Automatic guided vehicle in the factory has an important role to advance the flexible manufacturing system. In this paper, we propose a novel object-transportation control algorithm of cooperative AGV systems to apply decentralized control to multiple AGV systems. Each AGV system is under nonholonomic constraints and conveys a common object-transportation in a horizontal plain. Moreover it is shown that cooperative robot systems ensure stability and the velocities of augmented systems convergence to a scaled multiple of each desired velocity field for cooperative AGV systems. Finally, the application of proposed virtual passivity-based decentralized control algorithm via system augmentation is applied to trace a circle. Finally, the simulation and experimental results for the object-transportation by two AGV systems illustrates the validity of the proposed virtual-passivity decentralized control algorithm.
In this paper, a stochastic approach based on a Monte Carlo simulation method for the design of a guidance and control (G & C) system of an automatic landing flight experiment (ALFLEX) vehicle is presented. The aim of this study is to design a G & C system robust against uncertainties in the vehicular dynamics. In this study, uncertain parameters and disturbances are treated as random variables in the Monte Carlo simulation. Then, some controller gains in the G & C system are tuned to satisfy conditions concerning the states at touchdown. The proposed method was applied to the ALFLEX vehicle. The simulation results shored the effectiveness of the present approach.

This paper provides a basic study on automatic of a trailer type vehicle which consists of two parts such as a tractor and a trailer Backward moving and parking control is very important to automate this type of vehicle. However it is very difficult to control such their motion since a trailer type vehicle is a non-holonomic system. Therefore in this paper we propose the backward path tracking control algorithm for a trailer type vehicle. And also this paper presents the results of simulation to verify the effectiveness of the proposed control algorithm.
CAN communication can minimize the interfacing lines between equipments because it is composed of only the input and output lines, also is used for automatic system including vehicle, aircraft, railway vehicles and robot because the reliability of data is high by the capability of data-related error detect and correcting function. It can also improve the low-reliable and inefficient system which is composed of the existing Wiring Harness(W/H), so in case of vehicle, it is used in place of the present ECU as the new electro-control unit. In this paper, we constructed the electro-control unit of vehicle by using CAN communication and implemented system that could monitor the condition of vehicle through the web or mobile by connecting the electro-control unit to imbedded system. Such a system is expected to be helpful to the intelligent vehicle and the adoption of ACC(Adaptive Cruise Control).

In this paper, we describe a vision sensor-based driving algorithm for indoor automatic guided vehicles (AGVs) that facilitates a path tracking task using two mono cameras for navigation. One camera is mounted on vehicle to observe the environment and to detect markers in front of the vehicle. The other camera is attached so the view is perpendicular to the floor, which compensates for the distance between the wheels and markers. The angle and distance from the center of the two wheels to the center of marker are also obtained using these two cameras. We propose five movement patterns for AGVs to guarantee smooth performance during path tracking: starting, moving straight, pre-turning, left/right turning, and stopping. This driving algorithm based on two vision sensors gives greater flexibility to AGVs, including easy layout change, autonomy, and even economy. The algorithm was validated in an experiment using a two-wheeled mobile robot.
One of the causes of malfunction of commercial vehicle is corrosion or wear. In order to prevent corrosion and wear, lubricants have to be supplied periodically. However, the period of lubrication usually depends on operator's judgment. If the period is too short, excess lubricant will cause pollution and unnecessary expenses, where as long periodic supply of lubricant might cause wear, damage and eventual breakdown. Therefore, an automatic lubrication system with predetermined interval will reduce the excessive supply of lubricating oil and prevent wear and damage. This thesis presents an automatic lubrication system which consists of a lubricant pump and an embedded controller. An automatic lubrication operating algorithm is used to operate the lubricant pump and feedback the pressure status of the system using pressure sensors. The developed system shows an efficient periodic supply of lubricant.
This paper presents a consequence of the systematic approach to identify the aerodynamic parameters of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) equipped with the automatic flight control system. A 3-2-1-1 excitation is applied for the longitudinal mode while a multi-step input is applied for lateral/directional excitation. Optimal time step for excitation is sought to provide the broad input bandwidth. A fully automated programmed flight test method provides high-quality flight data for system identification using the flight control computer with longitudinal and lateral/directional autopilots, which enable the separation of each motion during the flight test. The accuracy of the longitudinal system identification is improved by an additional use of the closed-loop flight test data. A constrained optimization scheme is applied to estimate the aerodynamic coefficients that best describe the time response of the vehicle. An appropriate weighting function is introduced to balance the flight modes. As a result, concurrent system models are obtained for a wide envelope of both longitudinal and lateral/directional flight maneuvers while maintaining the physical meanings of each parameter.
To design an automatic steering controller with high performance for autonomous vehicle, it is necessary to have a precise model of the lateral dynamics with respect to the steering command input. This paper presents an empirical modeling of the steering system for an autonomous vehicle. The steering system here is represented by three individual transfer function models: a steering wheel actuator model from the steering command input to the steering angle of the shaft, a dynamic model between the steering angle and the yaw rate of the vehicle, and a dynamic model between the steering command and the lateral deviation of vehicle. These models are identified using frequency response data. Experiments were performed using a real vehicle. It is shown that the resulting identified models have been well fitted to the experimental data.
Hardware in the Loop Simulation(HILS)을 통하여 GPS 출력주파수에 따른 성능을 확인하였다. 마지막으로 무인표적기에 자동비행시스템과 항법시스템을 장착하여 비행시험을 수행하였으며, 설계된 항법시스템 성능을 비행시험 결과를 통하여 확인하였다.
In Advanced Vehicle Control System(AVCS), Autonomous Intelligent Cruise Control(AICC) is generally understood to be a system that can be achieved in the near future without the demanding infrastructure components and technoloties. AICC is an automatic vehicle following system with no human engagement in the longitudinal vehicle direction. This paper presents a fuzzy control algorithm to develop the AICC system. The control performance was studied information of vehicles using computer simulations. The most improtant aspects of the work reported here are the adoption of the fuzzy adaptive control law, and the use of filtering concept to reduce the slinky effects that may appear in a formation of vehicles equipped with AICC systems. The simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the fuzzy adaptive AICC system and its beneficial effects on traffic flow.
