강화된 자기장 구배 하에서 나노자성입자를 이용한 미세유체 기반의 면역 측정 (Microfluidic immunoassay using superparamagnetic nanoparticles in an enhanced magnetic field gradient)

  • This paper reports a novel immunoassay method using superparamagnetic nanoparticles and an enhanced magnetic field gradient for the detection of protein in a microfluidic device. We use superparamagnetic nanoparticles as a label and fluorescent polystyrene beads as a solid support. Based on this platform, magnetic force-based microfluidic immunoassay is successfully applied to analyze the concentration of IgG as model analytes. In addition, we present ferromagnetic microstructure connected with a permanent magnet to increase magnetic flux density gradient (dB/dx, ${\sim}10^{4}$ T/m), which makes limit of detection reduced. The detection limit is reduced to about 1 pg/mL.

극초고압영역에서의 디젤연료의 자유분무특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Spray Characteristics Analysis of Free Spray of Diesel Fuel with Ultra High Pressure)

  • The characteristics of free spray with ultra injection pressure was analyzed to clear the limit pressure of diesel engine. To obtain final goal, ultra high pressure injection equipment was developed, spray patterns were visualized under various ultra injection pressures. Spray penetration and spray width, volume and entrained air mass were increased with the increase of injection pressure. Sauter mean diameter and injection durstion wert decreased. But over 3,000bar of ultra injection pressure region the rates of increase show almost similar and finally the reversed tendencies at 4,140bar.

  • The important role of the ultrasonic Doppler system in the modem clinical medicine is to provide the clinical information of the vascular system. The ultrasonic pulsed wave(PW) Doppler system, a kind of the ultrasound Doppler system, is more available than the ultrasonic continuous wave(CW) Doppler system because it can evaluate the velocity and the direction of blood flow as well as the depth of vessel. However, the ultrasonic PW Doppler system has the disadvantage that the range of evaluating velocity of blood flow is limited(Nyquist limit). In order to solve this limit, we propose the algorithm for eliminating this aliasing in this paper. In addition, we propose the efficient signal processing algorithm.

고압하에서 수소-산소의 정체점 점화에 관한 이론적 해석 (Asymptotic Analysis on the Stagnation-Point Ignition of Hydrogen-Oxygen Mixture at High Pressures)

  • Ignition of hydrogen and oxygen in the "third limit" is theoretically investigated in the stagnation point flow with activation energy asymptotics. With the steady-state approximations of H, OH, O and HO$_2$, a two-step reduced kinetic mechanism is derived for the regime lower than the crossover temperature T$_{c}$ at which the rates of production and consumption of all radicals are equal. Appropriate scaling of Damkohler number successfully provides the explicit relationship between pressure, temperature and strain rate at ignition. It is shown that, compared with those for the counterflow, ignition temperatures for the stagnation point flow are considerably increased with increasing the system pressure. This is because ignition in the "third limit" is characterized by the production of reduction of $H_2O$$_2$, which is reduced by wall effect. Strain rate substantially affects ignition temperature because key reaction rates of $H_2O$$_2$ are comparably with its transport rate, while the mixture temperature and the hydrogen composition do not significantly affect ignition temperature.e.

  • The effect of substitution of Gd ions for Ca ions in the B $i_{1.84}$P $b_{0.34}$S $r_{1.91}$(C $a_{1-x}$ G $d_{x}$)$_{2.03}$ C $u_{3.06}$ $O_{ 10+{\delta}}$/ (x=0.0~0.06) was investigated by measuring x-ray diffraction patterns, lattice constants, do resistivity and Hall effect. We found the solubility limit of Gd in the 110 K phase to be x < 0.015. Within the solubility limit, the c-axis seemed to decrease with increasing x. In the region of the 110 K single phase, the critical temperature $T_{c}$ gradually decreased with an increasing the Gd concentration x, corresponding to a small change of the carrier concentration.

  • The drawability of AZ31B magnesium sheet is estimated according to the variable temperatures (200, 250, 300, 350 and $400^{\circ}C$), forming speed (20, 50, 100 mm/min), thickness (0.8, 1.4 t), blank holding force (1.0, 1.4, 1.7kN). The deep drawing process (DDP) of circular cup is used in forming experiments. The results of deep drawing experiences show that the drawability is well at the range from 250 to $300^{\circ}C$, 50mm/min forming speed and 1.4kN blank holding force. The 0.8t magnesium sheets were deformed better than 1.4t. BHF was controlled in order to improve drawability and protect the change of cup thickness. When BHF was controlled, tearing and thickness change were decreased and LDR. was improved from 2.1 to 3.0.

  • The purpose of this paper is to investigate the effect of annealing treatment on cold formability of magnesium alloy sheet AZ31. The AZ31 sheets with three different thickness (1.0t, 1.6t, 2.0t) were annealed at three different temperatures ($345^{\circ}C$, $400^{\circ}C$ and $450^{\circ}C$). The mechanical properties and microstructure evolution of the annealed AZ31 were examined as well as limit dome height (LDH) and compared with those of as received one. The cold formability was enhanced but the strength was deteriorated by the annealing treatment.

Thyroid Hormones Receptor/Reporter Gene Transcription Assay for Food Additives and Contaminants

  • Many of thyroid hormones disrupting chemicals induce effects via interaction with thyroid hormone and retinoic acid receptors and responsive elements intrinsic in target cells. We studied thyroid hormones disrupting effects of food additives and contaminants including BHA, BHT, ethoxyquin, propionic acid, sorbic acid, benzoic acid, CPM, aflatoxin B1, cadmium chloride, genistein, TCDD, PCBs and TDBE in recombinant HeLa cells containing plasmid construct for thyroxin responsive elements. The limit of response of the recombinant cells to T3 and T4 was $1\times10^{-12}\;M$. BHA. genistein, cadmium and TBDE were interacted with thyroid receptors with dose-responsive pattern. In addition, BHA, BHT, ethoxyquin, propionic acid, benzoic acid, sorbic acid, and TBDE showed synergism while cadmium chloride antagonism for T3-induced activity. This study elucidates that recombinant HeLa cell is sensitive and high-throughput system for the detection of chemicals that induce thyroid hormonal disruption via thyroid hormone receptors and responsive elements. Also this study raised suspect of BHA. BHT, ethoxyquin, propionic acid, benzoic acid, sorbic acid, TBDE, genisteine and cadmium chloride as thyroid hormonal system disruptors.

  • This paper presents a method for assessing reliability indices of transmission system. Because successful operation of electric power under the deregulated electricity market depends on transmission system reliability management, quantity evaluation of transmission system reliability is very important. The key point idea is based on that the reliability level of transmission system is equal to reliability level difference of between composite power system(HLII) and generation system(HLI). It is the reason that composite power system includes uncertainties and capacity limit of transmission lines. The practicality and effectiveness of this methodology are illustrated by the case study using the KEPCO size system.
