In the present study we have analyzed the characteristics and distribution of the mu-opioid receptor(MOR) by raising anti-peptide antisera to the C-terminal peptide of MOR. The antisera against MOR was produced in New Zealand White rabbit against 15 residue corresponding to amino acids, 384-398 of the cloned rat MOR. The antigenic peptide was synthesized using an Applied Biosystems 432 solid-phase peptide synthesizer. The specificity and identification of the antisera were tested by analysis of transfected cells, epitope mapping and immunohistochemical method. COS-7 cells electroporated with MOR cDNA were used to evaluate the characteristics and subcellular distribution of MOR. MOR immunoreactivity was prodominent in the plasmalemma and subcellular compartments such as endoplasmic reticulum, Golgi apparatus and vesicle like structure. Furthermore, both tissue sections and transfected cell lines could be immunostained with these antisera and the immunoreactivity was abolished when anti-MOR sera were preincubated with the peptide against which they were raised. Based on epitope mapping analysis, all antisera appeared to have a similar epitope, which was determined to be within the last amino acid, 391-398. Moreover, immunohistochemistry showed that MOR immunoreactivity was observed in many brain areas including cerebral cortex, striatum, hippocampus, locus coeruleus and the superficial laminae of the dorsal horn. These stained spinal cord and brain areas showed the mirrored pattern observed in auto radiographic studies of mu-opioid binding as well as a pattern similar to that seen by is situ hybridization for MOR. Thus, several lines of evidence support the conclusion that the antisera produced in the present study most likely recognize mu-opioid receptor. These results suggest that MOR antisera may be utilized as useful tool to analyze the physiological and pharmacological studies for mu-opioid receptor in the future.

As recently, high-resolution satellite images of 1m spatial resolution are opened to the public and able to be used commercially, the studies that make ortho-images using them and apply to digital mapping and database of geo-spatial information system are having been progressed actively. Therefore, the purposes of this study are to establish the auto-extraction methods and to develope algorithms for automatically extracting buildings out of man-made structures, after making the IKONOS ortho-image. As the result of this study, we can extract buildings automatically at 72% out of the whole buildings. And we have analyzed the error trend by means of the comparison with ortho-image, digital map and drawing result, then we could know that obtain the good result for extraction of the building through the methods and algorithms of this study.
EEG signal is analyzed by two methods, analysis by visual inspection of EEG recording sheets and analysis by quantative method. Generally visual inspection method is used in the clinical field. But this method has its limitation because EEG signal is random signal. Therefore it is necessary to analyze EEG signals quantatively to obtain more precise and objective information of neural and brain. In this paper, power spectrum of EEG signal was estimated by AR(AutoRegressive) model in the frequency domain. This process is useful as a preprocessing stage for tomographic brain mapping (TBM) at each frequency, band. As a method for estimating power spectral density of EEG signals, periodogram method, autocorrelation method. covariance method, modified covariance method, and Burg method are tested in this paper.
In this paper we define a Myller configuration in a Finsler space and use some special configurations to obtain results about Finsler subspaces. Let $F^{n}$ = (M,F) be a Finsler space, with M a real, differentiable manifold of dimension n. Using the pull back bundle $({\pi}^{*}TM,\tilde{\pi},\widetilde{TM})$ of the tangent bundle $(TM,{\pi},M)$ by the mapping $\tilde{\pi}={\pi}/TM$ and the Cartan Finsler connection of a Finsler space, we obtain an orthonormal frame of sections of ${\pi}^{*}TM$ along a regular curve in $\widetilde{TM}$ and a system of invariants, geometrically associated to the Myller configuration. The fundamental equations are written in a very simple form and we prove a fundamental theorem. Important lines in a Finsler subspace are defined like special lines in a Myller configuration, geometrically associated to the subspace: auto parallels, lines of curvature, asymptotes. Torse forming vector fields with respect to the Cartan Finsler connection are characterized by means of the invariants of the Frenet frame of a versor field along a curve, and the new notion of torse forming vector fields in the sense of Myller is introduced. The particular cases of concurrence and parallelism in the sense of Myller are completely studied, for vector fields from the distribution $T^m$ of the Myller configuration and also from the normal distribution $T^p$.

This paper describes the varying material model, the analysis method and the software development for reinforced concrete circular columns confined by spiral or hoop transverse steel reinforcement and subjected to eccentric loading. The widely used Mander model of concentric loading is adapted here to eccentric loading by developing an auto-adjustable stress-strain curve based on the eccentricity of the axial load or the size of the compression zone to generate more accurate interaction diagrams. The prediction of the ultimate unconfined capacity is straight forward. On the other hand, the prediction of the actual ultimate capacity of confined concrete columns requires specialized nonlinear analysis. This nonlinear procedure is programmed using C-Sharp to build efficient software that can be used for design, analysis, extreme event evaluation and forensic engineering. The software is equipped with an elegant graphics interface that assimilates input data, detail drawings, capacity diagrams and demand point mapping in a single sheet. Options for preliminary design, section and reinforcement selection are seamlessly integrated as well. Improvements to KDOT Bridge Design Manual using this software with reference to AASHTO LRFD are made.

Karstic features and mining-related cavities not only lead to severe restrictions in land utilizations, but also constitute serious concern about geohazard and groundwater contamination. A microgravity survey was applied for detecting, mapping and monitoring karstic cavities in the test site at Muan prepared by KIGAM. The gravity data were collected using an AutoGrav CG-3 gravimeter at about 800 stations by 5 m interval along paddy paths. The density distribution beneath the profiles was drawn by two dimensional inversion based on the minimum support stabilizing functional, which generated better focused images of density discontinuities. We also imaged three dimensional density distribution by growing body inversion with solution from Euler deconvolution as a priori information. The density image showed that the cavities were dissolved, enlarged and connected into a cavity network system, which was supported by drill hole logs. A time-lapse microgravity was executed on the road in the test site for monitoring the change of the subsurface density distribution before and after grouting. The data were adjusted for reducing the effects due to the different condition of each survey, and inverted to density distributions. They show the change of density structure during the lapsed time, which implies the effects of grouting. This case history at the Muan test site showed that the microgravity with accuracy and precision of ${\mu}Gal$ is an effective and practical tool for detecting, mapping and monitoring the subsurface cavities.
Background: In the last two decades, pioneering research on anti-tumour activity of saffron has shed light on the role of crocetin, picrocrocin and safranal, as broad spectrum anti-neoplastic agents. However, the exact mechanisms have yet to be elucidated. Identification and characterization of the targets of bioactive constituents will play an imperative role in demystifying the complex anti-neoplastic machinery. Methods: In the quest of potential target identification, a dual virtual screening approach utilizing two inverse screening systems, one predicated on idTarget and the other on PharmMapper was here employed. A set of target proteins associated with multiple forms of cancer and ranked by Fit Score and Binding energy were obtained from the two independent inverse screening platforms. The validity of the results was checked by meticulously analyzing the post-docking binding pose of the picrocrocin with Hsp90 alpha in AutoDock. Results: The docking pose reveals that electrostatic and hydrogen bonds play the key role in inter-molecular interactions in ligand binding. Picrocrocin binds to the Hsp90 alpha with a definite orientation appropriate for nucleophilic attacks by several electrical residues inside the Hsp90-alpha ATPase catalytic site. Conclusion: This study reveals functional information about the anti-tumor mechanism of saffron bioactive constituents. Also, a tractable set of anti-neoplastic targets for saffron has been generated in this study which can be further authenticated by in vivo and in vitro experiments.
Background: Cardamom (Elettaria cardamom), also known as "Queen of Spices", has been traditionally used as a culinary ingredient due to its pleasant aroma and taste. In addition to this role, studies on cardamom have demonstrated cancer chemopreventive potential in in vitro and in vivo systems. Nevertheless, the precise poly-pharmacological nature of naturally occurring chemo-preventive compounds in cardamom has still not been fully demystified. Methods:In this study, an effort has been made to identify the proapoptopic, anti-inflammatory, anti-proliferative, anti-invasive and anti-angiogenic targets of Cardamom's bioactive principles (eucalyptol, alpha-pinene, beta-pinene, d-limonene and geraniol) by employing a dual reverse virtual screening protocol. Experimentally proven target information of the bioactive principles was annotated from bioassay databases and compared with the virtually screened set of targets to evaluate the reliability of the computational identification. To study the molecular interaction pattern of the anti-tumor action, molecular docking simulation was performed with Auto Dock Pyrx. Interaction studies of binding pose of eucalyptol with Caspase 3 were conducted to obtain an insight into the interacting amino acids and their inter-molecular bondings. Results:A prioritized list of target proteins associated with multiple forms of cancer and ranked by their Fit Score (Pharm Mapper) and descending 3D score (Reverse Screen 3D) were obtained from the two independent inverse screening platforms. Molecular docking studies exploring the bioactive principle targeted action revealed that H- bonds and electrostatic interactions forms the chief contributing factor in inter-molecular interactions associated with anti-tumor activity. Eucalyptol binds to the Caspase 3 with a specific framework that is well-suited for nucleophilic attacks by polar residues inside the Caspase 3 catalytic site. Conclusion:This study revealed vital information about the poly-pharmacological anti-tumor mode-of-action of essential oils in cardamom. In addition, a probabilistic set of anti-tumor targets for cardamom was generated, which can be further confirmed by in vivo and in vitro experiments.
Determination of grain size of heat-treated stainless steel based fm digital ultrasonic signal processing technique is presented. This techniques consist in evidence accumulation with multiple feature parameters, difference absolute mean value(DAMV), variance(VAR), mean frequency (MEANF), auto regressive model coefficient(ARC) and linear cepstrum coefficient(LCC). Feature parameters were extracted from ultrasonic echo signal of heat-treated metals. It was found that a few parameters might not be sufficient to exactly evaluate the grain size of heat-treated metals. The determination of grain size of heat-treated metals was carried out through the evidence accumulation procedure using the distances measured with reference parameters. A fuzzy mapping function is designed to transform the distances for the application of the evidence accumulation method. In the work presented, heat-treated stainless steel samples with various grain sizes are examined. The processed experimental results supports the feasibility of the grain size determination technique presented.

Because of a large number of subcarriers, the high PAPR(Peak-to-Average Power Ratio) is the major drawback of NC-OFDM system used for wireless communication system. Comb type pilot assignment is more efficient and lower computational complexity for the channel estimation than the block type pilot. However, even if the CAZAC(Constant Amplitude Zero Autocorrelation) matrix transform is used for the PAPR reduction of the data symbols, PAPR increases when the pilot is inserted in comb type with the data symbols. Therefore, in this paper, we additionally use a new SLM technique in order to lower the PAPR again even in the comb type pilot. Also, a new SLM technique suggested in this paper does not need any additional bandwidth for sending selection information for SLM. This combined method has good PAPR reduction performance and efficient data transmission.
