H.264 기반 다시점 비디오 부호화를 위한 양자화 계수 결정 방법 (Quantization Parameter Selection Method For H.264-based Multi-view Video Coding)

  • 최근 다시점 비디오를 효율적으로 부호화하기 위해 다양한 시공간 예측 구조들이 제안되었다. 이 논문에서는 다시점 비디오 부호화 예측 구조에서 각 GOP의 첫 화면들에 삽입되는 B$_{ANC}$ 화면을 위해 양자화 계수를 결정하는 방법을 제안한다. 각 시점의 영상 화질을 균일하게 유지하고 전체적인 부호화 효율을 높이기 위해 B$_{ANC}$ 화면의 양자화 계수를 적응적으로 조절하며, 인접한 두 참조화면의 비트-왜곡 비용값을 사용하여 상관도를 추정하고 이를 이용하여 B$_{ANC}$ 화면의 양자화 계수를 결정한다. 이 논문에서 제안한 방법을 다시점 비디오 참조 예측 구조에 적용하여 부호화한 결과, 0.09$\sim$0.16 dB 정도의 PSNR 개선을 얻었다.

명화 감상에 기초한 스토리텔링 중심 예술교육활동이 유아의 그림감상능력과 창의성에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Storytelling-Centered Arts Educational Activities Based on the Famous Painting Appreciation on Young Children's Appreciation Ability of Pictures and Creativity)

  • The purpose of this study is to verify the effects of storytelling-centered arts educational activities based on the famous painting appreciation on young children's appreciation ability of pictures and creativity. The study was conducted with a total of 50 5-year-old young children in two classes of B Day Care Center in the city of J, Jeollabukdo. The children were randomly divided into an experimental group(25) and a control group(25). The storytelling-centered arts educational activities based on the famous painting appreciation was conducted for the experimental group for 12 weeks from April 29, 2013 to July 19, 2013. The activities were composed of 3 steps of 'appreciation-expression-exhibition & assessment' on the basis of 2-week basic units. The appreciation activities were composed basing upon the types of the famous painting appreciation and storytelling, and expression and exhibition & assessment activities were composed of 4 areas of arts(music/movement/language/art). The results of the study are as follows. First, the storytelling-centered arts educational activities based on the famous painting appreciation generally improved young children's painting appreciation abilities in all sub-areas(observation and description/artist's intention of subject expression/mood of a work/material and technique/artistic factors/attitude to the work). Second, the storytelling-centered arts educational activities based on the famous painting appreciation generally improved young children's creativities in all sub-areas(originality/fluency/flexibility/imagination).

  • The fundamental idea of this article is to present an effective way to obtain the large groups in terms of the split extension obtained by a finite cyclic group and a free abelian group rank 2. The proof of the main result on largeness property of this specific split extension groups will be given by using the connection of large groups with the groups having deficiency one presentations.

Lightweight Quality Metric Based on No-Reference Bitstream for H.264/AVC Video

  • This paper proposes a quality metric based on a No-Reference Bitstream (NR-B) having least computational complexity for the assessment of the human-perceptual quality of H.264 encoded video. The proposed NR-B method performs a modeling of encoding distortion with three bit-stream information (i.e. frame-rate, motion-vector, and quantization-parameter) that can be directly extractable from the encoded bitstream and does not require additional complex processing of final pictures. From performance evaluation using 165 compressed video sequences, the experiment results show that the proposed metric has a higher correlation with subjective quality than is achieved with other comparable methods.

GOP Adaptation Coding of H.264/SVC Based on Precise Positions of Video Cuts

  • Hierarchical B-frame coding was introduced into H.264/SVC to provide temporal scalability and improve coding performance. A content analysis-based adaptive group of picture structure (AGS) can further improve the coding efficiency, but damages the inter-frame correlation and temporal scalability of hierarchical B-frame to different degrees. In this paper, we propose a group of pictures (GOP) adaptation coding method based on the positions of video cuts. First, the cut positions are accurately detected by the combination of motion coherence (MC) and mutual information (MI); then the GOP is adaptively and proportionately set by the analysis of MC in one scene. In addition, we propose a binary tree algorithm to achieve the temporal scalability of any size of GOP. The results for test sequences and real videos show that the proposed method reduces the bit rate by up to about 15%, achieves a performance gain of about 0.28-1.67 dB over a fixed GOP, and has the advantages of better transmission resilience and video summaries.

  • 본 논문에서는 DCT 영역에서 DCT블록내의 DC성분과 매크로블록내의 움직임 벡터성분을 이용하여 동영상 장면전환 자동 검출에 관한 방법을 제안한다. 제안하는 방법은 압축된 MPEG 신호열내의 픽쳐 종류와 상관없이 임의의 신호열에서 장면전환을 검출한다. 이를 위해 MPEG 신호열의 DCT 영역에서 픽쳐구성요소의 특징을 이용하여 새로운 비교잣대를 정의하고 움직임 벡터에 예민한 B-picture 의 특성을 이용하여 정확한 장면전환을 검출한다. 이때. I-picture를 가지고 급격한(cut) 장면전환을 검출하고 P. B picture 를 가지고 점진적인(gradual) 장면 전환을 검출한다. 제안한 방법은 다양한 MPEG 신호열에 대하여 시험결과 그 효율성이 우수함을 보인다.

방사성동위원소옥소(放射性同位元素沃素)($^{131}I$)의 치료량(治療量)이 갑상선종환자(甲狀腺腫患者)의 혈액상(血液像)에 미치는 영향(影響)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究) (A study on the Hematologic Effects of Radioactive Iodine($^{131}I$) Therapy on Various Thyroid Diseases)

  • To clarify the hematologic effects of the radioiodine ($^{131}I$) in therapeutic doses ($5{\sim}10$ mCi) on the various thyroid patients, authors studied the peripheral blood pictures of 396 goitrous patients before and after radioiodine ($^{131}I$) administrations in the Isotope Clinic of Seoul National University Hospital. Among these 396 cases of goiters, we gave 5 to 10 mCi of radioiodine ($^{131}I$) with single or fractionated administrations. The blood pictures of peripheral blood were repeated after 3 months in 40 cases of 65 cases who had been treated with $^{131}I$. The blood pictures of non-treated thyroid patients were compared with that of normal Korean values to clarify any difference between normal and goiter. The blood pictures of hyperthyroid patients treated with $^{131}I$ therapy were compared with the blood pictures of non-treated thyroid patients. The results were as following: 1) The incidence according to type: Toxic diffuse goiter: 35.4% Nontoxic nodular goiter: 29.7% Euthyroid: 13.8% Nontoxic diffuse goiter: 12.6% Hypothyroidism: 4.3% Thyroiditis($\bar{s}$ subacute form): 1.8% Toxic nodular goiter: 1.4% Malignancy: 1.0% 2) Age incidence: The range of distribution was 11 to 71 years. The peak incidence was found in the 4th decade of life. $80.6{\sim}82.6%$ of those 396 cases were found among the 3rd, 4th and the 5th decades of life. 3) Sex incidence: Sex ratio of male:female was 1:7.8. 4) The most outstanding findings in peripheral blood before treatment were decreased erythrocyte count and hemoglobin value in all types of thyroid diseases, especially in. the cases of hypothyroidism and thyroiditis. Hook worm-infested patients showed no significant difference in erythrocytes and hemoglobin values from those of other hook worm free patients. 5) Total leukocytes count was within normal range. Differential count of W.B.C. showed increased percentile of lymphocyte in diffuse toxic goiter and thyroiditis. 6) 39 cases of diffuse goiter treated with $^{131}I$ toxic showed amelioration in the anemia and restoration to normal range of lymphocyte count in association with increased percentile of neutrophiles 3 months after administration, except a case of toxic nodular goiter. One can observe anemia in slight degree, and increased lymphocytes count in hypothyroidism. Therapeutic dose of radioiodine ($^{131}I$) does not result any residual effect on the hematopoietic function. Radioiodine ($^{131}I$) therapy resulted in improvement of thyroid function in association of amelioration of pevious abnormal blood pictures. 7) Authors did not observe any myxedema resulted from radioiodine therapy during the 3 months period in this study.

  • The growth and the film characteristics of heteroepitaxial $Si_{1-x}Ge_x$ films growth by the Rapid Thermal Chemical Vapor Deposition(RTCVD)method are described. For the growth of $Si_{1-x}Ge_x$ heteroepitaxial layers, $SiH_4/GeH_4/H_2$gas mixtures are used. The growth conditions are varied to investigate their effects on the Si/Ge composition ratios, the interface abruptness and crystalline properties. The Si/Ge composition ratios are analyzed with the RBS and the SIMS techniques, and the interface abruptness are deduced from these data. The crystalline properties are analyzed from TEM pictures. The experimental data shows that the crystalline perfection is excellent at the growth temperature of as low as $650^{\circ}C$, and the composition ratios change linearly with $SiH_4/GeT_$$ gas mixing ratios in our experimental ranges. Boron doping experiments are also performed using 200 ppm $B_2H_6$ source gas. The doping profiles are measured with SIMS technique. The SIMS data shows that the doping abruptness can be controlled within about 200$\AA$/decade.

가토(家兎)를 이용(利用)한 방사선신염(放射線腎炎)의 실험적(實驗的) 연구(硏究) (An Experimental Study for Radiation Nephritis in Rabbits)

  • Experimental radiation nephritis was produced in 15 rabbits by X-irradiation. About $2,000{\gamma}$ (tissue doses) were given to both kidneys of a rabbit in 5 days. Other tissues and organs except both kidneys were protected with 2mm thickened lead plates. 5 weeks after the last irradiation, blood pictures, blood pressures, B.U.N., serum creatinine, Ca, Mg, Fe levels and serum erythropoietin activity of the irradiated rabbits were studied. After finishing above studies, rabbits were sacrificed and both kidneys were removed and examined histopathologically. Same laboratory and pathological studies were performed in 6 control rabbits. In this study, the author obtained following results. 1) Both kidneys of rabbitis with experimental raditation nephritis showed marked histopathological changes, i.e.: renal tubules showed diffuse cloudy swelling, impacted intraluminal hyaline casts and focal precipitations of lime salts on the tubular epithelium. Diffuse interstitial fatty necrosis and various degrees of fibrotic infiltrations on the interstitium were also seen in association with focal lymphocytic infiltrations. Hyaline degenerations were observed on the glomeruli and small vessels. 2) Experimental radiation nephritis rabbits showed marked lowering in R.B.C. counts, decreased hemoglobin levels, low hematocrit values and leucopenia in comparison with those of control rabbits. (P<0.01). (Table 1 & 2). 3) Mild proteinuria were observed in experimental radiation nephritis in rabbits. 4) The levels of B.U.N. and serum creatinine increased in experimental radiation nephritis. (P<0.01). (Table 1,3 & 4) 5) The levels of serum Ca and Mg Showed no statistical difference in comparison with those of control rabbits. (P>0.05) (Table 3 & 4). 6) No statistical correlations were observable between the levels of B.U.N. and Hb. values. (${\gamma}=-0.223$) No close correlations (${\gamma}=-0.328$) were noticed between the levels of B.U.N. and serum iron levels. 7) Erythropoietin activity (R.B.C. $^{59}Fe$ Incorporation) was measured by the modified Fried method. No change in its activity was noticed in radiation nephritis group comparing with that of the control group. (P>0.05). (Table 1,3 & 5). 8) Carotid artery blood pressures showed also no difference.
