  • As the Internet is quickly evolving from best-effort networks to a very critical communications infrastructure that requires higher quality Internet services and the delivery of such communications services become competitive, large-scale NSPs or ISPs have to concern much more on the performance and efficient resource usages of their networks. This situation naturally leads the providers to seek a possible solution from traffic engineering (TE) methodologies. In this paper, we propose a TE server solution for a large-scale MPLS-based IP autonomous system, which addresses these TE requirements such as the measurement, characterization, modeling and control of Internet traffic.

  • Recently, there has been an increase in the demand to enhance the intelligence of construction equipment and systems. Especially for semiautonomous and autonomous systems that have great potential for impact on the construction industry, artificial intelligence approaches are required to generate instructions and plans necessary to perform tasks in dynamically changing environments on their own. The framework for an intelligent earthwork system (IES) is suggested in this paper. It generates a plan automatically for construction equipment and provides a means of cooperation between construction equipment seamlessly. This paper describes the system architecture, control strategy, task planning method, and resource allocation method for IES.

  • 지능정보시스템 구축에 있어서 자동화가 어려운 단계중의 하나인 규칙 습득을 위해 활용되는 방법중의 하나가 제한된 언어집합 기법을 이용하는 것이다. 그러나 제한된 언어집합 기법을 이용해 규칙을 생성하기 위해서는 규칙을 구성하는 변수와 그 값들에 대한 정보가 사전에 정의되어 있어야 하는데, 유동성이 큰 웹 환경에서 예상 가능한 모든 변수와 그 값을 사전에 정의하는 것이 매우 어렵다. 이에 본 연구에서는 이러한 한계를 극복하기 위해 제한된 언어집합 기법과 온톨로지를 이용한 규칙 생성 방법론을 제시하였다. 이를 위해 지식의 습득 대상이 되는 특정 문장은 문법구조 분석기를 이용해 파싱을 수행하며, 파싱된 단어들을 이용해 규칙의 구성 요소인 변수와 그 값을 식별한다. 그러나 규칙을 내포한 자연어 문장의 불완전성으로 인해 변수가 명확하지 않거나 완전히 빠져 있는 경우가 흔히 발생하며, 이로 인해 온전한 형식의 규칙 생성이 어렵게 된다. 이 문제는 도메인 온톨로지의 생성을 통해 해결하였다. 이 온톨로지는 특정 도메인을 구성하고 있는 개념들간의 관계를 포함하고 있다는 점에서는 기존의 온톨로지와 유사하지만, 규칙을 완성하는 과정에서 사용된 개념들의 사용빈도를 기반으로 온톨로지의 구조를 변경하고, 결과적으로 더 정확한 규칙의 생성을 지원한다는 점에서 기존의 온톨로지와 차별화된다. 이상의 과정을 통해 식별된 규칙의 구성요소들은 제한된 언어집합 기법을 이용해 구체화된다. 본 연구에서 제안하는 방법론을 설명하기 위해 임의의 인터넷 쇼핑몰에서 수행되는 배송관련 웹 페이지를 선정하였다. 본 방법론은 XRML에서의 지식 습득 과정의 효율성 제고에 기여할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

Detecting Lane Departure Based on GIS Using DGPS (DGPS를 이용한 GIS기반의 차선 이탈 검지 연구)

  • This paper proposes a method utilizing Differential Global Position System (DGPS) with Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) and pre-built Geo-graphic Information System (GIS) to detect lane departure of a vehicle. The position of a vehicle measured by DGPS with RTK has 18 cm-level accuracy. The preconditioned GIS data giving accurate position information of the traffic lanes is used to set up coordinate system and to enable fast calculation of the relative position of the vehicle within the traffic lanes. This relative position can be used for safe driving by preventing the vehicle from departing lane carelessly. The proposed system can be a key component in functions such as vehicle guidance, driver alert and assistance, and the smart highway that eventually enables autonomous driving supporting system. Experimental results show the ability of the system to meet the accuracy and robustness to detect lane departure of a vehicle at high speed.

Intelligent Attitude Control of an Unmanned Helicopter

  • This paper presents a new attitude stabilization and control of an unmanned helicopter based on neural network compensation. A systematic derivation on the dynamics of an unmanned small-scale helicopter is performed. Combined rotor-fuselage-tail dynamics is derived in body-fixed reference frame with its origin at the C.G. of the helicopter. And the resulting nonlinear equation of motion consists of 6-DOF air vehicle dynamics as well as the rotor flapping and engine torque equations. A simulation model was modified using the existing simulator for an unmanned helicopter dynamic model, which reflects the unmanned test helicopter(CNUHELI). The dynamic response of the refined model was compared with the flight test data. It can be shown that a good coincidence was accomplished between the real unmanned helicopter system and the mathematical model. This dynamic model was linearized for classical controller design using small perturbation method. A Neuro-PD control system was designed for both longitudinal and lateral flight modes, and the results were compared with the PD-only control response. Simulation results show that the proposed Neuro-PD control system demonstrates better performance.

  • ISO 14649 is a new interface (or language) standard for the CAD-CAM -CNC chain, currently under establishment by ISO TC184 SCI and SC4 . Upon completion, it will replace ISO 6983, so called M amp; G codes used for CNC since 1950' s. As the new language is being established, a new CNC controller called STEP-CNC (STEP­compliant CNC), capable of carrying out various intelligent tasks using the new language as an input, receives worldwide attention. In this paper, we present a distributed architecture for STEP-NC system based on the generic paradigm of STEP-NC. The STEP-NC system is consisted of 3 sub-systems: 1) CGS (Code Generation System), 2) CES (Code Edit System), and 3) ACS (Autonomous Control System). Also presented in this paper is algorithm for delta volume decomposition, a crucial algorithm for developing CGS. First method is based on the cutting tool and the second method is based on the turning features commonly used in the shop floor. An illustrative example is given to compare the two methods, and to illustrate usage scenario of the delta volume in the turning STEP- NC system under development.

  • Dehaze is essential for autonomous driving and intelligent CCTV to operate normally even in foggy weather. The method of airlight estimation is particularly important in dehaze technology. In this paper, we propose a patch-based airlight estimation algorithm and hardware structure that can reduce the amount of unnecessary computation and effectively estimate the airlight in various input images. Proposed algorithm is compared with the popular quad-tree method, and the hardware design is implemented by using XILINX's xc7z045-ffg900 target board as a structure that can satisfy to international standard 4K video in real time.

  • Colin Rowe was an important historian, theorist and critic in Modern architecture. His significance in Modern architectural history lies in not only historiography which has changed our view of Modernism but deep theoretical involvement in practice. This study is a critical review and analysis on his formalist approach in Architecture. With a view that his position of formalist has indispensible relationship with liberalism from K. Popper's critical rationalism, this study try to show how his philosophical background has an influence upon his way of seeing architecture, history, form, urbanism, and meaning, etc. And this study also try to explain why the principle of architecture as an autonomous discipline which is the main point of view in Rowe's criticism has been so successful and influential. This study also explain what is the possibility and limitation of Rowe's formalist approach and way of reading buildings. His intelligent way of formal analysis can give us new understandings of how the form generates and the process of design goes on. Furthermore it guide us a new horizon of architecture as a language game. Since his early writings showed both side of formalist approach in architecture and it didn't changed a lot. We can understand his 'Collage City' was a his final answer to his formalist way of making architecture and urbanism. we can estemate it as a utopia without utopianism and an ideology without ideological color.

Development of Effective Stiffness and Effective Strength for a Truss-Wall Rectangular model combined with Micro-Lattice Truss (트러스 벽면과 미세격자 트러스로 구성된 정육면체 단위모델의 강성 및 강도 개발)

  • The objective in here is to find the density, stiffness, and strength of truss-wall rectangular (TWR) model which is combined with lattice truss (MLT) inside space. The TWR unit-cell model is defined as a unit cell originated from a solid-wall rectangular (SWR) model and it has an empty space inside. Thus, the empty space inside of the TWR is filled with lattice truss model defined as TWR-MLT. The ideal solutions derived of TWR-MLT are based on TWR with MLT model and it has developed by Gibson-Ashby's theory. To validate the ideal solutions of the TWR-MLT, ABAQUS software is applied to predict the density, strength, and stiffness, and then each of them are compared with the Gibson-Ashby's ideal solution as a log-log scale. Applied material property is stainless steel 304 because of cost effectiveness and easy to get around. For the analysis, SWR and TWR-MLT models are 1mm, 2mm, and 3mm truss diameter separately within a fixed 20mm opening width. In conclusion, the relative Young's modulus and relative yield strength of the TWR-MLT unit model is reasonably matched to the ideal expectations of the Gibson-Ashby's theory. In nearby future, TWR-MLT model can be verified by advanced technologies such as 3D printing skills.t.

Design on Yawing And Depth Controller And Analysis of Disturbance Characteristic about the AUV ISiMI (자율무인잠수정 이심이의 선수각 및 심도 제어기 설계와 외란 특성 분석)

  • In underwater environment, the control of AUV is difficult, because of the existence of parameter uncertainties and disturbances as well as highly nonlinear and coupled system dynamics. The requirement for the simple and robust controller which works satisfactorily in those dynamical uncertainties, call for a design using the PD or sliding mode controller. The PD controller is very popular controller in the industrial field and the sliding mode controller has been used successfully for the AUV controller design. In this paper, the two controllers arc designed for ISiMI(Integrated Submergible Intelligent Mission Implementation) AUV and the performances are compared by numerical simulation under the modeling uncertainty and disturbances. The design process of PD and sliding mode controller for ISiMI AUV and simulation results are included to compare the performances of the two controllers.
