  • 특정 인터넷 서비스는 그 성격에 따라 제한된 위치에서만 서비스를 제공하도록 설계한다. 이러한 시스템 구조에서 사용자의 위치정보는 서비스 접근을 통제하는 과정에서 핵심적으로 사용되며 LSB(Location Based Service), WPS(Wifi Positioning System)와 같은 기술로 제안되었다. 그러나 기존 인증 기법은 대상이 일정하지 않은 불특정 다수의 사용자가 접근하기에 적합하지 않고, 서비스 공급자의 무선 AP를 이용하기 때문에 과도한 서버 부하에 취약하다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해서 Beacon을 이용한 위치기반 인증 시스템을 제안한다. Beacon이란 Bluetooth 기술을 기반으로 근거리 무선 통신 기기이다. 사용자가 서비스 접근 권한을 획득하기 위해 인증 서버에서 요구하는 인증 코드는 BLE(Bluetooth Low Energy)를 사용하는 Beacon이 브로드캐스팅한다. 즉, 사용자는 Beacon이 BLE로 브로드캐스팅한 데이터를 수신할 수 있는 물리적인 범위까지 접근해야 인증 절차를 수행할 수 있다.

Development of New Radar Beacon

  • The restrictions concerning the use of the radio waves have become severe, the marine radar with low spurious is being developed. Therefore, it is necessary to develop aids to navigation as a radar beacon can respond to new type of marine radar. Because the system of radar in the future is an indetermination, new radar beacon should correspond to old and new radar system during a transition period. New radar beacon that is also able to respond to pulse radar, pulse compression radar and FM-CW radar were considered in these years in Japan. The sign of the response of Morse code in a new system is generated by the delay synthesis system. Computer simulation and actual examination using trial circuit were curried out. A big possibility was set up in the development of the new radar beacon that was able to correspond to old and new radar system. These results and the state of new radar beacon is mentioned in this paper.

An Analysis of Instrumentation Radar's Beacon Tracking Performance Considering a Target Attitude (표적의 자세 변화를 고려한 계측 레이더의 비콘 추적 성능 분석)

  • Instrumentation radar in a test range has an important role to measure target's TSPI(time, space, position, information). It is well known that it tracks a target stably using a beacon mode. But it may fail to track a target in a certain region using a beacon mode. In this paper, we modeled a simple missile shape similar to ATCMS with two beacon antenna and analyzed an antenna radiation pattern using MLFMM(Multi Level Fast Multipole Method) method. Using the analyzed result of the radiation pattern of the antenna and the attitude data of target, we simulated beacon tracking performance of an instrumentation radar. As a result of simulation, we showed that an instrumentation radar may lose the target because it tracks a area of the beacon antenna pattern.

  • 최근 스마트폰을 활용한 다양한 서비스가 지속적으로 연구되면서 나날이 발전하고 있다. 그중에서 BLE(Bluetooth Low Energy) 기반 Beacon을 이용하여 다양한 분야에서 스마트폰 앱을 통해 서비스 되고 있다. BLE 기반 Beacon을 이용한 다양한 분야 중에 실내 위치 기반 서비스에 대해 많은 연구가 진행되고 있는데 본 논문에서는 보안이 필요한 기관이나 업체의 출입통제를 위해 Beacon을 출입통제 시스템에 적용하고자한다. Beacon을 이용한 출입통제 시스템은 사용자의 스마트폰을 Beacon으로 위치 측위하여 사용자가 출입문에 왔을 때 OTP인증을 통하여 사용자는 출입여부에 대한 권한을 부여 받아 사용 할 수 있도록 제안하였다.

  • Recent with the progress of smart devices, there is an increasing demand for indoor location-based services. For this reason, research on indoor positioning system using a iBeacon techniques added to BLE(Bluetooth Low Energy) specifications of Bluetooth4.0 has been actively. However, RSSI signal used for the measurement of the distance between the iBeacon and the receiving terminal has the problems of inaccurate distance measurement to environmental factors such as obstacles. In this paper, we propose an implemented indoor positioning technique to use filtering technology enhance the reliability of the RSSI signal and the broadcasting signal of the terminal access point function.

  • There nay be collisions among beacons from several full function devices in IEEE 802.15.4 sensor networks. These collision of beacons may cause devices to lose time synchronization, and thus be unable to association. To solve this problem, the IEEE 802.15.4b defines a new Post Beacon Period(PBP), but it does not still alleviate the beacon collision problem. In this paper, we propose two automatic beacon alignment schemes that a node itself can decide its beacon start time using its short address that has been assigned during association. We also simulate and investigate our proposed automatic beacon collision avoidance schemes using NS-2 simulator.

  • Bongsu(Beacon Fire Station) is a facility that sends signals with fire and smoke and has been used in Korea since the Three Kingdoms period. This facility was installed to know the north and south crises. This trend continues until the Joseon Dynasty, and it has been somewhat completed in the 17th century. In previous studies, beacon fire was identified mainly from the border area to Hanyang. Based on this, it was classified into Gyeongbongsu, Yeonbyeonbongsu, and Naejibongsu. However, it is difficult to define the characteristics of beacon fire in coastal areas only with this classification. In the case of beacon fire in island areas, there was a tendency to value communication connection within the region rather than connection with the capital. As a case analysis for this, an academic review was conducted with the cases of Ganghwa Island and Jeju Island. As a result, it was confirmed that the role and character of the beacon vary depending on the defense system and the physical distance from the land, even if it has the topographical commonality of the same island.

  • The purpose of this study is suggest the guideline by analyzing and categorizing the case of trends of Beacon technological development and Beacon-Based service in culture and art space of domestic and overseas. I did some literature research followed with theoretical background of beacon service, also did case study of beacon service application in domestic and overseas culture space. The result indicate that beacon technology can provide a variety services in a wide space. Through domestic and overseas case studies, it was found that beacon service in domestic exhibition space should be given as experience-oriented services beyond benefit-oriented services. As this point of time, this study will become a good resource for various communication services through beacon service in Korea.

A Dual Security Technique based on Beacon (비콘 기반의 이중 보안 기법)

  • Many services have been developed that are based on smart devices, and security between devices is emphasized. A beacon on the current IoT(Internet of Things) services has been utilized in the commercial field and is being applied to the services of the home IoT. On the other hand, the beacon is weak to security using Bluetooth-based services. Therefore, it is important to strengthen the security of the beacon. This paper proposes a dual security technique that can enhance the security of beacon-based services. The dual security architecture and security process is proposed based on beacon and authentication service. In addition, mobile application was developed and validated based on the beacon for proving the suitability of the proposed technique. The experimental method for verification are the authentication failure case, such as 1st authentication fail, and authentication success case, such as 1st authentication success and 2nd authentication success. The components of the verification experiments consists of two beacons (matched with Beacon ID, mismatched with Beacon ID), one mobile device and authentication application. This was tested to verify the compatibility of the dual security architecture and 1st/2nd authentication process.

  • Beacon transmission is one of the fundamental mechanisms in vehicular ad hoc networks. Variety services including context awareness can be embodied by exchanging beacons in each vehicle. In this paper, we propose dual beacon transmission instead of traditional single beacon transmission for beaconing mechanism. dual beacon transmission divides beacon into two functions and operates two beaconing process independently. We verified the superiority of dual beacon transmission by comparing beacon packet delivery ratio with single beacon transmission. In conclusion, dual beacon transmission can reduce channel load and have both wider communication range and effective context awareness. In addition, implementing dual beacon transmission has less complexity and appliable with conventional adaptive beaconing schemes.
