As interest in the audiobook market is growing, this study examined the influence of audiobook usage on purchase intention. An online survey was conducted in December 2020 targeting those in their 20s to 40s with experience using audiobooks. PLS-SEM was employed and the results are as follows. First, information, relaxation, and convenience motivation of audiobooks had a positive impact on user satisfaction. Second, while innovativeness of users had a positive impact on satisfaction, multitasking did not significantly affect satisfaction. Third, satisfaction had a positive impact on continued use and purchase intention. Finally, the continued use intention positively affected the purchase intention. This study is significant as an early study on the use of audiobooks. It is also meaningful in that it explored the process of evolving books in accordance with changes in technology and market demand.

Purpose The purpose of this study is to examine the review of previous studies based on audiobooks, 1) using the IPA method, we examine the quality of audiobooks that listeners perceive as important and the quality of preferred audiobooks, 2) improvement directions for activating audio content and audiobook platform, to seek ways to establish strategic plans for the audiobook market. Design/methodology/approach This study conducted and experiment using three factors(usability, information and interaction) used in web service quality(WebQual). Usability consists of the availability of time, such as the use of audiobooks for hobbies and the ease of search. Information consists of the trends of the times, topics of converation and the latest trends. Interaction consists of the proportion and depth of celebrities. After that, grid analysis was performed using the traditional IPA method and the revised IPA method. It was judged that identifying and analyzing the preference for service provision and new content was more valuable than the Performance used in the existing method. Findings According to the results of the empirical analysis, it was found that the conversation material corresponding to informativity did not affect the audiobook during the online quality analysis. It is believed that improvements can be found through content production related to entertainment, webtoons, and general common sense that can increase listeners' interest. In addition, it was found that the advertising effect of celebrities corresponding to interactivity did not affect the results of this study, which should increase the concentration and immersion of listeners by increasing the technology for audiobooks.

With the increase in smartphone ownership and Internet usage using smartphones, the information environment is shifting from the existing PC to the smart mobile. The current undergraduate students are called Generation Z who prefer smartphones to PCs and video contents to texts. This study attempted to understand their usage behaviors of electronic resources in an academic library in a smart mobile environment. This study conducted a usage statistics analysis with 61,433 usage records of e-books, audiobooks, and e-learning contents and 1,595 records of users in the A academic library during 3 years from 2016 to 2018. The scope of the data includes the date of use, the subject, the year of publication, the channel of use, and each user's gender, affiliation, status, admission date, and graduation date. This study investigated not only the general characteristics of electronic resource use, but also the usage behaviors according to the user's demographic characteristics. Based on the findings, this study suggested practical service plans that are applicable in the near future and reflect changing circumstances.

This paper describes the process and methodology followed in developing the Android-based LG Sangnam Audiobook service and an evaluation of its usefulness to the public. The methods included a survey of user needs, analysis of usage statistics, and user interviews. The study found that visually impaired users: 1) were greatly interested and willing to use smartphones if there were no barrier in cost and access; 2) preferred downloads to streaming services; 3) did not mind performance differences between real and TTS (text-to-speech) voices; 4) showed marked differences in book preferences according to age, 5) made about 14,000 downloads in 2014; and 6) indicated bookmarking and moving between pages and tables of content as the most important functions in using audiobooks.

This study aims to apply a maker education program in an online class for a unit in elementary science entitled "Life of a Plant." Furthermore, it aims to investigate the effect of the program on the interest of students in science and creative problem-solving. The theme of the proposed maker education program is "Making a fairy tale audio book with the theme: the life cycle of a plant." The program consists of activities intended to produce creative audiobooks using concepts learned from the TMI maker education model stage. The result points to the positive effect of maker education on the interest of elementary school students in science and creative problem-solving. Therefore, applying the maker education program to online classes for elementary science is effective in improving the interest of students. In addition, further research is required to effectively apply the maker education program to online classes in science.

This study was conducted to identify the operation status of Dobong-gu public libraries in order to establish a mid- to long-term development plan for Dobong-gu libraries, and to analyze local residents' perceptions of libraries by factors through user surveys to suggest specific development plans for Dobong-gu libraries. Overall, the satisfaction level of Dobong-gu residents with library services was found to be high, and all libraries were analyzed to be providing high-quality services. From this, the following operational strategies for the mid- to long-term development plan of Dobong-gu public libraries can be derived. First, libraries need to continue to collect and provide books that meet the quantitative and qualitative levels to satisfy the needs of the community and users. Electronic and online materials, including e-books and audiobooks, as well as subject-specific materials should be expanded to provide relevant programs. Second, although Dobong-gu is an aging city, a wide range of age live there, so there is a need to promote communication and understanding between generations and promote integration of the community through a generational empathy program. Third, it is necessary to remodel and improve the space of aging libraries by organizing library facilities and environments into open spaces and creating makerspaces and multicultural spaces for direct experience and practice, reflecting the latest trends in library space organization.

This study analyzed the legal deposit, acquisition, and donation status from 2020 to 2022, along with the deposit status of e-publications with issued ISBNs. Through this analysis, the study derived improvement measures to strengthen compliance with legal deposit obligations for domestic e-publications. The key findings are as follows: The collection methods were acquisition (57.07%), legal deposit (41.74%), and donation (1.19%). The file formats varied, including e-books (pdf, epub), webtoons (jpg), and audiobooks (mp3). Most e-publications collected were published from 2012 to 2022, with some from 1960 to 2011. Webtoons dominated acquired materials, while legal deposits mainly comprised e-books. Analyzing the status of e-publications with issued ISBNs, e-books (96.2%) were most common, with the literature field receiving the highest number of ISBNs. Most ISBNs were issued during 2020 to 2022. Looking at the top 10 publishers, the low legal deposit rate indicates the need for improvement. To address this, proposed improvement measures include enhancing publishers' awareness of legal deposits, strengthening incentives and sanctions, encouraging voluntary participation through transparent disclosure of the legal deposit status, and improving the accuracy of data in the ISBN issuance and deposit system.
