  • The formation of $TiB_2-SiC$ ceramics from $TiB_2$-Polycarbosilane (PCS) mixtures was investigated. The powder mixture of $TiB_2$ with PCS was pressed at $300^{\circ}C$ with 200 MPa and sintered at $1700{\sim}2000^{\circ}C$ for 1 h in a flowing Ar atmosphere. The sintered density of $TiB_2$ with PCS is 93.7% after sintering at $2000^{\circ}C$ for 1 h, which is slightly smaller than that of the specimen without PCS. The microstructure of $TiB_2$ with PCS consists of small and uniform $TiB_2$ particles with well dispersed SiC particles derived from PCS. It is believed that the addition of PCS was effective to suppress the grain growth of $TiB_2$.

  • Thermal properties of Fe- base amorpous alloys were investigated. $Fe_{80}P_6C_{12}B_{12}$ and $Fe_{73}P_{11}C_6B_4AI_4Ge_2$ amorphous alloys were fabricated by melt spinning method and thermal analysis was done by differential scanning calorimeter. After isothermal crystallization. the Avrami exponents of $Fe_{80}P_6C_{12}B_{12}$ and $Fe_{73}P_{11}C_6B_4AI_4Ge_2$ amorphous alloys were 1.8-2.2 and 2.5-4.0, respectively. It means the former alloy shows diffusion controlled growth and the latter one shows interface controlled growth. For $Fe_{80}P_6C_{12}B_{12}$ and $Fe_{73}P_{11}C_6B_4AI_4Ge_2$ amorphous alloys. the activation energies of isothermal crystallization was 353 and 371kJlmol. Also the activation energies of nucleation and growth were 301, 324kJlmol and 273. 30lkJ/mol, respectively. Thus $Fe_{73}P_{11}C_6B_4AI_4Ge_2$ amorphous alloy is considered to be more stable than $Fe_{73}P_{11}C_6B_4AI_4Ge_2$ amorphous alloy.

  • The orthorhombic $MgB_2C_2$ structure contains well-separated parallel graphite-like $B_2C_2^{2-}$ layers which extend infinitely in two dimensions. Three possible ways to distribute B and C atoms in the hexagonal sublattice sites are adopted. Band structures for the hypothetical distribution patterns are examined to assess the electronic stability of these phases and to account for the observed arrangement by means of extended Huckel tight-binding calculations. The preferred choice is the layer with B and C alternating strictly so that B is nearest neighbor to C and vice versa. A rationale for this is given. Due to the alternation of B and C within the honeycomb layers, $MgB_2C_2$ is a band insulator, which through partial substitution of Mg with Li, is predicted to turn metallic with holes in the $\sigma$ bands at the Fermi level.

  • We have grown $MgB_2$ superconducting thin films on the SiC buffer layers by means of hybrid physical-chemical vapor deposition (HPCVD) technique. Prior to that, SiC was first deposited on $Al_2O_3$ substrates at various temperatures from room temperature to $600^{\circ}C$ by using the pulsed laser deposition (PLD) method in a vacuum atmosphere of ${\sim}10^{-6}$ Torr pressure. All samples showed a high transition temperature of ~40 K. The grain boundaries of $MgB_2$ samples with SiC layer are greater in amount, compare to that of the pure $MgB_2$ samples. $MgB_2$ with SiC buffer layer samples show interesting change in the critical current density ($J_c$) values. Generally, at both 5 K and 20 K measurements, at lower magnetic field, all $MgB_2$ films deposited on SiC buffer layers have low $J_c$ values, but when they reach higher magnetic fields of nearly 3.5 Tesla, $J_c$ values are enhanced. $MgB_2$ film with SiC grown at $600^{\circ}C$ has the highest $J_c$ enhancement at higher magnetic fields, while all SiC buffer layer samples exhibit higher $J_c$ values than that of the pure $MgB_2$ films. A change in the grain boundary morphologies of $MgB_2$ films due to SiC buffer layer seems to be responsible for $J_c$ enhancements at high magnetic fields.

  • This study evaluates the factors of e-commerce websites using a Kano model. In this study, especially the Kano model is applied to both business-to-customer(B2C) and business-to-business(B2B) websites in order to reveal how factors are different between the two types, while previous research is limited to mainly evaluation of B2C websites. In addition, the factors on product types supported from websites are defined, which resulted in discovering the differences among the websites by product types. The contribution of this paper is as follows. Firstly, it reveals the actual B2B website evaluation as well as evaluation by product types such as physical and service product. Secondly, it reviews the B2B e-Commerce that will play a key role in the near future.

  • B2C EC has two kinds of perspectives such as technology-oriented and trust-oriented perspectives. As lots of fraud damages on the B2C EC have been reported every day, the trust-oriented perspective receives lots of attention. In this study, an integrative typology for developing and validating trust measures for B2C EC proposed by McKnight et al.(2002a) and McKnight and Chevany(2002b) has been used for trust-oriented perspective, and the TAM(technology acceptance model) model proposed by Fred Davis in 1985 has been used for technology-oriented perspective. An research model had been developed by using the 4 factors of an integrative typology and 5 factors of the TAM model such as perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, trust beliefs, intention, and actual transaction. All 13 hypotheses had been proposed from this research model and tested by field study. 12 hypotheses, including the 4 f actors of an integrative typology as antecedents on trust beliefs, were significant, whereas the hypothesis 5 on the relationship between structural assurance and perceived ease of use was insignificant. Structures on B2C EC like guarantees, regulations, promises, legal recourse, or other procedures seemed to be difficult to B2C EC customers. Therefore, these structures should be developed more easier to B2C EC customers.

  • The mechanical and electrical properties of the pressureless annealed SiC-$TiB_2$ electro conductive ceramic composites were investigated as functions of the transition metal of $TiB_2$. The result of phase analysis for the SiC-$TiB_2$ composites by XRD revealed $\alpha$-SiC(6H). $TiB_2$, and YAG($Al_5Y_3O_{12}$) crystal phase. The relative density showed the lowest 84.8% for the SiC-$TiB_2$ composites added with 39vol.%$TiB_2$. Owing to crack deflection, crack bridging and YAG of fracture toughness mechanism, the fracture toughness showed the highest value of $7.8\;MPa{\cdot}m^{1/2}$ for composites added with 39vol.%$TiB_2$ under a pressureless annealing at room temperature. The electrical resistivity of the SiC-27vol.%$TiB_2$ composites was negative temperature coefficient resistance(NTCR), and the electrical resistivity of the besides SiC-27vol.%$TiB_2$ composites was all positive temperature coefficient resistance(PTCR) in the temperature range of $25^{\circ}C$ to $700^{\circ}C$.
