AHP에 의한 한국자동차부품제조사의 제조성과기준의 중요도 평가 (An AHP Approach to Evaluate the priorities of Manufacturing Performance Criteria in Korean Automobile Parts Manufacturing Company)

  • The critical role played by manufacturing performance measurement systems in achieving competitive success is increasingly recognized. Developing an integrated performance measurement model is significant for strategic management. This study consist of several principal steps. Performance criteria from the literature and an questionnaire were utilized prior to building the performance model. The AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) is utilized to evaluate the weight of each criterion when generating the performance measurement model for Korea automobile parts manufacturing company. AHP analysis showed clear difference in the priority between 5 criteria and 24 sub-criteria in terms of manufacturing performance of Korean automobile parts manufacturing company. The result of priority evaluation in the 5 criteria of 2nd level was ranked quality, cost, delivery, employee, flexibility. And the critical sub-criteria in the 24 sub-criteria of 3rd level was ranked claim rate, process defect rate, outsourcing parts defect rate, ability to quality management innovation, claim cost, etc.

  • This paper focuses on a BOM(Bill of Materials) management problem for a small and medium manufacturing company that produce automobile parts. Automobile part's manufacturers produce various products due to various automobile characteristics such as types, colors, and the other options of car. These products are classified into product groups with common parts. And each product group is regarded as a product family. This paper proposes an efficient and effective EXCEL-based BOM management scheme using characteristics of the product family. And we have implemented the practical EXCEL-based BOM management system for real small and medium automobile part's manufacturing companies.

  • The quality and productivity in machining automobile parts are influenced by various factors such as cutting conditions, vibration, and used tool. To improve the quality and productivity of the automobile parts(torsion beam), lots of research on the evaluation of tool life and control of surface roughness has been required. Therefore, the width of flank wear, cutting force, and surface roughness are monitored to analyse the characteristics of tool wear and surface roughness at different tools. This experimental investigation is mainly focused on the characteristics of the tool wear, tool life and surface roughness in multi-insert milling of automobile parts(torsion beam) by using uncoated tungsten carbide tool(WC), TiN coated tool, and cermet tool.

반응고 성형된 자동차용 알루미늄 합금 부품의 기계적 강도 특성에 미치는 성형 결함의 영향 (The Effects of Forming Defects on the Mechanical Properties of Thixoformed Aluminum Parts for Automobile)

  • The thixoforming process become important for forming automobile parts. But, the thixoforming process cannot still prevent to forming defects such as pores and shrinkage which reduce mechanical properties of automobile parts. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the correlation between forming defects and mechanical properties. However, it is difficult to get data about relations between mechanical properties and forming defects in thixoformed aluminum alloy parts. In this study, three parts of aluminum thixoformed knuckle have been analyzed using tensile test and computer tomography(CT scan). Experimental results showed that the elongation properties of thixoformed aluminum parts were significantly dependent on size and number of forming defects.

국산 자동차 부품산업의 국제경쟁력 분석에 관한 연구 - 미국시장 수출 집중도 및 경쟁력을 중심으로 - (A Study on the International Competitiveness of Korean Auto Parts Industry - Focus on the Exporting Concentration and Competitiveness in U.S. Market -)

  • Korean auto mobile industry has been contributed to development on national economy for last 30 years. Especially, The fact is that latest increasement of Korean automobile selling is worthy of notice in U.S. market which is the biggest automobile market of the world. But development of automobile industry unattainable nothing of helping of auto parts industry. So, when we discuss about growth of automobile industry, we also have to consider role of auto parts industry at the same time. The purpose of this study was to analyze exporting competition of Korean auto parts in U.S. market by using Index of Export Bias and Market Comparative Advantage Index. For attaining the purpose of study, we classified the Korean auto parts which exported to U.S. market and the world by using the six units classification of the Harmonized System(HS). Also we measured Index of Export Bias and Market Comparative Advantage Index. Analyzing period was 1998-2004. The results of Index of Export Bias indicated that HS Code No. 8708.50, 8708.91 represented over 3 numerical value and 8708.92, 8708.60, 8708.39, 8708.29 represented over 2 numerical value. Additional results indicated that the Korean auto parts which gained exporting competition in the U.S. market were HS Code No. 8708.70, 8708.93, 8708.92. The products which will have exporting competition in the U.S. market would be HS Code No. 8708.99,

  • 지금까지 재 제조에 필요한 자동차 중고부품은 주로 정비업체에서 회수하여 사용하였으나, 회수체계가 정비되어 있지 않아 자동차 중고부품 수집에 많은 시간과 경비가 소요되었으며, 폐차업체에서 생산되는 많은 자동차 중고부품은 재 제조에 활용되지 못하고 있는 실정이다. 본 시스템은 폐차장, 정비업체 등에서 자동차 중고부품 정보를 입력하고, 재 제조업체에서는 이들 정보를 이용하여 재 제조에 필요한 자동차 중고부품을 회수할 수 있게 함으로써 자동차 중고부품 회수체계를 확립하고 자동차 중고부품의 안정적 수급 방안을 마련할 수 있도록 설계하였다. 본 시스템은 자동차 부품 재 제조에 필요한 자동차 중고부품을 수집 관리하기 위한 물류정보시스템으로 DISRMPA(Distribution Information System for Recovery and Management of used Parts of an Automobile)라고 부른다.

Technological Innovation and Multiple- and Single-Sourcing Policies In the Automobile Parts Trade

  • The single sourcing policy, in which an automobile manufacturer purchases identical or similar parts from one supplier, has an advantage of scale economy. Meanwhile, multiple sourcing policy, which allows procuring similar parts from multiple suppliers, has benefits of dispersing risks and promoting competition among suppliers. This paper analyzes the procurement policies by presenting a model of the Japanese automobile parts trade. It concludes that maturity of technology involved should be taken into account besides above-mentioned factors which have traditionally been recognized. For parts produced using evolving technologies, the single sourcing enhances purchaser’s benefits because of the scale economy in learning process. In the meantime, multiple sourcing is more beneficial to the purchaser if the parts are based on mature technologies. In either policy, if the technology involved is evolving, motivating suppliers by returning a great part of cost reduction as a reward to them may eventually increase profit for the purchaser. The conclusion supports the situation where the number of suppliers is being cut down as the trend of modularization and system deliveries of parts progresses in the auto parts industry, and suggests that returning part of benefits to parts suppliers may be encouraged from the viewpoint of auto manufacturers’ own interest.

  • The successful development of the automobile industry in Korea is the firstfruit of the epochmaking automobile policy in 1973: Top-Down mass production of Korean model cars. In Top-Down system, indigenous model, which is the most important and difficult part of the automobile industry, is devised first, followed by the mass production of the major parts, such as bodies, engines, etc. This system is in contrast to the prevailing Bottom-up system in the third-world, which assembles automobiles by gradually adding up simple domestic parts. The Government, faced with a vicious circle of depen- dence on assembly of foreign cars, high prices, small demand and low production, decided it was time to move to the mass production of the indigenous models. It was hoped that the efficiencies of low cost Korean models would be epochally improved by overcoming the sway of foreign models and by strengthening the production capabilities of the main parts. In contrast to these develop- ment planning, assembled vehicles numbered only 26,300 units in 1973. In the year of 1995, the total number of automobile production have already passed 2,534,000. As steady growth in worldwide demand is forecast, Korea will able to play a major role as an important automobile maker of the next century.

완성차조립 부품공급의 지역적 물류체계 (Regional Physical Distribution Systems of Parts Supply for Automobile Assembly in Korea)

  • 1990년대 후반 이후 완성차 메이커의 구조조정, 외국 부품공급업체의 국내진출, 글로벌 차원에서의 부품조달, 산업의 IT화에 따른 개방적 부품 조달체계의 확산, 그리고 모듈화 등이 수직적인 부품조달체계를 완화시키는 요인으로 작용하고 있다. 이와 같은 완성차 생산의 내외 환경변화에 따라 본 연구에서는 완성차 조립공장에 1차 공급업체와 모듈기업이 공급하는 부품의 지역적 물류체계가 어떻게 이루어지고 있는가를 밝히는 것을 목적으로 기존문헌 및 인터뷰 조사를 실시했다. 그 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 완성차 부품공급의 지역적 물류체계는 완성차 조립공장을 중심으로 공장 내에나 인접지역에 모듈공장이 입지하는데, 1차 공급업체의 부품은 근접권에서 살펴본 바와 같이 공급의 분산비율이 비교적 높게 나타나 JIT의 다빈도 소량배송보다는 자동차 조립공장 인근에 통합물류센터를 설치해 부품을 공급하고 여기에서 다시 조립공장에 납품을 한다. 이렇게 함 으로서 부품공급업체나 조립공장 모두에게 배송비용을 줄여주고 부품의 안정적인 공급이 이루어지기 때문에 중층적인 모듈 반제품을 위한 부품공급도 이와 같은 방식을 취한다.
