  • This research deals with the analysis and design of a driving mechanism for an automatic pneumatic drug injector, which can precisely control the injection volume using a relatively simple friction-driven mechanism, without any complicated control system. Through a dynamic analysis, the effects of the design parameters of the driving mechanism associated with the geometry, spring stiffness, and fiction are analyzed, and the results are reflected in a proto-type drug injector design, which is under development for mass production. A test is performed to assess the durability of the mechanism for up to one million operations, and comparison of its displacement after one million operations, verifies the mechanism's durability.

  • In Growth Hormone (GH) therapy, suboptimal adherence is a common problem, reaching up to 82%, and there is a need for interventions to improve adherence and to maximize patients' growth potential eventually. Current studies have demonstrated the association between the rate of non-adherence and reduced height velocity. In order to maximize patients' potential to grow, an auto-injecting/recording device, such as $easypod^{TM}$, may help improve adherence and optimize the treatment effects of GH therapy. The use of $easypod^{TM}$ has contributed to high adherence rates: 87.5% and 93% in Bozzola et al.'s study and the $Easypod^{TM}$ Connect Observational study (ECOS), respectively. Improvement of adherence by $easypod^{TM}$ may lead to higher growth rates of patients receiving GH therapy. Additionally, patients' positive acceptability of $easypod^{TM}$ suggests $easypod^{TM}$ is a preferred device by patients for better adherence.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop basic technology of hybrid rocket vehicle by constructed and launched. This small hybrid rocket using HDPE/LN2O and Aluminium steel for its body (weight : 12.5 kg, diameter : 114 mm, height : 1.8 m) was designed. The fuel grain and injector were designed for 50 kgf thrust and burning time 2.5 sec. This rocket was loaded the data acquisition device for obtaining data of pressure and velocity during its flying and equiped an automatic ejector system using spring/motor and timer to collect the rocket more safely after launching. It was launched successfully, but found some problem that the rocket's weight was heavier than expected and the thrust was not enough to reach the designed altitude and analyzed its flight path way.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the degree of tearing of the rubber when the spike of the syringe connector was connected to the bottle of the contrast medium composed of the rubber compound type and to investigate the presence of the synthetic rubber due to tearing and grinding and the size of the pulverized product when the pulverized matters rubber was detected. As a result, in the case of tearing degree, the front side of the first contact with the end of the syringe connector was torn more than the back side by about $3.14{\pm}0.04mm$, and the pulverized matters was detected on average 7 to 15 on the 10 contrast mediums. The average particle size was measured to be about $7.89{\pm}0.31{\mu}m$. In addition, it is necessary to develop a micro_filter type automatic injection system for blocking off the pulverized matters as well as additional experiments through various experiments and analysis methods, and it is considered that interest of related organizations will be needed in preparation of fatal accidents when pulverized matters is introduced.
