  • This study addresses a shift, generally positive, in the acceptance and adoption of mobile commerce. The study, based on data collected using a survey questionnaire from mobile phone users in South Korea, examined the relationships using factor analysis and multiple regression analysis methods. The results showed equal positive adoption rates across all demographics of age, education, and income, except for gender, in terms of attitudes toward mobile shopping. The rate of mobile commerce adoption was relatively stronger among females than males. This finding provides new developments to mobile service providers on the effect of demographic profile on consumers'behavior and attitudes toward mobile shopping. • Background: The present study aimed to gather basic data for the development of an educational tuberculosis prevention program for prospective dental hygienists by understanding the level of knowledge, attitudes, and preventive behaviors related to tuberculosis for students in the Department of Dental Hygiene, who need preventive access to tuberculosis infection. Methods: The present study used a self-reported questionnaire on knowledge, attitudes, and preventive behaviors regarding tuberculosis, which was administered to dental hygiene students attending D University located in D city. Results: The average knowledge regarding tuberculosis was 16.17 ± 6.14, out of 30 points. Attitude regarding tuberculosis averaged 48.59 points (± 4.46), out of 60 points, and the degree of preventive behavior was 46.29 points (± 5.0), out of 60 points. Third year students ranked highest for knowledge regarding, attitude toward, and infection prevention behaviors of tuberculosis, compared to those in their first or second year (F = 7.20, p = 0.000). Those who had experienced tuberculosis themselves or with their relatives had higher attitudes toward tuberculosis than those who did not (F = 2.32, p = 0.02). Additionally, the higher the knowledge (β = 0.209, p = 0.004) and attitude (β = 0.425, p = 0.000) about tuberculosis, the higher the level of tuberculosis infection prevention behavior. Conclusion: Based on the results of the present study, it appears to be necessary to provide practical education to ensure that all students in dental hygiene are equipped with knowledge about tuberculosis, and that as a dental hygienist in carrying out dental hygiene management with a changed attitude, the act of preventing tuberculosis infection can be appropriately performed.

  • Perceived control and use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has long been known as important aspects of students' achievement. The purpose of this study was to explore the relationship between adolescents' perceived achievement goals, their Individual ICT use, ICT use for government-sponsored educational programs on television or the Internet, academic achievement and the attitude toward learning. Most previous research has employed cross-sectional data analysis using relatively small samples. For this purpose, this study used the datasets of the Seoul Education Longitudinal Study (SELS 2011) from Seoul Educational Research & Information Institute. We analyzed structural equation modeling (SEM) a nationally represented sample (4,346 eighth-grade students). The results of this study showed that students' perceived achievement goals had a positive relationship with their individual ICT use, and their use of ICT programs for government-sponsored educational programs on television or the Internet. Also, students' individual ICT use had a positive relationship with their achievement, but ICT use for government-sponsored educational programs on television or the Internet did not have a significant relationship with their achievement. That is, students' individual ICT use mediated the relationship between their perceived goals and academic achievement. In addition, results indicated that students' individual ICT use and ICT use for government-sponsored educational programs on television or the Internet had a positive relationship with their attitude toward learning. That is, both students' individual ICT use and ICT use for government-sponsored educational programs on television or the Internet mediated the relationship between their perceived goals and their attitude toward learning.

  • Computing Technology implementation suggests a dramatic change in work or organizational environment. The study aims to examine how IT adoption affected employees' attitudes toward jobs and behaviors toward customers in restaurant operations. The employee attitudinal variables examined in the study included employees' perceptions on internal work motivation, general job satisfaction, and pride in organization, while positive employee behaviors were used to examine employees' behavioral changes induced by IT implementation. The study sampled employees of full-service and mid-scale restaurants. To test the relationships among the employees of full-service and variables proposed in the research model changed by the IT implementation, six hypotheses were proposed. This study is meaningful in making a progress in finding a support for a link between task perceptions and attitudes in organizational environment change. The practical contribution of this research lies in for restaurant owners or managers to obtain a better perspective of the technology adoption and implementation decisions.

The generally positive explicit attitude toward Home Economics may be the results the social desirability effect due to the education. However, the home economists should develop a plan to overcome the gender-biased implicit attitude in order for the value of Home Economics as a subject to be fully addressed.

The research methods utilized the pre experimental design as nonequivalent experimental group. The data was analyzed by paired t-test and content analysis. The results showed that the SNS class utilized self-centric activities were effective in self-initiative and attitudes toward information technology, while social interaction added social activities were effective in not only self-initiative and the attitudes of information technology but also self efficacy of information technology. And content analysis of the effects of the education showed that information sharing, instancy and accessibility were advantageous but information security and privacy issues were problematic. That is, it was confirmed that when self-centric activities and social interaction activities were practised simultaneously in SNS-utilized instruction, the self initiative which learners planed and executed by themselves, the attitudes and self efficacy of information technology which were able to enhance learning ability and to show satisfaction to individual learning were improved.
