Association between dietary flavanones intake and lipid profiles according to the presence of metabolic syndrome in Korean women with type 2 diabetes mellitus

  • BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: This study was aimed at examining the association between dietary flavanones intake and lipid profiles according to the presence of metabolic syndrome (MetS) in Korean women with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). SUBJECTS/METHODS: A cross-sectional analysis was performed among 502 female T2DM patients (non-MetS group; n = 129, MetS group; n = 373) who were recruited from the Huh's Diabetes Clinic in Seoul, Korea between 2005 and 2011. The dietary intake was assessed by a validated semi-quantitative food frequency questionnaire (FFQ) and the data was analyzed using the Computer Aided Nutritional Analysis program (CAN-Pro) version 4.0 software. The intake of flavanones was estimated on the basis of the flavonoid database. RESULTS: In the multiple linear regression analysis after adjustment for confounding factors, daily flavanones intake was negatively associated with CVD risk factors such as total cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol, and apoB and apoB/apoA1 ratio only in the MetS group but not in the non-MetS group. Multiple logistic regression analysis revealed that the odds ratio for a higher apoB/apoA1 ratio above the median (${\geq}0.74$) was significantly low in the $4^{th}$ quartile compared to that in the $1^{st}$ quartile of dietary flavanones intake [OR: 0.477, 95% CI: 0.255-0.894, P for trend = 0.0377] in the MetS group. CONCLUSIONS: Dietary flavanones intake was inversely associated with the apoB/apoA1 ratio, suggesting a potential protective effect of flavanones against CVD in T2DM women with MetS.

Bandwidth Enhancement of Circularly Polarized Dielectric Resonator Antenna

  • Axial-ratio (AR) bandwidth enhancement is achieved for a circularly polarized (CP) cylindrical dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) using a wideband hybrid coupler (WHC) combined with dual probe feed. The presented WHC, comprised of a Wilkinson power divider and a wideband $90^{\circ}$ shifter, delivers good characteristics in terms of 3 dB power splitting and consistent $90^{\circ}$ (${\pm}5^{\circ}$) phase shifting over a wide bandwidth. In turn, the proposed CP DRA, for the employment of the WHC, in place of conventional designs, provides a significant enhancement on AR bandwidth and impedance matching. The antenna prototype with the WHC exhibits a 3 dB AR bandwidth of 48.66%, an impedance bandwidth of 52.5% for voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) ${\leq}2$, and a bandwidth of 44.66% for a gain of no less than 3 dBi. Experiments demonstrate that the proposed WHC is suitable for broadband CP DRA design.

  • 제주도 고등어 자망어업의 주어기인 1974년 5월 28일부터 8월 31일까지 서귀포와 비양도근해어장에서 고등어 자망어구의 이망율에 관한 시험조업결과는 다음과 같다. 1. $X^2$ t 검정에 의하면 고등어 nylon-monofilament 자망 B형이 nylon-multifilament 자망 A형보다 이망성능이 우위하고 나망율비는 $m_A:m_B=1:1.8$이다. 2. 망목 75mm인 nylon-monofilament 자망 C형, D형이 망목 85mm인 nylon-monofilament 자망 E형 F형 보다 이망성능이 우위하고 이망율비는 $m_E{\cdot}F:m_C{\cdot}D=1:2.8$이다. 3. 망계 굵기가 120tex와 75tex이고 망목이 75m 및 85mm인 C, D, E, F, 형에서는 상호간의 우위는 모두 확인할 수 없었다.

냉간성형 각형강관 모살용접 T형 접합부의 최대내력(I) - 주관 플랜지 파괴모드 - (Ultimate Strength of Fillet-welded T-joints in Cold-formed Square Hollow Sections - Chord flange failure mode -)

  • 본 논문은 냉간성형 각형강관 T형 접합부의 최대내력과 변형제한치에 대한 연구이다. 전회의 실험적 연구로부터, T형 접합부는 주관폭에 대한 지관폭의 비(${\beta}$) 0.8이하의 범위에서 변형의 증가와 함께 내력이 계속적으로 증가하는 양상을 나타내었다. 따라서, 일정한 변형량(주관플랜지에서의 변위)에 대응하는 하중을 T형 접합부의 최대내력으로 정의할 수 있을 것이다. 폭비(${\beta}$)와 주관 두께에 대한 폭의 비(B/T)가 주관 플랜지 파괴모드에 미치는 영향을 검토하였다. 기존의 Kato에 의해 수행된 실험을 포함한 실험결과로부터 $16.7{\leq}B/T{\leq}41.6$ 이고 $0.27{\leq}{\beta}{\leq}0.8$ 인 범위의 T형 접합부에 대하여, 최대내력을 정의를 위한 변형제한치는 주관폭의 3% 변형량(3%B)으로 제안하였다. CIDECT의 설계식 및 기존의 제안내력식과 실험결과를 비교하였고, 최종적으로 항복선이론에 근거한 내력식을 제안하였다.

UWB 신호의 Ep/No 추정 알고리즘 (An Algorithm for Estimating Ep/No of UWB Signals)

  • 최근 고속의 데이터 전송이 가능하며 전송율과 신호대잡음비를 선형적으로 절충할 수 있는 UWB (ultra wide-band) 무선통신 기술이 근거리 무선 통신망 분야에서 관심이 고조되고 있다. UWB 무선통신 기술의 장점을 활용하고 UWB 시스템과 공존하는 시스템에 대한 간섭을 최소화하기 위해서는 수신 단에서의 신호대잡응비를 알아 야 한다. 본 논문에서는 UWB 신호에 대하여 수신단의 상관기의 출력만을 이용하여 펄스에너지대잡음비 Ep/No 를 추정하는 알고리즘을 제안하고 이 알고리즘의 성능을 모의실험을 통하여 평가하였다 모의실험 결과에 의하면 추정치의 평균값은 신호의 실제 Ep/No에 대하여 표준편차는 최대 1.l3dB 이내 이며 실제 값과 추정치간의 오차가 $\pm$3dB 이상 발생한 경우는 블록 크기가 500이며 Ep/No 가 2dB 경우에서만 발생하고 나머지 경우에서는 발생 하지 않았다 전반적으로 신호의 실제 Ep/No 가 증가할수록 정밀도가 증가하고 사용된 데이터 블록의 크기가 증가 할수록 추정 성능도 비례하여 개선되는 것으로 나타났다. 제안된 알고리즘의 특징은 추정 과정에서 추가척언 특정 형태의 훈련용 신호를 전송하지 않기 때문에 유효 데이터 전송률을 감소시키지 않는다는 점이다.

AZ31B 마그네슘 판재의 온.열간 ?K드로잉에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Deep Drawing of AZ31B Magnesium Sheet at Warm and Hot Temperature)

  • The drawability of AZ31B magnesium sheet is estimated at various temperatures($200,\;250,\;300,\;350\;and\;400^{\circ}C$), and forming speed(20, 50, 100mm/min), thickness(0.5, 0.8, 1.0, 1.4mm). The deep drawing process of circular cup and square cup were used in forming experiments. Experimental and FEM analysis are performed to investigate drawability and affection of controlled blank holding force. Through the controlled blank holding force, drawability was improved. Limit drawing ratio is increased from 2.1 to 3.0 in circular cup drawing and change of thickness is decreased from 16.3 to 6.9%. This result is verified by FEM analysis. Through the observation of microstructure, the main cause is investigated as a quantity of the dynamic recrystallization.

LTCC 공정을 이용한 송신 30GHz/수신 20GHz 이중급전 원형편파 패치 안테나 설계 (The Design of Tx 30GHz/ Rx 20GHz Dual Feeding Circular Polarized Patch Antenna Using LTCC Process)

  • In this paper, circular polarized antennas of Tx 30GHz and Rx 20GHz are implemented in LTCC process. Tx antenna has a circular patch structure and Rx antenna has a ring patch structure. The feeding line of Tx antenna is placed in the center hole of Rx ring patch antenna which is printed under Tx circular patch antenna layer. It makes antenna size smaller. Tx antenna's return loss in under -l0dB level from 30GHz to 31GHz and Rx antenna is under -10 dB from 20GHz to 21GHz. The isolation between two antennas is less than -20dB. Axial ratio is less than 3dB thoughout each band.

과급 디젤엔진에서 선회비 변경에 따른 흡기 포트유동 및 엔진성능 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Characteristics of Intake Port Flow and Performance with Swirl Ratio Variance in a Turbocharged D.I. Diesel Engine)

  • The characteristics of intake port flow and engine performance with swirl ratio variance in a turbocharged D.I. diesel engine were studied in this paper. The intake port flow is important factor which have influence on the engine performance and exhaust emission because the properties in the injected fuel depend on the combustion characteristics. Through these experiments it can be expected to satisfy performance and emission by optimizing the main parameters; the swirl ratio of intake port, injection timing and compression ratio. The swirl ratio for ports was modified by hand-working and measured by impulse swirl meter. For the effects on performance and emission, the brake torque and brake specific fuel consumption were measured by engine dynamometer, NOx and smoke were measured by gas analyzer and smoke meter. The results of steady flow test are as follows; as the valve eccentricity ratio are closed to cylinder wall, the flow coefficient and swirl intensity are increased. Also we realized that there is a trade-off that the increase of swirl ratio decreases mean flow coefficient and increases the Gulf factor. And the optimum parameters to meet performance and emission through engine test are as follows; the swirl ratio 2.43, injection timing BTDC 13oCA and compression ratio 15.5.

The Analysis of Protection Ratio and Its Effect of Interference-to-Noise Ratio for Digital Microwave System with Diversity

  • In this paper, the derivation of the protection ratio for the digital microwave system with diversity is newly suggested for a basic guidance of initial planning for frequency coordination, and computational results are presented for an actual radio frequency band. The net filter discrimination has been also examined to see the effect of the adjacent channel protection ratio caused by adjacent channel interference. In addition, the protection ratios for the space or frequency diversity system are analyzed in terms of diversity improvement factors to find out an equivalent allowable noise-to-interference ratio (N/I) from degraded fade margin. According to results for 6.2 GHz system, with the space diversity of 25 m distance between antennas or the frequency diversity of ${\Delta}f/f=0.05$, under 64-QAM and 60 km at BER $10^{-6}$, the protection ratio can be greatly reduced in comparison to the non-diversity system. So, assuming that only the same protection ratio as the non-diversity system is kept, it is shown that the system with diversity may get more interference level of N/I allowing from 9.0 to - 5.9 dB or from 6.0 to - 4.3 dB for the space or frequency diversity. In consequence, it is concluded that the diversity system is more robust or tolerable for interferences or fades, which may play an important role in overcoming N/I to some extent.

뇌 컴퓨터단층검사 시 양자잡음제거 알고리즘을 적용한 영상의 비교평가 (Comparative Evaluation of Images after Applying Quantum Denoising System Algorithm to Brain Computed Tomography)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 뇌 컴퓨터단층검사 시 양자잡음제거(Quantum Denoising System; QDS) 알고리즘을 적용한 영상 분석을 통해 화질 향상 효과를 알아보고자 한다. 2017년 7월부터 2017년 10월까지 경북 소재 G 영상의학과에 뇌 컴퓨터단층검사를 위해 내원한 45명의 성인을 대상으로 동의하에 후향적 연구를 하였고, 뇌 컴퓨터단층검사 시 QDS(-)를 적용하지 않은 그룹(A Group)과 QDS(+)를 적용한 그룹(B Group)으로 나누어 검사하였다. 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 노이즈값은 Pons부분과 Vermis부분 모두 QDS(+)를 적용한 B그룹에서 통계적으로 유의하게 낮았다(A Group; Pons $6.92{\pm}0.98HU$, Vermis 6.72, B Group; Pons $5.41{\pm}1.05HU$, Vermis $5.28{\pm}0.73HU$ : p<0.05). SNR값은 Pons부분과 Vermis 부분 모두 QDS(+)를 적용한 B그룹에서 통계적으로 유의하게 높았다(A Group; Pons $5.21{\pm}1.28$, Vermis $6.23{\pm}1.49$, B Group; Pons $7.28{\pm}2.56$, Vermis $8.63{\pm}3.04$ : p<0.05). 결론적으로 뇌 컴퓨터단층검사 시 양자잡음제거 알고리즘을 적용한다면 영상의 노이즈 감소 및 신호 대 잡음비(SNR), 대조도 대 잡음비(CNR)를 좀 더 개선시켜 진단에 적절한 영상을 얻을 수 있을 것으로 생각된다.
