원발성 월경곤란 치료를 위한 경혈 및 경혈 조합의 네트워크 분석 (The network analysis of acupoints for primary dysmenorrhea)

  • 원발성 월경곤란은 내장 통증을 일으키는 대표적인 질환으로, 오랫동안 침 치료가 효과적인 질환으로 알려져왔다. 이번 연구는 기존의 체계적 문헌고찰에 보고된 경혈을 이용하여 네트워크 분석을 수행하였고, 이를 통해 원발성 월경곤란을 치료하기 위해 이용되는 경혈과 경혈의 조합을 분석하였다. 총 60편 중 이침을 이용한 논문을 제외하고 의 논문을 분석 결과에 따르면 신수, 위중, 대장수, 곤륜, 환도, 아시혈, 관원수, 양릉천, 기해수, 요양관이었으며, 태계혈이 함께 조합되어 사용되었다. 이를 통해 요통에 대한 침 치료 효과를 밝히기 위한 이전의 연구들에서 족태양방광경의 경혈들이 주로 사용된 것, 그리고 근위와 원위의 경혈이 사용된 것을 알 수 있다. 추후 연구를 통해 경혈과 치료 효과 간의 상관 관계를 밝히고 경혈을 선정하고 조합하는 원리에 대한 가이드라인을 제시하기 위해서는 치료 효과에 대한 정량적인 분석 방법과 이용한 경혈에 대한 자세한 보고가 필수적이다.

A murine periodontitis model using coaggregation between human pathogens and a predominant mouse oral commensal bacterium

  • Purpose: C57BL/6 mice, which are among the most common backgrounds for genetically engineered mice, are resistant to the induction of periodontitis by oral infection with periodontal pathogens. This study aimed to develop a periodontitis model in C57BL/6 mice using coaggregation between human pathogens and the mouse oral commensal Streptococcus danieliae (Sd). Methods: The abilities of Porphyromonas gingivalis ATCC 33277 (Pg33277), P. gingivalis ATCC 49417 (Pg49417), P. gingivalis KUMC-P4 (PgP4), Fusobacterium nucleatum subsp. nucleatum ATCC 25586 (Fnn), and F. nucleatum subsp. animalis KCOM 1280 (Fna) to coaggregate with Sd were tested by a sedimentation assay. The Sd-noncoaggregating Pg33277 and 2 Sd-coaggregating strains, PgP4 and Fna, were chosen for animal experiments. Eighty C57BL/6 mice received oral gavage with Sd once and subsequently received vehicle alone (sham), Fna, Pg33277, PgP4, or Fna+PgP4 6 times at 2-day intervals. Mice were evaluated at 5 or 8 weeks after the first gavage of human strains. Results: Fnn, Fna, and PgP4 efficiently coaggregated with Sd, but Pg33277 and Pg49417 did not. Alveolar bone loss was significantly higher in the PgP4 group at both time points (weeks 5 and 8) and in all experimental groups at week 8 compared with the sham group. The PgP4 group presented greater alveolar bone loss than the other experimental groups at both time points. A higher degree of alveolar bone loss accompanied higher bacterial loads in the oral cavity, the invasion of not only PgP4 but also Sd and Fna, and the serum antibody responses to these bacteria. Conclusions: Periodontitis was successfully induced in C57BL/6 mice by oral infection with a P. gingivalis strain that persists in the oral cavity through coaggregation with a mouse oral commensal bacterium. This new model will be useful for studying the role of human oral bacteria-host interactions in periodontitis using genetically engineered mice.

Novel Cationic Microbial Polyglucosamine Biopolymer from New Enterobacter sp. BL-2 and Its Bioflocculation Efficacy

  • A new bacterium BL-2 excreting a novel cationic polyglucosamine biopolymer was isolated from the spoiled leaves of Chinese cabbage and identified as Enterobacter sp. BL-2. The isolated Enterobacter sp. BL-2 was cultivated in pH-stat fed-batch culture using acetic acid as the feeding stock at pH 8.0, resulting in 17.11 g/l of cells and 1.53 g/l of an extracellular biopolymer after 72 h. The excreted biopolymer was purified by a three-step procedure, involving ethanol precipitation and deproteinizations, to a nearly homogeneous state, and its molecular weight was found to be 106 kDa. It was composed of glucosamine, rhamnose, and galactose at a molar ratio of 86.4:1.6:1.0, respectively, indicating a rarely found novel high-glucosamine-containing biopolymer. The FT-IR and $^{13}C-NMR$ spectra of the novel cationic polyglucosamine biopolymer PGB-l revealed a close identity with chitosan from crab shell. It can effectively flocculate various suspended solids, including kaolin clay, $Ca(OH)_2,\;Al_{2}O_3$, active carbon, microbial cells, and acidic dyes.

대하(帶下)의 침치료(鍼治療)와 구치료(灸治療)에 대한 문헌적(文獻的) 고찰(考察) (A Philological Study of Acupunture and Moixbustion for leukorrhea)

  • Objectives & Methods : This study was designed to investigate acupunture and moibustion for leukorrhea through literature research. We extracted the parts and acupuncture and moxibustion forleukorrhea from ancient and modern oriental medical literature. Results & Conclusions : The acupoint used on acupunture only were 66 acupoints. The acupoints used often were SP6, GB26, LR2, CV6, SP9, BL30, BL32 in order and the meridians used often were BL, SP, CV, LR, KI, ST in order. The acupoint used on moxibustion only were 35 acupoints. The acupoints used often were CV3, BL30, GV4, CV8, SP6 in order and the meridians used often were CV, BL, SP, KI, LR in order. In case of comparative investigation about acupuncture & moxa point being found in the literature of the past and the modern age, in the past literature, acupoints curing a disease of internal genitals in women were selected. But on the other hand, in the modern literature, acupuncture points were selected by differentiation of symptoms and signs.

Methamphetamine이 B16 악성 흑색종 세포 전이에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Methamphetamine on the Pulmonary Metastasis of B16 Melanoma Cells)

  • The effect of methamphetamine on the pulmonary metastasis was investigated in C57BL/6 mice injected with Bl6 melanoma cells. Bl6 melanoma cells (2$\times$10$^{5}$ cells) were injected intravenously into 5~7 weeks old C57BL/6 mice. Mice were then treated intraperitoneally with methamphetamine either acutely (two times with one week interval) or subchronically (daily for 14 days). Degree of pulmonary metastasis was investigated and specific immunologic parameters such as natural killer cell cytotoxicity(NKCC), antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity(ADCC) and blastogenic responses of splenocytes were examined. Mice which had been subchronically treated with methamphetamine showed significant decreases in the number of pulmonary metastasis of Bl6 melanoma cells, NKCC and ADCC without a significant change in blastogenic responses. In the acutely-treated group, slight trends of decrease in the numbers of pulmonary metastasis, NKCC and ADCC were observed without statistical significances whereas there was a significant increase in blastogenic responses. The mechanism underlying the decrease in the degree of metastasis despite diminished NKCC and ADCC after methamphetamine treatment and the relationship between the degree of pulmonary metastasis and duration of methamphetamine treatment remain to be investigated.

Properties of Blocking Layer with Ag Nano Powder in a Dye Sensitized Solar Cell

  • We prepared a working electrode (WE) with a blocking layer (BL) containing 0 ~ 0.5 wt% Ag nano powders to improve the energy conversion efficiency (ECE) of dye sensitized solar cell (DSSC). FESEM and micro-Raman were used to characterize the microstructure and phase. UV-VIS-NIR spectroscopy was employed to determine the adsorption of the WE with Ag nano powders. A solar simulator and a potentiostat were used to confirm the photovoltaic properties of the DSSC with Ag nano powders. From the results of the microstructural analysis, we confirmed that Ag nano powders with particle size of less than 150 nm were dispersed uniformly on the BL. Based on the phase and adsorption analysis, we identified the existence of Ag and found that the adsorption increased when the amount of Ag increased. The photovoltaic results show that the ECE became 4.80% with 0.3 wt%-Ag addition compared to 4.31% without Ag addition. This improvement was due to the increase of the localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) of the BL resulting from the addition of Ag. Our results imply that we might be able to improve the efficiency of a DSSC by proper addition of Ag nano powder to the BL.

오요탕(五搖蕩) 약침(藥鍼)이 알레르기 천식(喘息) 흰쥐의 말초혈관내(末梢血管內) T-cell과 혈청(血淸) IgE에 미치는 영향(影響) (Effects of Oyo-Tang Herbal Acupuncture on Immune Cells In peripheral blood and Serum IgE of Allergic Asthma in the Rats)

  • Purpose : It has been reported that Oyo-Tang has an effect on allergic asthma clinically. In order to investigate the herbal acupuncture solution of the Oyo-Tang on allergic asthma, the Oyo-Tang herbal-acupuncture(OTHA) was applied on BL13 and ST36 of allergic asthma model of the rats. Methods : Then the concentration of serum IgE and the ratio of CD4+ and CD8+ T-cells in peripheral blood were measured and compared with control group. Results : The results obtained as follows; 1. The concentration of serum IgE was decreased significantly in both of the OTHA on BL13 group and on ST36 group as compared to control group. 2. The ratio of CD4+ and CD8+ T-cells in peripheral blood was not different statistically between the normal, the control, the OTHA on BL13 and the OTHA on ST36 group.

이론모델을 이용한 멸치의 음향산란강도의 검토 및 적용 (Verification and application of Target Strength for Japanese anchovy (Engraulis japonicas) by theoretical acoustic scattering model)

  • Acoustical backscattering characteristics of Japanese anchovy can be estimated by Kirchhoffray mode model (KRM model) due to estimate exact body and swim-bladder shape of the fish, the samples were rapidly frozen by dry-ice and alcohol. X-ray photos for ventral and lateral direction for 6 samples were taken and the 3D coordinates of the body swim-bladder were estimated by digitizing from the photos. The angles between the axis of body and swim-bladder were about $9^{\circ}$ at 38kHz and $7^{\circ}$ at 120kHz, 200kHz. General formula of TS and BL estimated were < $TS_{38kHz}$ >=20logBL-67.3, < $TS_{120kHz}$ >=20logBL-66.6, < $TS_{200kHz}$ >=20logBL-67.0. As a result, we confirmed KRM model is very useful to estimate TS (Target Strength) for design of experiment and it also can be applied to estimate the abundance of Japanese anchovy distributed by 2 frequency difference method in the survey area.

간유(肝兪).중완(中脘)의 대계(大?) 약침(藥鍼)이 급성 산화적 간손상에 미치는 효과 (Effects of Circii Herba Aqua-Acupuncture (BL18, CV12) on Acute Oxidative Liver Injury)

  • Objectives : Circii Herba has been used as a natural drug for the treatment of stress digestive system disease. The aim of this study is to investigate the role of Circii Herba aqua-acupuncture solution (CHAS) in experimental oxidative liver injury. Methods : In order to investigate the effects of CHAS on acute liver injury, male ICR mice were pretreated with CHAS(0.2 ml/mouse/day) at the loci of BL18 and CV12 for 6days, starved for 24hrs, and administerated acetaminophen(500 mg/kg, i.p.). After acetaminophen administeration, mice were sacrificed, and the liver was removed, rinsed with ice-cold $1.15{\%}$ KCI buffer, and homogenized at $4^{\circ}C$. Fractions(fraction Ⅰ, Ⅱ, Ⅲ) were isolated by differential centrifugation. Lipidperoxide, total SH, and glutathione(GSH) levels were measured in the Fraction Ⅰ. In addition, activities of hepatic enzyme, such as catalase, glutathione peroxidase(GSH-Px) were measured in the Fraction Ⅱ, and glutathione S-transferase(GST) was measured in the Fraction Ⅲ. Results : In vivo treatment of CHAS(BL18 and CV12) showed effective inhibition of acetaminophen induced lipid peroxidation, and showed elevations of total SH, GSH level, catalase, GSH-Px, GST activities. Conclusions : These results suggested that CHAS might suppress the formation of oxidative metabolites, and prevent acetaminophen induced hepatotoxicity.

충주호에서의 쏘가리와 메기의 이동범위 및 행동 (Movement range and behavior of mandarin fish (Siniperca scherzeri) and catfish (Parasilurus asotus) in Chungju Lake)

  • This study was conducted to collect the information on the behavioral characteristics and the habitat environment of mandarin fish (Siniperca schezeri) and catfish (Parasilurus asitus) with acoustic telemetry method in Chungju Lake, Korea. Mandarin fish tended to stay within 1km from the release points in downstream, and had a strong diurnal behavior. They approached to the lakefront at night. They also preferred to stay at deep water off the lakefront. The average swimming speed was faster at night (0.4BL/s) than during a day (0.2BL/s). They swam the shallow water area at night. Catfish frequently moved between upstream and downstream. Catfish tended to act during a day. The average swimming speed was faster during a day (0.3BL/s) than at night (0.2 BL/s). The average swimming depth was 14.3m, and they tended to float about 4m during a day.
