Plug-in BLDC Control System using DC-link Communication (DC 전력선 통신을 이용한 Plug-in형 BLDC 구동 시스템)

  • The powers used in the motor drive system are mostly DC sources like batteries. Even AC powers in some systems are generated from DC sources by the inverter. It is can be forecasted that the DC-link communications will be widely used in various industrial fields. In this paper a novel BLDC motor drive system using DC-link communications is proposed. The characteristic of this system Is that the communication only needs 2 DC lines. There are not additional lines to translate the reference signals. And the reliability o3 the system is ensured especially under some terrible circumstances. The number of lines can be minimized when the DC-link communication method is applied in the multi motor control system and the slip ring design also can be simplified when this method is applied in rotation machines. The proposed motor system is clarified by the PSIM and MATLAB simulations and tested through the hardware prototype.

  • Power line communication or power line carrier (PLC) is a system for carrying data on a conductor and can also used for electric power transmission. Now the powers used in the motor drive system are mostly DC sources. Even AC powers in some systems are generated from DC sources by the inverter. It is can be forecasted that the DC-link PLC technology will be widely used in various industrial fields. In this paper a novel BLDC motor control system using ASK DC-link PLC technology is proposed. The characteristic of this system is that the communication only needs 2 DC lines and there are no additional lines to translate the reference signals. The number of signal cables can be minimized when the DC-link PLC method is applied in the multi motor control system and the slip ring design also can be simplified when this method is applied in rotation machines. The proposed motor control system is clarified by the PSIM and MATLAB simulations and tested through the hardware prototype.

  • For revolving and elevating a turret of a tank, we substitute an existing oil pressure system with an electric system using a motor and applied the vector control method to this system. A switching method of an inverter for providing desired sinusoidal current to each phase of a motor, we adopted min-max pulse width modulation method which takes less computation time, rather than space vector pulse width modulation method. We designed a digital filter and applied it to the control system. Developed current controller is verified it's performance through a current control test, speed control test, frequency response and tracking a profile of speed test.

  • In order to increase reliability and reduce system cost, this paper studies particularly applicable method for sensorless PM BLDCM drive system. The waveform of the motor internal voltages(or back emf) contains a fundamental and higher order frequency harmonics. Therefore the third harmonic component is extracted from the stator phase voltage. The resulting third harmonic signal keeps a constant phase relationship with the rotor flux for any motor speed and load condition, and is practically free of noise that can be introduced by the inverter switching, making this a robust sensing method. In addition, a simple starting method and a speed estimation approach are also proposed. Some experimental results are Provided to demonstrate the validity of the proposed control method.

  • 최근 산업기기의 대형화로 인하여 전기기기 및 전력기기의 고효율 대용량 설계에 대한 관심이 커지고 있다. 그 동안에는 대용량 전동기로 주로 유도전동기와 릴럭턴스 전동기가 사용되어 왔다. 그러나 유도전동기는 저속에서의 효율이 낮으며 회전자의 열손실이 효율과 역률을 저하시키는 단점이 있고, 릴럭턴스 전동기는 구조 및 동작원리 상 큰 맥동토크로 인하여 소음과 진동이 매우 크다. 이에 효율과 역률이 좋고 고속운전이 가능한 영구자석형 전동기에 대한 연구가 많이 진행되었고 최근에는 영구자석 재질(희토류계)의 발달함로 인하여 고속 대용량 자석계자형 BLDC와 영구자석형 동기전동기의 설계가 가능해져 대형기에 많이 이용되고 있다. 그러나 대용량 전기기기의 경우 그 크기와 부피가 매우 크고 대전류 대전압의 전원을 공급하여야 하기 때문에 인버터부를 병렬 연결하여야 하므로 제어부를 포함한 전동기의 설치 공간이 증가해 지는 단점이 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 인버터를 전동기의 회전자 내부에 배치한 인버터 내부형 5[MW]급 BLDC 전동기를 설계하고자 하였다.

  • This paper deals with the torque characteristic of AFPM Brushless DC motor, which is driven by 3 phase inverter and with the effect of phase of input voltage to the output by varying the input voltage to the induced voltage in stator of motor. To accomplish this, a prototype AFPM Brushless DC Motor was produced and phase variation was detected by a set of photo interrupter. In this realized system. method to maximize the output torque depend on the speed of motor is presented.

  • Brushless DC Motor(PM BLDCM) is widely used in industrial applications due to its high efficiency and power density. In order to increase reliability and reduce system cost, this paper studies particularly applicable method for sensorless PM BLDCM drive system.   • This paper presents a novel method to detect the rotor position of the BrushLess DC(BLDC) motor at standstill and a start-up method to accelerate the rotor up to a certain speed where the conventional position sensorless control methods based on the back EMF could work reasonably The proposed initial rotor position estimation method is suitable to avoid the temporary reverse rotation or the starting failure. This method can be implemented using only one current sensor at DC link of the inverter. It does not depend on the model of the motor , and it is robust to motor parameter variations. By the proposed method, it is demonstrated experimentally that a stable starting can be achieved even with severe mechanical disturbance.
