologies have been developed and applied user location, tracking, spatial pattern analysis and environmental analysis in indoor space. BLE-based beacon is used for the service technology in the indoor space. Therefore, in this paper, we collected and analyzed signals for indoor positioning based on beacon. For this purpose, a module was designed to analyze the efficiency of indoor location measurement using beacon. Experimental results show that the accuracy of the measured data at close range is improved. Also, it was analyzed that the more accurate the position data is extracted without the obstacle in the indoor space.

  • OSC(Off-Site Construction) is regarded as a faster and more economical method in the construction industry, and the attention towards the OSC is growing. In the modular construction process, which is one type of OSC, accurate identification of a module is essential. Because the installation position and the MEP(Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) composition are distinct between modules, a defect in the finishing or junction area is likely to happen during the construction process. This study suggested the modular construction process by applying a beacon receiver using BLE(Bluetooth Low Energy) technology on each module. Construction quality management would be improved using the location and assembly data, particularly for a different module in modular construction.

  • 특정 인터넷 서비스는 그 성격에 따라 제한된 위치에서만 서비스를 제공하도록 설계한다. 이러한 시스템 구조에서 사용자의 위치정보는 서비스 접근을 통제하는 과정에서 핵심적으로 사용되며 LSB(Location Based Service), WPS(Wifi Positioning System)와 같은 기술로 제안되었다. 그러나 기존 인증 기법은 대상이 일정하지 않은 불특정 다수의 사용자가 접근하기에 적합하지 않고, 서비스 공급자의 무선 AP를 이용하기 때문에 과도한 서버 부하에 취약하다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해서 Beacon을 이용한 위치기반 인증 시스템을 제안한다. Beacon이란 Bluetooth 기술을 기반으로 근거리 무선 통신 기기이다. 사용자가 서비스 접근 권한을 획득하기 위해 인증 서버에서 요구하는 인증 코드는 BLE(Bluetooth Low Energy)를 사용하는 Beacon이 브로드캐스팅한다. 즉, 사용자는 Beacon이 BLE로 브로드캐스팅한 데이터를 수신할 수 있는 물리적인 범위까지 접근해야 인증 절차를 수행할 수 있다.

  • 최근 스마트폰을 활용한 다양한 서비스가 지속적으로 연구되면서 나날이 발전하고 있다. 그중에서 BLE(Bluetooth Low Energy) 기반 Beacon을 이용하여 다양한 분야에서 스마트폰 앱을 통해 서비스 되고 있다. BLE 기반 Beacon을 이용한 다양한 분야 중에 실내 위치 기반 서비스에 대해 많은 연구가 진행되고 있는데 본 논문에서는 보안이 필요한 기관이나 업체의 출입통제를 위해 Beacon을 출입통제 시스템에 적용하고자한다. Beacon을 이용한 출입통제 시스템은 사용자의 스마트폰을 Beacon으로 위치 측위하여 사용자가 출입문에 왔을 때 OTP인증을 통하여 사용자는 출입여부에 대한 권한을 부여 받아 사용 할 수 있도록 제안하였다.
