  • This paper proposes a new scheme to obtain enhanced 3D shape information rapidly for WLPSI(White Light Phase Shifting Interferometry). WLPSI is a convenient method to measure the height of the micro products. First we propose an effective method of limiting search interval for detecting the peak of the visibility function in order to obtain 3D shpae information rapidly. Second we propose an automatic base level decision method basad on image processing and a correction algorithm using the least square approximation method to overcome the global tilt problem of the conventional WLPSI algorithms. Third we propose an adaptive filtering method to remove the distortion known as bat-wing effect which appears near the step discontinuity. Experimental results show that the proposed overall technique is fast and provides more enhanced 3D shape information compared with the conventional WLPSI algorithms.

  • SpeROD, the optical design program. is developed far specular reflectors of fluorescent luminaries. SpeROD can save much tirre when to design specular reflectors. SpeROD calculates conditions 2-dimensionally. The conditions for designing reflectors considered in this program are the intensity distribution, reflector type, and Tangent Spiral Design method. Using SpeROD, uniform intensity distribution type and bat-wing type reflectors are simulated in this paper, and alrrnn(T8) diarreter fluorescent lamp and lmnm width reflector are used for the setting. The sarre setting was simulated in FIElD, the intensity distribution prediction program. and the' result represented the intensity distribution and the efficacy simulated in SpeROD were satisfactory.actory.

  • We have analyzed the external morphology and the environment of the foraging site of Vespertilio sinensis. The external morphology was analyzed by twelve parameters and the environment characteristics of the foraging site was analyzed using GIS 10.1 program. The wing membrane was inserted into the ankle of the hind foot and the wing ratio was 1.42, the middle type between broad-short wing type and long-narrow wing type. The fur color was blackish brown but the guard hair color was whitish. The shape of the ear was a rounded triangle and tragus was a fan shape. This study showed that V. sinensis preferred the deciduous forest of the upper forest zone, where human interference was less. We believed that abundance of insects, depending on water system, was closely related to the use of the foraging site. This result showed that the environment characteristics was very similar to the nature preservation zone including Baekyang valley and Keumsun valley in Naejangsan National Park.

  • This study discusses a hypothetical method for tracking the propagation damage of Carbon Reinforced Fiber Plastic (CRFP) components underneath vibration fatigue. The High Cycle Fatigue (HCF) behavior of composite materials was generally not as severe as this of admixture alloys. Each fissure initiation in metal alloys may quickly lead to the opposite. The HCF behavior of composite materials is usually an extended state of continuous degradation between resin and fibers. The increase is that any layer-to-layer contact conditions during delamination opening will cause a dynamic complex response, which may be non-linear and dependent on temperature. Usually resulted from major deformations, it could be properly surveyed by a non-contact investigation system. Here, this article discusses the scanning laser application of that vibrometer to track the propagation damage of CRFP components underneath fatigue vibration loading. Thus, the study purpose is to demonstrate that the investigation method can implement systematically a series of hypothetical means and dynamic characteristics. The application of the relaxation method based on numerical simulation in the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Evolved Bat (EB) strategy to reduce the dynamic response is proved by numerical simulation. Thermal imaging cameras are also measurement parts of the chain and provide information in qualitative about the temperature location of the evolution and hot spots of damage.

  • In the present work, a new brick series based on the Vietnamese white clay minerals from the Bat Trang was fabricated to be applied in the radiation protection applications during the decommissioning of the nuclear power reactors. The bricks were constructed under various pressure rates varied from 7.61 MPa to 114.22 MPa. The influence of pressure rate on the physical and γ-ray shielding properties were investigated in the study. The experimental measurement for the material's density using the MH-300A density meter showed an enhancement in the prepared bricks' density by 22.5 % with increasing the applied pressure rate while the bricks' porosity reduced by 31.2 % when the pressure rate increased from 7.61 MPa to 114.22 MPa. The increase in the fabricated bricks density and the reduction in their porosities enhances the bricks' linear attenuation coefficients as measured by the NaI (Tl) detector along the energy range extended from 0.662 MeV to 1.332 MeV. The linear attenuation coefficient increased by 13.8 %, 17.6 %, 17.0 %, and 17.1 % at gamma ray energies of 0.662 MeV, 1.173 MeV, 1.252 MeV, and 1.332 MeV, respectively. The enhancement in the linear attenuation coefficient increases the bricks' radiation protection efficiency by 10.22 %, 14.48 %, 14.09 %, and 14.26 % at gamma ray energies of 0.662 MeV, 1.173 MeV, 1.252 MeV, and 1.332 MeV, respectively.

  • Objective: The experiment was conducted to evaluate the effects of maternal undernutrition during late pregnancy on the expressions of genes involved in growth and development in ovine fetal perirenal brown adipose tissue (BAT). Methods: Eighteen ewes with singleton fetuses were allocated to three groups at day 90 of pregnancy: restricted group 1 (RG1, 0.33 MJ metabolisable energy [ME]/kg body weight [BW]0.75/d, n = 6), restricted group 2 (RG2, 0.18 MJ ME/kg BW0.75/d, n = 6), and a control group (CG, ad libitum, 0.67 MJ ME/kg BW0.75/d, n = 6). The fetuses were removed at day 140 of pregnancy. All data were analyzed by using the analysis of variance procedure. Results: The perirenal fat weight (p = 0.0077) and perirenal fat growth rate (p = 0.0074) were reduced in RG2 compared to CG. In fetal perirenal BAT, the protein level of uncoupling protein 1 (UCP1) (p = 0.0001) was lower in RG1 and RG2 compared with CG and UCP1 mRNA expression (p = 0.0265) was decreased in RG2. The protein level of myogenic factor 5 (Myf5) was also decreased in RG2 (p = 0.0001). In addition, mRNA expressions of CyclinA (p = 0.0109), CyclinB (p = 0.0019), CyclinD (p = 0.0015), cyclin-dependent kinase 1 (CDK1) (p = 0.0001), E2F transcription factor 1 (E2F1) (p = 0.0323), E2F4 (p = 0.0101), and E2F5 (p = 0.0018) were lower in RG1 and RG2. There were decreased protein expression of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-γ (PPARγ) (p = 0.0043) and mRNA expression of CCAAT/enhancer-binding protein-α (C/EBPα) (p = 0.0307) in RG2 and decreased PPARγ mRNA expression (p = 0.0008) and C/EBPα protein expression (p = 0.0015) in both RG2 and RG1. Furthermore, mRNA expression of bone morphogenetic protein 4 (BMP4) (p = 0.0083) and BMP7 (p = 0.0330) decreased in RG2 and peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor co-activator-1α (PGC-1α) reduced in RG2 and RG1. Conclusion: Our observations support that repression of regulatory factors promoting differentiation and development results in the inhibition of BAT maturation in fetal perirenal fat during late pregnancy with maternal undernutrition.

  • The Gamma-Ray Bursts (GRBs) are classified into the long GRBs (LGRBs) and the short GRBs (SGRBs). Their progenitors are expected to be different because they have its own distinct characteristics. Occasionally, the SGRBs having faint extended emission (EGRBs) are observed. The EGRBs exhibit the analogous properties that the SGRBs have, but observed T90 of the EGRBs is longer than two seconds as the LGRBs. Because the EGRBs have characteristics of the LGRBs and the SGRBs, study of the EGRBs is important to understand origins of the GRBs. In this study, we obtain the luminosity relations of the EGRBs observed by Swift/BAT. We compare these results with luminosity relations on the LGRBs and SGRBs. In addition, we examine the spectral lag relations of spike and extended emission component of the EGRBs detected by CGRO/BATSE, Konus/WIND, Swift/BAT, Fermi/GBM and compare to each other. We find that the luminosity relations of the EGRBs present different results with the LGRBs and the SGRBs. In the spectral lag relations, extended emission component expresses opposite results compared with spike component. Furthermore, the spectral lag relations from the four instruments came up with different outcomes to each other.

  • Echolocation call structure and intensity were measured from the Malaysian Myotis muricola, which were recorded from the hand-released bat. The Malaysian M. muricola produced typical FM call pattern of the genus Myotis, producing steep, downward frequency-modulated calls. The average PF of calls is $64.39{\pm}1.33(kHz)$. Discrete PF patterns of two types are found, which consist of 63.39 kHz and 66.15 kHz. The averages of SF and D are $126.07{\pm}3.37kHz$ and $2.14{\pm}0.29ms$, respectively. There are various IPI lengths with average of $42.97{\pm}12.68ms$. A pulse consists of two harmonies which consist of the first harmony with wider bandwidth and the second harmony with narrower bandwidth. The PF of the first harmony is higher than that of the second harmony. The typical FM call structure, with two harmonies and wide bandwidth, would be highly related to fast flying and wide screening in the dense forests.
