As social and economic environments rapidly change, all enterprises are struggling for the 21C. K company, a motor company, is building a new production system by one way of paradigm shift to get the competitive power in the market. This system includes concepts of the thinking shift from maker's view to consumers' view when it makes cars. Simultaneously, K company has been applying another new method 'Interchanges of Different Section of Industry' to make more competitive vendors since 1996. The old method, used until 1995, had worked well and gained lots of effects during the reform activities. But after the technical supervisors from K company had left almost everything went back to the starting point in the vendor company. The major causes of this phenomenon are that there were no ‘structure’ to maintain the reforming activities. We have confirmed that ‘Interchanges of Different Section of Industry’ is a good way to let this ‘structure’ exist continuously. After we compared and analyzed merits or demerits of this system through the experience of applying it to a vendor C, we have suggested more progressive method by strengthening the merits and removing the demerits.
Purpose: This study would measure the users'perceived overall quality level of A automobile Company, which has leading market power in the domestic automobile market and analyze the causal relationships in the quality value process Model to quality capability, customer value and loyalty based on that. Especially, this study would analyze the relative impacts of the users'perceived risks appearing in the quality value process model of the formation of Quality Factors(QF), Customer Value(CV), and Customer Loyalty(CL) and analyze the moderating effect of the causal relationships among the components. Methods: For an analysis of causal relationships connected to QF, CV, and CL of the customers who purchased Auto manufacturer A's automobile users, 179 users who used within 3 years were utilized as samples for the analysis. As for QF, based on the Garvin(1988), the QF of automobiles were redesigned. For a structural equation analysis of the entire research model, the PLS(S(Partial Least Square) model was utilized. Results: As a result of an analysis, R2 of CV and CL was 0.652 for CV and 0.664 for CL, which was a very stable Goodness of fit. As a result of an analysis of the hypotheses of QF and CV, automobile performance, conformance, aesthetics, serviceability, and durability. In addition, it turned out that the perceived risk had a moderating effect on convenience, service availability, and perceived quality. Conclusion: This study found that the perceived quality risk appearing among automobile users had negative effects on the quality value process model to QF, CV and CL. In contrast, there were factors not affecting the users'quality value process in spite of the perceived risk. These factors can suggest important managerial implications in that they can be utilized as Auto manufacturer A's market-dominant strengths.
Traceability is essential in modern automotive manufacturing. Among existing technologies, RFID is the most promising choice for this purpose. However, due to the harsh conditions of production lines, especially in the paint shop, automobile OEMs would require expensive dedicated RFID tags and readers, which are incompatible with standard RFID technologies. Unlike the manufacturing industry, the logistics industry uses UHF label tags for track and trace, which provides high performance and a low price. Recently, this technology has improved to the extent that it can be used in harsh conditions such as on metal parts or in liquid. Herein, we assess the technical, operational, and economic feasibility of UHF label-tag technology for seamless end-toend traceability. Based on prototyping, lab/field tests, and cost-benefit analysis, we have proven that the single disposable UHF tags can successfully replace the problematic and expensive tags used in most domestic automobile OEMs today.
It is possible to shorten developing process by making model using polyurethane foam in the area of automobile development process, etc. However, this skill is too difficult to be of practical use because machining is not easy due to characteristic of polyurethane foam. Domestic and foreign automobile company use clay, polyurethane foam. etc,, those are easy to handle and to make model after completing design sketch. But these materials is difficult to the machined and be worked by humans hand, There are so many difficult problem for machining by making model using polyurethane foam since cutting of elastic body like polyurethan foam has never been studied. Therefore, in this study, it is investigated to measured cutting force that is generated in case of polyurethane foam machining, and to make systematize tool compensation of polyurethane foam cutting work on automobile model by modification of tool offset method on existing steel.
In the manufacture of automobile suspension modules at a company as parts supplier, the design process includes the detail design and the design modification via structural and fatigue durability analyses considering PoF(physics of failure) of their weldments that are repeated more than four times sequentially. The approval of the design and the release of final drawings follows. For the suspension modules, e.g. control arms and cross member, the man-hours per worker required in the process outlined above can reach as high as 1,414hours. Application of the developed integrated design system can reduce the man-hours of 1,004. In comparison with the conventional design process, this integrated design system reduces the required time by about 40%. If expense is taken into account, a savings of approximately $192,000 is estimated, assuming the design process accounts for 1.5% of total sales for the parts supplier
This research focuses on the condition of the coveralls that automobile maintenance workers wear. The objective of this survey is to conduct a thorough analysis on the quality of the coveralls and put forth suggestions for improving their quality. The research data were collected through interviews and the results are as follows. The participants in this research engage in a variety of types of maintenance work including oil changes and overall system checks and they usually wear extra-large-sized coveralls. The coveralls are generally worn during the winter for warmth and the company handles all purchasing and maintenance of the work clothes. Participants mentioned that certain parts of the clothes where they bend and stretch are cumbersome and areas around the knees and arms become easily tainted. They have also reported that although the coveralls are necessary, they are for the most part dissatisfied when it comes to the materials, design, and color. The participants have suggested that new coveralls would help to increase their work efficiency. As a result, it is concluded that the coveralls require much more development to meet the workers' needs and improvements need to be made on the functionality, aesthetics, and symbolic aspects of the design.
According to the analysis of special medical examination and work environment monitoring data, the rate of C1 and D1 on noise hazard exceeded 90% among those of total hazardous factors. The rate of company exceeding noise exposure limit was also more than 90%. The analysis result shows that main ages diagnosed with C1 and D1 was age of 50s. The majority scale company having workers diagnosed with C1 and D1 was the companies employing 5~49 workers. Types of industries which have a large number of companies exceeding noise exposure limit were automobile and trailer manufacturing, metal processing industry and primary metal manufacturing. A large number of work processes exceeding noise exposure limit were forming and processing work, cutting and bending work and grinding. To reduce the number of company exceeding noise exposure limit, the reduction counterplan should be focused on the type of industry and the work process which exceeded noise exposure limit frequently. However, the reduction counterplan is preemptively necessary to the type of industry and the work process which exceeded noise exposure limit consecutively if the purpose of reduction counterplan is not to merely reduce the number of company exceeding noise exposure limit but to abate workers' suffering from noise.
Composite material is recently very important material for eco-friendly vehicles because of its excellent mechanical property and lightweight effect. So, many research results have been recently published for developing the composite material to apply vehicles. In this paper, new brake system is presented using composite material to response this situation. And advantages in terms of performance compared to competitive company will be discussed in depth to verify superiorities of the new composite brake. To do so, composite brake systems which have the same size as the competitive company to the same vehicle is applied. And superiorities through a variety of test results are presented. First, normal braking performances are compared with competitive company through braking effect, heat capacity and friction test, Second, circuit driving and high speed fade test are also verified with competitive company to confirm harsh braking performances for the new composite brake system. Finally, the effects of applying the composite brake to automobile industry like electric car are analyzed.
It is necessary to consider the stability, economic environmental-friendly problems by the development of the road, supply of the automobile, environmental problem as designing the exhaust system. To reduce the noise and the vibration of the automobile. The need for stricter regulation limits emission and demand for lower fuel comsumption. According to motor vehicle company develop variable type muffler, dual muffler and active intelligence exhaust system unit. Improvement in engine performance and fuel consumption for demand information of pressure fraction and heat characteristics. To be able to determine these factor for we experiment on each case of exhaust system unit. In this study, in order to establish the optimized conditions design factors which are taking many performance as the variable valve, it shows how the standard performance and the additional element of the exhaust system effects on the engine performance.
In this paper, we studied low cycle fatigue behavior of laser welded sheet metal that used automobile body panel. Specimens were manufactured as weld condition and sheet metal using automobile manufacturing company at present. For to know mechanical properties, micro Vicker's hardness test was performed of specimens. But, we can't confirm mechanical properties of weld bead and heat affected zone because laser weld makes very narrow weld bead and heat affected zone than other welding method. Therefore, we performed low cycle fatigue test with similar weldment, dissimilar weldment, similar thickness and dissimilar weldment, and dissimilar thickness and dissimilar weldment for fatigue properties of thickness and welding direction. As well, we analysis stress distribution of base metal, weld bead, and heat affected zone according to strain load using finite element method.
