MPEG-7에 기반한 동영상 데이터베이스 (The MPEG-7 based Video Database)

  • 동영상 데이터베이스 시스템을 구축하려면 동영상의 샷 경계 검출이 먼저 이루어져야 한다. 그러나 이 과정이 자동화되지 않아 많은 시간과 노력이 필요하다. 샷 경계 검출 알고리즘은 많이 연구되고 있으나 영상 편집시 사용된 편집 효과의 발전에 의하여 완벽한 검출은 매우 어려운 실정이다. 따라서 정확한 샷 경계를 얻기 위해서는 수작업에 의한 검증과 수정이 꼭 필요하다. 시공간 슬라이스는 영상의 내용 변화를 요약한 한 장의 이미지이다. 편집 효과는 수직선, 사선, 곡선, 점진적 색상의 변화 등 시각적으로 인지 가능한 형태로 시공간 슬라이스에 표현된다. 따라서 영상을 재생시키지 않고도 시공간 슬라이스의 변화만으로 샷 경계를 쉽고 빠르게 찾아낼 수 있다. 이 논문에서 제안하고 구현한 시스템은 시공간 슬라이스 상에서 오검출 키 프레임을 삭제할 수 있으며 미검출 된 키 프레임을 생성할 수 있도록 하였다.

  • In manufacturing companies, different types of production have been developed based on diverse production strategies and differentiated technologies. The production systems have become smart, factories are filled with unmanned manufacturing lines, and sustainable manufacturing technologies are under development. Nowadays, the digital manufacturing technology is being adopted and used in manufacturing industries. When this technology is applied, a lot of efforts, time and cost are required and training professionals in-house is limited. In this paper, we introduce e-FEED system (electronic based Front End Engineering and Design) that is the integrated design and analysis system for optimized manufacturing line development on virtual environment. This system provides the functions that can be designed easily using library and template based on standardized modules and analyzed automatically the logistic and capacity simulation by one-click and verified the result using visual reports. Also, we can review the factory layout using automatically created 3D virtual factory and increase the knowledge reuse by e-FEED system.

A Look-Ahead Routing Procedure in an FMS

  • Many dispatching rules have been developed for the on-line control of product flow in a job shop. The introduction of a flexible manufacturing system (FMS) has added a new requirement to classical job shop control problem : the selection of machines by parts of different types. An FMS can keep a great deal of information on the status of the system, such as information on what is scheduled in the near future, with great accuracy. For example, the knowledge of the time when the next part will arrive at each machine can be neneficial for the routing. This paper tests the effects of the use of this knowledge for part routing on the parts flow time (sum of the time for waiting and service) under a simple routing procedure- a look-ahead routing procedure. A test under many operating conditions shows that the reduction of part flow time from the cases without using this information is between 1% and 11%, which justifies more study on this routing procedure at real production sites when machine capacity is a critical issue. The test results of this paper are also valid for other highly automated systems such as the semi-conductor fabrication plants for routing when the arrivals of parts in the near future are known.

닥 펄프 제조공정 자동화에 따른 단위공정 폐수의 특성 (Characteristics of wastewater from unit systems of automative process for manufacture of paper mulberry pulp fibers)

  • Paper mulberry fibers have been used as fibrous raw materials for manufacturing traditional handmade paper, hanji for a long time. Compared to wood pulp fibers, pulp fibers from mulberry bast tissue have some benefits in physical and chemical properties due to their high D.P (degree of polymerization), M.W (molecule weight) and long fiber length. Specially, Korean handmade hanji shows outstanding characteristics in mechanical tensile strength, folding endurance, flexibility and long sustainable conservation properties. Therefore, hanji is widely applied to daily supplies, hygienic goods, medical supplies, clothing industries and so on. Recently, the potential demand of mulberry pulp fibers is more and more increased on the strength of high application fields. This study was focused on the possibility of wastewater recycling in unit operation systems for the development of automated mass production line. The properties and environmental loads of wastewater from debarking, cooking, bleaching and screening process were analyzed by means of COD, conductivity, turbidity and solid materials. The wastewater from debarking and cooking process was comparatively high in pollution load, and would be treated by additional approaches of chemico-physical method.

TOPSIS와 콤플렉스법에 의한 사출성형품의 다속성 강건설계 (Robust Design for Multiple Quality Attributes in Injection Molded Parts by the TOPSIS and Complex Method)

  • An automated injection molding design methodology has been developed to optimize multiple quality attributes, which are usually in conflict with each other, in injection molded parts. For the optimization, commercial CAE simulation tools and optimization techniques are integrated into the methodology. To decal with the multiple objective problem the relative closeness computed in TOPSIS(Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution) is used as a performance measurement index for optimization multiple part defects. To attain robustness against process variation, Taguchi's quadratic loss function is introduced in the TOPSIS. Also, the modified complex method is used as an optimization tool to optimize objective function. The verification of the developed design methodology was carried out on simulation software with an actual model. Applied to production this methodology will be useful to companies in reducing their product development time and enhancing their product quality.

  • The research described here was undertaken with the aim of monitoring, optimizing and ultimately controlling the production of heterofermentative microbes used as starters in the salami industry. The use of starter cultures in the fermented meats industry is a well-established technique used to shorten and standardize the ripening process, and to improve and control the organoleptic quality of the final product. Starter cultures are obtained by the submerged cultivation of suitable microorganisms in stirred, and sometimes aerated, fermenters where monitoring of key physiological parameters such as the concentration of biomass, substrates and metabolites suffers from the general lack of real-time measurement techniques applicable to aseptic processes. In this respect, the results of the present work are relevant to all submerged fermentation processes. Previous work on the application of on-line NIR spectroscopy to the lactic acid fermentation (Dosi et al. - Monreal NIR1995) had successfully used a system based on a measuring cell included in a circulation loop external to the fermenter. The fluid handling and sterility problems inherent in an external circulation system prompted us to explore the use of an in-line system where the NIR probe is immersed in the culture and is thus exposed to the hydrodynamic conditions of the stirred and aerated fluid. Aeration was expected to be a potential source of problems in view of the possible interference of air bubbles with the measurement device. The experimental set-up was based on an in-situ sterilizable NIR probe connected to the instrument by means of an optical fiber bundle. Preliminary work was carried out to identify and control potential interferences with the measurement, in particular the varying hydrodynamic conditions prevailing at the probe tip. We were successful in defining the operating conditions of the fermenter and the geometrical parameters of the probe (flow path, positioning, etc.) were the NIR readings were reliable and reproducible. The system thus defined was then used to construct and validate calibration curves for tile concentration of biomass, carbon source and major metabolites of two different microorganisms used as salami starters. Real-time measurement of such parameters coupled with the direct interfacing of the NIR instrument with the PC-based measurement and control system of the fermenter enabled the development of automated strategies for the interactive optimization of the starter production process.

The Digital Mock-Up Information System for New Car Development

  • Since Chrysler Motor Co. had experienced the digital development system in the beginning of 1990's, most of leading automobile companies are trying to apply a digital information system for their own business process reengineering based upon concurrent engineering system from product planning phase. This is called as virtual DMU(Digital Mock-Up) system instead of the traditional PMU(Physical Mock-Up) system. By using the virtual prototype, all of the design requirements and system specifications can be checked, changed and optimized more quickly and more efficiently. This paper consists of five chapters for the DMU information system. In the 1$^{st}$ chapter, the principle of digital design system is suggested by using four basic modules such as product design module, process design module, manufacturing system design module and central control module. The basic scheme of DMU is introduced with the benefits of application in the chapter 2. In the chapter 3, a digital design process of new car development is explained with the detailed DMU design and design review processes. In the chapter 4, the practical DMU manufacturing techniques and applications are introduced as CAD/CAM analyses, DPA(Digital Pre-Assembly)reviews for development, production, operation and maintenance phases, digital tolerance analyses and digital factory analyses for assembling line simulation, automated robot welding processes, production jig & fixtures and painting process simulation. Finally, the activities of digital design support; CAS-styling, CAE-engineering and CAT-testing are summarized for design optimization in the chapter 5. As today's automobile manufactures and related business organizations are struggling to compete in the global marketplace, they are concentrating on efficient use of DMU information system to reduce the new car development cost, to have shorten the delivery schedule and to improve product design quality. To meet the demand of those automobile industries on digital information systems, the CALS(Computer aided Acquisition and Logistics Support) and EC(Electronic Commerce)initiative has been focused as a dominant philosophy in defense & commercial industries, specially automobile industries.s.

멀티카메라 비전시스템을 위한 산업용 PC와 PLC간 제어 방법 개발 (The implementation of interface between industrial PC and PLC for multi-camera vision systems)

  • 머신비전은 고속화된 자동화 생산 시스템의 품질 검사 방법으로 널리 활용되어 왔다. 본 연구에서는 멀티카메라를 사용하여 PC와 PLC 간 제어를 통해 용접부위의 치수를 실시간으로 측정하여 검사하는 머신비전 시스템을 개발하였다. 제안한 검사시스템은 맞대기 용접부위의 길이와 폭을 측정하여 용접부의 치수 균일성을 검사하도록 설계하였다. 광학계 및 물류는 병렬제어를 위해 PC와 PLC 간 TCP/IP 멀티쓰레딩 통신기법을 적용하였다. 금속재료의 반사 특성을 고려하여 용접비드의 형태나 용접시 발생하는 그을음에도 균일하게 검사부위의 영상획득이 가능한 동축조명계를 적용하였고, 검사 알고리즘은 OpenCV 라이브러리를 사용하여 용접치수검사에 맞게 개발하였다. 제작한 시스템을 실제 전자부품의 용접 자동화 라인에 설치하여 시스템의 작동오류 및 검사 성능을 검증한 결과, 요구되는 기능 및 검사 성능을 모두 성공적으로 수행하였다.

볼밸브용 볼의 OLP 기반 로봇육성용접 시스템 구현에 관한 연구 (A Study on Implementation of Robot Overlay Welding System Based on OLP for Ball of Ball Valves)

  • 최근 해양, 석유화학 플랜트 등에서는 내마모, 내식성, 내열성이 요구되는 초내열 합금이 기본적인 구조재료로 많이 사용되고 있다. 하지만 고가의 초내열 합금 소재로 밸브를 제작할 때 원가 상승과 가격 경쟁력 저하의 원인이 되고 있다. 이에 유체에 흐르는 특정부위만 육성 용접하는 기술이 효과적인 방법으로 사용되고 있다. 하지만 기존의 볼 육성용접의 경우 사람이 직접 수동으로 작업을 진행하기 때문에 많은 시간이 소요되고 정확한 용접하기 어렵다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 볼 밸브용 볼 육성용접을 균일하게 할 수 있는 로봇자동화 시스템을 개발하였다. 이 시스템은 용접토치를 장착한 용접용 로봇 6축, 포지셔너 회전을 위한 부가 2축, 제어장치 및 로봇경로는 오프라인 프로그램으로 구성되어 있다. CAD 도면 데이터를 오프라인 프로그램에 입력하여 로봇 교시점과 로봇 구동 소스를 얻을 수 있도록 하였고, 볼 육성용접 궤적은 Matlab을 통해 구현하였다. OLP 시스템을 통해 용접층 두께가 균일하게 얻으므로 용가재의 소모량을 약 20% 절약할 수 있었고, 모재와 용접봉 사이의 아크길이를 일정하게 유지하여 육성용접 불량율을 약 50% 정도 감소시켜 품질을 확보하였다. OLP를 활용한 육성용접 자동화 시스템을 통해 작업소요시간이 88시간에서 41시간으로 단축되어 생산성이 2.58배 향상 되었다.

K56 탄약운반장갑차용 서보제어기의 회로카드조립체 설계에 관한 연구 (The Study on Design of Circuit Card Assembly on Servo Control Unit for Automated Resupply Vehicle K56)

  • 본 논문은 K56 탄약운반장갑차에 장착되는 서보제어기의 통신오류를 제거하기 위한 회로카드조립체의 설계에 대한 연구이다. K56 탄약운반장갑차는 K-55A1 자주포에 탄약 보급 및 적재를 자동화한 무기체계로써, 탄약운반장갑차의 서보제어기는 탄약이동 제어를 담당하는 핵심적인 기능품이다. 따라서, 서보제어기는 K-55A1 자주포의 운용성을 위해 높은 통신 안정성 및 신뢰성이 요구된다. 그러나, 기존의 서보제어기는 간헐적인 통신오류가 발생하는 문제점이 확인되었으며, 이로 인한 긴급정지 현상이 발생한 바 있다. 본 논문은 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 서보제어기의 통신신호 분석 및 서보제어기의 회로카드조립체에 대한 고장원인을 식별하였다. 또한 고장원인 분석을 통해 회로카드조립체의 Data/Address 라인에 의한 신호간섭이 발생하는 현상을 확인하였으며, 각 통신회선 간의 이격거리 조정, 위치변경 등의 신호간섭을 회피하는 재설계를 수행하여 통신오류 현상을 해소하였다. 마지막으로 제안된 원인 분석 및 설계의 유효성을 서보제어기 단품시험과 체계장비 부착시험을 통해 입증하였다. 따라서, 서보제어기의 신뢰성 확보를 통한 방위력 향상과 더불어, 통신의 신뢰성이 필요한 유사품목의 설계에도 참고자료가 될 것으로 기대된다.
