  • The initial urban railway was only required to perform its role as means of transportation. As the time of staying in an underground platform was extended, it has been faced with the issues of environmental improvement as a living space. Therefore, the sliding automatic door, which is the basis of the screen door, is used widely for large distribution stores, hospitals, restaurants, and public offices for customers' convenience and as a convenient method to control access. Therefore, screen doors are required for the purpose of customers' convenience, securing safety, establishing pleasant station buildings, and energy savings. It would be also necessary to develop the optimal design technology for a screen door system through the design of element parts and to ensure reliability. Therefore, this paper calculated, interpreted, and verified the theoretical weight of the composition parts to verify the design drive hardness of the motor for screen doors necessary for the safety of subways.

Boost Converter Embedded Battery Charging Function for Application of E-bike (전기자전거 응용을 위한 배터리 충전 기능 내장형 부스트 컨버터)

  • In the conventional E-bike, a 42 V/10 A Li-ion battery drives a 24 V/10 A BLDC motor via a 6-switch PWM DC/AC inverter. The major problems of the conventional battery-fed motor drive systems are listed as follows. To charge the battery, an external battery charger (adapter) is required, which degrades the portability of E-bike users. In addition, given the high-frequency operation of the motor drive inverter, the switching losses are significant, which degrades the whole power efficiency. High-voltage batteries (42 V) require a complex battery management system (BMS), which degrades the reliability of the battery pack. In this paper, an embedded boost-converter battery charger for E-bikes is proposed. The variable output boost converter, which converts 16.8 V battery voltage to the required variable voltage of the inverter input, can use a low-voltage battery and thus improve the reliability of batteries. By varying the inverter input voltage via boost converter, a DC link voltage control method can be applied to reduce the switching frequency of the inverter, which improves the whole power efficiency. Given that the function of a flyback charger is integrated in the proposed boost converter, the portability of the E-bike user can be maximized by excluding an external adapter. The validity of the proposed circuit will be confirmed by operation mode analysis and simulation. Moreover, experimental results of integrative charger using Li-ion battery and 200 W motor test will be showed with a prototype sample as well.

Improvement of Low Speed Stability of CMG Gimbal Using Full-pitch Distributed Winding (전절권 분포형 권선을 통한 제어모멘트자이로 김블의 저속 안정성 개선 연구)

  • The electromagnetic forces generate a torque on the gimbal motor, and changes in the coil current causes torque ripple. This affects the gimbals' speed and results to unstable satellite attitude. It is therefore essential to reduce the torque ripple of the gimble motor with the aim of improving the attitude control accuracy of the satellite. This paper theoretically analyzes the torque generated from the modeling of a motor for general concentrated winding and distributed winding. The prototype was designed and fabricated through selection of the winding that reduces the torque ripple through simulation results. The results of the magnetic fields' theoretical analysis and the back electromotive force of the prototype were compared with the calibrated results for verification of conformity and manufacture of the design. The low-speed test proved that the torque ripple is reduced by improving the speed stability.

  • Through the design and production of works for the third semester as a major unit, It is proposed the process of satisfying the graduation standards with the design and production process of the drone which can be applied to various mobile environments. Using the shape of Ring Propeller, it is made to be able to play both the role of generating lift as a propeller and the role of a wheel that touches the ground through the surface of the rim. In addition, the Servo Motor is used to convert the drive shaft of the motor to the correct angle according to the command. Then, based on the idea, the 3D printing is implemented to confirm the result of the configuration, and the circuit for driving the propulsion is designed and manufactured. As a result, the conversion of the desired propulsion system during air navigation and operation failed due to the weight increase of the propellant. It is confirmed that the size of the thrust and the tolerance limit of the ring propeller are the errors. Through these processes, it has been recognized to have experience of creative thinking and cooperation through engineering approach and comprehensive design, and confirmed to satisfy the graduation criteria by writing an engineering paper on the result.

  • Due to un-balancing weight allocation on the wheelchair the existing wheelchair system are faced with the risk of flipping or falling when a wheelchair goes up to a hill. In to order to be safer during riding the wheelchair, in this paper, we proposed a real-time new solution using the integrated Gyro Sensor and Tilt Sensor for controlling the balance. Because the typical property of wheelchair is for the special user who meets the difficulty in moving on foot the maintain the balance of wheel-chair systems have become important and helpful. In our method, we calculate the seat angle using information from Tilt Sensor. However, due to the law of inertia when a wheelchair is moving there is a deviation in the output value of Tilt Sensor. Therefore, we have to optimize the value of the angle by utilizing the acceleration that is the output of the Gyro Sensor. We took the advantages by using the combination of Gyro and Tilt sensors. Moreover, we also solved the consumption issue of the whole system. Through various experimentations with usage of ZigBee sensor module, the power consumption for the balancing system is reduced significantly.
