  • Fourteen reservoirs maintained by the local land improvement associations in the province of Chullabuk-Do and 20 reservoirs maintained by those in the province of Chullanam-Do, were surveyed in connection with a correction between storage capacity and sediment deposit. In addition to this survey, 3347 of small scale reservoirs, that lie scattered around in the above mentioned two provinces were investigated by using existing records pertaining to storage capacity in the office of City and Country, respectively. According to this inrestigation. the following conclusions are derived. 1. A sediment deposition rate is high, being about 10.63m$^3$/ha of drainage area, and resulting in the average decrease of storage capacity by 27.5%. This high rate of deposition could be mainly attributed to the severe denudation of forests due to disorderly cuttings of trees. Especially, in small scale reservoirs, an original average design storage depth of 197mm in irrigation water depth is decreased to about 140mm. 2. An average unit storage depth of 325.6mm as the time of initial construction is decreased to 226mm at present. This phenomena causes a greater shortage of gation water, since it was assumed that original storage quantity itself was already in short.

  • In this paper, a new reversible watermarking algorithm with adaptive embedding threshold matrix is proposed. Firstly, to avoid the overflow and underflow, two flexible thresholds, TL and TR, are applied to preprocess the image histogram with least histogram shift cost. Secondly, for achieving an optimal or near optimal tradeoff between the embedding capacity and imperceptibility, the embedding threshold matrix, composed of the embedding thresholds of all blocks, is determined adaptively by the combination between the composite chaos and the average energy of Integer Wavelet Transform (IWT) block. As a non-liner system with good randomness, the composite chaos is suitable to search the optimal embedding thresholds. Meanwhile, the average energy of IWT block is calculated to adjust the block embedding capacity, and more data are embedded into those IWT blocks with larger average energy. The experimental results demonstrate that compared with the state-of-the-art reversible watermarking schemes, the proposed scheme has better performance for the tradeoff between the embedding capacity and imperceptibility.

  • With 9 existng reservoirs selected in the Sab-Gyo River Basin, the sedimentation of the reservoirs has been calculated by comparing the present capacity with the original value, which revealed its reduced reservoirs capacity. The reservoirs has a total drainage area of 6,792 ha, with a total capacity of 1,204.09 ha-m, and are short of water supply due to reduction of reservoirs capacity. Annual sedimention in the reservcire is relation to the drainage area, the mean of annual rain fall, and the slop of drainage area. The results of obtained from the investigation are summarized as follow; (1) A sediment deposition rate is very high, being about $9.19{m}^3/ha$ of drainage area, and resulting in the average decrease of reservoir capacity by 19.1%. This high rate of deposition could be mainly attributed to the serve denvdation of forests due to disor derly cuttings of tree. (2) An average unit storage of 415.8mm as the time of initial construation is decreesed to 315.59mm at present, as resultting, we could'nt supply water at 566.24ha. (3) A sediment deposition rate as a relation to the capacity of unit drainage area is as follow; $Qs=1.43 (c/a)^{0.531}$ (4) A sediment deposition rate as a relation to the mean of annval rainfall is as follow; $Qs=672.61 p^{0.024}$ (5) A sediment deposition rate as a relation to the mean slop of drainage area is follow; $Qs=267.21 S^{0.597}$

  • We present a numerical analysis of the optimal group number for minimizing the average paging delay. In the analysis, we consider uniform distributions for location probability conditions and apply M/D/1 queueing model to paging message queues of cells. We also get the lower bounds of group numbers and investigate the minimum transmission capacity under average paging delay constraints. Minimizing the average paging delay is important because it means minimizing the amount of bandwidth used for locating mobile terminals. Therefore, the numerical results of this paper will be very useful in PCS system when designing its signalling capacity due to its simplicity and effectiveness.

  • In this thesis, the field test results of fifty-one highway bridges were analyzed in order to Investigate the primary capacity of load of highway bridges. From this study, it was known that primary capacity of load are decreased with the serviced years, and those are small in T-beam bridges rather than I-beam bridges. And the average primary capacity of load of highway bridges is seemd about 15. 5ton in T-beam bridges and in I-beam bridges about 19.7ton.

  • A total of 11,395 animals were impounded in shelters in Seoul in 2013. The Animal Protection Division of the Seoul metropolitan government has annual contracts with local veterinary associations as well as Korean animal rescue and management organizations for providing shelter to animals, and collects monthly statistics from these groups. In 2013, the collected intake and outcome data for 25 districts were reviewed to analyze shelter capacity in terms of housing capacity (monthly daily average intake, required holding capacity, and adoption-driven capacity), staff capacity (staff hours required for daily care), and live release rate. Seasonal variations in the monthly daily average intake were observed, indicating that management of these shelters requires various strategies. This study was performed to analyze and interpret meaningful statistics for improving the efficiency of animal shelters in Seoul. However, inconsistent collection of animal statistics limited data compilation. Creation of a basic animal statistics matrix with reference to well-designed matrices from recognized professional animal shelters is essential. These complied statistical data will help plan for future animal shelter needs in Seoul.

  • The purpose of this research were to evaluate the overall capacity of activity in hemiplegic patients caused by stroke, to learn the relationship of the overall capacity of activity with 8 out of 9 subtest of the Motor Assessment Scale (MAS) excluding general tonus subtest, and to use in creation of more efficient rehabilitation program by using Motor Assessment Scale (MAS). Twenty-four stroke patients (14 men and 10 women) were the subjects in this study. Their average age was 59.5 and they received average of 17.88 month of therapy. Collected data analysis was completed by using Statistic Analysis System (SAS). The results were as follows: 1) There was no difference in capacity of activity between right hemiplegia and left hemiplegia. 2) There was no difference in capacity of activity compared therapeutic period and age. 3) In comparing the relationship of the each subtest with the overall capacity of activity, upper arm function showed the highest relation (pearson's r = 0.914), and balance sitting (pearson's r= 0.812) and supine to sitting overside of bed (pearson'sr = 0.746) also showed large relationship. 4) Hand movement (pearson's r = -0.45) and advanced hand activity (pearson's r = -0.401) revealed relationship of general tonus with each subtest. 5) Supine to sitting over side of bed (pearson's r = 0.74), balanced sitting(pearson's r = 0.523), and sitting to standing (pearson's r = 0.723) showed large relationship with walking.

  • This paper aims to develop a practical finite capacity MRP (FCMRP) system based on the needs of an automotive parts manufacturing company in Thailand. The approach includes a linear goal programming model to determine the optimal start time of each operation to minimize the sum of penalty points incurred by exceeding the goals of total earliness, total tardiness, and average flow-time considering the finite capacity of all work centers and precedence of operations. Important factors of the proposed FCMRP system are penalty weights and dispatching rules. Effects of these factors on the performance measures are statistically analyzed based on a real situation of an auto-part factory. Statistical results show that the dispatching rules and penalty weights have significant effects on the performance measures. The proposed FCMRP system offers a good tradeoff between conflicting performance measures and results in the best weighted average performance measures when compared to conventional forward and forward-backward finite capacity scheduling systems.
