상변환 응용 경량 Suspension 부품의 정적/동적 유한요소해석 (Static/Dynamic Finite Element Analysis of Lightweight Suspension Part Fabricated by Application of phase Change Process)

  • In the field of automobile industry, lightweight problems are very important in terms of reducing fuel and protecting environment. To satisfy these demands, the attempt to substitute aluminum automobile components for cast steel part has been actively carried out. To fabricate the aluminum automobile suspension part that has the same mechanical properties with cast steel part, design conditions such as shape and dimension of part shall be established. Therefore in this study, shape and dimension conditions of suspension part were proposed. Aluminum automobile suspension part was fabricated by semi-solid die-casting process under the obtained design conditions. Moreover to evaluate the possibility of application to the automobile component, stress and fatigue analysis were performed by using ABAQUS S/W and compared with those of conventional automobile suspension part.

SMOOTHING METHOD OF AUTO-BODY PART CONTOUR FOR THE DIE-FACE DESIGN SYSTEM BASED ON THE CAE PLATFORM

  • The method of die-face design based on the CAE platform for automobile panels can fast modify the die addendum. In contrast with the process of the die-face design based on the CAD platform, there are some special steps for the die-face design based on the CAE platform. The most obvious difference is that the auto-body part contour needs smoothing arlier than the design of addendum surfaces does. It is helpful to improve the design quality of addendum surface. In spite of extensive researches on the smoothing technique, here is still dearth of the published solutions about smoothing the part contour with additional surface. This paper attempts to analyze the difficulties and provides practical solutions. Main results include the algorithm to calculate the segments needing to be smoothed on boundary, the strategy to create the smoothing curve and the procedure of surface generation. The relevant function modules for parametric design are developed. A few examples and suggestions for future work conclude the paper.

  • 현재 대부분의 자동차 부품 제조업체에서는 자동차 부품개발 및 구매, 생산 관리 등에 어려움을 격고 있으며, 자동차 부품의 신규 개발 및 설계 변경 시 신규 등록 및 이력 관리에 어려움이 있다. 이에 따라 여러 가지 부품에 대한 자동화된 이력관리와 부품의 데이터베이스 구축에 대한 필요성을 절실히 느끼고 있는 상항이다. 이에 본 논문은 자동차 제조 부품관련 데이터 검색과 실시간 생산통합관리 시스템 개발을 위한 설계를 목적으로 한다. 설계 데이터 변경에 대한 자재변경과정을 입력함으로써 자동적으로 데이터 갱신이 이루어질 수 있도록 하였고, 부품에 대한 품명, 품번을 입력하면 관련 부품 이력정보의 통합관리가 가능하도록 하였다.

  • 자동차부품산업에 속한 대부분의 기업은 완성차 조립을 위한 공급기업과의 협력에 있어 공급사슬관리시스템을 필요로 하고 있다. 자동차부품산업은 1차, 2차, 3차 공급업체와 같은 계층적 구조의 산업 특성을 가지고 있다. 최근 RFID 기술을 적용한 새로운 구현사례가 통합된 정보시스템 구현이 요구되는 다양한 영역에서 나타나고 있다. 특히 자동차부품산업의 공급사슬환경은 유비쿼터스환경으로 전환되고 있다. 자동차부품산업에 속한 대부분의 기업은 비즈니스 프로세스의 단축, 거래정보의 공유, 그리고 거래당사자간의 협업관계를 증진하기 위해 RFID기반의 공급사슬관리 구현에 관심이 높다. 본 연구는 제품의 입고, 출고, 재고관리와 같은 자동차부품산업의 물류분야에 RFID 기술을 구현하고자 한다. 연구의 목적은 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅환경에서 u-SCM 시스템에 적용된 RFID를 활용하여 공급사슬네트워크의 협업관계를 증진하기 위한 것이다. 본 논문의 기여는 UML 기법을 적용하여 RFID기반의 SCM 시스템을 설계하고 구현함으로써 기존 프로세스를 새로운 프로세스로 전환하는 새로운 시스템 접근방안을 제안하는 것이다.

  • In accordance with the trend for cooperation of related company, BOM (Bill of Materials) has become an important factor in the manufacturing of production. BOM manages a various basic information of design, production, and process and so on. Especially, automobile industries are related to many company, they build a cooperative system from the communication of information. In this study, we have analyzed a BOM structure of a well-used automobile part industry and proposed a structure of engineering BOM, manufacturing BOM, process BOM for cooperative environment. A proposed various BOM structure are flexible in responding to the situation of structure alternations for automobile part. And also they include in environment factors. It is expected that these BOM structure will be used to basic template in automobile part industry which could be loaded with cooperative hub-system.

  • Recently, in order to reduce the time required to replace an optical jumper cord, many researchers are using a field-installable connector and applying the ferrule polishing method, ferrule mechanical contact method, or ferrule fusion contact method. However, the process of arranging the length of the optical fiber, i.e., inserting the optical fiber into the ferrule by hand and checking its cross section, takes 60% of the time required for the entire process, which increases the overall cost. Therefore, in order to make this task more cost-effective, we will develop an automated inspection system with automatic cross-sectional arrangement of a field-installable connector. This system will be able to decrease the failure rate from 10% to 2% compared with the conventional method when cutting the optical fiber inserted into the ferrule. It will also improve the productivity by decreasing the test time by 28% compared with the conventional method. Our studies showed that it was possible to reduce the production costs and improve the quality of a field-installable connector, and we expect it to dominate the market.

Visualizing sphere-contacting areas on automobile parts for ECE inspection

  • To satisfy safety regulations of Economic Commission for Europe (ECE), the surface regions of automobile parts must have a sufficient degree of roundness if there is any chance that they could contact a sphere of 50.0 mm radius (exterior parts) or 82.5 mm radius (interior parts). In this paper, a new offset-based method is developed to automatically detect the possible sphere-contacting shape of such parts. A polyhedral model that precisely approximates the part shape is given as input, and the offset shape of the model is obtained as the Boolean union of the expanded shapes of all surface triangles. We adopt a triple-dexel representation of the 3D model to enable stable and precise Boolean union computations. To accelerate the dexel operations in these Boolean computations, a new parallel processing method with a pseudo-list structure and axis-aligned bounding box is developed. The possible sphere-contacting shape of the part surface is then extracted from the offset shape as a set of points or a set of polygons.

  • This paper introduces the development of design capabilities for air cylinders and jig bases in a three-dimensional jig design system for automobile body assembly. We first built the standard part library for these parts, and then developed the dedicated 3D design capabilities based on the Unigraphics system. By using this 3-D jig design system, design can be performed more intuitively, and verification and simulation of design results can be done more easily as the 3-D design result can be used readily for virtual manufacturing simulation.

  • Recently an automobile industry is concerned about an automobile wiring harness system. It means that development of component modules is on the increase. An importance of the connector in one part of the modules will be enhanced. A connector is made of P.B.T. (Poly Butylene Terephthalate). PBT is resistant to the high temperature. This paper deals with thermal strain of connector. According as temperature increase, effects of the temperature and thermal strains give an analysis of the deformation using ABAQUS. This apparent thermal strain results actually from the variation of temperature. Being based on this analysis, axiomatic design applies to design parameters of the connector. As compared with CAE analysis, a performance improvement makes certain of the truth of the matter.

  • This paper presents atomization characteristics of a double impinging F -0-0- F type injector with four streams. A phase Doppler particle analyzer was employed to measure the droplet-size and water was used as the inert simulant liquid instead of reactive propellant liquids. The droplet mean diameter (SMD) and size distribution were measured to investigate the effects of the momentum ratio and pressure drop variations. This experimental results can be used during the preliminary design stage of a impinging stream type injector for liquid rockets.
