VLBI상관서브시스템의 검증을 위한 소프트웨어 시뮬레이터의 개발 및 성능시험 (DEVELOPMENT AND PERFORMANCE EVALUATION OF SOFTWARE SIMULATOR FOR APPROVING OF VLBI CORRELATION SUBSYSTEM)

  • A software simulator is developed for verifying the VLBI Correlation Subsystem (VCS) trial product hardware. This software simulator includes the delay tracking, fringe rotation, bit-jump, FFT analysis, re-quantization, and auto/cross-correlation functions so as to confirm the function of the VCS trial product hardware. To verify the effectiveness of the developed software simulator, we carried out experiments using the simulation data which is a mixed signal with white noise and tone signal generated by software. We confirmed that the performance of this software simulator is similar as that of the hardware system. In case of spectral analysis and re-quantization experiment, a serious problem of the VCS hardware, which is not enough for expressing the data stream of FFT results specified in VCS hardware specification, was found by this software simulator. Through the experiments, the performance of software simulator was verified to be efficient. In future, we will improve and modify the function of software simulator to be used as a software correlator of Korea-Japan Joint VLBI Correlator (KJJVC).

디지털 위성트랜스폰더를 위한 SNR 추정 알고리즘 (A SNR Estimation Algorithm for Digital Satellite Transponder)

  • 지상국과 위성트랜스폰더 사이의 통신의 초기 단계에서 궤도 운행 중인 위성과 지상국과의 도플러 효과에 의한 주파수 편이와 신호의 상태의 파악을 위해 지상국에서는 변조되지 않은 상향링크 반송파(up-link carrier) 신호의 주파수를 일정한 범위와 속도로 sweeping하며 송신한다. 위성트랜스폰더는 수신된 상향링크 반송파를 획득(acquisition) 및 추적(tracking)하며, 그 상태를 지상국에 송신하여 지상국과의 통신을 초기화 하게 된다. 이러한 과정의 제어를 위해서 위성 수신부는 수신된 반송파 신호에 대한 다양한 분석이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 위성트랜스폰더의 반송파 복원 루프 상태와 상향링크 신호 상태를 확인하고, 수신부 동작의 제어를 위해 사용할 수 있는 SNR 추정 알고리즘을 제안하고, 이에 따른 수신부 동작 제어 방안을 제시하였다. 제안된 알고리즘은 수신된 상향링크 반송파를 기저대역 극좌표계로 변환하여 각성분만의 통계로부터 SNR을 추정하고, 수신부 제어에 필요한 상태 변수를 파악하므로, AGC(Auto Gain Controller) 정보를 이용하여 신호의 상태를 파악하는 기존의 아날로그 방식에 비해 매우 간단히 구현될 수 있다. 제안된 SNR 추정 및 제어 상태 추출 결과는 모의실험을 통해 그 유효성을 입증하였다.

  • ARGO-M is a satellite laser ranging (SLR) system developed by the Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute with the consideration of mobility and daytime and nighttime satellite observation. The ARGO-M optical system consists of 40 cm receiving telescope, 10 cm transmitting telescope, and detecting optics. For the development of ARGO-M optical system, the structural analysis was performed with regard to the optics and optomechanics design and the optical components. To ensure the optical performance, the quality was tested at the level of parts using the laser interferometer and ultra-high-precision measuring instruments. The assembly and alignment of ARGO-M optical system were conducted at an auto-collimation facility. As the transmission and reception are separated in the ARGO-M optical system, the pointing alignment between the transmitting telescope and receiving telescope is critical for precise target pointing. Thus, the alignment using the ground target and the radiant point observation of transmitting laser beam was carried out, and the lines of sight for the two telescopes were aligned within the required pointing precision. This paper describes the design, structural analysis, manufacture and assembly of parts, and entire process related with the alignment for the ARGO-M optical system.

빠른 얼굴 검출을 이용한 실시간 얼굴 인식 시스템 (A Real-time Face Recognition System using Fast Face Detection)

  • 본 연구는 웹카메라와 같은 저해상도의 동영상으로부터 실시간 다중 얼굴 인식 시스템을 제안한다. 동영상을 이용한 얼굴 인식 시스템은 크게 얼굴 검출 단계와 얼굴 분류 단계로 나눌 수 있다. 첫째, 얼굴 검출 단계에서는 빠르고 강인한 객체 검출 성능을 가진 AdaBoost를 이용하여 얼굴 후보 영역을 검출하였고, 검출된 얼굴 후보 영역에 대한 주성분을 수행하여 데이타의 크기기 현저히 줄어든 특징 벡터를 구한 다음에 특징 벡터에 대해 SVM 기반 이진 분류를 수행하여 얼굴 후보 영역을 검증하였다. 둘째, 얼굴 분류 단계에는 주성분 분석과 멀티 SVM을 이용하여 각 얼굴들을 분류하였다. 실험 결과 본 논문에서 제안한 방법은 저해상도에서도 높은 얼굴 검출율과 동영상에서 실시간 처리가 가능한 빠른 다중 얼굴 검출과 인식 성능을 보였다. 또한 팬-틸트 기능을 가진 웹카메라를 이용한 자동 추적형 얼굴 인식 시스템을 적용하여 얼굴 검출 성능을 향상시켰고, 얼굴 인식 시스템의 응용으로 무선 On/off 얼굴인식 도어락 시스템을 구현하였다.

High Efficient Inductive Power Supply System Implemented for On Line Electric Vehicles

  • The On Line Electric Vehicles(OLEV) that can pick up inductive power from underground coils on driving with high efficiency have been developed this year, and is now proposed in this paper. The IPS(Inductive Power Supply) system consists of power supply inverters, power supply rails, pick up modules, and a regulator. There are 3 generations of IPS have been developed so far, and the $4^{th}$ generation IPS is being developed. The $1^{st}$ generation has been demonstrated this Feb. 27, which is equipped with mechanically auto tracking pick-up module with 1cm air gap, and showed 80% power efficiency. The $2^{nd}$ generation IPS applied to an 120kW (average)/240kW(peak) motor powered electric bus has 17cm air gap with 72% power efficiency. For the $2^{nd}$ generation IPS, the Power supply inverter has 440V, 3phase input and 200A @ 20kHz output. The test power supply rail of 240m long is segmented by 60m each, where newly developed core structure and power cable are constructed under the road covered with asphalt of 5cm thickness. The pick-up modules which consist of core, winding wire, and rectifiers are fixed to the bottom of the bus which can carry more than 40 passengers and can pick up max. 60kW. To remove parasitic component and to transfer maximum power between them resonant circuit topology is applied to the primary and secondary sides. The EMF level is below 62.5mG at 1.75m from the center of the road to meet the regulation. Several effective ways of reducing EMF levels have been developed. In addition, effective ways to solve problems related high frequency power cables buried in ground and it's proof from soil have been studied also. This development shows that the IPS system is capable of supplying enough power to the pick-up of OLEV and can reduce battery size, weight and cost, which means the IPS with OLEV is one of the best candidate for EV.
