3차원 유한요소 한계해석을 이용한 관통균열 배관의 소성한계하중 (Plastic Limit Loads for Through-Wall Cracked Pipes Using 3-D Finite Element Limit Analyses)

  • The present paper provides plastic limit load solutions of axial and circumferential through-wall cracked pipes based on detailed three-dimensional (3-D) finite element (FE) limit analysis using elastic-perfectly-plastic behavior. As a loading condition, axial tension, global bending moment, internal pressure, combined tension and bending and combined internal pressure and bending are considered for circumferential through-wall cracked pipes, while only internal pressure is considered for axial through-wall cracked pipes. Especially, more emphasis is given for through-wall cracked pipes subject to combined loading. Comparisons with existing solutions show a large discrepancy in short through-wall crack (both axial and circumferential) for internal pressure. In the case of combined loading, the FE limit analyses results show thickness effect on limit load solutions. Furthermore, the plastic limit load solution for circumferential through-wall cracked pipes under bending is applied to derive plastic $\eta\;and\;{\gamma}$-factor of testing circumferential through-wall cracked pipes to estimate fracture toughness. Being based on detailed 3-D FE limit analysis, the present solutions are believed to be meaningful fur structural integrity assessment of through-wall cracked pipes.

  • 수송기기의 연비향상과 에너지 절감을 위하여 자동차 업계를 비롯한 각종 산업 전반에 마그네슘 합금의 적용이 확대되고 있는 추세이다. 조밀육방 격자 구조(HCP)를 갖는 마그네슘 합금의 경우, 낮은 성형성과 강한 소성 비대칭성 및 소성 이방성으로 인하여 실제 부품의 적용에 많은 제약조건이 수반되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 CPB06 항복함수를 이용하여 AZ31의 인장-압축 비대칭성을 모델링하고 이를 이용하여 AZ31 튜브의 압괴해석을 수행하고자 하였다.

  • Failure phenomena in uni-axial tension test were experimentally and numerically investigated for AA6111-T4, AA5083-H18 and DP-Steel, which were friction-stir welded with the same and different thicknesses. Forming limit diagram(FLD) was measured using hemispherical dome stretching tests for base materials and also predicted by Hill's bifurcation and M-K theories for welded areas. Finite element simulations well predicted hardening behaviors, failure locations as well as failure patterns for the uni-axial tension tests especially utilizing very fine meshes and FLD along with stress softening.

  • 축방향 인장 및 압축하중을 받는 점탄성층을 갖는 복합재료 적층보의 동력학적 거동을 해석하였다. 개선된 지그재그 보이론과 지배방정식에 기초한 기하학적 상관식을 이용하여 점탄성층을 갖는 복합재료 적층보를 모델링하였고 이에 기초한 보 유한요소를 개발하였다. 축방향 인장 및 압축하중하의 고유진동수와 감쇠계수는 복소수 유일법을 이용하여 계산하였다. 축방향 인장 및 압축하중이 고유진동수 및 감쇠계수에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다.

  • It is important to control the axial forces of high tension bolts such as the automobile, construction machine, aircraft, marine engine bolts. However, the direct method to measure the axial forces of bolts practically have not been found out. The ultrasonic techniques is based on the principles that the bolt tensile elongation and ultrasonic velocity changes are proportional to the axial force below the yield point of the materials. From the result of the experiment, the coefficient of acoustoelasticity k could be measured as - 11.18*10$_{-5}$m $m^{2}$k $g_{f}$./.

  • 현수교 주 케이블은 케이블 밴드의 볼트 축력에 대한 정기적인 유지 관리가 매우 중요하다. 현수교 케이블 밴드의 볼트 축력은 시간이 경과함에 따라 케이블 소선의 크리프 현상, 볼트의 릴렉세이션, 하중 변동, 케이블 소선의 재배열 등으로 인해 축력 감소 현상이 발생하게 된다. 본 연구에서는 국내 현수 교량(SR대교)의 케이블 밴드가 시간이 경과하면서 발생하는 축력 감소 현상에 대해 그 원인 및 감소량 등에 대한 현장 측정 및 이론적 검토, 안전율 검토, 장기적인 이력 관리 등을 수행하였다. 그 결과, 케이블 밴드 볼트 축력 감소는 주 케이블 소선에 사용된 아연 도금층의 소성 변형에 크게 영향받는 것을 확인하였으며, 이에 대한 이론적 체계 및 장기 이력 관리에 대한 적용성을 확립하였다.

Stress analysis of an infinite rectangular plate perforated by two unequal circular holes under bi-axial uniform stresses

  • Exact solutions for stresses for an infinite rectangular plate perforated by two circular holes of different radii subjected to uni-axial or bi-axial uniform loads are investigated using the Airy stress function. The hoop stresses occurring at the edge of the circular hole are computed and plotted. Comparisons are made for the stress concentration factors for several types of loading conditions.

  • Experimental studies for the high damping rubber bearing, lead rubber bearing and natural rubber bearing, those are often used to improve the seismic capacity if the structure recently, are conducted to evaluate the seismic capacity of the seismic isolation bearings. The shear stiffness of the bearings decrease and the shear strain amplitude or the constant axial load level increase, but not sensitive to the strain rate effect. Bearings are strong for the axial compression but weak for the axial tension.

  • It is well known that axial tension decreases the shear strength of RC beams without transverse reinforcement, and axial compression increases the shear resistance. What is perhaps not very well understood is how much the shear capacity is influenced by axial load. RC beams without shear reinforcement subjected to large axial compression and shear may fail in a very brittle manner at the instance of first diagonal cracking. As a result, a conservative approach should be used for such members. According to the ACI Code, the concrete contribution is calculated by effect of axial force and the vertical force in the stirrups calculated by $45^{\circ}$ truss model. This study was performed to examine the effect of axial force in reinforced concrete beams.
