A Study of Load Matching on the Net-Zero Energy House (넷 제로에너지주택의 부하매칭에 관한 연구)

  • nZEH (net-Zero Energy House) is defined as a self-sufficient energy building where the sum of energy output generated from new & renewable energy system and annual energy consumption is zero. The electricity generated by new & renewable energy system with the form of distributed generation is preferentially supplied to electrical demand, and surplus electricity is transmitted back to grid. Due to the recent expansion of houses with photovoltaic system and the nZEH mandatory by 2025, the rapid increase of distributed generation is expected. Which means, we must prepare for an electricity-power accident and stable electricity supply. Also electricity charges have to be reduce and the grid-connected should be operated efficiently. The introduction of ESS is suggested as a solution, so the analysis of the load matching and grid interaction is required to optimize ESS design. This study analyzed the load matching and grid interaction by expected consumption behavior using actual data measured in one-minute intervals. The experiment was conducted in three nZEH with photovoltaic system, called all-electric houses. LCF (Load Cover Factor), SCF (Supply Cover Factor) and $f_{grid}$ (Grid Interaction Index) were evaluated as an analysis indicator. As a result, LCF, SCF and $f_{grid}$ of A house were 0.25, 0.23 and 0.27 respectively; That of B house were 0.23, 0.23, 0.19, and that of C were 0.20, 0.19, 0.27 respectively.

Genetic sequence and phylogenetic analysis of spike genes of Porcine epidemic diarrhea virus (PEDV) in Chung-Nam area (충남지역 돼지유행성설사 바이러스 Spike 유전자 염기서열 및 계통분석)

  • Porcine epidemic diarrhea virus (PEDV) causes an acute and lethal watery diarrhea in piglets that is great economic losses to the swine country worldwide. The spike (S) glycoprotein is an important determinant for PEDV biological properties. In the present study, we determined the full-length S gene sequences of five Chung-nam PEDV field isolates collected in 2016. The S gene was amplified by RT-PCR, purificated, sequenced, analyzed and then compared with published sequences of other PEDV strains. 5 field strains share 98.5%~99.9% homologies with each other at the nucleotide sequence level and 96.7%~99.9% homologies with each other at the amino acids sequence level. Most field strains have nucleotide insertions, deletions and mutation regions, and show lower homologies (93.1~93.8%) with classical and vaccine strains, however higher homologies (99.1%~99.5%) with US PEDV isolates in 2013. By phylogenetic tree analysis based on nucleotide sequence, five PEDV field isolates were clustered into Genogroup 2b but differ genetically from the vaccine strains (SM-98 and DR-13).

Selection of model viruses for foot-and-mouth disease virus-related-experiments (구제역 바이러스를 대체할 모델 바이러스 선별)

  • Researchers have comparatively fewer opportunities to conduct experiments on foot-and-mouth disease virus (FMDV), owing to the limited availability of biosafety level 3 facilities. Bovine rhinovirus (BRV) and human rhinovirus (HRV), which are genetically closely related to FMDV, have been evaluated in this study as model viruses for FMDV. To discover whether BRV and HRV have similar physicochemical properties as FMDV, virus susceptibility tests have been performed in different physical (pH and heat) and chemical (acidic/alkaline solutions and commercial disinfectants) conditions in vitro. Our data revealed that the physicochemical characteristics of BRV and HRV were nearly similar to those of FMDV.

Breeding of Cut Rose 'Loving Heart' with Good Flower Shape and Dark Pink Petal Color (화형이 우수한 진분홍색 절화장미 'Loving Heart' 육성)

  • A new cultivar of Rosa hybrida 'Loving Heart' was developed by crossing Gyeongkyo R-6 and 'Noblesse' at Gumi Floricultural Experiment Station in 2002. Characteristics trials were conducted three times from 2004 to 2007. This cultivar showed dark pink flower color (RHS, Red-purple group 66-B) and standard type with good flower shape. The flower diameter is 10.3cm and the number of petals per flower is 55. Vase life of 'Loving Heart' could be as long as 12.3days. The yield of 'Loving Heart' was $127stems/m^2/year$. 'Loving Heart' has good quality of cut flower and strong vigor in plant growth. This cultivar has straight stems and is easy to culture because of a few prickles on the top of stem. This cultivar is appropriate for both soil and solution(hydroponics) cultures.

A New Euphorbia Cultivar 'Panorama' with Green and Pink Colored Bract (녹색과 분홍색의 포를 가진 다육식물 꽃기린 신품종 '파노라마' 육성)

  • A new cultivar of Euphorbia milii, 'Panorama' was developed at Cactus Research Institute, Gyeonggi-do Agricultural Research & Extension Services in 2009. 'Gabi' and 'Maxi' were crossed in 2001 and three $F_1$ seedlings were obtained. Pedigree selection was performed in 2002. One line was finally selected and named as 'Panorama' through the test of specific character from 2007 to 2009. The new cultivar 'Panorama' has green and pink colored bract, and it has 2~3 each of inflorescence number, 2.0 cm of bract width, 4.3 each of lateral shoot and 14.9 cm of plant height. Characters of the cultivar can be maintained by vegetative propagation.

Characteristics as Pulp and Papermaking Resources of Paper-mulberry (B. kazinoki) woods in Jeolla-do Region with Identically Genetic Marker (유전형질이 동일한 전라도지역 닥나무의 펄프제지 자원으로써의 특성)

  • 뽕나무과(Moraceae) 닥나무속(Broussonetia)의 품종에 대한 국내 연구동향으로는 잎의 성상이나 암꽃의 포길이, 엽신의 폭과 같은 수목학 분수학적 관점으로 특징을 파악하기 때문에 구분이 어려운 실정이다. 또한 닥나무(Broussonetia kazinoki Siebold)와 꾸지나무[Broussonetia papyrifera (L.) $L^{\prime}H{\acute{e}}r.$ ex Vent.]의 수목학적 특징이 유사하여 오동정의 사례가 발생하기도 한다. 닥나무의 향명은 다양하게 불리지만 그 분류기준은 명확하지 않다. 본 연구에서는 총 4개 마커(ITS, matK, trnL-F, ndhF)의 염기서열 분석과 분자계통학적 분류를 통해 닥나무와 꾸지나무의 교잡종으로 확인된 전라도지역 닥나무 8개체에 대하여 펄프제지 자원으로써의 특성을 확인하였다. 8개체 인피섬유의 형태학적 특징인 섬유장, 섬유폭, 섬유 내강(Lumen)폭을 통해 Runkel ratio, Slenderness ratio, Flexibility coefficient, Rigidity coefficient를 도출하고 종이의 기계적 강도, 내절도와의 상관관계, 섬유와 섬유간의 결합력 등을 예측하였다. 상기와 같은 연구결과는 유전형질이 동일한 전라도지역 닥나무의 형태학적 특성을 통해 펄프제지 공정에 영향을 미칠 수 있는 인자들을 분석 하였다. 이러한 특성에 따라 다양한 품질의 종이를 제조 할 수 있는 기초 자료로 제공될 것이다.

Phylogenetic Characteristics of Yellow Head Virus (YHV) Genotype 8 Isolated from Fenneropenaeus chinensis in Korea (자연산 대하(Fenneropenaeus chinensis)에서 검출된 노랑머리 바이러스 Genotype 8의 계통분류학적 특성)

  • Yellow head virus (YHV) is a rod-shaped positive-sense single-stranded RNA virus, classified into the genus Okavirus, family Roniviridae, and order Nidovirales. In this study, 200 fleshy prawns (Fenneropenaeus chinensis) collected from the vicinity of Narodo in Goheung-gun, Korea, were screened for the presence of yellow head complex viruses and related genotype such as YHV genotype 8. The detection rate of YHV genotype 8 among the 200 fleshy prawns, determined using nested RT-PCR (reverse transcription polymerase chain reation), was 39.0%. Phylogenetic analysis of the ORF1b gene of YHV showed that eight distinct genetic lineages were detected. The four strains of YHV genotype 8 obtained in this study formed a robust clade with the YHV genotype 8 group that was first isolated from fleshy prawns in China suspected to have acute hepatopancreatic necrosis disease (AHPND).

Barley Varietal Differences in Germination and Emergence Capacity under Different Water and Salt Stress Conditions (수분 및 Salt Stress조건하에서 대맥품종의 발아력과 출현력의 차이)

  • Germination and seedling emergence of 40 barley cultivars and lines having been bred in Korea were studied under different water and salt stress conditions containing different sucrose and KC1 concentration in laboratory at Suweon. This study revealed that the barley cultivars and lines differed markedly in their emergence rate index(ERI), total stand(TS), coleoptile length, seedling height, top and root weight. Those characters of the most cultivars were progressively reduced as water and salt stress increased. Jogangbori, Dongbori 1, SB 77460 and SB 77415 were less sensitive to both stress and will be useful for breeding sources. ERI was highly correlated with TS, coleoptile length and seedling height. ERI and TS between two different solutions were correlated each other, and this study indicated that for screening the varieties or lines tolerant to water and salt stress, both ways were available and should be screened genetic materials with a good germination and emergence rate in I stress conditions.

  • In this paper, to increase the research capability of flight missions and maintenance in operating military aircraft, we studied the requirements for additional mounting of flight video and data recorders and safety verification methods. The verification process of the recorder equipment itself, structural safety in the aircraft system, power and electrical safety, electromagnetic compatibility, and impact of airworthiness are described in accordance with military standards and operating environment requirements. In addition, through ground/flight tests, the results of functional operation suitable for the influence and demand of interference between the flight video and data recorder and other systems are also presented.

  • Mythimna loreyi (Duponchel, 1827) (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) is a pest that damages agricultural plants, such as rice, wheat, and maize. We sequenced the entire 15,314-bp mitochondrial genome of this species. It has a typical set of genes (13 protein-coding genes, two ribosomal RNA genes, and 22 transfer RNA genes) as well as one major non-coding A+T-rich region. Using concatenated sequences of 13 protein-coding genes and two rRNAs (13,376 bp, including gaps), phylogenetic analysis demonstrated that the sister relationship between M. loreyi and M. separata had the highest nodal support. The monophyly of each family (Noctuidae, Euteliidae, Nolidae, Erebidae, and Notodontidae) of the superfamily Noctuoidea was supported by the highest nodal support.
