중복된 멀티캐리어 DS-CDMA 시스템의 서브밴드 중복율 변화에 따른 성능개선에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Performance Improvement with Subband Overlapping Variation for Overlapped Multicarrier DS-CDMA Systems)

  • 멀티캐리어 DS-CDMA는 다중경로 페이딩 채널에서 광대역 시스템의 구현에 효과적인 방법이다. 본 논문에서는 콘볼루션 코딩을 적용한 중복된 멀티캐리어 DS-CDMA 시스템을 제안하고, 중복율 변화에 대한 성능을 분석하여 정해진 서브밴드 캐리어 수에 따라 최적의 성능을 제공하는 중복율을 제시한다. 특히 전체 서브캐리어 수에 따라 최적의 성능을 제공하는 중복율을 제시한다. 특히 전체 서브캐리어 수 M*R 값이 같다면 콘볼루션 코딩율 1/M과 반복 코딩율 1/R 값에 관계없이 칩 성형필터의 rolloff인자 β값이 같으면 중복율 변화에 따른 BET의 변화 형태가 거의 동일함을 보인다. 그리고 서브밴드의 중복인자 (0<β≤2) 변화와 rolloff인자(0<β≤1)의 변화에 따른 MUI를 분석하여 기존의 멀티태리어 시스템과 성능을 비교하고, 제안한 시스템의 중복율 변화에 따른 성능 개서 정도를 보인다.

Association of a Newly Identified Variant of DNA Polymerase Beta (polβΔ63-123, 208-304) with the Risk Factor of Ovarian Carcinoma in India

  • Background: DNA polymerase is a single-copy gene that is considered to be part of the DNA repair machinery in mammalian cells. The encoded enzyme is a key to the base excision repair (BER) pathway. It is evident that pol beta has mutations in various cancer samples, but little is known about ovarian cancer. Aim: Identification of any variant form of $pol{\beta}$ cDNA in ovarian carcinoma and determination of association between the polymorphism and ovarian cancer risk in Indian patients. We used 152 samples to isolate and perform RT-PCR and sequencing. Results: A variant of polymerase beta (deletion of exon 4-6 and 11-13, comprising of amino acid 63-123, and 208-304) is detected in heterozygous condition. The product size of this variant is 532 bp while wild type pol beta is 1 kb. Our study of association between the variant and the endometrioid type shows that it is a statistically significant factor for ovarian cancer [OR=31.9 (4.12-246.25) with p<0.001]. The association between variant and stage IV patients further indicated risk (${\chi}^2$ value of 29.7, and OR value 6.77 with 95% CI values 3.3-13.86). The correlation study also confirms the association data (Pearson correlation values for variant/stage IV and variant/endometrioid of 0.44 and 0.39). Conclusion: Individuals from this part of India with this type of variant may be at risk of stage IV, endometrioid type ovarian carcinoma.

테라헤르츠 대역 주파수에서 근거리 무선 통신 응용을 위한 채널 모델 및 무선 링크 성능 분석 (Channel Model and Wireless Link Performance Analysis for Short-Range Wireless Communication Applications in the Terahertz Frequency)

  • 본 논문에서는 현재 주목을 받고 있는 테라헤르츠 대역의 주파수에서 근거리 무선 통신 응용을 위한 채널 모델과 무선 링크의 성능 분석에 대하여 서술한다. 10 Gbps 이상의 전송 속도를 실현하기 위해서는 주파수 대역폭이 기존의 밀리미터파에서 사용하는 주파수 대역폭보다 더 넓은 대역폭이 필요하며, 이 대역폭을 얻기 위해서는 테라헤르츠 주파수 대역으로 자연적으로 옮겨가지 않을 수 없다. ITU-R P.676-7 모델을 이용하여 테라헤르츠 대역의 대기 전파 감쇠 특성 분석 결과, 중심 주파수 220, 300, 350 GHz에서 약 68, 48, 45 GHz의 주파수 대역폭이 가용하며, 스펙트럼 효율이 1 이하인 변조 방식으로도 10 Gbps 이상의 데이터 속도를 얻을 수 있음을 시뮬레이션을 통하여 확인하였다. 간략화 PDP 모델을 이용하여 실내 공간의 건물 재질에 따른 지연 특성을 분석하였다. 실내 공간의 크기 $6\;m(L){\times}5\;m(W){\times}2.5\;m(H)$에서 콘크리트 벽의 경우 TE 편파에서 RMS 지연 확산은 9.23 ns였다. 이 결과는 참고문헌의 Ray-Tracing 시뮬레이션에서 얻은 10 ns 이내에 근접한다. 옥내 무선 링크 성능 분석 결과, 수신기의 감도는 BPSK 변조 방식을 사용하는 경우 대역폭 $5{\sim}50\;GHz$에 대하여 $-56{\sim}-46\;dBm$이고, 안테나 이득은 10 m 링크에서 $26.6{\sim}31.6\;dBi$였다. AWGN 채널과 LOS 환경을 가정할 때 송신기 출력 -15dBm에서 캐리어 주파수 220, 300, 350 GHz일 때 최대 달성 가능한 데이터 속도는 각각 30, 16, 12 Gbps였다. 이 결과는 BPSK 변조 방식을 사용하여 1 m 링크에서 얻은 결과이다. BER은 $10^{-12}$으로 가정하였고, 송신기 출력을 증가시키면 더욱 높은 데이터 속도를 얻을 수 있다.

Association of Poly (ADP-Ribose) Polymerase 1 Variants with Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma Susceptibility in a South Indian Population

  • Background: Oral cancers account for approximately 2% of all cancers diagnosed each year; however, the vast majority (80%) of the affected individuals are smokers whose risk of developing a lesion is five to nine times greater than that of non-smokers. Tobacco smoke contains numerous carcinogens that cause DNA damage, including oxidative lesions that are removed effectively by the base-excision repair (BER) pathway, in which poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase 1 (PARP-1), plays key roles. Genetic variations in the genes encoding DNA repair enzymes may alter their functions. Several studies reported mixed effects on the association between PARP-1 variants and the risk of cancer development. Till now no reported studies have investigated the association between PARP-1 variants and oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) risk in an Indian population. Materials and Methods: In the present case control study 100 OSCC patients and 100 matched controls were genotyped using PARP1 single nucleotide peptides (SNP's) rs1136410 and rs3219090 using TaqMan assays. Results: The results indicated significantly higher risk with PARP1 rs1136410 minor allele "C" (OR=1.909; p=0.02942; CI, 1.060-3.439). SNP rs1136410 also showed significantly increased risk in patients with smoking habit at C/C genotype and at minor allele C. Conclusions: The PAPR-1 Ala762Val polymorphism may play a role in progression of OSCC. Larger studies with a greater number of samples are needed to verify these findings.

  • 헤르만 F. 퓌클러-무스카우는 1834년 '풍경식 정원의 예시'라는 정원이론서를 출간하고, 무스카우와 브라니츠 정원을 조성한 독일 정원사의 중요한 인물이다. 그는 무스카우 공국의 통치자였으며 작가이자 정원사로서 다면적 활동을 하였다. 그가 영향력을 끼친 독일의 풍경식 정원은 이성으로부터의 해방, 인간 본연의 자유를 추구하는 낭만주의에 기반하고 있다. 당시 지식인들이 풍경식 정원에 관심을 가지게 것은 이상화된 자연을 표상하는 정원의 문화적 의미에서였다. 본 연구에서는 퓌클러-무스카우의 풍경식 정원관의 형성과정을 생애와의 관계 속에서 고찰하고, 이를 통하여 도출된 퓌클러의 풍경식 정원론의 내용과 고유한 설계방식을 살펴본다. 이와 함께 함축하고 있는 혁신성과 현대적 관점에서의 실천적 함의를 고찰한다. 퓌클러가 풍경식 정원에 관심을 갖고 자신만의 정원론을 구축하게 된 것은 여러 나라의 경관과 정원 기행에서 비롯하였다. 계몽적 낭만주의로 대표되는 퓌클러가 살았던 시기의 시대적 배경과 그의 개인적 경험 간의 상호관계는 그의 정원론을 이해하는 기반이 된다. 첫째, 그의 풍경식 정원론은 실제와 이상이 혼재되어 있는데 이는 낭만주의와 문학적 정원의 영향이라고 볼 수 있다. 둘째, 정원 구현 방식에 있어서는 18세기 후반의 표현을 중시하는 영국 풍경식 정원의 영향을 받고 있다. 셋째, 퓌클러의 정원 설계에서는 그의 내면적 성향과 개인 경험이 드러난다. 넷째, 퓌클러가 지역 주민을 위한 정원을 조성하고자한 것은 진보적 사상을 지닌 귀족으로서 모순적 성격의 자기표현이라고 할 수 있다. 퓌클러 풍경식 정원론의 가치는 인문학적 정원의 전통과 사회 조건의 개선을 추구하는 실용적 태도와 깊이 관련된다. 이러한 결과로 나타난 그의 풍경식 정원론은 이상적 공동체와 윤리적인 건강성을 지향하는 경관론이면서, 지역의 생태적, 경제적, 사회적 지속가능성을 고려한 전략을 담고 있다. 또한 개인적 영역에서 공공의 영역에 이르기까지 정원의 개념과 의미를 확장하고, 실용과 미를 동시에 추구하는 종합예술을 지향한다. 이러한 통합적 관점은 오늘날 현대 조경이론과 실천에서 회복되어야 할 가치이며 지향점이기도 하다.

Para-Vinylpyridine-vinylsulfonic Acid 수지(樹脂)의 합성(合成)과 이온 교환능(交換能) (Synthesis and Ion Exchange Capacity of 4-Vinylpyridine-vinylsulfonic Acid Resin)

  • 고분자 킬래이트의 합성방법을 이용하여 4-vinylpyridine-vinylsulfonic acid-divinylbenzene 이온 교환체를 합성하여 이온 교환 특성실험을 한 결과는 다음과 같다. (1) 4-vinylpyridine-vinylacetate-divinylbenzene (1)의 합성은 4-vinylpyridine과 vinylacetate의 몰비가 2 : 1 이고 $95{\sim}98^{\circ}C$에서 50분간 가열하였을 경우가 가장 좋은 합성 조건이었으며 4-vinylpyridine-vinylsulfonic acid-divinylbenzene (2) 강산성 이온 교환수지의 양이온과 음이온교환 용량은 4.8meq/g와 2.5meq/g로 양쪽성 이었으며 Dowex 50W-X8과 비슷한 값을 얻었다. (2) pH가 증가할수록 Cd(II), Cu(II) 그리고 Co(II) 금속 이온의 흡착능이 증가하며 흡착력은 금속 양이온의 크기와 전하의 크기가 클수록 Cd(II)>Cu(II)>Co(II)의 순서로 보다 좋은 흡착력을 나타내였다. (3) 알콜의 량이 크다하여도 alkyloxonium이온의 탈수로 인하여 용매의 극성이냐 유전 상수에 미치는 영향이 분자와 이온간의 회합성이 원활하도록 하기 때문에 알콜의 량보다는 알콜의 차수가 흡착에 다소 영향을 미치며 낮은 산 용액과 알콜의 알킬기 차수가 작을수록(t-BuOH

  • 본 논문에서는 시공간 블록 부호 송신 다이버시티 기법(STBC-TD)이 적용된 WCDMA 하향 링크에서 이동 평균(Moving Average) 필터 구조의 채널 추정기에 대해 성능 평가를 하였다. 또한 FIR(Finite Impulse Response) 필터 구조의 채널 추정기에서 발생하는 메모리 요구 문제와 채널 추정 지연 시간 문제를 해결하기 위해 IIR(Infinite Impulse Response) 필터 구조를 제시하고 이에 대한 성능 평가 및 비교를 하였다. 컴퓨터 모의 실험 결과 일반적으로 STBC-TD 기법이 적용된 경우 두 구조 모두 이동국의 속도가 저속일 때 상당한 성능 개선이 발생하였다. 이동평균 필터 구조의 채널 추정기는 STBC-TD 기법을 적용함으로써 성능 개선과 함께 필터의 최적 탭 수가 감소되고 이로 인해 채널 추정 지연 시간과 수신단의 복잡도를 줄일 수 있었다. 또한 IIR 필터 구조의 채널 추정기는 이동평균 필터 구조에 비해 메모리 요구 문제와 추정 지연 시간 문제가 작은 장점을 가지지만 IIR 필터 내부의 계수는 이동국의 속도 변화에 매우 민감하며 따라서 최적의 IIR 필터 계수 설정이 중요한 고려 사항이다.

정미기의 능률에 미치는 기계적 요인및 작동조건에 관한 연구 (Mechanical and Operational Factors Affecting the Efficiency of Rice Polishing Machines)

  • In analyzing the operational characteristics of a rice whitening machine, the internal radial pressure of the machine was measured using strain gage equipment. Changes in cylinder and feed screw configurations, screen type, cylinder speed and counter-pressure levels were examined to determine their impact on the quality and quantity of milled rice and the performance of the machine. The results are summarized as follows: 1. The internal radial pressure in the whitening chamber varied with the surface condition of the grain being processed. During the first or second pass through the machine, pressure was relatively low, reached a maximum after two to three passes with combinations I and II, three to six with combination III and then began to fall. 2. The pitch of the feed screw and the size of the feed gate opening which determine the rate of entry of grain into the whitening chamber, appeared to be the most important factor aff-::cting the degree of radial pressure, quality and quantity of milled rice and the efficiency of the machine. Using a feed screw with a wide pitch (4.8cm), radial pressure was relatively high and head rice recovery ratio \vere quite low. In this case capacity and machine effic?iency were much higher than obtained when using a feed screw with a narrow pitch (2.3cm). Very significant responses in radial pressure, head rice recovery rates and machine capacity were observed with changes in cylinder speed and counter-pressure levels when using the wide pitch feed screw. 3. The characteristics of the screen which surrounds the whitening chamber had an important effect on whitening efficiency. The existence of small protuberances on the original screen resulted in significant increases in both machine capacity and efficiency but without a significant decrease in head rice recovery or development of excessive radial pressure. Further work is required to determine the effects of screen surface conditions and the shape of the cylinderical steel roller on the rate of bran removal, machine efficiency and recovery rates. The size of the slotted perforations 0:1 the screen affects total milled rice recovery. The opening size on the original screen was fabricated to accommodate the round shape of Japonica rice varieties but was not suitable for the more slender Indica type. Milling Indica varieties with this screen resulted in a reduction in total milled rice recovery. 4. An increase in cylinder speed from 380 to 820 rpm produced a positive effect on head rice recovery for all machine combinations at every level of counter-pressure used in the tests. Head rice recovery was considerably lower at 380rpm using a wide screw pitch when compared to the results obtained at speeds from 600 to 820 r.p.m. The effects of cylinder speed On radial pressure, capacity and machine efficiency showed contrasting results, depending on the width of the feed screw pitch. With a narrow feed screw pitch (2.3cm), a direct proportional relationship was observed bet?ween cylinder speed and both radial pressure and machine efficiency. In contrast, using a 4.8 centimeter pitch feed roller produced a series of inverse relationships between the above variables. Based on the results of this study it is recommended when milling Indica type long grain rice varieties that the cylinder speed of the original machine be increased from 500-600 rmp up to a minimum of 800 rpm to obtain a greater abrasive effect between the grain and the screen. The pitch of the feed screw should be also reduced to decr?ease the level of internal radial pressure and to obtain higher machine efficiency and increased quality of milled rice with increased cylinder speeds. Further study on the interaction between cylinder speed and feed screw pitch is recommended. 5. An increase in the counter pressure level produced a negative effect On the head rice recovery with an increase in radial pressure, capacity, and machine efficiency over all combinations and at every level of cylinder speed. 6. Head rice recovery rates were conditioned primarily by the pressure inside the whitening chamber. According to the empirical cha racteristics curve developed in this study, the relationships of head rice recovery ($Y_h$) and machine capacity ($Y_c$/TEX>) to internal radial pressure ($X_p$) followed an inverse quadratic function and a linear function respectively: $$Y_h^\Delta=\frac{1}{{1.4383-0.2951X_p^\ast+0.1425X_p^{\ast\ast}}^2} , (R^2=0.98)$$$$Y_c^\Delta=-305.83+374.37X_p^{\ast\ast}, (R^2=0.88)$$The correlation between capacity and power consumption per unit of brown rice expressed in the following exponential function: $$Y_c^\Delta=1.63Y_c^{-0.7786^\{\ast\ast}, (R^2=0.94)$$These relationships indicate that when radial pressure increases above a certain range (1. 6 to 2.0 kg/$cm^2$ based On the results of the experiment) head ricerecovery decrea?ses in a quadratic relation with a inear increase in capacity but without any decrease in power consump tion per unit of brown rice. On the other hand, if radial pressure is below the range shown above, power consumption increases dramatically with a lin?ear decrease in capacity but without significant increases in head rice recovery. During the operation of a given whitening machine, the optimum radial pressure range or the correct capacity range should be selected by controlling the feed rate and/or counter-pressure keeping in mind the condition of the grain, particulary the hardness. It was observed that the total number of passes is related to radial pessure level, feed rate and counter-pressure level. The higher theradial pressure the fewer num?ber of pass required but with decreased head rice recovery. In particular, when using high feed rates, the total number of passes should be increased to more than three by reducing the counter-pressure level to avoid decreaseases in head rice recovery (less than 65 percent head rice recovery on the basis of brown rice) at every cylinder speed. 7. A rapid rise in grain temperature seemed to have a close relationship with the pressure generated inside the whitening chamber and, subsequently with head rice reco?very rates. The higher the rate of increase, the lower were the resulting head rice recoveries.

질소시용, 예초 및 재식밀도가 한국잔디(Zoysia Japonica Steud)의 생육에 미치는 영향 (Studies on the growth of Korea Lawn Grass (Zoysia japonica Steud.)in Reponse to Nitrogen Application, Clipping Treatment and Plant Density)

  • The increasing emphasis placed on the production of fine turf for lawns, golf courses, parks, and other recreational sites has led to many unsolved problems as to how such turf could be best established and mainteined. For this purpose, a series of experiments were conducted under con ditions of pot and field. The results obtained were as follows EXPERIMENT I. The effect of nitrogen fertilizer and clipping interval on Zoysia japonica. 1. Increasing the rate of nitrogen and frequent clipping increased tiller number of Zoysis japonica and the maximum number of tillers were obtained from 700 kg N application and freqnent clippings (10 days interval ) in October. Treatment of 350kg N with 10 days clipping interval increased tillers much more than those of 700 kgN with 20 and 30 days clipping intervals. 2. The average number of green leaves occurred during the growth period maximized by applying 700 kg N and clipping 10 days interval. 3. Increasing tiller numbers significantly decreased tops DM weight per tiller by clipping plants at interval of 10 and 20 days, irrespective of nitrogen applied, and with nil N, at the interval of 30 days. By applying 700 kg N, however, top DM weight per tiller increased as the number of tillers increased consistently. 4. The highest top DM weight was achieved from late August to early September by applying 350 and 700kgN. 5. During the growth period, differences in unders ( stolon + root ) DM weight occurred bynitrogen application were found between nil N and two applied nitrogen levels, whereas, at the same level of nitrogen applied, the increase in stolon DM weight enhanced by lengthening the clipping interval to 30 days. 6. Nitrogen efficiency to green leaves, stolon nodes and DM weight of root with high nitrogen was achieved as clipping interval was shortened. 7. By increasing fertilizer nitrogen rate applied, N content n the leaves and stems of Zoysiajaponica was increased. On the other hand, N content in root and stolon had little effect onfertilizer nitrogen, resulting in the lowest content among plant fractions. The largest content of N was recorded in leaves. Lengthening the clipping interval from 10 or 20 to 30 days tends to decrease the N content in the leaves and stems, whereas this trend did not appeared in stolon androot. 8. A positive correlations between N and K contents in tops and stolon were established andthus K content increased as N content in tops and stolon increased. Meanwhile, P content was not affected by N and clipping treatments. 9. Total soluble carbohydrate content in Zoysia japonica was largest in stolon and stem, and was reduced by increasing fertilizer nitrogen rate. Reduction in total soluble carbohydrate due to increased nitrogen rate was severer in the stolons and stems than in the leaves. 10. Increasing the rate of nitrogen applied increased the number of small and large vascular bundles in leaf blade, but shortened distance among the large vascular bundles. Shortening the clipping interval resulted in increase of the number of large vascular bundles but decrease ofdistance between large vascular bundles.EXPERIMENT II. Growth response of Zoysia japonica imposed by different plant densities. 1. Tiller numbers per unit area increased as plant density heightened. Differences in num ber between densities at higher densities than 120 D were of no significance. 2. Tiller numbers per clone attained by 110 days after transplanting were 126 at 40D,77 at 80D, 67 at 120D, 54 at 160D, and 41 at 200D. A decreasing trend of tiller numbers per clone with increasing density was noticable from 100 days after transplanting onwards. 3. During the growth period, the greatest number of green leaves per unit area were attainedin 90days after transplanting at 160D and 200D, and 100 days after transplanting at 40D, 80Dand 120D. Thus the period to reach the maximum green leaf number with the high plantdensity was likely to be earlier that with the low plant density. 4. Stolon growth up to 80 days after transplaning was relatively slow, but from 80 daysonwards, the growth quickened to range from 1.9 m/clone at 40D to 0.6m/clone at 200Din 200 days after transplanting, these followed by the stolon node produced. 5. Plant density did not affect stolon weight/clone and root weight/clone until 80 daysafter transplanting. 6. DM weight of root was heavier in the early period of growth than that of stolon, butthis trend was reversed in the late period of growth : DM weight of stolon was much higherthan that of root.EXPERIMENT Ill. Vegetative growth of Zoysia japonica and Zoysia matrella as affected by nitrogen and clipping height. 1. When no nitrogen was applied to Zoysia japonica, leaf blade which appeared during theAugust-early September period remained green for a perid of about 10 weeks and even leavesemerged in rate September lived for 42 days. However, leaf longevity did not exceed 8 weeks asnitrogen was applied. In contrast the leaf longevity of Zoysia matrella which emerged during the mid August-earlySeptember period was 11 weeks and, under the nitrogen applied, 9 weeks, indicating that thelife-spen of individual leaf of Zoysia matrella may be longer than that of Zoysia japorica. Clipping height had no effect on the leaf longevity in both grasses. 2. During the July-August period, tiller number, green leaf number and DM weightof Zoysia japonica were increased significantly with fertilizer nitrogen, but were not with twolevel of clipping height. This trend was reversed after late September ; no effect of nitrogen wasappeared. Instead, lax clipping increased tiller number, green leaf number and DM weight. Greenleaves stimulated by lax clipping resulted in the occurrance of more dead leaves in late October. 3. Among the stolons outgrown until early September, the primary stolon was not influencedby nitrogen and clipping treatments to produce only 2-3 stolons. However, 1st branch stoIon asaffected by nitrogen increased significantly, so most of stolons which occurred consisted of 1st branch stolons. 4. Until early September, stolon length obtained at nil nitrogen level was chiefly caused bythe primary stolons. By applying nitrogen, the primary stolons of Zoysia japonica waslonger than 1st branch stolons when severe clipping was involved and in turn, shorter than 1stbranch stolons when lax clipping was concerned. In Zoysia matrella, 1st branch stolons were muchlonger than the primary stolon when turf was clipped severely but in conditions of lax clippingthere was little difference in length between primary and 1st branch stolons. 5. Stolon nodes of both Zoysia japonica and Z. matrella were positively influenced by nit rogen, but no particular increase by imposing clipping height treatment was marked in Zoysiamatrella. Although the stolon of Zoysia japonica grew until late October, the growthstimulated by nitrogen was not so remarkable as to exceed that by nil N.
